Reid Gilbert, author of Of Bread & Circuses, drops by the show to give you the best analyzing of Bounty Gate you will get anywhere. Before we get to 2013 Reid explains the mess that Roger Goodell dropped on the 2012 Saints. You'll learn a ton of stuff you didn't know about Bounty Gate like how Mike Cerullo was even more of a whack job than we all thought. How the NFL had even less evidence on the Saints than you even think. Reid believes the giant hole in the NFL's case against the Saints was the inability to show even one injury related to bounties. Reid lays out why the media's conventional wisdom about Paul Tagliabue's Bounty Gate ruling is wrong, who he wished he could have interviewed and why Jonathan Vilma's hiring of Peter Ginsberg was brilliant and changed everything about Bounty Gate. Reid also gives his thoughts on if Bounty Gate has caused long term damage to the Saints organization. Reid then gives his thoughts on the 2013 season and he focuses on the secondary and why it $^^&&( sucks. He also is excited to see what the year off has done to Sean Payton. Listen to this podcast and then buy Reid's  book.

It's too bad Dave couldn't make this week's podcast because he totally could have gloated when Kevin and Ralph admitted he was right about not giving up Mark Ingram. Kevin compares the Saints secondary to the Godfather Part III and it isn't a compliment. The guys also try to figure out why the hell it took so long to get Chris Ivory on the field. (Hint: Kevin thinks it's because Aaron Kromer was a horrible interim coach) Kevin worries Carson Palmer is going to light up the Saints defense and it will be awful to watch. Ralph thinks if the Saints are going to make a serious run in 2012 Jonathan Vilma will be involved in a huge way. Kevin also melts down over Drew Brees getting the shaft in a hypothetical MVP Race.

Andrew Juge of the Saints Nation stops by to discuss the Saints win in Tampa. He explains how the offense finally started to click by using great pass protection, the long ball, and Joe Morgan's super powers. He also thinks the running game is close to breaking out. Ralph and Andrew then discuss the defense and they want just want one thing from it; To stop being the worst defense in NFL history. Is it too much to ask? Andrew says after 6 games the defense isn't likely to improve and if Drew Brees wasn't the Saints QB they'd probably be 0-6. Andrew says the saints can't do anything well and show no signs good play is even possible. Andrew also grades Jonathan Vilma's return and wonders if Joe Vitt's return will give the team a lift.

Ralph wonders if an overlooked key to the rest of 2012 is the Saints getting their running game cranked up. Andrew explains why Jonathan Vilma playing might be more than just an emotional lift for the Saints, how Joe Morgan can help the running game, and why he wishes the NFC was as bad as the AFC. Ralph compares the lucky 2012 Atlanta Falcons to the 2010 Saints and Andrew predicts an ugly messy game in Tampa.
