Court Security During Murder Trials Safety Threats. In the world of law enforcement, ensuring safety in the courtroom during murder trials is a challenge that requires constant vigilance. Security threats are a real concern, and professionals like Bailiff David Lashley have firsthand experience handling high-profile cases while keeping their "Head On A Swivel." David is our guest on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast. The podcast episode is available for free on our website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify and most major podcast platforms. David Lashley, a Bailiff in Knox County, Ohio, was responsible for courtroom security and operations in what he described as a quiet part of the state. Despite its small population, the area saw more than its fair share of murder trials, placing a significant burden on law enforcement officials. Over the years, Lashley encountered numerous cases that tested the limits of security procedures, including a particularly demanding mass murder trial that took a toll on him and many others involved. Follow the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsbreak, Medium and most all social media platforms The Reality of Court Security During Murder Trials Safety Threats One such case that left a lasting impact was the mass murder trial stemming from a gruesome crime in November 2010. A criminal, after camping in the woods, attempted to burglarize a home but was surprised by its occupants. In a horrifying sequence of events, he murdered three people, kidnapped a young girl, and hid the bodies in a hollow tree. The ensuing investigation, arrest, and trial were complex and emotionally taxing for all involved. Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium, Newsbreak and Blogspot. Threats and Challenges in High-Profile Trials Managing security during a murder trial requires meticulous planning. Lashley detailed the intense pressure of handling such cases, from dealing with graphic testimony to ensuring the safety of everyone in the courtroom. Protecting victims' privacy, managing emotional outbursts, and mitigating potential threats from the public or even the defendants themselves made these cases particularly difficult. Surprisingly, Lashley revealed that less violent cases, such as those involving domestic disputes, often provoked stronger emotional reactions and violent outbursts compared to even the most heinous murder trials. This unpredictability underscores the need for thorough training and constant situational awareness. Follow the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsbreak, Medium and most all social media platforms The Role of Training and Awareness In Court Security During Murder Trials Safety Threats. Situational awareness is a cornerstone of courtroom security. Bailiffs, officers, and security professionals must be prepared for any scenario. Drawing from over two decades of experience, Lashley emphasized the importance of de-escalation techniques, assertive communication, and quick decision-making in high-stakes situations. His insights are featured in the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show, available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other major platforms. His book, Eyes Wide Open, delves deeper into the principles of situational awareness and security training, offering practical advice for professionals and civilians alike. The interview is available as a free podcast on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast website, also available on platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most major podcast outlets. Social Media, News, and Spreading Awareness Courtroom security is a topic that needs greater public attention. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter) play a crucial role in spreading awareness about safety measures, threats, and real-life experiences from professionals like Lashley. Law enforcement agencies and legal professionals must continue to use these platforms to educate and inform the public about security protocols during trials. President Donald Trump continues to speedily make good on his campaign promises - at least that's the way his supporters and conservative media seem to feel, and it's not hard to understand why. Trump certainly is stopping the influx at the border, and deporting many illegal aliens. However, one weighty criticism of his work thus far is its bulldozing of due process and today Judge James Boesberg rejected the government's attempt to vacate restraining orders protecting Venezuelans accused of gang ties from being deported. Are all the people being picked up by ICE illegal immigrants to America? Are the President's explicitly popular policies, the ones that got him elected, unconstitutional? To debate this vital question and more including Rosie O'Donnell keeping good on her promise to leave America, Piers Morgan speaks to host of 'The Michael Knowles Show' Michael Knowles, author of 'The Red Letter' on Substack Tara Palmeri, host of 'Pushing the Limits' Brian Shapiro, 'PBD' podcast host Vinny Oshana - before being joined by Mayor of Knox County and former WWE wrestler Glenn “Kane” Jacobs. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz wants to throw down on Trump supporters. Governor Walz part of the Democrat Party’s tag team that got body slammed by President Trump in the 2024 presidential elections. The governor – who was once an assistant high school football coach is apparently still working through some issues. He told California Governor Gavin Newsom that he could kick most Trump supporters in their “Blessed Assurance.” This is the same guy who put tampons in the boys bathrooms. Walz then suggested that he might even challenge them to a WWE fight. Well, that challenge caught the attention of Knox County, Tennessee Mayor Glenn Jacobs – better known as WWE superstar wrestler Kane. Jacobs challenged Walz to a charity wrestling match – told him to put his money where his mouth is. The Tennessee mayor offering to kick in a $10,000 donation.Governor Walz – was quite the chatterbox on Newsom’s podcast – but for some strange reason – he’s hit the mute button. Knox County school board member Katherine Bike joins the podcast to talk about her opposition to private-school vouchers and board Chair Betsy Henderson's testimony in a legislative committee in favor of them. Scott also takes a look ahead to Knox County Commission and Knoxville-Knox County Sports Authority meetings.
Knoxville officials say the Gay Street Bridge will reopen, but not to motor vehicles, and it will be replaced entirely within a decade. On this week's episode of Compass Points, Scott talks about the plans for the historic bridge, as well as the dispute that led to the city terminating its contract with Turn Up Knox and the sign plan for the new stadium. Knox County school board Chair Betsy Henderson joins the podcast to talk about her testimony in the Legislature in support of private-school vouchers and the angry reaction from opponents. Scott also takes a look ahead to Knoxville City Council and Knox County Commission meetings. This is a free service of Compassknox.com. Please support Compass by sharing this with your friends.
As Donald Trump and his Department of Government Efficiency ramp up their efforts to dismantle the federal Department of Education, its defenders are screaming that returning education to the states will destroy schooling in this country. Matt Kibbe is joined by pro wrestler and Knox County, Tennessee, Mayor Glenn Jacobs to debunk these nonsensical claims. From their shared love of the band Rush and the Austrian school of economics, Kibbe and Jacobs discuss the common-sense notions that underlie good economic and political thinking: the power of the individual, the virtue of not wasting taxpayer money on ineffective and corrupt programs, and the desperate need for reform in Washington's broken system. The only people who can oppose such obvious wisdom are the ones who have a financial stake in perpetuating institutions that serve legislators and bureaucrats rather than the people themselves.
This podcast is a FREE service of Compassknox.com The Knox County school board approved a new K-8 school for northwest Knoxville last week, and Scott breaks down the project and its implications in this week's episode of Compass Points. He also talks about the return of the Bassmaster Classic to Knoxville in 2026 and touches on TVA CEO Jeff Lyash's retirement announcement, the Downtown Knoxville Alliance's decision to buy two horses for KPD's new mounted patrol and criticisms of school board Chair Betsy Henderson's testimony in the state Legislature in favor of private-school vouchers — plus her response. Scott also previews Gov. Bill Lee's State of the State address and the Knoxville-Knox County Planning Commission's monthly meeting on Thursday.
Keeping the heart of the heartland requires two key things when we think about growing small towns, cities and rural economies: big vision and lots of hard work. Today's guest is no stranger to either and shares a great perspective on how one small community in the Midwest is reimagining itself into an epicenter of innovation. Nichole Like, CEO of The Pantheon, an innovation engine in Vincennes, Indiana joins us to talk: Investing in small communities while also honoring their heritage to make them a destination for newcomers to move to and hometown kids to return to for their careers. The steady decline of entrepreneurial activity in rural America and The Pantheon's vision to create the economy they want – not the way they're given. Vincennes as Indiana's first city has big stats to tout – including Knox County leading in ag receipts, being the #1 producer of fruit and vegetable production in Indiana and #2 in the United States for melon production. The simple, but effective, equation to building an agtech ecosystem: bring really smart, progressive farmers to the table with innovators to solve critical problems facing their operations. Creating community buy-in and the importance of local support to drive local economies. What's ahead for The Pantheon and Indiana's first city.

Trump outdoes himself in Wisconsin yesterday as he shows up to his rally in an orange vest riding a garbage truck. The scene set by Biden calling Trump voters garbage a day before. It's a masterstroke Stigall wants to bask in for a bit before getting down to business. Equally enjoyable? The media meltdown over it and we have all the audio. Plus interviews with South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, WWE Hall of Famer and now Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee Glenn Jacobs who recently interviewed Trump on his friend "The Undertaker's" podcast. And Stigall continues to walk out his theory on the future of the Democrats if Kamala should lose on Tuesday and the Democrats are up to their old tricks causing a lot of concern about election integrity once again. -For more info visit the official website: https://chrisstigall.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrisstigallshow/Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChrisStigallFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/chris.stigall/Listen on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/StigallPodListen on Apple Podcasts: https://bit.ly/StigallShowSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We begin today by showing how all of the pro-life Republicans who screwed us on every issue are now screwing us on the abortion issue as well. Outside Florida, there is no organized opposition to these abortion amendments among state party leaders. Next, we're joined by my friend Andy Fox, who just won a seat on the Knox County Commission, for a fun discussion on how to run for local office. We discuss both the imperative and the mechanics of running for local office. We need to break out of this dynamic of politics being a spectator sport rather than a participatory sport on the right. We also discuss the importance of mid-sized red counties like Knox County and how the Left is beginning to make inroads into these areas. Fox believes that the historical conservative nature of these counties has bred complacency and has perpetuated a class of Republicans who still believe they can and must compromise with people who will destroy their heritage. Are you up to the challenge of keeping your red county conservative? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
