TV Producer Dan Schneider and Arianna Grande The documentary Quiet on Set alleges that Nickelodeon has a history of sexual abuse by producer Dan Schneider, production assistant Jason  Handy and assistant director/writer Brian Peck. The documentary also claims that Dan Schneider, the creator and producer of The Amanda Show, ran a hierarchical and demanding workplace, and that he facilitated Amanda Bynes's running away from home and attempted emancipation.    The documentary includes interviews with Drake Bell, who came forward about the child sexual abuse he faced in the docuseries' first run, and with two former writers on The Amanda Show, Christy Stratton and Jenny Kilgen, who allege that there was an abusive environment in the writers' room.    Peck, a dialogue coach on shows including The Amanda Show and All That, was convicted of sexually abusing a minor in 2004. The child's identity was kept private and records were sealed.    Schneider denied the claims, arguing that network executives approved all stories, dialogue, costumes, and makeup, and that a standards and practices group read and approved every script.

In a new lawsuit he filed yesterday, Dan Schneider (the man behind shows like “Zoey 101” and “The Amanda Show”) is accusing the “Quiet on Set” production team of defaming him. The ID docuseries details alleged abuse and misconduct at Nickelodeon, with a lot of the show's focus on Schneider. But while Schneider recently apologized for some of his past behavior, he's now claiming that the doc and its trailer imply that he was sexually inappropriate with some of the child actors on his shows. As an actor, Peck is best known for his role as Scuz in The Return of the Living Dead as well as Pickle Boy on All That, the latter of which employed him as a dialogue coach. Peck also appeared on Boy Meets World, Growing Pains and The Amanda Show. He also directed comedy horror anthology film The Willies (1990). He was a body double for Alan Thicke on Growing Pains. He was arrested on August 19, 2003, for lewd conduct with a minor, being initially charged with 11 counts. In March 2024, on the Investigation Discovery documentary series Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, Nickelodeon star Drake Bell, whom Peck worked with on The Amanda Show, was revealed to be his victim. In 2004, Peck was convicted of two counts and was sentenced to serve 16 months in prison and register as a sex offender. After his release, he was hired to work on the Disney Channel teen sitcom The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. He did voiceover work for three episodes but was later fired after Disney Channel executives learned of his conviction, and his voice lines and on-screen credits were replaced; he was never on set nor interacted with the show's cast or crew.
