It's the second installment of our scheme to wheedle 5 star reviews from you guys! Listeners Jess Kelley, @ChiMothBoy and @AwfullyWaffly told the world we're the prettiest princess in the land, and instructed us to watch 3 different matches, and honestly we had a fricken ball. First up was the team of Naito and Takahashi vs the Golden Lovers, and we fell in LOVE with the cat man. We did mess up the NAME of the cat man, but we got there in the end. Also? Golden Lovers good at wrestling. You heard it here first! Up next was Eddie Kingston vs Mike Quackenbush in a CHIKARA match from 2011, and we spent the whole time lusting over Eddie, and peeping at all our favs around the ring. Ten stars, loved the experience. Lastly, we had our minds blown apart by a British indie match of Pac vs Cara Noir. The aesthetics! The camera work! The dramatiques! We were ENRAPTURED, and then CRUELLY were sent to hell by the knowledge that Riptide Wrestling no longer exists, and the new love of our life Cara Noir is injured. Donate to his GoFundMe here, because we MUST have this man back on our screens!

This month Jamie and Kay are joined by Trent (with Ben away on holiday) for a special episode of Purovision as they discuss their first experiences of puroresu. From Alpha vs Omega to the Golden Lovers, from Shinsuke Nakamura to Shun Skywalker, it's a range of experiences! They talk about what it was that drew them into Japanese wrestling, whether it be the seriousness of NJPW or the seeming silliness of DDT. Also, they found time to talk about Tom Lawlor's tiny shorts (again), how accessibility to wrestling has changed and even gatekeeping within puro.

Let's be honest—if you're like us, it's hard to remember what happened last week, let alone last January. With that in mind, we took a few days and went over everything that happened in the world of Pro Wrestling in 2021 for this never-ending retrospective. Who was wrestler of the year? What was the best match we saw, both live and on television? Who had the best outfit? We GET INTO IT! Jonathan even changes his mind mid-podcast. It's kind of a wild ride. All this, plus Kristina's Golden Lovers deep dive and another road trip to see AEW Dynamite in Jacksonville, including a wild street fight between Tay Conti/Anna Jay and Bunny/Penelope Ford. She's a bleeder!

So well that even WWE had to reference it!Main Event:Ever since he debuted with the Shield, it was clear WWE had big plans for Seth Rollins. We invite our ComicsXF cohorts and Match Club co-hosts, Charlie Davis and Mikey Zee, to talk about the couples in comics and wrestling who have inspired them.
Just when we think we're out, professional wrestling yanks us back in. There's not much better than two big men slapping meat. That's what we discuss here! Of particular note, we break down death match psychology, why we love Kenny Omega's goofy ass, how book publishing works for some reason and discuss the parallel paths of the Golden Lovers. All this, plus your questions! Can you believe this is free!?

In this second part of our tag team special with the Through the Table podcast, we look back at one of the greatest tag team matches we have ever seen. The Golden Lovers vs the Young Bucks at Strong Style Evoled. The sole reason this original episode went so long was due to this match. IT! WAS! WORTH! IT! It needed the breakdown it was given. A lot of backstory in order to understand what was placed in front of us. We missed Boss Ross on this episode but he'll be back next week. Please follow Through the Table on IG. And give us 5 stars on Apple and leave a review. Thanks for listening to TDT!

It's a dark week in the WWE as the company released a staggering number of wrestlers, producers and backstage personnel to cut costs in light of the COVID-19 situation. This includes the lights of Rusev, Kurt Angle, Heath Slater, Zack Ryder, Fit Finlay and more. Mister Young and FRGN discuss the implications and timing of the firings and give their thoughts on who is most likely to succeed post-WWE. Also, the Young Bucks has been a topic of much consternation for Mister Young. In a bid to be more open-minded, the podcast duo has decided to sit through one of their most acclaimed matches against the Golden Lovers pairing of Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi (as chosen by our listeners) from Strong Style Evolved 2018 to see if his opinion can be swayed. Will Mister Young change his mind by the end of the episode. Load up NJPW World with us and tune in to find out!

With only two weeks left in a miraculous year of perfect matches, in the opinion of Dave Meltzer, New Japan were able to squeeze one last five-star affair before 2018 reached its conclusion. It involved four men who have all been involved in multiple perfect matches this year, and it was one of the final chances for the IWGP Heavyweight and NEVER Openweight champions and challengers to size each other up before Wrestle Kingdom. Tanahashi teaming with CHAOS member, and fellow title challenger, Ospreay to take on the seemingly invincible reunited dream team of Omega & Ibushi as the Golden Lovers. Will this makeshift team pull off an upset and get into the champions' minds before their title defences? Lorcan (@lorcanmullan) and Simon (@simoncross3) are here to find out. lmtyspod@gmail.com
As we wind our way down to the end of the record-breaking year for five-star matches that was 2018, we have our one and only match featuring Kazuchika Okada to be a team affair, as 'The Rainmaker' teams up with his CHAOS cohort 'The Stone Pitbull' to face The Golden Lovers. It is, at time of release, the final in-ring encounter between Okada and Kenny Omega, and features four of the top performers in all of wrestling in front of an excited U.S. crowd as NJPW continues its global expansion. Lorcan (@lorcanmullan) and Simon (@simoncross3) are here to savour what they can whilst keeping up with the frantic pace of a match where everyone is accustomed to having a bit more time to get their stuff in. lmtyspod@gmail.com
So much conflict resolution abounds in this match you'd expect Dr Phil to find some way to get his publicity-seeking bald head to turn up at some point. Lorcan (@lorcanmullan) and Simon (@simoncross3) turn into gossipy soap opera obsessives this time as they try to figure out the emotional twists and turns the Jackson brothers and their erstwhile friend Kenny and reunited friend Ibushi try to sort out their issues with the use of hard palm strikes, superkicks, and table spots. lmtyspod@gmail.com

This week stumbled into yet another production oddity--the 2000 film that was meant to promote World Championship Wrestling (WCW) but ended up effectively bankrupting it instead, leaving the WWE as the only big-name player in town. Now, we think wrestling is pretty neat but our knowledge of it is...uh. Limited, shall we say. Tonight we are live at 6pm CST talking all things pro wrestling. 1-347-857-1060 is the number to chat with the team. We begin outside the ring tonight discussing the breaking news of Ric Flair, and the health he is in. Out of surgery right now, we hope to have more details come showtime. WWE finally got their man after a year or two of trying, we talk about the newest wrestler to get himself a Orlando home. GFW has stripped Alberto El Patron and what that means for Bound for Glory. Women, were sorry, but Tanahashi cut his hair and changed colors. That one was more of a joke, but he looks like Kota Ibushi now. Speaking of Ibushi, what did his Golden Lovers reunion mean after the show, and also we saw a return that almost made a building breakdown in tears. Our second fall goes Outside The Universe as we talk the G1 Climax 27 final, and the tournament as a whole. From final standings, our top 5 match grades and more. This may have been the best Climax in the companies history, and we talk what that means, and what is next for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
