Forty-third Episode released on 03/31/2020. A year ago to the date, we lost Nipsey Hussle, who was truly prolific in many eyes. I remember hearing about his passing while I was working out at the gym. I texted a few of my friends the news and was in disbelief. I instantly felt anger, as I felt the world we were living in was so messed up. Now look, a year forward, we are all inside and a virus has taken over the world for the time-being. You never know which way life is going to go. It truly is a marathon and it keeps continuing, just as Nipsey so often preached. This episode is dedicated to the prolific artist, who's lyrics, resonated with me on so many levels. I know I'm not the only one who felt the power in his music. No matter who you are or where you are from, I promise you, the theme's inside of Nipsey's music are worth diving into. I hope you are all staying healthy and strong in these strange times. The marathon continues, and Nispey Hussle's legacy lives on. RIP. Still thrilled to be bringing you more content and I appreciate any and all feedback. Continuing to use my voice to spread growth to the world in my own way. Today's episode touches on the following topics: 1. What does hope mean to you? 2. Most people want to be happy in life, but you should matter in the end and have significance. 3. Having faith, in whatever it is you pursue, because self belief is powerful. Thank you and I'll catch you later. Anna tweeted " God was Judas" on a random day which fascinated me and cause this conversation to happen. Anna Flores is an author, poet and Co-Founder New Carpa Collective. Currently in the MFA program in ASU, where she found an essay titled "The Three Versions of Judas" by Jorge Luis Borges which sparked this conversation. It started with a dissection of previously mentions biblical character, to Nispey Hussle and the dilemma of Truth. Hope you all like this! It was a great conversation! Music by @sinsafos
On this episode Mokah-Jasmine Johnson and her co-host DJ Blaq Star Part 1 introduces the concept of Hustle Economics in honor of Nispey Hussle. Nipsey was an American rapper, business man and father who was senselessly shot and killed March 31. Despite this tragedy, he left behind a legacy and a blueprint for his fans, family, and peers that could be utilized to break the cycle of poverty through entrepreneurship and investments. This episode sponsored by Shatki Yoga Athens and AADM. How did he make a difference? February 2019, Nipsey purchased Marathon Clothing store, prior to open his clothing store, he also launched Destination Crenshaw, a new arts project, open-air museum and outdoor art and culture center celebrating black Los Angeles. Donated school clothing and shoes to and funded the renovation of a Crenshaw elementary school’s playground and basketball courts. Established Too Big To Fail as part of a partnership with Vector90 which led to the opening of a coworking space for a STEM initiative for local youth and the list continues. So he not only gave back to his community, he made wise investments that could help break the cycle of poverty within his family. Stay tune for Part 2. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/mokah-speaks/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mokah-speaks/support
