What does it take to create a unified culture when your team spans 50 countries and includes thousands of employees? Sue Quackenbush, Chief People Officer at Dynatrace, reveals the secret sauce behind their "real vibes, real people" approach that keeps their global workforce connected. With 33% of Dynatrace's 4,000+ employees working fully remotely and the rest following a hybrid model, Sue explains how they've turned geographical dispersion into a strength. Their innovative Remote Connect Club creates virtual communities for those without nearby offices, while employee resource groups foster belonging regardless of location. Sue's passion for "making a difference" drives her people-first approach that balances flexibility with connection. The conversation dives into talent attraction and development strategies that have proven successful in the competitive tech sector. When Sue joined Dynatrace nearly three years ago, she discovered they were "consistently inconsistent" in leadership approaches – prompting her to create the comprehensive "Dynatrace Elements of Leadership" framework that now guides development at all levels. She shares why continuous growth opportunities create both stability and innovation, benefiting both employees and the organization.Perhaps most fascinating is Sue's perspective on balancing data-driven HR with human connection. "Data is critically important and I would say that it is as important as the humanistic elements," she explains, offering insights into how modern people leaders must leverage analytics while preserving the relationships that ultimately drive engagement. As AI reshapes workplace tools and practices, Sue considers both the exciting possibilities and important guardrails needed to maintain what makes work meaningful.Whether you're navigating hybrid work challenges, building leadership pipelines, or seeking ways to create belonging across borders, this conversation offers practical wisdom from one of tech's most thoughtful people leaders. In this episode of The Skeptical Shaman podcast, host Rachel White (of TOTEM Readings), chats with the incredible Cyndera Quackenbush of Story Through Stone Substack and the Archetypal Tarot podcast about the magic, wonder and spiritual power of stones.Cyndera is also the creator of the Story Through Stone Reflection Cards-- a new, 54-card deck featuring photographs of rare, billion year-old stones sourced, polished and organized by Cyndera's family. Strange and funny-ish is the paranormal world! Joining me is a great storyteller and Hudson Valley native, Thomm Quakenbush! Thomm was born in Cold Spring, NY. He is an American author of speculative fiction including his Night's Dream series. He lives and teaches in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York. https://thommquackenbush.com/LIKE, share your thoughts, and subscribe to support the Mystic Lounge channel! Please leave a review on iTunes or wherever you listen to podcasts. Thank you!Quakenbush grew up reading the works of Kurt Vonnegut, Neil Gaiman, Anne Rice, and Terry Pratchett. He later became a fan of humorous non-fiction, such as the works of David Sedaris and Bill Bryson, all of which has informed his style. He was raised in the Hudson Valley during the famous UFO Flap on the middle 1980s, igniting an interest in the paranormal, causing him to read widely about fortean phenomena. Additionally, he devoted himself to pagan religions in childhood, giving him a wide background in supernatural theories and the particulars of witchcraft, which he incorporates heavily in his works, most notably the Night's Dream series. In 2010, he received his contract for We Shadows. He subsequently published three sequels and has several others in the works. In 2011, SyFy Channel solicited the rights to We Shadows, though the deal did not proceed further. He has worked on comics with DC Comics artist Dezi Sienty under the now-defunct label of Cave Drawing Ink. He is known for askew takes on commonplace myths and the history of the Hudson Valley.PLEASE HELP THE YOUTUBE CHANNEL GROW ☕️ SUBSCRIBE, like, comment, and click the Notification Bell so you don't miss a show. From his beginnings following his family's roots to Michigan, Steve Lyman found his way to befriending the Quackenbush family, helping found The Fugitives. That result would catapult him into early Michigan rock and roll history within the band Scot Richard Case, later to be familiarized as SRC. The band became one of the first major label players on Capitol Records. Lyman's voice and guitar were to compliment the first two albums, while he honed his writing skills. Here in Part 2 of 2, Lyman discusses the parties with Traffic and Procol Harum, details of writing the first two albums, Peter Gabriel's love of SRC in early Genesis, and the psychedelic groove that his teardrop guitar stated. Further future reunions and life after SRC follow...even snippet's of songs! What an incredible 2-part series, wrap up.

From his beginnings following his family's roots to Michigan, Steve Lyman found his way to befriending the Quackenbush family, helping found The Fugitives. That result would catapult him into early Michigan rock and roll history within the band Scot Richard Case, later to be familiarized as S.R.C. The band became one of the first major label players on Capitol Records. Lyman's voice and guitar were to compliment the first two albums, while he honed his writing skills. Here in Part 1 of 2, Lyman describes the sights, the scene and an amazing trip to visit The Who. Tales of Iguana's, Iggy's, Bob Seger, and so many more tie into this stream. This is essential MMHP989 material. Ease into Part 1 of 2 --don't miss a moment!
Blurry Photober is late this year, but David is back with an episode all about Highgate Cemetery! An incredible feat of gothic greatness, Highgate Cemetery has an interesting history and hauntings to boot. David had the fortune to take a tour of the Grade I historic location, and also interviewed the tour guide, John Waite. John and David go over the history of the cemetery, including its inception, how it fell to disrepair, and how it was revived. David then gets into the history of the hauntings which are said to happen. Mysterious top-hatted figures, forlorn spectres, and rumors of vampires have plagued the boneyard for decades. David discusses these stories as well as the infamous occultist feud between David Farrant and Sean Manchester. Take a history-heavy tour of a hauntingly beautiful location in this episode of Blurry Photos!Follow me on Twitch!MusicDanse Macabre, Lightless Dawn, Ossuary 5 - Rest, Phantasm, Zombie Hoodoo – Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0SourcesJarvis, Jacob. Thanks to the powers of modern technology, we are able to connect with anyone, anywhere, without leaving our house. Little did I know that a blog review of an archery sight 15 years ago would lead me to one of my best friends on the planet. Al Quackenbush and I communicate every day, through the You Version Bible App and our daily devotionals. We text frequently, hop on Zoom calls when we can work it into our schedules and see each other once a year in person. While I wish that we lived closer to have more face time, our friendship runs deep and I am eternally grateful that God brought us together.2023 was a big year for Al and his family. After many conversations with his wife and daughter and a lot of prayer, they relocated from Southern California to Nashville in June. It was a major move for the family but one that they have all embraced and they are loving life in The Volunteer State. With a network of friends already in place, Al has access to some private land which has made deer hunting opportunities a little easier than being on the west coast. He also headed back to New York to hunt with his family and it's been a successful fall even though he has yet to punch his tag.The move also brought about a rebranding for The SoCal Bowhunter. Wanting to share his faith more and appeal to a broader audience, Faithful Sportsman will be his new moniker, thanks to his wife Kymberli.Starting off 2024 at the ATA Show in St. Louis and SHOT in Vegas, there's no grass growing under Al's feet. At the same time, he and I both plan to try and eliminate the word busy from our schedule in the new year and be more intentional about keeping the first things first. I am excited about what the future holds for my dear friend and look forward to walking with him into this new season. You can follow Al on Facebook and Instagram, visit his web page at https://socalbowhunter.com/homepage and tune into the Sprocket and Chubbs Podcast, cohosted by Al and Navy Veteran Aaron Ritter. For more information about HHAUSA and how you can support our mission, visit www.hhausa.orgTo purchases HHAUSA hats, shirts, challenge coins and tumblers, visit www.hhasports.com

Thanks guys, always love having you on Matt. Thanks for all you do for me.

Today we are joined by Stacy Quackenbush and Paige Dansinger, two women building “worlds” in the metaverse, providing people with the opportunity to learn and engage through virtual reality spaces. The metaverse hasn't exactly gotten the greatest rep since Facebook changed its name. But Stacy and Paige explain how there is a lot of misinformation that abounds about this fascinating technological arena. They discuss how they've successfully created hundreds of worlds in the metaverse as partners in Dynamite Labs. Paige has even worked with children to build worlds for a museum that they then presented to the World Health Organization. Comprised of photo-realism and three-dimensional assets (which can include NFTs), these worlds give the user the opportunity for social engagement and education. Stacy and Paige explain what building those worlds entail, the difference between Web3 and Metaverse, and how the worlds they've built have led to immersive and interactive experiences.
My close friend Al Quackenbush, The SoCal Bowhunter, returns to the podcast to finish the conversation that Aaron Ritter and I started last week. Having formed quite the bond over the last year, I was excited to get Al's take on all the happenings of a busy and fruitful 2022.Quackenbush returned to Wisconsin for HHAUSA Mission 20 in Appleton July 9th and 10th in what turned out to be an impactful weekend for so many. Connecting with Ritter in Chicago and making the short drive to Appleton to meet up with myself and Jeff Litteral, Al elaborates on just how special that weekend was for the Fab Four. The few short days we spent together went by too fast but the fellowship and memories made quickly became the highlight of the year for each of us. Good food, great conversation, plenty of archery (thanks Old 45 Archery and Twin City Rod and Gun Club) and a few pair of Hey Dudes made it hard to say goodbye on Sunday. Two months later, Al and I would connect again, this time in Nashville for an archery shoot on 9/11. An invitation from Logan White, co-owner of The Archery Den in Franklin Tennessee, led to another weekend that will live forever in my mind and the fortunate few that we spent time with. Chad Stillman, Josh Vegors, and Ira Dean joined us for a dinner and an evening for the ages. It was one of the most profound conversations that I have ever been a part of. Five guys from different walks of life sat around a table, shared their stories and lives were changed. Self-subscribed talkers, Al and I did a lot of listening that night, something that we both have wanted to get better at over the past year. We laughed, we cried and a handful of hours later, left better men than when we came. With limited hunting opportunities in Southern California, Al returned to his home state of New York in early October for a week of whitetail hunting with his family. Trying out his Latitude Outdoors Tree Saddle for the first time, he came learned a few things and with two does in the freezer to boot. His brother was able to harvest a buck Al had been targeting and it was a great week of hunting that put his archery and saddle skills to the test.Early November would reunite Santa and The Pirate once again, this time in Nebraska for a deer hunt as the rut was kicking in. While Al wasn't able to close the deal, Aaron took his best buck to date and the two friends were able to enjoy that special moment in the Navy Veteran's hunting career together. With the calendar ready to flip to 2023, our talk turned to early January and another reunion for the three amigos in Indianapolis at the Archery Trade Association Show. It will be the first time attending for Quackenbush and Aaron's second ATA. I very much look forward to seeing my friends again, knowing great memories will be made and more importantly, that God will be on the move, providing us more opportunities to touch lives through the sport of archery. I'd say that's a great way to kick off the New Year!To connect with Al Quackenbush, you can find him on Facebook and Instagram and visit his page at https://socalbowhunter.com/For more information about HHAUSA and how you can support our mission, visit www.hhausa.orgTo purchases HHAUSA hats, shirts, challenge coins and tumblers, visit www.hhasports.com
There are certain people in this life that leave a lasting, positive impression on us. You meet them for the first time, feel like you've known each other for 20 years and can't wait to see them again. For me, Aaron Ritter is most definitely one of those people.Introduced through mutual friend Al Quackenbush, Aaron and I first talked last winter and instantly hit it off. Soon after that initial conversation, Aaron formed the A3G Initiative, a grant program designed to get an amputee into the sport of archery. Wildly successful in its first year, Aaron will be kicking off the 2023 program in January and hand delivering the package to the winner at Mission 24 here in Wisconsin at the end of April. We talk about how quickly the 2022 grant program came together and how emotional and rewarding it was for Aaron to present that first package this past July. He also shares of how meaningful attending his first HHAUSA event was, spending it with like-minded people, and gathered around the sport of archery. Ritter had an eventful fall, embarking on three bowhunting adventures across the country. Without giving too much away, he headed West for a very challenging and rewarding elk hunt in Idaho in September with another Veteran. Some close calls got his heart rate up but coming home empty handed has him already planning a return trip for 2023. His next stop was in Texas on a saddle hunt for whitetails. Plenty of encounters, great conversation and new friendships were formed that will see the Navy Veteran heading back to the Lone Star State next fall, this time with his grant winner as a guest at the 4J Ranch. So inspired by Aaron's drive and heart for helping others, the owners wanted to give back and become part of his mission. Early November saw him reuniting with Quackenbush in Nebraska for a whitetail hunt in the peak of the rut that did not disappoint. I want to allow you to experience the thrill of Aaron's hunt firsthand when you listen to the podcast but the third time was the charm, complete with grip and grins, back straps, and a trip to the taxidermist. I could not have been happier for my friend when I got the text the day of the hunt and I guarantee you will share in my excitement when you hear how the hunt unfolded for Aaron. Some late season hunting still to go on the East Coast, Ritter is prepping for a busy 2023 and his first stop at the ATA Show in Indianapolis January 11th, 12th, and 13th. I look forward to connecting with him and Al there around their other commitments to Badlands and Latitude Outdoors. When it started HHAUSA, I never dreamed of the impact that some of the people I've met would have on my life and Aaron ranks right at the top of that list. A gruesome injury that resulted in the loss of his lower leg, post-traumatic stress and other setbacks have not kept Ritter down and if anything, turned him into the man he is today. A man on a mission to create positive change in the lives of others, drawing on his own experiences and living a limb-itless lifestyle. A man that I am both humbled and honored to call a brother and a friend.
