December 19, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 66 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they prepare to play the Detroit Lions on the road on Sunday afternoon. We open this show by going over the latest regarding the transactions that they Steelers made since our Wednesday show. We discuss OLB Jeremiah Moon being signed off the Carolina Panthers practice squad and what that might mean for the next few weeks. The steelers also signed LS Cal Adomitis to the practice squad on Friday so we discuss the possibility of him being elevated on Saturday for Sunday's game. As usual, Alex and I look at the Steelers' latest injury report for their upcoming game and how there's a possibility that several players could miss the Sunday game in Detroit against the Lions due to health reasons. The Lions' latest injury report is also covered during this segment. On Thursday, we once again heard from two of the Steelers' coordinators, Arthur Smith and Teryl Austin, so Alex and I recap the main talking points to come out of those media sessions. We welcome Dave Birkett of The Detroit Free Press back to the show on Friday, and he helps us preview the Steelers-Lions game. Birkett has covered the Lions for many seasons, and he certainly knows that team inside and out. We get his thoughts on several things related to the Sunday afternoon game in Detroit and his recap of the Lions' season to date in addition to his outlook for the team moving into Sunday in addition to his final score prediction. If not already doing so, make sure to follow Dave on X/Twitter at @davebirkett and make sure to read his work here: https://www.freep.com/staff/2648005001/dave-birkett/. After finishing with Birkett, Alex and I provide our own preview of the Steelers-Lions game. We break down what we are looking for out of each team on both sides of the football Sunday afternoon. Alex and I then give our picks against the spread for the remainder of the Week 164 NFL games provided by show sponsor MyBookie.ag. We also give our final score predictions for the Steelers-Lions game. This 104-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted above and we end this episode by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. The Detroit Lions head into Steelers week with a sharper injury picture and a clearer offensive to-do list. Thursday brought both concern and relief. It also underscored where this NFL team must win situationally, and how the Detroit Lions Podcast sees the fixes lining up. Injury Ledger and Depth Moves Graham Glasgow did not practice with a knee after being listed as a full participant in Wednesday's walkthrough. That is a setback. He has stabilized the interior and played better since the 10-day break. Taylor Decker returned on his standard rest plan. Thomas Harper stacked a second full practice and should clear concussion protocol, putting him on track to start at safety. Sione Vaki moved to full. That helps special teams and sub packages. Giovanni Manu was officially activated. The knee injury was a hyperextension, not surgical. Practice reps are the priority. He needs every snap he can get, even as a scout team tackle or emergency sixth lineman. The planet theory applies here. Athletes that big who move like that are rare. The realistic goal is tackle three next year. Getting him back in the building now accelerates that plan. Morton's Offense After Rams Coordinator John Morton loosened up in front of the mics and still drilled the core point. Detroit must get off the ball better in the run game. The Rams teed off when the Lions showed two backs. Safeties crashed the A gap and squeezed the edges. Tight end blocking did not hold up. That shrank lanes for Jahmyr Gibbs and wasted early downs. The Detroit Lions still scored 34, but the tape says there is meat left on the bone. The fix is personnel. Stop leaning on 12 when you do not have two NFL-caliber tight ends available. Lean into the wideouts. Jameson Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Isaac TeSlaa and Kalif Raymond give Detroit burst, leverage, and spacing. More 11 and spread looks stress rules without telegraphing the run fit. It also creates cleaner access throws that let Gibbs and Amon-Ra work after the catch. Morton even joked about foot speed with Williams and Gibbs. The speed is real. Use it. Special Teams and Steelers Prep Dave Fipp backed Jake Bates after a rough outing. The kicker had a bad day. It happens. Confidence from the coordinator matters in December. Hidden yards and calm operations matter even more. The Steelers are up. That front punishes hesitation. Detroit's path is simple to say and hard to do. Win first contact in the run game. Keep protection firm if Glasgow cannot go. Feature tempo and spacing. Rotate receivers and challenge leverage. Trust Bates when points are on offer. The Detroit Lions Podcast view is consistent. Health is trending up, the offensive identity is clear, and the details now decide games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afM4bK-Jj3s #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #dailydlp #grahamglasgow #thomasharper #concussionprotocol #taylordecker #sionevaki #giovannimanu #johnmorton #tightendblocking #jahmyrgibbs #jamesonwilliams Learn more about your ad choices. Our final episode of this Courage My Friends season features a December 10th Human Rights Day Panel Discussion, the first of a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Community Worker Program at Toronto's George Brown College. Community workers and human rights advocates, Brianna Olson Pitawanakwat, Samira Mohyeddin, Diana Gallego, Desmond Cole and Diana Chan McNally discuss the meaning of human rights in Canada 77 years after the UN adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, critical issues facing us today and the power of solidarity-driven, rights-based organizing. Speaking to Canada's approach to human rights, Pitawanakwat says: "A big wakeup call was a couple of days ago when the UN passed the International Day Against Colonialism and Canada abstained. Because Canada is very much still rooted in this colonial mechanism and ideology here … In Anishinaabe culture, we don't rely on the idea of rights, rights are a European construct. We rely on the idea of responsibility … If we relied on human rights, we would be in a dismal place, which is where we are today." According to Chan McNally: "Every time you see an encampment that is someone exercising their right to housing by literally making their own tent.We have downloaded the responsibility directly on homeless people to ensure their own rights. And criminalizing even that action of survival ... It's ludicrous, ludicrous to me." Speaking to the importance of community work, Cole says: "People are doing it in this school and in this program. The reason that I always say yes, when you ask me to come here … I was homeless myself more than 20 years ago when I moved to this city. Somebody who took a community worker program referred me to a youth shelter and changed my life. For real." On the role of independent journalism, Mohyeddin reflects on her upcoming documentary about the pro-Palestine student encampment at UofT: "Our corporate media was vilifying these young people. And you know, my motto for journalism has always been to 'Make mad the guilty and appall the free.' And I think that if we operate from that place, even as citizens, we can really make a change." On the power of solidarity, Gallego says: "The system want us being isolated. Solidarity is a word they trying to penalize … Solidarity is going and bringing the power that the Indigenous community have with the Palestinian movement. Bringing the solidarity of the unions back to us, back to the people.Being a community worker … Being the first face that a refugee is seeing in Canada and seeing the welcoming and seeing the support, means a lot." December 5, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 59 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they prepare to play the Baltimore Ravens on the road on Sunday afternoon. We open this show by going over the latest regarding former Steelers CB Darius Slay, who was waived by the team this past week. We discuss him not reporting to the Buffalo Bills after they claimed him off waivers and whether he will now just go ahead and retire. We make sure to tackle a few things that Slay said about the Steelers and HC Mike Tomlin during his Thursday night podcast interview with Emmanuel Acho. Alex and I move forward in this show by looking at the Steelers' most recent transactions made and the team's Thursday injury report. We talk about the team likely not having backup T Calvin Anderson this week due to a knee injury and how it's looking like rookie CB Donte Kent won't make it back from the Reserve/Injured list this season. We also discuss the Steelers secondary seemingly being dinged up heading into Sunday's road game against the Ravens. The Ravens are dealing with several key injuries this week as well and so Alex and I recap what their Thursday report said and how there are really just three players to watch closely on Friday's report. We discuss Ravens QB Lamar Jackson likely playing through his ankle injury on Sunday. On Thursday, we once again heard from two of the Steelers' coordinators, Arthur Smith and Teryl Austin, so Alex and I recap the main talking points to come out of those media sessions. We discuss whether the team will finally start playing TE Pat Freiermuth more than TE Jonnu Smith based on what Smith had to say about the two players on Sunday. A few comments made by Austin concerning the team's defense get our attention in this show as well. Steelers S DeShon Elliott and OLB Alex Highsmith are both in the news this week for their off-the-field community activities, so we recap those items. New Steelers WR Adam Thielen talked to the media on Thursday, so we go over a few things that he had to say. We discuss the level of potential impact that Thielen might be able to make on Sunday against the Ravens and which wide receivers might lose some snaps should the newest Steeler indeed be active against the Ravens. We welcome Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Banner back to the show on Friday, and he helps us preview the Steelers-Ravens game. Shaffer has covered the Ravens for many seasons, and he certainly knows that team inside and out. We get his thoughts on several things related to the Sunday afternoon game in Baltimore and his recap of the Ravens' season to date in addition to his outlook for the team moving into Sunday. If not already doing so, make sure to follow Jonas on X/Twitter at @jonas_shaffer and make sure to read his work here: https://www.thebanner.com/author/jonas-shaffer/. After finishing with Shaffer, Alex and I provide our own preview of the Steelers-Ravens game. We break down what we are looking for out of each team on both sides of the football Sunday afternoon. Alex and I then give our picks against the spread for the remainder of the Week 14 NFL games provided by show sponsor MyBookie.ag. We also give our final score predictions for the Steelers-Ravens game. This 131-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted above and we end this episode by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. We all know by now that plants grown in living, thriving, life-filled soil, give us living, thriving, life-filled food... but the steps to getting there in the face of a multinational industry devoted to toxic, nutritionally empty, addictive - and highly profitable - ultra-processed 'food-like substances' are harder to see. This week's guest, Daphne du Cros, spends her life deep in the mycelial networks of food and farming systems, bringing both into genuinely regenerative balance. Daphne is a food policy researcher, educator, and farmer. She holds a PhD in Food Policy at the Centre for Food Policy at City St. George's University of London, and a Master's in Environmental Science and Management from Toronto Metropolitan University in Canada. She is Director and Coordinator at Shropshire Good Food Partnership; Director at Light Foot Enterprises; Project Lead at Food Forward BC (where BC stands for Bishop's Castle, not British Columbia or any of the other potential options) - and she's co-owner of Little Woodbatch CIC, a farm just outside BC that hosts the Bishop's Castle Community Seed Bank. She is the author of the town's Community Food Resilience Strategy - the only such policy in Shropshire.Daphne and I are relatively near neighbours, we have swapped seeds - her more than me - and share ideas about systems thinking and how we might evolve our world. She's deeply involved at every level from actual growing up to governmental meetings trying to get those in power to find some wisdom when it comes to food resilience, food security and all the other things we say as we try to get them to move away from the corruption innate in our system towards something that actually works in service to life. November 28, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 56 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers as they prepare to play the Buffalo Bills at home on Sunday afternoon. With the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens both losing on Thanksgiving, Alex and I discuss the importance of the Steelers beating the Bills at home on Sunday. We talk about how a loss to the bills could potentially limit the Steelers' Wild Card spot chances down to one spot, assuming they don't ultimately win the AFC North division. Alex and I move forward in this show by looking at the Steelers' Thursday injury report, and specifically what the current outlook is for QB Aaron Rodgers, CB Joey Porter Jr., and WR Ben Skowronek when it comes to Sunday's game. We discuss the likelihood of OL Andrus Peat being the starting left tackle on Sunday with T Broderick Jones sidelined for this Week 13 contest. The Bills are dealing with several key injuries this week as well and so Alex and I recap what their Thursday report looked like and how it seems Buffalo is likely to be without their two starting tackles on Sunday. We also talk about the Bills recently signing veteran WR Bradin Cooks and the role he might have against the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. On Thursday, we once again heard from two of the Steelers' coordinators, Arthur Smith and Teryl Austin, so Alex and I recap the main talking points to come out of those media sessions. We talk about what Smith had to say about hunting for more explosive plays on offense and what Austin had to say about some of the woes the team's defense has had. We welcome Matt Parrino of Syracuse.com back to the show on Friday, and he helps us preview the Steelers-Bills game. Parrino has covered the Bills for many seasons, and he certainly knows that team inside and out. We get his thoughts on several things related to the Sunday afternoon game in Pittsburgh and that includes his analysis of QB Josh Allen, OC Joe Brady, and the several injuries that Buffalo is dealing with this week. Parrino gives us his outlook for the 2025 Bills moving forward this season and while he doesn't give a final score prediction on Friday morning, he gives his early thoughts on how he sees the Sunday game in Pittsburgh going and which team he's leaning toward picking as the winner. If not already doing so, make sure to follow Matt on X/Twitter at @mattparrino and make sure to read his work here: https://www.syracuse.com/staff/mparrino/. After finishing with Parrino, Alex and I provide our own preview of the Steelers-Bills game. We break down what we are looking for out of each team on both sides of the football Sunday afternoon. Alex and I then give our picks against the spread for the remainder of the Week 13 NFL games provided by show sponsor MyBookie.ag. We also give our final score predictions for the Steelers-Bills game. This 129-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted above and we end this episode by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices.
