So why did Facebook deny the large veteran apparel company's "Florida Strong" T-Shirt ad campaign? We asked Nine Line Apparel CEO, and former Army Spec Ops pilot Tyler Merritt ... and apparently it's a much bigger story. We talked about why he believes Facebook is showing prejudice against certain types of advertisers based on their speech, content, and political ideology. He cites examples of how Nine Line Apparel has been previously banned on the platform and describes a new battle between the Betas and the Alphas. Merritt also shares the story of the Nine Line brand and the huge philanthropic impact they're making. Plus, what it's like being a "Nightstalker" pilot with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, flying combat missions, and casualty evacuations. For more on Nine Line Apparel and the "Florida Strong" T-Shirt campaign to help hurricane victims check outhttps://www.ninelineapparel.com/See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
The Veteran community is at a loss with the events unfolding but how come one person is praised a hero & the other isn't being mentioned? Say it with your chest. THE FACTS! ALL OF THEM! 41 year old Zachary Scalf took the life of 28 year old Madalyn Coulter then took his own. This is not a 22 a day issue, this is DV and mental illness issue. If you are struggling, get some help, put your guns away, and talk things through. Zachary's behavior and actions are inexcusable. The lack of accountability is baffling. Janae, Bridget and I sit down and hash this story out because a lot of folks are too afraid to speak up about this... WHY IS THAT? HOW? - - - - - To my male counterparts, don't turn a blind eye to abuse/exploitation of our female Veterans in order to preserve the “brotherhood”. The signs were there. We scream from mountaintops and remain unheard, y'all whisper and the community stops to listen. -janae_perfectlyflawed @ninelineapparel #madalyncoulter #zacscalf #22aday #dvawareness #veteran #MurderSuicide Connect with us: Janae: https://www.instagram.com/janae_perfectlyflawed Jess: https://www.instagram.com/jesscjaimes/ Bridget: https://www.instagram.com/beautybyb____/ News article: Thank you for sharing Madalyn Coulter's story

For some Veterans coming to the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System isn't just a quick trip around the corner. Sometimes they come from many hours away due to the size of our catchment area, and sometimes they're here for a very long time and their families need a place to stay. That's where the Fisher House comes into play. Located on our campus, the Fisher House is a 16 room lodging facility where the families of any Veteran or Active Duty servicemember undergoing care in Las Vegas can stay free of charge. On this episode of The Nine Line, we talk with the staff of the Fisher House here in Las Vegas about how the House serves members of our Veteran and Active Duty community, what kind of support it takes from the local community to provide that service, and what drew them to working for the Fisher House.
The VA strives to provide care to patients that is safe, high quality, and centered on the needs of the patient. But care like that doesn't just happen naturally, it takes a tremendous effort from a multitude of people to ensure the safety of our Veterans. It involves not only the people who directly see a patient, but also supporting staff like our housekeepers and even the Veteran themselves. On this episode of The Nine Line, we speak with representatives from Patient Safety and Quality, Safety, Value Departments to talk about the ways we create a culture of safety, some of the reporting methods to identify and correct potential patient safety concerns, and discuss some of the ways Veterans can be a part of the patient safety process.

Last week, Jonathan Van Ness, star of Queer Eye, came out with his memoir and an interview with NY Times about life managing HIV, sexual abuse, and drug addiction. They are all pressing issues in the queer community and in this episode, we dive into drugs. Whether we like to admit it or not, drugs are all around us. They are at parties, festivals, and even the bars we frequent. Both legal and illegal drugs are being used and abused and for us to build a more mature relationship with it - it is to talk about them openly. Tyler Merritt, CEO of Nine Line Apparel joins Beav and Alex for episode 12. As an Army Captain, Tyler was assigned to the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. Tyler was a special forces Apache helicopter pilot(yes for real) his unit was deployed more than any other special operations unit to this day. This gave Tyler a unique experience trying to build and keep moral with in his overworked team. Moral shirts were just the beginning as Tyler “fell” into the t-shirt business, and started Nine Line Apparel while still at war in 2012. The Nine Line Foundation, a Non-Profit organization, was started in 2013 as an effort to give back to Tylers friend and West Point classmate, Captain Edward Klein, who lost three limbs while deployed in Afghanistan. The Foundation built CPT Klein a new home that is wheel chair accessible, as well as helping with the enormous rehabilitation costs. This would take Tyler and Nine Line down a path of passion to help those in need within the Military community. Based out of Savannah, GA, The Nine Line Foundation has now started a community of 74 tiny homes called the Veterans Village. A place for homeless Vets to transition back into civilian working life. Not only are they given housing, Nine Line provides work training and skill building for the Veterans. All of which is volunteer based, meaning 100% of the donations go straight to those in need. Among all of this, Tyler is also a father and husband that has struggled to find that elusive Work/Life balance. The guys get into what its like to be a deployed husband and father, VS now being a busy CEO and Non-Profit Founder. All of this and more, on Episode 12 of the Tactical Baby Gear® Podcast.
This week in Savannah, Anthony Oliver is indicted after an arrest for stalking. The Civic Center is going to be torn down and replaced with the original Oglethorpe Plan. Nine Line responds to Colin Kaepernick's Nike Betsy Ross flag shoe takedown. And more!
Tyler Merritt is the founder of Nine Line Apparel, the relentlessly patriotic company that thrives on starting conversations between those who serve this country, and those who enjoy the benefits of that service. While Tyler admits he knows nothing about apparel, he does know his way around business and in this episode, he shares how he made all the pieces of the entrepreneurial puzzle fit. Listen in as Tyler talks about his inspiration for his company, his principle for management that has grown Nine Line to massive success, and his new initiative to end veteran homelessness. Beyond the Bullet Points Podcast - Stoddard's Range and Guns
Ken Baye of Stoddard’s Range and Guns interviewed Matt Lyda, President of Business Development for Nine Line Apparel. Nine Line’s designs are unique and provocative and its growth is astonishing. Matt explains how Nine Line Apparel started in a garage five years ago and grew to a $14 million a year company that supports veterans both inside and outside the company. How did Nine Line get started? What drives the vision? What challenges come with such meteoric growth and what does Nine Line look for in the employees it hires and in the veterans and causes it supports? What makes it, as Matt puts it, the “greatest company on earth?” The post Nine Line Apparel – “The Greatest Company on Earth” appeared first on Stoddard's Range and Guns.
In the first 1/2 hour of The Tami Jackson Show* I will be talking to Yoni Tidi. Yoni is a friend and Orthodox Jew. He served Israel as a master sniper and a member of one of her anti-terrorist units. When he left that unit he was second in command of the all-volunteer, special operations unit. Tidi is an American citizen, as well as an Israeli citizen, and never shies away from straight talk. Yoni's latest venture is a top-tier cybersecurity venture, CyberGhostGlobal. Cyber Ghost is a leading cyber security company with a different approach than mainstream cyber security companies, who use only conventional cyber security approaches. CGG uses a wider set of tools that, when combined with their specific knowledge and experience, ensures data security. Cyber Ghost is born out of an existing Israeli company that has been in private practice for 16 years. All Cyber Ghost cyber personnel are Mossad cyber experts. (they can say Mossad since their people are still doing reserve duty with the Mossad.) Cyber Ghost Global is registered as an exporter with the Israeli Ministry of Defense and operate under its regulation. As usual, this will be a fun conversation as Yoni and I discuss the current situation in the Middle East, Trump's proclamation of Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel, other hot political topics and of course, Cyber Ghost Global! ************************ In the second half hour I will be joined by Tyler Merritt. Tyler Merritt is a Co-Founder of Nine Line Apparel -- with his wife, Angela, his brother, Daniel, and their friend, Myles Burke. Merritt is a former Apache Helicopter Pilot turned Special Operations Air Mission Commander in the 160th SOAR. Following his graduation from the United States Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Army Captain Merritt was deployed multiple times to Iraq, Afghanistan, the Arabian Peninsula, and South America. CPT Merritt most recently served as Executive Officer to C Co, 3-160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR). He previously served as a West Point faculty member. In the military, a Nine Line is a medevac request for a soldier that is injured on the battlefield. To soldiers, a Nine Line symbolizes patriotism, hope, and trust in one's countrymen. As a life-style brand, Nine Line Apparel aims to reinvigorate the sense of patriotism and national pride that is disappearing daily from our society. Where politics and dissent divide our country, we hope to inspire unity and brotherhood among all Americans as patriots under our common flag. At its core, Nine Line is a give-back organization, forever striving to be their brother's keeper, and encouraging others to do the same. We support a multitude of initiatives beyond raising awareness, and financially back organizations that help those in need. From first responders to military charities to disaster relief initiatives, Nine Line is committed to ongoing support of charitable initiatives. No matter the circumstances, we've got your six. To learn more about our Foundation, please visit Nine Line Foundation. Tyler and I will be discussing patriotism in America and those NFL players who kneel during the playing of our National Anthem. In keeping with the theme of all their apparel -- supporting those who have served and are serving -- Nine Line created an "I Stand" line of shirts. Mongol Derby Racer Tim Finley A few weeks ago I interviewed Keith Swenson of Stone Horse Expeditions, a horseback adventure company operating in Mongolia. Keith talks about the wonders of Mongolia and how you see them on horseback. It's a good show, you can listen here: Play Stone Horse Podcast. I received several emails from people telling me how much they enjoyed hearing about Mongolia. One listener and friend, John Zeliff, emailed to suggest I interview Tim Finley who competed in something called the Mongol Derby. While I hadn't heard of Tim or the Derby, I headed to the interweb for a little research. The Derby Wow! The Mongol Derby is the longest horse race in the world. One thousand kilometers or 621 miles across Mongolia. A group called Adventurists, who raise money to help environmental issues organizes the event and want to have fun doing it. While about 40-50 riders start the race, only a little more than half finish. They are riding Mongolian horses. Each horse rides 25 miles. Each rider picks one of the horses from a string. We learn the mechanics of the race from Tim Finley. Tim Finley Tim Finley had a career as an Air Force Captain with a tour in Iraq and was part of the Honor Guard. As with many servicemen, Tim struggled with PTSD from his experiences. Because the Air Force is unlike the other armed forces, getting help is more difficult. Horses turned out to be a great outlet for him, particularly when he found a horse at a killers sale. Tim worked with apparel maker Nine Line bringing awareness to returning veterans committing suicide after returning home. Tim is out of the Air Force now and wrote a book he hopes to publish soon about his experience with horses. And, now he's working on another about the Mongol Derby. This year he plans to ride in several endurance competitions. If you're looking to try endurance riding, Tim recommends checking out the American Endurance Riding Conference on Facebook and the AERC Website Get Free Helpful Horse Tips There is a "Join Our Email" list at the top of this page.
