The week long event starts on Monday Oct 5 and runs through Saturday Oct 10. The first four days are STEM related for elementary, middle and high school students. Friday & Saturday will feature an aerial parade like not seen before in our region. Aircraft expected to flyover Tehachapi and surrounding communities include the F-16, F-18, F-22, T-38, B-52, B-1, C-17, KC-46, KC-135, GIII, and the ER-2. Aircraft from the USAF and NASA will be in the air. Tehachapi can expect to see the parade on Friday Oct. 9 between 11 AM - 12:30 PM. Across town, General Motors was named No. 1 for gender equity in a new ranking of publicly traded companies by Equileap, which monitors and gathers data on gender equality in companies. GM is led by a female CEO, Mary Barra, and recently promoted a woman to be chief financial officer. The Tower Center, an often-overlooked shopping mall at Grand River and Greenfield on Detroit's west side, is getting a new anchor tenant. Forman Mills will celebrate its grand opening next month. It takes over the space last occupied by Montgomery Ward, which closed in 1986. The mall has seen a number of small, black-owned businesses open for business, thanks to low rents.  Corktown is in line to get another new coffee shop. Lucky Detroit will open on the second floor above Detroit Barbers. Local favorite Bucharest Grill is reopening downtown. The popular purveyor of shawarma will open at 436 W. Columbia Street with 130 seats and 24 beer taps. You can now pay those painfully expensive parking tickets on the city's free Park Detroit mobile app. And in giant pizza organization that owns two of our four professional sports teams news, Little Caesars has unveiled its new thin crust pizza nationwide. Once again, a great tragedy has overcome our nation. The crew when into detail discussing the unfortunate recent events in Las Vegas that killed at least 60 people and injured 526 others at a country music concert across the Strip from Mandalay Bay hotel and casino. In related tragic news, boxing legend, George Foreman went to Twitter to issue aikido master and actor, Steven Seagal to a 'no-holds barred' fight! What sparked Foreman to hop on Twitter to go after Seagal is beyond us, but with both men in their upper 60s, the fight wouldn’t be a draw on the level of Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor’s super fight. Total Request Live, better known as TRL, last aired in November 2008, ending a strong 10-year run for the popular MTV’s series. This is not so much of a tragedy. TRL set a lot of trends in music and television, congrats! The show made its return on Monday (Oct. 2), with DJ Khaled and Migos helping to kick off its premiere. Kanye West is a master purveyor of hype. Adidas and the “Power” rapper have announced that the 'Yeezy Calabas' track pant will get another launch (it sold out immediately back in March) on October 8.
