Explore the divine blueprint of God's Temples and learn how they reflect His ultimate Temple: redeemed man in Christ. We're designed to be Temples of the Living God, in the image of Christ, the perfect human Temple of God. In union with Him, by His Spirit, He transforms us into His image from glory to glory. God's will for us as His Temples is to be filled with His Spirit, who indwells our holy of holies (SPIRIT), and also wants to fill our holy place (SOUL) and our BODY. The Tabernacle with all its furnishings was made according to a Divine Pattern (Ex 25:9,20, 26:30, Num 8:4, Acts 7:44, Heb 8:1-6). So, the earthly Tabernacle was made after the image of the heavenly Temple. The primary fulfilment of the typology of the Tabernacle is Jesus Himself. God came down to dwell among His people, by dwelling in a perfect human Tabernacle (John 1:1-14). The prophetic picture of the Tabernacle was perfectly fulfilled in the human nature of Jesus (Col 2:9). He was also filled with God's glory through the indwelling Spirit. He was the perfect prototype human Temple of God, the basis for all future human Temples of God. By His death & resurrection, He made it possible to multiply Himself in us, like a seed planted in the earth & rising again in multiplied form (John 12:24). When anyone receives Jesus, they are put into union with Him and become living stones in His Temple built on Him, their living Foundation, and He begins to change them into His image - first, by recreating our spirits in the New Birth, then by transforming our souls, and finally by glorifying our bodies. So, Christ is not just the fulfilment of the Tabernacle pattern, the perfect human prototype Temple, but also, the transforming power that changes us into His image as God's Temple, on the basis of His death & resurrection, so that we also become Temples of God, like Him. Thus, the pattern of the Tabernacle of Moses is primarily fulfilled in Christ, and 2ndly in us, His Body. God now lives in us, and wants to shine His glory through us. To make this all possible, on the Cross Christ fulfilled the Law of the Burnt Offering (Lev 1:1-12) & the Sin Offering (Lev 4:1-35). During the first 3 hours on the Cross, He offered Himself up as a sweet-selling burnt offering to the Lord (Eph 5:2). He identified with us and offered Himself for us, offering up His perfect human righteousness to God, to be accepted on our behalf, so that in Him we might be possess & be covered in His righteousness. On the basis of this aspect of the Cross, His righteousness is offered to us as a free-gift. From noon until 3pm, He fulfilled the type of the Sin Offering. He who knew no sin became sin for us on the Cross (2Cor 5:21). God signified this in the heavens by turning the sun to darkness, a picture of the radiant Sun of righteousness being covered with the darkness of our sin. In His Atonement, He paid the penalty in full for all our sins, so we can be forgiven, if we trust in Him. As our Sin-Offering, He took our sin and the punishment we deserved, releasing God's forgiveness & mercy to us, and as our Burnt Offering, He released His righteousness & life to us as a free-gift of grace. Christ's Altar of Burnt Offering is the everlasting power source for all of God's human Temples forever, for He gave Himself for us to release His everlasting righteousness & life, which will uphold us for all eternity. The truth that His Sacrifice is forever effectual in satisfying God and in releasing His grace to us is revealed in the Law of the Burnt Offering (Lev 6:8-13). His act of obedience in offering Himself up for us on the Cross provides for us an abundant everlasting source of grace (Rom 5:8-21). By His once for all perfect offering, He gave us His righteousness, grace & life, as our everlasting possession. As one moves toward the Holy Place of worship, after the Altar of Burnt Offering was the Laver (Ex 40:30). (1) He sacrificed Himself on the Cross for His Bride (represented by the Bronze Altar), so that (2) He might sanctify & cleanse us by the WASHING of His WORD (the Bronze Laver) - Eph 5:26. The LAVER represents God's WRITTEN WORD, which reveals His LIVING WORD – Christ, the source of eternal life (John 5:39-40). As we look into the Mirror of God's Word, the glory of the Person & Life of Christ is revealed to us, and His Spirit cleanses us from sin & sanctifies us to God (2Cor 3:18). The more we're cleansed & sanctified, the closer we can draw near to God to fellowship with Him and know Him (Heb 12:14, Matt 5:8). The Holy of Holies represents the spirit of man, in which was: “the Ark of the Covenant, in which were the Golden Pot of Manna, Aaron's Rod that budded & the Tablets of the Covenant” (Heb 9:3-4). These 3 items in the Holy of Holies correspond to the 3 items in the Holy Place, for the soul is made in the image of the spirit, designed to express & manifest the life & nature of the spirit.

We are to walk in Christ by faith and with thanksgiving for the great salvation he has worked in our lives.

A Bigger Life Prayer and Bible Devotionals with Pastor Dave Cover
This is Christian Meditation for A Bigger Life – a time for you to relax, refocus, and re-narrate your life. I'm Dave Cover. I want to help you with Christian meditation where you can break through all the distractions and experience God's presence through biblically guided imagination. If your podcast app is set to skip the silent sections, disable that in your podcast app for this podcast. Ephesians 6:11, 14-17 says: “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. …Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (NIV). One way to “put on the full armor of God” is through prayer. Here's an example of how to “take your stand against the devil's schemes” in your life and family through prayer. Today we will meditatively pray to put on “the breastplate of righteousness.” Father in Heaven, your word tells me to submit to you and resist the devil, and he will flee from me (James 4:7), and so I want to do that now in this prayer. I submit my whole self to you, my whole life to you, (my family to you), all my cares to you, and my entire future to you. And I take my stand right now against all the devil's schemes in my life (and family). I put on your “helmet of salvation.” In a mysterious way I don't fully understand, I affirm that I have already been raised with Christ and seated at the right hand of God (Col 3:1). I have already died, and my life is now hidden in God with Jesus (Col 3:3). I affirm that Jesus is my very life right now, and when he appears again I will also appear with him in glory (Col 3:4). And I will shine like the sun (Mt 13:43). I know that my citizenship right now is in heaven, and that you will raise my body in resurrection and transform me into a body like Christ's glorious, righteous body (1 Cor 6:14, Phil 3:20-21). So I know that my present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in me (Rm 8:18). Therefore, right now I submit my life to the glory and significance and love of the God of the universe. I affirm that you created me and saved me because you have a specific, glorious purpose for me in your universe forever (Eph 1:4-11; Rev 2:17). Amen. Who can you share this podcast with? Having set our minds on things above where Christ is (Col. 3:1-4), we are encouraged by the apostle to “put to death” what is earthly within us (Col. 3:5-9), and to put on the new self which is conformed to the image of Jesus (Col. 3:10-14). Speaker: Justin P Sivley

Every one of us has been made for the glory and exaltation of the Lord Jesus. Tune in to Episode 13 to find out what that means!
Fertile Ground Last week JD finished up 2nd Peter / Peter Sermon Series started back in January! Key scripture was 2 Peter 3:18 ~ But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Growing in the Grace and the Knowledge of Jesus are both experiential in nature! Our life in Jesus is a Transformational Relationship with the One that spoke everything into existence out of nothing! Growth isn’t an option for a Christian! If the Holy Spirit of God lives in you, Growth and Maturity is simply our Responding to Truth as it’s revealed by the Holy Spirit of God. Repentance and Holiness (demonstrated through Obedience) will be the hallmarks of our lives - as we walk by faith and are transformed into the image of Christ! Practically, it plays out as described in Acts 2:42 ~ They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Do that in community (doing life together), and Honor God in your circumstances! See how God will use that to transform your life to fulfill His purposes in and through you! We’re between sermon series and I’d been praying through what God would have me preach on today. Jotted down a few notes as I felt God was leading me. Faith over Fear ~ How does that play out? Faith and Focus and how do they relate to each other? You think about how crazy our world has gotten.... Fear and Division dominate not only the headlines of 2020, ...but the minds of too many believers who claim the name of Jesus as their Lord and Savior! I’ve been thinking about how grateful I am for the Gospel of Grace through Jesus Christ! That we don’t have to walk in fear. Our hope isn’t in this world and its systems, but in Jesus... Our hope, our heart and our home, that place of rest and peace, are all found in JESUS! This big blue marble we live on – it’s not our home... We are legal aliens with a temporary visa, working for our Father in heaven to advance his kingdom on earth! When our time is done here we are going HOME! So, IF we really believe that.... Why do we let the difficulties of this world draw us away from our REAL lives in Jesus? Col 3:4 ~ When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. What is it that we’re putting our faith and focus on that is taking Jesus off of his rightful place on the throne of our lives? I believe this is drilling down to it right here: How can we, as believers, keep our focus on the ONE that KEEPS US, … that holds us in the dark nights of our trials and brings us into the light of His Love and His Grace? That’s the FERTILE GROUND where faith can flourish! Keeping our focus on JESUS! What’s fertile ground look like: It’s… When we recognize we can’t, and only HE can! Where obedience to God’s Word flows from our love for Him,instead of an obligation to Him! Where transformation becomes the natural by-product of a vibrant relationship with Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit! Our faith and our focus are inseparable! Our Focus REVEALS what our Faith is in. What or whom we are Focused on is where we’re looking for Preservation when life is good and Resurrection when life is bad! Money, Family, Job or Jesus. It’s where we find Our Identity! How to keep our focus in the Right Place… Hebrews 12:1-3 ~ Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hindersand the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run withperseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. If your focus is on a good thing instead of Jesus – throw it off!
We may be living in a moment of the greatest social unrest since 1968 says Greg Ganssle, professor of philosophy at Biola University. Greg shares a timely message reminding us of the authority of Jesus over chaos, over all other authority, and over eight other areas, seen throughout the Gospel of Luke. This same authority is available today, in this current time of uncertainty. How will we respond?
Are you seeing the real Jesus or a Jesus that has been reduced and diluted by the culture and popular voices around you? Pastor Ger explains: “How you see Jesus determines everything about your life. Your faith, your life, and your future all are in tune with how you view Jesus.” Pastor Ger Jones, lead pastor of Vintage Church LA and regional leader of our family of churches, invites us to take a step back and consider if we are truly seeing the REAL Jesus that is outlined here in Colossians 1:15-20. The more we see of the Real Jesus, the more our faith comes alive and the more we experience his Real power and presence.
Colossians 3:5-7 (NASB) 5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry. 6 For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience, 7 and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them. The Big Idea: God commands Christians to put our sins to death and has blessed us with Gospel reasons, power and knowledge to do so. Outline: Three keys to help you kill the sins of sexual immorality and greed in your life. 1. Know the seriousness of these sins and how you must view the as a Christian. (3:5‑6) 2. Remember that these sins characterized the old wicked life that you were saved from by Christ. (3:6‑7) 3. Apply the following nuts and bolts of putting these sins to death. (Selected Scriptures) Set your Mind on Jesus (Col 3:1-4) Abstain from fleshly lusts (1 Pet 2:11) Make no provision for the flesh (Rom 13:14 Be filled with the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:18) Meditate on God's Word (Ps 119:11) Pray continuously (1 Thes 5:17) Cultivate contentment in Christ (Philip 4:13) Get an accountability partner

We're all prone to have a shrinking Jesus; that's why our anxieties, insecurities, restlessness, and hyper-activity are always in the background. God knows this. Paul knows it. That's why he wrote the "Christ Hymn" in this letter. In it we see Jesus as he is--supreme, sufficient, and seeable.
Consequence 06 Jesus - the Object of our Faith ~ In this brief series called Consequences, we are looking together at 7 consequences of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Today we continue to look a bit deeper into that God-man, Jesus Christ! ~ John 1:1 & 18“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning… No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.” ~ Why would God become a man? We see through the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus Christ that God himself has taken on the responsibility for our sins. Jesus, the Son of God, bore our sins on the cross, became sin for us, even though he was without sin. By doing this we are drawn to God in a personal way through Jesus Christ. God has shown that he loves us and wants us in a relationship with himself. Through Jesus, God has bridged the gap between the supernatural and the natural, the infinite and the finite, to show us what He is like. Jesus as God in person gives humanity a focal point to respond to. In Jesus Christ, we see that by becoming a man, He humbled Himself (Philippians 2v8) in order to confirm God's promises (Genesis 3v15) and reveal God the Father (John 1v18, 14v9)! We see that Jesus came to become our high priest (Hebrews 8v1)intercessor, mediator and representative before God (1 John 2v1)! J esus, the Son of God, became human so as to destroy all the works of satan (1 John 3v8, Hebrews 2v14), to give humanity an example of living a holy life (1 Peter 2v21, 1 John 1v6) and to prepare for the redemption of all creation (1 John 2v2)! WOW! This Jesus was both fully God and fully human. This unity of divine and human nature is called ‘hypostatic union‘. Let us look briefly at this Jesus! ~ Jesus Was Fully Human Jesus was fully human! We know this because He is explicitly called a man (John 8v40; 1 Timothy 2v5), was born of a woman (Galatians 4v4), so at least in a prenatal state he was nurtured and formed as any other male baby was and is. Jesus exhibited normal human emotions such as love, sorrow, anger and anguish. Jesus wept tears of sorrow. Jesus ate and drank as any normal human did and He had a body and a soul (Matthew 26v26-38). He had normal human experiences – tiredness, sleeping, perspiration, temptations (Hebrews 2v18); hunger (Matthew 4v12). Jesus died just as all people do. Jesus was human in every way that we are - physically, mentally and emotionally. The only exception to this is that He was sinless (2 Corinthians 5v21; Hebrews 2v26). He was the Son of Man and Son of God and did not inherit the carnal nature that all humans have. But why does Jesus need to be fully human? Firstly, so Jesus death could appease God’s anger with us. Secondly, so that Jesus can empathize and pray for us in our own sufferings. Thirdly, Jesus exhibited true and perfect humanity and therefore is an example to follow. Fifthly, while God is both above and beyond creation, by becoming human, this shows that He is not so far removed from us, that He cannot interact with his creation. ~ Jesus Was Fully God Not only was Jesus fully human but He was simultaneously fully God! He is expressly called God - (John 1v1) The Word was God; (John 1v14), the only begotten God (John 20v28) and He accepted titles from others such as when the Apostle Thomas exclaimed “My Lord and my God”. Additionally Old Testament descriptions of God were applied to Jesus. (Matthew 3v3) 'Prepare ye the way of Jehovah!’ Jesus possessed the attributes of God - (John 14v6) Life; (John 8v58) Eternal; (John 14v6) Truth! The works of God are ascribed to Jesus - (Col 1v16) and Jesus receives honour worship and glory belonging to God alone.Jesus had equality with God - (John 10v30, 33) I and the Father are One; John 5v18)! Jesus in His very nature was God; (1 Timothy 6v15) and King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Jesus was and is the Alpha and Omega! Jesus was the Christ; (John 8v58) and much to the chagrin of the Jewish religious leaders declared frequently that He was the great “I AM”, an explicit claim to be God! Jesus - fully God and fully human - the object of our faith!
