Do you struggle with self-hate? Do you believe that depression is a chemical imbalance? Are you marinating on thoughts of death and negativity? God has given author and speaker Jamie Lyn a gift to deliver heavier words in the Kingdom of God with humor, love and grace. She is the daughter-in-law of Lance Wallnau and married to Lance Wallnau Junior. In this podcast, Jamie Lyn shares about her testimony of being medicated for depression, feeling ashamed, and hiding it from her family. She was told it was a chemical imbalance, which was correct for the research at the time. However, she knew depression wasn't from God and she loved being around people. She learned from an early age to talk to God. She struggled with pride and striving. She cared very much for authenticity and getting the “real thing”. When she was alone, she “hated herself”. The way she saw her face was so dark. On paper, her resume was amazing. She was the children's pastor and struggling with depression. She believed the lie that she will never experience joy. She was marinating on death in her thoughts. She finally experienced a prayer of deliverance that opened a door of hope. She watched a couple videos from neurologist Dr. Carolyn Leaf that really helped her understand the science behind getting free. She learned that depression is not about a chemical imbalance. She learned that depression is behind her thought patterns, how you are eating, what you are watching on TV and other factors. She found hope that it wasn't a chemical imbalance. Hear this powerful and encouraging testimony of a renewed mind and how to stay that way. Our body is a house and Jesus is sitting inside of us. When you follow Jesus doesn't stop us from opening the door of darkness again. What will you choose when it knocks on your door? “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” ~Proverbs 23:7 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” ~John 10:27 JamieLyn's website: https://www.jamielynwallnau.com/ To purchase the book Holy Revolution: https://www.amazon.com/Holy-Revolution-Finding-Satisfaction-Apart/dp/0768457858/ref=sr_1_1?crid=9HYAR9AYMJ17&keywords=holy+revolution+jamie+lynn+wallnau&qid=1680977232&sprefix=holy+revolut%2Caps%2C132&sr=8-1 Heidi's website: https://heidimortensonlmft.com/ If you are in crisis, help is available by call or text 1-800-273-8255 24/7. It's happened again! Another friendly takeover! Host Becky Hennesy's good friend Jamie Lyn Wallnau walked into the Reformers Collective Podcast Studio, grabbed a mic, and then proceeded to insert herself as the question poser for this episode. What nerve! Last time they broke down the Reformers Collective conference held back in October 2021. This time they discuss what makes Becky tick as a world changer herself and how she branched into this new realm of reformation. Plus Jamie Lyn realizes during the show how Millennialls and Gen-Zers like herself can learn key life tips from the (slightly) older generation. :) Becky also reveals her secret to how she made the transition from being a self-proclaimed quitter to becoming a champion in the reformation business. It's a trait Becky says she's also observed in every other great reformer she's met.Check out Jamie Lyn's own podcast!Set Apart Women Podcast (hosted by Jamie Lyn Wallnau)The Reformers Collective podcast is part of the expanding Charisma Podcast Network (CPN). Whether we're ready for it or not, Married at First Sight will be back on our screens this month and the full lineup of ‘brides and grooms' has just been revealed. In true MAFs form, there are also some truly questionable people in the mix this year. Plus, Kanye West's divorce from Kim Kardashian is not exactly going smoothly and he's let the world know about it via a newly released song and some pretty intense social media videos. But there is a reason for his current publicity blitz and it has to do with Julia Fox, Pete Davidson, and a new TV show. And Britney Spears and her little sister Jamie Lynn have been having quite the war of words since Britney's conservatorship ended and Jamie Lyn started doing publicity for her newly released memoir. This week some stories from their past caused their public feud to take an ugly turn. Becky Hennesy's podcast has been hijacked! In this episode, prior guest and good friend Jamie Lyn Wallnau bursts into the Reformers Collective Podcast studio and takes over the host duties. She turns Becky into a guest on her show as they review the highlights from the first ever Reformers Collective Conference held back in October 2021 at Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas.Aside from the conference, Becky gives an update to some amazing changes happening in the South Oak Cliff school system and how local reformers recently fought for massive physical upgrades to the tune of $70-million dollars. According to what Becky has learned from school officials, it's made a tremendous difference in the atmosphere and attitudes of both teachers and students. (Side note: could there be a correlation between this local transformation and the fact that South Oak Cliff's football team just advanced to the state title football game in 5A Division II?)They also discuss the small ways that anyone can begin the process of reformation in their own communities. Did you know that even serving as a substitute teacher can be a seed of reformation where you live? What about serving the homeless? Or being a foster parent for a few months? Or prayer walks/runs around your local schools and city government buildings?Check out Jamie Lyn's own podcast!Set Apart Women Podcast (hosted by Jamie Lyn Wallnau)Let's keep bringing godly solutions to earthly problems! The Reformers Collective podcast is part of the expanding Charisma Podcast Network (CPN). Last season for five episodes we listened to adoptees having a dialogue specifically about adoption with an adoptive family member. Starting with episode 14 of season 1, with Lionel and his dad. We explored conversations with Juliana and her husband, and Schai and her brothers, and Laurie and her parents. We are modeling how to have a conversation about adoption with a loved one. You’d think that it was easy, but let me tell you—I have friends who’ve never talked to their husbands or adoptive families about their adoption. Again, I’m not saying that you need to talk about adoption all the time, or ever-- for that matter. I am simply examining why aren’t we talking about? Is it because of fear? Is it because of guilt or discomfort? Is it because we do not want to hurt someone else’s feelings?
