What up Fellas!

On this episode of BSTV, Ya Boi Shad & G. Downs sat down with the legendary Alley Boy. They discussed his upbringing in the Edgewood neighborhood of Atlanta, sharing insights into his life and experiences. Alley Boy candidly spoke about his involvement in drug dealing and addiction, including his struggles with codine cough syrup and the subsequent damage it caused to his kidneys, revealing his allergy to opiates. He also regaled the audience with stories of his early passion for rap music, starting at the tender age of nine and honing his craft by learning how to format a song. Alley Boy then recounted the genesis of the record label Duct Tape Entertainment, highlighting his role as the first flagship artist. He candidly addressed the pressure he faced to become a superstar, acknowledging the challenges and sacrifices he made along the way. The conversation took a dramatic turn as Alley Boy spoke about his involvement in an armed robbery and murder charge at the age of 18. He then shared a heartwarming story of meeting Gucci Mane at the age of 17, describing a friendship that has endured to this day. Alley Boy also spoke about his mentorship under Big Bank Black, taking on a leadership role in his early career. The conversation continued with Alley Boy reflecting on the day he signed with Atlantic Records, expressing regret for not choosing Def Jam Records. He candidly discussed his dissatisfaction with the promotion he received from Atlantic Records, feeling that they didn't fully support his artistic vision. Despite this, Alley Boy remains proud of owning his masters and publishing rights, ensuring that his legacy will continue to thrive after he's gone. Alley Boy then delved into his close friendship with hip-hop superstar Future, sharing stories of their lifelong bond and shared upbringing in the same neighborhood. He also addressed his long-standing feud with Jeezy and T.I., expressing his belief that Jeezy lacked genuine character. Despite this, Alley Boy maintains a cordial relationship with T.I., emphasizing that their beef was never serious. The conversation concluded with Alley Boy's move to Los Angeles to collaborate with hip-hop legend Master P and Fat Trell. He also spoke fondly of his close friendship with Nipsey Hussle, recounting the time he brought Hussle to Atlanta for the first time. He also spoke on once moving to Denver to acquire knowledge about cultivating marijuana. Subsequently, he delved into his conflicts with his former collaborator, Yung LA, explaining that he had to distance himself from him because LA was not in a state of mental well-being. He also briefly touched upon the passing of his close friend and labelmate, Trouble. Lastly, he discussed his upcoming projects and the new music he will be releasing soon. https://www.youtube.com/c/BadSpeakersTV https://www.instagram.com/badspeakerspodcast https://www.tiktok.com/@badspeakerspodcast https://twitter.com/BadSpeakers https://www.facebook.com/badspeakerspodcast

Rob Dix is an investment fund adviser, co-presenter of one of the UK's most popular business podcasts (The Property Podcast), and the author of four best-selling books about property investment. We hosted Rob last January to discuss ‘The Price of Money' and I'm delighted to welcome him back to chat about his new release ‘Seven Myths About Money & the Truth about Finding Financial Freedom' There is no doubt the financial system has changed and you can expect to learn why 2020 spelled the end of the old order and what the rules of the new game are. As the title to Rob's book suggests we are going to be covering 7 myths about money including if you work hard enough today, retirement will be your reward, the correct way to invest involves reducing risk as much as possible, compounding returns are the eight wonder of the world, and many more. Today's conversation is with Ruari Fairbairns. Ruari is the co-founder of One Year No Beer, podcast host and Ted-X Speaker. Having built a successful career as an oil broker, Ruari went on a journey to redefine his relationship with alcohol and has gone onto build and inspire a movement that empowers others and challenge society's perceptions about alcohol. Expect to learn the potential cost alcohol can have on health, productivity, and relationships, the deep rooted societal impact of alcohol, the power forces, traditions and advertising spend which engrains it into so much of our lives, and why you don't have to conform. Like any time I've discussed a conscious reframing of alcohol and elective sobriety on the podcast, this episode does not necessarily address those impacted by Alcohol Use Disorder or an addiction to the substance. Today's conversation is primarily focused on seeing where alcohol is holding uni back from your potential and seeing what you could unlock. Many of us have ideas that could make a great business. Most of the ideas, however, never see the light of day. It can feel like a big leap from physician to entrepreneur. So how do you do it? We speak with Dr. Jason Hine, the founder of SimKit, and see how he went from community emergency medicine doctor to successful business owner. In this episode, we cover how Jason started his business, accounting for the knowledge gap between clinician and entrepreneur, setting boundaries, why saying hell yes has a critical proviso, the inevitable oscillation between passion and money, and a marketing exercise that's critical to walk through before you even consider jumping in on a new product or business.

Cam Scorey suggested that I talk to Brett Partridge since he's another Aussie detailer. Meeting Brett for the first time he told me of starting detailing as a side Hussle. His 9-5 was working in the mines in Australia and when word came around of layoffs, Brett decided to make the jump to detailing full time. 4yrs later and he hasn't looked back staying booked out Brett eventually hired a worker to help him keep up. Brett is in a small town but is lucky enough to have clients coming from as far as 3hrs away to have them work on their cars and trucks. He loves classic muscle cars and does a fair amount of them. I received a message on Instagram from Mckenna over at Lithium Auto Care saying that they enjoyed the podcast. We got to talking and I extended an offer for Bill Crawley the company's CEO to come on and do a product spotlight. Lithium is a car care company based out of Utah and their products are proudly made in the USA. They make everything you need to maintain and protect your vehicles exterior and interior. Some of their best sellers are their interior line of leather cleaners and conditioners. For the exterior they have a wonderful pH balanced soap, carnauba wax, a sealant polish and trim restorer. Deputy DA John McKinney received his law degree from UCLA in 1997 and worked at superior courts in South Gate, Whittier, West Covina, and Compton. Mr. McKinney also worked in the V.I.P. unit which was a small, specially trained group of prosecutors who handle cases involving special victims, like the Special Victims Unit portrayed on the NBC show “Law and Order SVU.” John McKinney also prosecuted high-profile murder cases while assigned to the Major Crimes Division. His most recent trial involved the death of Grammy award-winning rapper, businessman, and voice of South Los Angeles, Ermias Asghedom, aka “Nipsey Hussle.” I secured a first-degree murder conviction against Eric Holder Jr. in the vicious shooting of Hussle. Nipsey's death was a great loss to his family, fans, and the entire community in South Los Angeles. John Mckinney is currently running for head DA for the city of Los Angeles. Five years ago, Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle released Victory Lap, his only full length album. It was the high point of a career stretching back to the mid 2000s, when Hussle started releasing mixtapes on his own record label — mixtapes that brought him respect from artists like Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar, but were not widely heard. Victory Lap brought him both the critical acclaim and commercial success he deserved — It hit #2 on the Billboard 200, and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rap Album. But only a little over a year after its release, Hussle was shot to death outside his clothing store and community center in Crenshaw. In some ways, Hussle's tragic end has overshadowed his incredible life as a musician and community activist. In this conversation with Justin Tinsley, host of the podcast King of Crenshaw, we listen deeply to Victory Lap to hear Nipsey's identity as an artist and consider the legacy of his debut album on its 5th anniversary. Songs Discussed Nipsey Hussle - Victory Lap, Dedication, Hussle and Motivate, Last Time That I Checc'd, Real Big Arctic Monkeys - Knee Socks Jay-Z - Hard Knock Life Snoop Dogg - Y'all Gone Miss Me More Listen to the King of Crenshaw podcast.
