O álbum "Elementos" da banda de jazz Sapocaya é um projeto conceitual mais ambicioso que o EP de estreia do grupo lançado no ano passado. Desta vez, os jovens músicos persistem na temática da natureza, mas ampliam o repertório com a introdução de novas influências, instrumentos, sons eletrônicos e arranjos inéditos com a participação de cantores. "Elementos" foi divulgado no dia 28 de novembro e o show de lançamento está marcado para a próxima terça-feira (9), na casa de shows New Morning, em Paris.  O novo álbum da banda reflete o trabalho que começou há cerca de um ano e evoca os quatro elementos da natureza: terra, ar, fogo e água. A ideia dos jovens é surpreender, tanto no que diz respeito ao conceito do projeto quanto às composições, como disse à RFI o fundador da banda Jamayê Viveiros, flautista e trompetista.   “O álbum traz muita coisa, é um projeto bem maior. O primeiro EP tinha seis títulos, nesse já são 12. A concepção do álbum foi realmente fazer transições, com três músicas por elemento, já que o álbum é ‘Elementos'. Cada elemento vai crescendo”, explica o músico, que destacou que o elemento ar, por exemplo, é apresentado nas composições "Brisa", "Vendaval" e "Furacão", o elemento ar se manifesta, enquanto a água é revelada em "Chuva", "Ribeirão" e "Enchente". O mesmo vale para o elemento terra, que abre o álbum gradativamente com "Raízes", passa pela "Floresta" e culmina em "Terremoto". Já o fogo é evocado pelas faixas "Brasa", "Chama" e "Incêndio". Intercâmbio musical França-Brasil Este novo trabalho é resultado de um intenso intercâmbio cultural e musical entre a França e o Brasil, que permitiu à banda gravar com renomados músicos brasileiros.  Este novo trabalho é resultado de um intenso intercâmbio cultural e musical entre a França e o Brasil. As viagens permitiram à banda gravar com renomados músicos brasileiros e franceses, inspirados por um dos maiores nomes da música instrumental brasileira e reconhecido internacionalmente por sua genialidade e inovação sonora: Hermeto Pascoal.  “A gente teve a sorte de gravar com Carlos Malta, multi-instrumentista brasileiro que tocou com Hermeto Pascoal durante muitos anos, com o Bernardo Aguiar, com o Frederico Heliodoro, e com os cantores Matu Miranda e Thais Motta, todos músicos excelentes que a gente conseguiu gravar lá no Brasil. Foi uma experiência mágica para a gente. Conseguimos gravar com amigos aqui na França e também com esses músicos incríveis no Brasil”, enfatiza Jamayê, destacando a presença de samba e ritmos afro-caribenhos nas novas músicas. Introdução de novas sonoridades  Enquanto o trabalho anterior do grupo era fortemente influenciado por ritmos do Nordeste, ‘Elementos' demonstra uma maior abertura musical, incorporando novos sons. O compositor e percussionista Tristan Boulanger, também fundador do Sapocaya, fala que se inspirou ainda em ritmos indígenas e usou referências de manifestações religiosas como o candomblé, após ter tido aulas de percussão com Luizinho Indiano (Aluísio Lúcio Ferreira) em Ilhéus, Bahia. “É essa mistura que representa nossa música. Essa terceira vez que fui ao Brasil foi diferente. Acho que dessa vez eu estava um pouco mais livre para falar com as pessoas. Eu falo um pouco português agora e foi a oportunidade também de gravar com músicos brasileiros no Brasil. É uma experiência incrível de trabalhar realmente com músicos dessa tradição”, diz Tristan. Uma das mais recentes integrantes do Sapocaya, Charlotte Isenmann foi ao Brasil — assim como a maioria dos demais músicos — para se aproximar dos ritmos que fundaram a banda. A flautista compartilhou os detalhes do que mais a inspirou após voltar do Brasil. “Para mim, foi especialmente um concerto do Hermeto Pascoal que ouvimos e que me inspirou para a música, porque, através de elementos super primários como a água, flautas de bambu e brinquedos, ele conseguia transmitir uma energia muito grande, além de expressividade e muita emoção. Eu sentia essa energia até mesmo no público. É verdade que isso me inspirou bastante ao retornar, depois de ter encontrado todos esses músicos, ouvido essa música, porque foi realmente algo novo e intenso”, revela Charlotte. Vozes no álbum ‘Elementos' Os jovens inicialmente não tinham intenção de usar vozes no repertório do grupo, mas os rumos mudaram após conhecerem Matu Miranda, cantor de MPB que se apresentou em Paris em 2024. Juntos gravaram o single ‘Avante', que não faz parte do novo álbum, mas rendeu uma segunda colaboração na composição da faixa ‘Brisa' em ‘Elementos'. Já a cantora Thais Motta participou em ‘Ribeirão', uma mistura inédita para a banda de jazz, com o uso de pandeiro e voz em uma composição pela primeira vez. Além do show de lançamento de ‘Elementos' na casa de shows New Morning, no 10º distrito de Paris, o Sapocaya já tem datas para outras apresentações pela França a partir de 2026, com divulgação pelo Instagram da banda.

He will give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and he will guide us all to the path of peace. Zechariah's song is a song worth singing. It is because of God's tender mercy that this morning light is about to break upon us. And Mary has a song, too. And she sings, “How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he took notice of his lowly servant girl.” God's light shines upon the lowly. His light breaks upon the humble—on all who are willing to let God be God in them, on all who are willing to believe that all that God says he will do, he will do. When our humble faith meets God's merciful morning light, his song rises within us, and we begin to experience something new. Zechariah and Mary have a song. And if we want, we have a song too. When we meet each day with faith and the possibility that God is with us, that God is good enough, big enough to meet us and favor us in our lowliness, in our hunger, in our shame, in our lowly lives—when we begin to encounter the God of love—a song begins to rise up in us. Join Zechariah and Mary and all those who humbly believe that God is good enough to take notice of the lowly, and that he is big enough to do what he said he would do. So let that song rise up and join in with John and Mary, lifting your voices in praise to him. That's a prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my wife, for my daughters and my son. And that's a prayer that I have for you. May it be so.
