Are you struggling to find purpose in your journey or business? This week on Podcast Talent Coach, I sat down with entrepreneur and ocean conservationist Rich German to dive deeply into the connection between passion, purpose, and creating real impact with your platform. DEFINING PURPOSE FOR SUCCESS If you're searching for stronger work-life balance, or wondering how to blend your business with your life's calling, you're going to want to listen. We break down exactly how finding your true "why" can make the bumps in the road easier to overcome, and how it will magnetize listeners who share your mission. Rich German's journey from burnout to balance is one every entrepreneur should hear. He's led thousands of coaching calls, built the JV Insider Circle into a leading community for coaches and authors, and then made the bold leap into environmental activism and nonprofit leadership with Project O. He did all while designing a life that lets him spend every morning with the whales. VISION FOR YOUR LIFESTYLE What is Rich's secret? Set a vision for your lifestyle first, then build a business that funds your dream. Rich shares actionable steps to start your own transition, from group coaching models to automating your business, so you spend less time grinding and more time living your story. As a content creator, you know connecting deeply with your audience is everything. That starts by owning your origin story and weaving your "why" into every episode. In this interview, you'll learn why defining your greater purpose creates more powerful, profitable relationships with listeners. Your passion isn't just a background detail – It's your driving force! When you make your content about your unique mission, not just revenue, you'll sustain your efforts regardless of challenges, and attract raving fans who share your values. It's time to stop chasing trends and start building unforgettable bonds through your podcast. WORKFLOW TO SUPPORT PURPOSE Rich and I also discussed practical strategies to strengthen your workflow. Are you feeling stretched thin, working 24/7 without seeing the results you want? Rich's approach is a blueprint for efficiency and clarity: schedule your work around your life, not the other way around, eliminate busywork, and laser in on the 20% of actions that produce 80% of your results. We even explored why it's so hard for many business owners to “unhook” from the grind and fully step into their deepest calling. If you're craving more time, impact, and joy, these are lessons for every podcaster and entrepreneur. RESOURCES MENTIONED This episode is packed with actionable resources for you. Rich is offering his free Ungrind Assessment at podcasttalentcoach.com/rich. This is your first step to stopping the hustle and start building the life of your dreams. Plus, don't miss my upcoming Origin Story Masterclass where I'll help you clarify your purpose and craft it into stories that captivate your audience and set your show apart. Head to podcasttalentcoach.com/workshop for all the details. Remember: your podcast is just the vehicle, but the real goal is significance, impact, and lasting relationships. Let's get you there... one episode, and one purpose, at a time!   If you would like coaching help to craft your story and stragegy, you can get details at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/apply.

Your Step-By-Step Audience Growth Strategy – PTC 348

Whether you are brand new, or you've been publishing for years, we are all looking for audience growth. Unfortunately, few of us have a strategy. We are just trying random things and gaining no traction. CLEANING I was cleaning the basement the other day. After hours of work, it looked like I had done nothing. We collect everything down there. The basement is where everything goes when we don't have a place to put it. We have a pool table down there that doubles as a ping pong table. The table came from some friends that just wanted it out of their basement. I quickly learned why. The table has now become the place where my son does his school work … and sorts his baseball cards … and leaves his spare hockey gear. My office space is down there. We have book shelves and storage shelves and a couch where we go when tornado warnings fire up. One day, I decided to clean the basement. I started putting a stack of books on the book shelves. That's when I realized some of my hockey coaching material was on one of the shelves. That belonged in binders in my office space. While I was putting the hockey stuff away, I noticed I had some podcast notes in a stack on my desk. I started getting that squared away. On my desk was a shoebox I was using when I was recording a video. I took the shoebox over to the baseball cards where it belonged. Next thing I know, I am arranging the baseball cards on the pool table. My son had a few jerseys on the table that got taken to the laundry room. This went on for hours. When I finally stepped back to admire my work, it didn't even look like I had been there. There was no change. Why? I had no plan. My work wasn't focused. I needed to work on one area until it was done. INTENTIONAL Be intentional to grow your audience and get people to listen. Create a plan and stick to it. What activities will bring in new listeners if you do those activities on a consistent, regular basis? About a year ago, I joined JV Insider Circle and my podcast took off. JVIC connects you with people who run podcasts, radio shows, tele-summits and live events. Members of this community have large lists in your target market. You can find details on JVIC at www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/JVIC. By attending the bi-weekly calls and various virtual events they hold, I met a variety of influencers who were talking to my potential audience. I started participating on their summits and in their giveaways. They had me on their podcasts and you've heard a few of them here. Next thing I know, my audience was growing by leaps and bounds. I simply focused on this strategy and took regular action. Instead of trying everything, find two or three things that you enjoy doing, will get you in front of new listeners and you can and will do on a regular basis. Then, focus on those actions for a month. See where it takes you. CONTENT Before you invite people to your party, make sure you've cleaned the house. The first thing you need to do is make sure your content is solid and entertaining. Ask yourself if you would listen to your show if it wasn't your show. Oscar spent the first year of his podcast interviewing other people. His show wasn't growing or driving his business. He came to me for some help. We restructured his show to highlight his expertise. The show still included other experts. However, we created space specifically for Oscar to talk about what he did and the service he provide. After we got the show working, we started inviting people to the party. That's when his audience began to grow. Tighten up your content before you bring more listeners to the show. You only get one shot at a great first impression. NEW AUDIENCE Once your content it tight, go get in front of new people. You can't grow your audience until you find people who are not yet aware of you and your show. As we discussed, JVs are a great way to find new listeners. You can also be present in social groups. You can appear on podcast interviews. People can discover you on summits. There are many ways you can get in front of people. Find the activities you love and will commit to doing consistently. Again, you can check out www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/jvic to learn about finding joint venture partners. INVITATION Once you get in front of a new pool of potential listeners, invite them to listen. So many people get interviewed or get on a stage in front of an audience and forget to tell people to listen. If your goal is audience growth, ask people to listen to your show. Tell them where to find you and why they will love the show. REASONS Telling people to listen isn't enough. You need to give them a specific reason to listen. Why will they love it? When you ask people to listen, give them a specific episode that they will love. If you have interviewed someone special or taugh something really cool, send them to that episode. Asking people to check out a generic show will give you a few listeners, but not great growth. Telling them why they will love your episode that was downloaded more than any other episode will bring people in. Remember, they are asking, "What's in it for me?" Give them a reason. REMIND THEM Getting them to listen isn't enough for audience growth. You need to bring them back episode after episode. Remind your listeners to come back using your e-mail list and social media. Stay top of mind so the new listeners add to your current listeners. If your current listeners are leaving, you do not achieve audience growth. You maintain. New listeners are just replacing old listeners. Give your current listeners a reason to come back next week by teasing effectively. Create some fear of missing out. YOUR PLAN This week, get to working on your audience growth plan. Start small with a plan that you can stick with. Do the work consistently and watch your audience grow. Next week, we will talk about ways to use events to create audience growth. Events are coming back. Let's be strategic to use these events in the best way. You'll get a bunch of ideas for your plan next week.   If you don't have a mentor who can take your hand and walk you every step of the way, go to www.PodcastTalentCoach.com/apply, click the button and apply to have a chat with me. We will develop your plan and see how I can help and support you to achieve your podcast goals.

He believes that all entrepreneurs can build a business based on their life's purpose. His vision of having a massive positive impact on 100 million people has fueled his love and passion for guiding entrepreneurs to success. Here are the highlights of this episode: 2:14 Iman's ideal Client: My perfect clients are people who have expertise and knowledge that want to share it with other people and want to make an impact to the world. And I know that in your audience, there are lots of companies and groups that are doing an amazing work. There is a very big importance in their business to transfer that knowledge and information either from one generation in their company to the other generation in the company, or from the team to the customers, or from one group of team members to the other team members which actually make it extremely valuable for them to discover how to create and launch online courses. Now, they can sell it or offer it as free, or they can give access to other people. But using the online courses on a platform makes a huge difference in their success in increasing their customer satisfaction and their team satisfaction rate. 3:27Problem Iman helps solve: I always say it this way; if you ever found yourself that you needed to repeat one thing twice in a day, that means that it needs to turn into course. And you not having turning that into a course decreases your productivity. If you ever found yourself two team members need to repeat themselves on something over and over, or one team member needs to repeat the same thing to a client over and over, that means that it can be put into a course, into a system that simply they can say "hey, here's the thing, go watch this 5-minute video/ 20-minute video that will show you exactly what you need to do. If you couldn't get it done then come back to me but watch this video to give you step-by-step." 4:31Typical symptoms that clients do before reaching out to Iman: Two things: number 1-"I wish people knew about this!" because it can make a huge difference in their businesses, in their life, in their experience. Number 2- "I wish that before coming to me, you knew about this. So, I didn't need to explain myself over and over before." If you have any of those feelings, that means it's your time. 5:19What are some of the common mistakes that folks make before finding Iman and his solution: The first biggest mistake that they make is that they sit on their own and they're like "what's the course I want to create?" and they go create without any conversation with their clients or with the students. And what happens is, the back course will look perfect to you but what's perfect to you is not perfect to the students.

In today’s episode, I’m happy to introduce you to my friend Rich German. Rich is a renowned photographer, particularly of what he calls his true loves - whales, and dolphins. He is also the co-founder of the JV Circle in which Rich teaches people how to leverage the power of joint ventures. He is also the founder of Project O, a non-profit whose mission is to help restore, protect and sustain the ocean, the life living in it and all of humankind, now and for generations to follow. In this conversation, Rich shares some of his personal experiences of when he thought he had life figured out, only to have it change dramatically, and often for the better. It’s a reminder that surrendering to what is unfolding before us is the true work that we will do in this lifetime. This includes relationships that did not go as planned but that he ultimately sees as great gifts, leaving his successful real estate career, and how he ultimately found his way to the ocean. Rich talks about the lessons that his time on the ocean and with the whales and dolphins have taught him, particularly the importance of being in the present moment. He also shares the moment that he knew it was time to share his experiences with the world and the great hope he has for the new non-profit organization, Project O that he has started.   “Your life can be one way and then one day, without a plan, something happens and you make a different choice and everything changes.”  ~ Rich German   This is a moment of great change and collective grief. It’s also an opportunity, on the other side of this, to Reenter Life as a new version of ourselves both as a collective and as individuals. Rich shares what makes him feel optimistic about these unprecedented times and what he hopes we will all learn while in this “waiting room” phase. If you are needing support during this pandemic, I invite you to join my free Facebook Group that I have created for you. It is so important to me that we are ready to exit the Waiting Room when it’s time to reenter our new lives on the other side of this. More About Rich German An avid stand-up paddleboarder, Rich has been paddling off the magical coast of Laguna Beach, California for years now. His greatest loves are the ocean and the life living in it, specifically dolphins and whales. Rich has captured countless beautiful images from his board. Rich garnered international media attention from his close encounter on his paddleboard with a pod of orcas off the coast of Laguna Beach. His story got the attention of some of the leading conservationist organizations in the world including Save The Whales, PETA, Blackfish and Sylvia Earle’s foundation. This led him to start Project O whose mission is to help restore, protect and sustain the ocean, the life living in it and all of humankind, now and for generations to follow. The initial vision is to see the entire coastline of California protected. Gina Hussar, speaker, intuitive brand strategist and copywriter, shares how she built a solid network of influencer connections and business partners through intuition, fearlessness and authenticity.   Gina Hussar’s Journey Gina has grown a business in marketing and writing, but her first passion was personal development and spirituality. After becoming a certified healer, she has since been able to blend copywriting / marketing messaging, and spirituality. Fearlessness to Connect with Influencers Don't let fear get in the way. Gina first started a blog called Front Row, which later became a digital magazine. Her  “what-do-I-have-to-lose” attitude got the cast of Dancing with the Stars and The Hills on her magazine cover. Passion and authenticity help eliminate fear. For Gina, those factors are most important when connecting with influencers. As an influencer herself, she connects with those who share those qualities. She once reached out to Rich German, founder of the to-ranked community to build joint venture relationships, JV Insider Circle. She had just read Rich's book, and was eager to let him know the impact it had on her. The relationship grew, and now Gina is the copywriting expert for JV Insider Circle, a team I was also honored to join as one of their coaches.  Beat fear by detaching from the outcome. Influencer marketing involves rejection. Gina believes in divine timing, so if it doesn’t work out with a connection, she moves on and does not take it personally. Milana Leshinsky Show Notes Simplicity Circle Founder, Milana Leshinsky, is creating a simplicity revolution for coaches, authors, speakers, and entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses with ease. Creator of Recurring Revenue Revolution, author of Coaching Millions, co-founder of JV Insider Circle, and an inventor of telesummits, Milana is known as a serial entrepreneur and paradigm shifter by many luminaries. She came from Soviet Ukraine 25 years ago as a classical musician with zero knowledge of the business world, and has built multiple six and seven-figure businesses since. Today, she’s passionate about showing entrepreneurs how to use simplicity as a growth strategy. Goodbye complexity and overwhelm. Hello simplicity, profits, and ease. Most passionate about I’m running a company called Simplicity Circle, and it bases on the idea of simplicity entrepreneurship that you can build, run, and grow your company as successfully and profitably as you want without paying the costs with your independence, your health, your peace of mind, or your relationships. Keeping the company as simple as possible, and at the same time, creating an impact and income for you. More specifically, I’m excited about the strategy that I invented many years ago. The TeleSummit, which developed into virtual summit, and it’s still such an amazing way to elevate your business, to give your brand a boost, and to put yourself on the map; I help people in creating summits that can do all this things for them. 13 years -and thousands of Tele-summits- later, there is still so much to think and develop in this field. So, that is where my mind and heart are right now. Tele-Summits – A virtual summit is a virtual event conducted over the Internet remotely, over the course of multiple days with multiple speakers. It used to called TeleSummits, so back in 2005, I Googled that phrase and there wasn’t any domain name called TeleSummit, so I ended up holding the first tele-summit. I taught that idea in New York, and later there was an explosion of tele-summits. The reason virtual summits are so successful is because you are inviting the leaders in your industry and that position you as your industry’s leader. Milana’s Career I came from Ukraine as a classical musician, and I had to change my professional from being a musician to being a technician to support my family. I became a computer program technician and I’ve always worked hard. Simplicity doesn’t mean not working hard, it means working hard in the right direction. If you are working hard, without utilizing your natural abilities -what I called your super skills- you are not only working much harder without gaining the funds and the results will come while grinding, pushing, and fighting, and at the end, you’ll burn out. And that’s exactly what happened to me last year, when I left a million dollar company I built with my partner. It was just not the right fit for me; I wasn’t using my natural ability. I wasn’t building my company on top of my natural skills. I ended up burning out, getting over-whelmed, losing my inspiration, and woke up one morning, asking ‘is that all there is? Work, work, work without any fun?’ When you’re using your natural skills and building your business around your natural skills, results come with ease and you can sustain your business better because it’s something that you enjoy doing. I love creating products and I’m working very hard creating products but I also have so much fun, and I feel fulfilled because I love what I do. Milana’s customers I have the same target audiences for both activities that I do and they are coaches; life coaches, business coaches, health coaches, they are experts that sell expertise online and they are entrepreneurs who want to build their businesses but feel overwhelmed and confuses by all the available methods, platforms, and advice out there. So, when I talk with them about simplicity,...

Simplify Your Business with Simplicity-Driven Growth Strategies. In this episode, Michele interviews Milana Leshinsky, founder of Simplicity Circle—a business that is creating a “simplicity revolution” for coaches, authors, speakers, and business owners. She works with her clients to grow their businesses to whatever size they want, making as much money as they want as they create whatever they want … all without sacrificing their independence, peace of mind, health, relationships, family, or life. Here, Milana shares how she founded, built, and walked away from a seven-figure business—and how she rebuilt another in a much simpler, more aligned way. In this episode, you learn: The key to “simple” success. How to obtain success without sacrifice. Why even the “big” name, super-successful entrepreneurs end up in overwhelm, so you can avoid it. How to stop strengthening your weaknesses and start building your strengths. And so much more. Milana also talks about how there are a million ways to start and grow a business, but there is not one single, “right” way of discerning your path. She believes in building your business around your life, not the other way around. And this is what she helps her clients do—she guides them toward building a business as simply and successfully as possible, by combining their natural talents with simplicity-driven growth strategies. Milana is a “serial entrepreneur” and “paradigm shifter.” She is also the creator of Recurring Revenue Revolution, author of “Coaching Millions,” and co-founder of JV Insider Circle. Listen in to this episode to hear about her decision to let her seven-figure business go, and what she did to simplify her life and start again. Maturepreneurial Podcast: Interviews with Older Entrepreneurs | Online Business Tips | Learn From Those Who Have Succeeded

The Beginning Milana’s American dream started in October of 1992, when she stepped off the plane from Kiev, Ukraine to New York. Equipped with a music teaching degree and a 90-day crash course in English, she was ready for whatever she had to do to survive in this new world! Everything Milana had learned about America came from Soviet newspapers in the 1980s, so she spent her first few years in awe and wonder. But giving piano lessons at $6 an hour wasn’t going to feed her family, so she enrolled in college and graduated with a four-year degree as a computer programmer. Now, she thought, she had everything she needed to be successful in America. First Business With the Internet sweeping the world, thousands of online businesses started emerging and Milana became curious about e-book publishing. After writing and selling her first three e-books, she stumbled onto something that would completely transform her life. She discovered coaching. A fast-growing field, coaching heavily relied on having online presence, dynamic web sites, and marketing skills. Milana quit her job, became a work-at-home mom of two small children, and began studying marketing, with a focus on copywriting and direct marketing. She was absolutely fascinated by the idea of a single email generating thousands of dollars in sales. With the birth of online product launches and joint venture partnerships, Milana’s dream of creating a million-dollar business seemed more real than ever. First Million Over the next few years Milana published her first print book, “Coaching Millions”, hosted the world’s very first telesummit, created the Recurring Revenue Revolution live event, developed almost 30 various business courses, started and sold a software company, and co-founded JV Insider Circle. And she made her first million along the way. When she had imagined building a million-dollar business, she thought it would feel like a “million dollars!”  But when she finally surpassed seven figures, she didn’t even notice it. She says, “I was too busy working. It didn’t feel like anything special. No more special than making six figures. No more special than getting a $30K job offer right after college.” Most importantly, it didn’t make Milana feel any happier or more successful. She was always busy, often tired, and even began having panic attacks, which were absolutely scary and debilitating. Sabbatical So instead of celebrating hitting a 7-figure mark, Milana decided to sell her business and take a sabbatical. After 16 years of “playing big”, she began looking more closely at her life and asking questions she had never asked before: How much money do I really need to be happy? What am I willing and unwilling to do to achieve this goal? Who am I when I am not running a business? Where does happiness come from? She discovered that she had been operating a very successful business, but it was the wrong kind of business for her. She was in “misalignment.” She had allowed her business to dominate her life. Now she was ready for a different business and a different way of doing things. Milana also discovered that she was not alone. She surveyed and had private conversations with over 500 coaches, authors, and speakers. Many of them were going through a similar soul-searching experience. Making money was not enough. They felt drained and trapped by the complexity they’d created. They were re-evaluating their entire business models. They wanted more freedom, meaning, and joy. Search for Simplicity Simplicity Circle was born out of seeing how growing a business can cause stress, anxiety, and frustration and take away from happiness and peace. And from profitability. Milana feels her greatest gift is being able to turn what seems complex into simplicity. When she works with her clients, she transforms the complexity in their businesses into a simplicity-driven growth strategy quickly and efficiently. No more trying every marketing and selling strategy out there. No more adding more ‘stuff’ to an already overloaded list of things to implement. Milana guides her clients from feeling overwhelmed, drained, and frustrated to feeling confident, energized, and excited about their businesses again.

My guest today is Rich German, who is a bestselling author, speaker, and business/lifestyle coach.  He has conducted over 18,000 individual coaching sessions and co-founded the JV Insider Circle.  With its focus on joint ventures, the JV Insider Circle is a powerful community that helps speakers, authors, and coaches grow their businesses.  Each year they host a live event called JVX, a three-day experience, which helps cultivate relationships geared towards building lasting joint ventures.  Rich’s first two books, Living the Law of Attraction and Monetize Your Passion, are content-rich books that help people improve their lives and financial situations.  Rich has a passion for helping entrepreneurs cultivate a life that allows them to take care of their own mind, body, and spirit, and to enjoy the things they are most passionate about.  Rich teaches what he knows to be true--it is possible to create a lifestyle that you love. Rich has a love for the ocean and the creatures that live in it.  Years ago Rich made spending time on his paddleboard a priority.  He has structured his life in a way that he is able to spend hours a day interacting with the dolphins and whales that call Laguna Beach, California their home.  On a whim he started taking pictures and then video, and posting them on his Facebook page.  (Check out his images here.)  His photos are breathtaking!  His time on the water has given him a mission to restore, protect, and sustain the ocean.  He created Project O, with a short-term goal of raising awareness through art, film, outreach activities, and media coverage.  The long-term goal of Project O is to help change laws in order to protect the oceans.  Rich has compiled 95 of his most amazing images into a beautiful new coffee-table book called Blue Laguna.  The sale of his new book will help fund Project O’s mission of protecting the ocean for our generation and generations to come.   Connect with Rich German: Pre-order Rich’s book here to help support his work through Project O.Rich GermanJV Insider CircleFind Rich on Facebook In this episode: [02:55] - Rich talks about how his new book came to be.
