“At A Crossroads with The Naked Podcaster - Baring it all Emotionally and Spiritually” is for Christians who want to develop more self-confidence, courage, and self-esteem. It's unconventional, gritty, explicit, raw, edgy, vulnerable, and is a representation of baring it all emotionally and spiritually. It’s important to be raw and vulnerable through storytelling and embrace the freedom that’s gained through sharing ourselves with the goal that our journey will help others. It is time for YOU to break the chains of the lies we tell ourselves and the negative self-talk that has been holding us back. NOW is the time to start exploring the hidden potential of your confidence and beauty both inside and out! I’m Jenn Taylor the host of At A Crossroads. I’m Mom Of 18 (yes, 18 kids!), a Transformational Coach for Christian Women. I am licensed as a Transformational Coach and NLP Practitioner. I've also had targeted training on topics such as crisis intervention, drug & alcohol addiction, surviving trauma, and suicide prevention, which has equipped me with a solid understanding of many of the issues that plague our society. It’s been my mission for over 4 years of podcasting, to be raw, genuine, and vulnerable so that your journey can be faster, easier, and more supported - and that’s what I ask of my guests as well. If you’re struggling - I UNDERSTAND… I’ve been there before. I have always considered myself a Christian, however, I have struggled with my faith lining up with my decisions. ** I’ve been divorced more than once and I struggled with the desire to stay through thick and thin, following scripture references, and my heart telling me to leave and how that related to the baggage I carried with me from childhood. ** I left a church after 17-years and that battle was emotionally draining and heart-wrenching. As a result, I lost all the support that I had and was left feeling lost and alone and also tremendously relieved. ** In my divorce(s), I struggled with figuring out who the real me was, reclaiming my identity, not losing my identity while parenting, balancing work, kids, and self-care, and not losing my sanity. ** All the issues that come up in parenting were at times overwhelming, I realized none of us know what we’re doing, and I was determined to give 100% every day in every situation. Some days that looked like I was crushing it, other days it looked like a fraction. ** In my search to find a new church that I was comfortable in (and the struggle to determine what I was looking for), I had “analysis paralysis” and did nothing. During the times when I did find somewhere to go, it was confusing and created conflict with my kids, so I stopped going. That is one thing I regret. In many ways I am very raw and always authentically myself, however, I thought that being an example in my faith was enough, which I now see as being passive and that was something I felt a burning desire to change. I learned to not only embrace all the parts and pieces of who I am, but I also learned to face any fears and move forward in confidence. I am thankful for all that I have been through and I am blessed to share with you my journey of life's crossroads. You are not alone. At A Crossroads with The Naked Podcaster is for Christians who know that there is more to life and that our true authentic souls are built for greatness. You are built with strength and love that is meant to shine through in times of conflict and times of celebration, and you are ready to get to work and live your true purpose. Welcome - I cannot wait to bare it all with you! Hebrews 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Bare it all with me

I have always been spontaneous and loved adventure and travel and possibility. - Decided to get married. Decided to have kids. 3 years later, not pregnant. - lucked out to be living in Cambridgeshire England (we're Canadian) at that exact time, as IVF was covered by public health for 3 rounds. - felt grateful and lucky- One fresh round, pregnant. Early miscarriage. - frozen round, 2 put in, one baby created on Canada day, ironically, and brought me my first child. - gestational diabetes, frequent monitoring, super healthy, early induction 37 weeks and 4 days. - emergency c section, with plenty of trauma, blood loss, full general anesthetic, baby with group b strep, 9 days in the hospital, husband not allowed overnight. - baby sick with snotty cold full 2nd month- then I felt like I was born to be a mother for 3 years. Brought my baby with me on adventures, Built a community of other spontaneous folk. - Got pregnant with second with no IVF, somewhat without trying- took control of birth, doula, different hospital, the full deal. - 2nd child 3 years apart. Very hard. Couldn't meet everyone's needs. Isolated in England. - Moved back to Canada March 2020 in height of pandemic - a dark year of feeling no purpose- then started an applied positive psychology course, then the coaching course, and found my community of people who want to learn similar things to me and found myself again. - now, I coach, I learn, I take small courageous steps and I'm building The Courage Club, where women meet, play, laugh, and try new things together to build our courage muscles...so that when we want to go for that big, audacious dream, our bodies and brains remember that we can do scary things. Mel Findlater is a passionate Possibility Coach, nature lover, and mother of two, dedicated to helping women embrace their big, audacious dreams with courage and playfulness. Depression, Anxiety, Parenting, NLP & Hypnotherapy Practice with Craig Meriwether - S7 E58Starting when I was a teenager I struggled for many years with depression and anxiety. It was with the birth of my son that I found the resolve to heal. Both born in a hospital using anesthesia and post care medications.-I was never taught about how important pre- and post-natal care is during my parenting journey (aside from "walk as much as you can" and "take prenatal pills every day") and thought that physical activity was the most important aspect. -I've since learned that nutrition should be a fundamental aspect to everyone's journey whether they're a parent or not and to also be made aware that hospitals and doctors might not properly inform you on vital information that could save some women from a lot of negative side effects both long-term and short-term.-I also want to give hope to moms with older children that it's never too late to take you and your children's health into your own hands and give simple solutions to very busy people to be able to live healthier, more fulfilled lives.I've owned my own personal training gym as well as a small spa and now I do marketing for Vital Earth Minerals while still doing fitness consulting on the side. FIND HER HERE:https://www.instagram.com/vital_earth_minerals/www.vitalearthminerals.com

    -  I am not a parent, but  I am a DONA International certified Birth Doula working in North Carolina - I did not learn about what a doula was until the age of 26 years old in graduate school. Once I learned about the field, it instantly clicked for me. I've always been fascinated with birth but never wanted to be a nurse or doctor. - I had some fears around becoming a labor support doula and not having gone through childbirth but my training reassured me that I was able to do the job - I learned of the Alliance of Black Doulas for Black Mamas (which was rebranded to LEADDoula) through an email listserv that a friend sent me, because she knew I wanted to be doula - ABDBM or LEAD was strictly for Black women who wanted to become doulas, and was focused on serving black birthing people and their families - It was a 6 week program with culturally tailored education, included all required DONA International training to become certified, and afterwards, we were required to serve as doula for at least 3 births to be eligible for DONA certification  - Between the program and my own clients, I've had 13 births - Fun fact: My first birth was a cesarean section  - I love serving as a birth doula because of the relationships I have built with the moms and families I've served. Being with a woman at her most intimate and vulnerable time of childbirth is such a special gift FIND HER HERE:linkedin.com/in/jnmclean3

It took me 8 years to get pregnant. I went through loss, IVF, many (MANY!) diet changes, holistic modalities -- and nothing was working. I decided to become a Life Coach so that I could stop suffering through the uncertainty of it all. In my certification, I learned mind-body tools that helped me to eventually get pregnant naturally -- and now I teach women all around the world to do the same. I also wrote a new best selling book called: Fertile Ground, that I'd love to promote on your podcast. It teaches women the mind-body approach to getting pregnant -- without it taking over their lives. I believe that the trying to conceive journey can be incredible parenting prep. It taught me the tools I needed to handle the uncertainty of conception, pregnancy, labor, and motherhood. To let go of perfectionism and to trust myself. It was a catalyst to step out of "what I was supposed to do" and into what made me feel at peace -- even if it was different from the norm.  I am a life and fertility coach.  FIND HER HERE: www.spenserbrassard.com Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/spenserbrassard/ Book:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1K62D7S?ref_=cm_sw_r_ffobk_cp_ud_dp_9R2J3RV9HEB73EGXQ0HQ&skipTwisterOG=1&bestFormat=true&newOGT=1

I was previously an educator and early child interventionist speech therapist but was brought to my knees when I became a parent I tried to fit into the box of what parenting should be like but realized that I needed to follow my own heart and gut feelings as well as my child's cues about sleep schedule, nursing times, and other parenting pieces right from the start of becoming a parent I learned to throw out the parenting books which really made me so nervous about labor and delivery- but it wasn't until after I had my first baby. Luckily, I grew so much in that first experience that I was in such a different place with my second baby. I got to have a mother's blessing before having my second baby and even though she came a month early and was in the NICU for a couple of days, we had such a better experience because we were all connected with ourselves and with each other, including the connection between my husband and myself I love sharing these pieces with the listeners of my podcast and other podcasts so that parents can look at empowering themselves and hearing their own hearts and guts before they even have kids. We can get so swept up in trying to stick inside of society's box of how we should parent even during our pregnancies I host a conscious parenting podcast where we provide parents tools for raising mindful children. I was an educator and early intervention speech therapist before having my two spirited, gifted, highly sensitive, and neurodivergent kids. He had a fall from our bed, just 18" off the ground, and suffered a large brain bleed.  He had an emergency craniotomy and a few days later he had a stroke.  He'll be 12 years old on 10/19/2024. Within it, she leverages her over 25 years of expertise (including as a NICU nurse) to share groundbreaking insights at the intersection of maternal mental health and fetal development. The book is an enlightening and practical guidebook for mothers to help them navigate mental health challenges during and after pregnancy.  A timely topic, in 2023, the White House, under the advisement of the Centre for Disease Control and the American Psychiatric Association, issued a report stating that the United States faces alarmingly high rates of perinatal mental health conditions, such as prenatal & postpartum depression and anxiety, and tragically, these preventable conditions are the leading cause of pregnancy-related deaths in the country. Dr. Kingston is an excellent interview subject to discuss the latest scientific understanding of how maternal mental health affects fetal development. My journey to parenthood was marked by 6 years of longing and uncertainty. I endured numerous medical procedures and the heartache of repeated disappointments. Accepting that parenthood might not be part of my story was challenging. I was open to adoption, but it also presented its challenges. In 2013, after one final attempt at IVF, I was blessed with healthy twin boys. This moment transformed my journey into one of profound joy and fulfillment. With over 20 years of experience as the founder of Lucky Chick Beauty, I was familiar with life's ups and downs as an entrepreneur, but nothing prepared me for the challenges of making a baby. While others seemed to achieve parenthood easily, my path was more complex. I faced the demands of injecting medications and surgically implanting embryos. Today, my fertility struggles put life's challenges in perspective. I'm grateful that more people are open about their struggles, helping others feel less alone on their journey to parenthood. My fertility journey now guides me in both my business and life. It was a test of perseverance that everyone must endure to thrive in the world. Mom Of Non-Verbal Child With Autism Helps Him Communicate & Write A Book - Laura Hirsch S7 E29

LOCAL EDITION EPISODE! Mom Of Non-Verbal Child With Autism Helps Him Communicate & Write A Book - Laura Hirsch S7 E29 More Than Meets the Eye is a collaboration between a mother and son, Laura Hirsch and Trevor Hirsch. Trevor was diagnosed with regressive autism at age three. He is now 25 years old. He does not say a lot verbally, however Trevor learned how to play the piano and sing songs when he was 21 years old. Then, two years later, he started doing Spelling 2 Communicate, and learned to spell on a letterboard what he couldn't say verbally. He spelled to his mom that he wanted to write a book with her about his life to inspire others. Trevor even chose the title of the book. As an author of numerous books, Laura knew she had to tell Trevor's story. This method is giving a voice to the voiceless millions who have been trapped in a silent cage, and have been misunderstood their entire lives.   If this wasn't enough, since Trevor has been doing Spelling 2 Communicate, he has been able to share with Laura that he has other gifts of telepathy and mediumship, and has proven that he can communicate with his horse, and angels (people in spirit). There is so much More Than Meets the Eye in so many people that appear to be cognitively disabled, when in fact, their disability could be a motor planning disability. What if they have been in there all along, hearing and remembering everything their entire lives, but just not able to get what is in their mind into verbal communication? Spelling 2 Communicate moves communication from the small motor movement of speaking to the large motor movement of using the arm to point to letters on a letterboard with the assistance of a communication partner.   This book challenges the mainstream view of people with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, and will empower people to get their nonverbal loved ones “on board.” With the autism rate in America at 1 in 36 and rising, with 40 percent of them considered nonverbal, parents need to know what is new and possible. Through spelled communication, many former nonverbal people with autism are finding their voices and changing their lives and futures. A spelling revolution is underway. I was happily going through life devoted to my career as a healer and massage therapist. I then went back to school in my mid-thirties to get my Masters in Oriental Medicine. Suddenly I started feeling the clock ticking, even though I was extremely busy and did not have a partner at the time. I had always been hesitant to bring a child into this world, but did not want to miss out. Five years later, I did end up getting married and carried a baby into the end of the first trimester before I had a miscarriage. I was 42 years old. It was then that I learned for the first time that miscarriages, especially in the first trimester, are extremely common. I connected with many women who suffer this trauma silently. Never-the-less, I was devasted. I started studying everything I could about infertility and how to fix it. That is when I discovered the work of Weston Price, a dentist in the 1930s. His ancestral, nutrient dense diet was an integral part of cultivating a new, more wholistic approach to how I view fertility and women's health. I ended up leaving my first marriage a year after my miscarriage. I remarried and my second husband and I tried for a while. I was fully into peri-menopause by my mid forties and I knew my body did not want to have a child. We participated in two adoption trainings, including Foster Care. In the end we chose a different path and we both really enjoy being the “fun aunt and uncle” to our nieces and nephews. It takes a village. I consider every illness or seeming mishap as an opportunity to study, learn and then serve my patients from a heart centered perspective. I really enjoy teaching about how to prepare your body for pregnancy as a process similar to building the soil in the garden. Natural fertility treatments are slower, yet much better for a woman's body and for the baby's health. Seeing the babies I helped bring into the world at a super market or farmer's market is a really joyful reward. I am a Doctor of Oriental Medicine practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine in Reno, Nevada. I practiced massage for 15 years and acupuncture for the last fourteen years. I specialize in relieving chronic pain, optimizing hormones and digestion and women's health. I enjoy doing patient education and teach classes on qi gong, acupressure and nutrition. Working mom - An attorney for 21 years specializing in childbirth cases. Parenting and working has always been a challenge, particularly since I am married to a busy business owner. My husband and I worked together closely when raising kids, plus had great support from his parents. This allowed me to travel the country for work. I am also a bestselling author and that journey did require me to spend less time with my family. It took 14 months and 1000's of hours to write the book. I get up at 3:00 am everyday and usually in bed between 7pm and 8pm. The book was published in June 2023. Author of the Book a "A Parent's Guide to a Safer Childbirth." As an attorney that specializes in childbirth cases, I have analyzed the mistakes that are made during labor and delivery. Drawing on this knowledge, I authored the book "A Parent's Guide to a Safer Childbirth" to help parents prevent these mistakes and have a healthy baby. Rather than merely getting involved after an unfortunate mistake was made, I am getting involved before childbirth to help prevent these mistakes. LOCAL EDITION EPISODE! I've been a pseudo-stepmom to my boyfriend's two kids since entering their lives five years ago. We waited a long while before I even met his now 18-year-old daughter and now 12-year-old son. We've very much taken everyone else's perspectives and experiences into consideration when it has come to the pace of our relationship. We're absolutely soulmates, but we're not married yet simply for bigger-picture reasons and also some financial reasons. Although marriage has always been part of the conversation.  We have my boyfriend's two kids 50% of the time, week on and week off. The daughter graduates high school this year, so changes are definitely in store in the coming months. I personally always desired/chose to be child-free. However, I made the choice to accept and welcome my boyfriend's kids into my life. On the good days, I feel like I'm getting a piece of something that I would've not experienced being child-free. But on the tough days, it can be extra hard. I just super appreciate everything my boyfriend has done to help secure respectful relationships between me and his kids. I own Kaia FIT Sierra, a women's fitness and nutrition program with four Reno-Sparks studios that are accessible to all members, as well as online workout options. We focus on personalized training in a group atmosphere through eight group class types to help women find their hard, have fun, achieve their goals, and connect with our community of supportive women. I also manage social media accounts for several small business clients. I have a 19-year background in all things journalism/media/marketing, which has made me an expert in all things social media, including graphic design (which I occasionally teach a class about at the University of Nevada, Reno).  I'm also exploring getting into the commercial real estate market. Parenting After Growing Up Needing To Heal Trauma & Crisis with Teresa Walkerley- S7 E17

LOCAL EPISODE!  First time I ever did a drug I was 5 years old. My father tried to rape me when I was 11 yrs old. My mother tried to beat me when I was 12yo. My brother and I were on meth when I was 14 yo and he tried to have a weird romantic relationship with me. I left home at 16 yo.  I say all that so you know where I came from with how I grew up and the parenting skills I started with. I waited until I was 30 to have children because I wasn't sure if I was going to fuck up my kids if I had them. I had gone through so much growing up and I was still relying on pot and alcohol to cope and escape stress in my life. I also had an abortion at 18 and I wasn't sure if I'd ever be ready to parent nor did I feel I deserved to have children after being careless. But my hormones kicked in when I was 29 and I turned into an animal about having kids, lol. Literally, I could only think about having kids and how I must become a mom, lol. I'm laughing to myself about how quick I changed my mind and how determined I became.  Fast forward, I became determined to be a great mom. I would be different then my parents, I thought. I'd do everything right and my children would listen to everything I told them because I would pour my love into them. ...yeah, that didn't happen. After we had our 2nd child, our 3 year old became uncontrollable. So I took parenting classes, saw a child psychologist to get advice on how to parent him, read um-teen parenting books, watched videos and trained myself to become a better parent. It was so hard. My husband traveled, I had no family to help but to be totally honest, I was a control freak. So even if I had help from him or family, I would have wanted everything done my way, when I wanted it, how I wanted it. Ha! I'm so glad I'm different now...how I've learned and grown, thank God. Fast forward to 2024, my children are 15 and 12. I've gone through another challenging time with parenting. My husband has been ill. We weren't sure if it was terminal. He started to show signs of his illness (Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy) November 2023. It hit hard March of 2023. Our 15 yo went off the deep end, getting caught just outside of school drinking. He was selling vape pens and his friend had pot to sell as well. Our 12 yo started compartmentalizing all of her emotions pretending everything was "normal" and ok with our family. My husband got back into the old pattern of our relationship and his parenting style. He and I have been married for 20 years. We were separated for a year and a half before we decided to give our marriage another try. His behavior towards us wasn't new as most people would say once I told them what was happening behind the scenes. It was amplified understandably so since he lost his ability to walk, he has been in constant pain and we hadn't been able to get his treatments for months. Doesn't mean the behavior was ok, just means it makes sense about it being amplified. We have had the most tremendous support. I started to drown in all of the chaos. But in the summer of 2023, more help poured in. We're in a much better emotional place in our family. I realized my partnership as husband and wife with Sean is over. But I have been determined to nurture our friendship while we work on him getting better. Our son is still riding the line at the deep end. Our daughter has finally asked for help. We're all in counseling. And with the help of professionals and the willingness to do the work, we're taking this crazy journey on the path to success. I am an Intuitive Life Coach. I use Astrology, Mind/Energy work, and Myers Briggs Type Assessment Indicator in my coaching practice. I also use feng shui with clients (coaching or stand alone)  FIND HER HERE: www.teresawalkerley.com https://www.facebook.com/teresa.walkerley https://www.instagram.com/teresawalkerley/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/teresa-walkerley-69615666/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPKhklkkYGtagB5ehWce24g --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/becoming-parents/message

Positive Parenting Through Divorce with Sarah Armstrong S6 E94

Here are some tips to dispel the myths of the miserable divorce, how to talk to children and promote a good divorce, which is one in which the children come first: ● Show your success and happiness with your head held high. Attend your children's events and school meetings with your ex, gracefully acknowledge your children's time spent with your ex as an important time for development for your children, and focus on self-care for yourself.  ● Half-truths about your divorce can mutate and spin out of your reach. Share your situation with a limited number of people, especially at work and among friends too, so that you can control the flow of information and protect your children from misinformation about the details of your divorce.  ● Children are impressionable regardless of their age. When telling children, generally less is more and simpler is better. In the best divorces Sarah has witnessed, the children are unaware of why their parents got divorced.   ● Gossips fuel the myth of the inadequate divorced parent. Surround yourself with “energy givers,” Sarah says, not energy takers, which is what gossips are. Don't imbibe them.  Sarah offers inspiring personal stories of how she worked with her ex-husband to structure their divorce, and she provides sage advice for taking practical steps to work toward a good divorce.  Sarah Armstrong is the author of The Mom's Guide to a Good Divorce: What to Think Through When Children Are Involved. She is also Google's v-p of global marketing operations and is based in San Francisco. - I am a mom of two kids, ages 7 and 3 at the time of the podcast  - For me, one of the hardest parenting transitions was maintaining a sense of self as a working parent, and finding time for the things important to me.  Travel was always a big one.  - Before kids, travel was how I stayed grounded and inspired and connected to my dreams and life goals. It was how I reduced stress, and cleared my head.   - Traveling with kids can be harder, full of chaos -- but I learned it can do the same thing.   - After my youngest had surgery on his cleft lip at 8 months old, during COVID, we were exhausted.  We took an incredible family trip together and really reconnected, and came back with more energy and enthusiasm for life.  - After that trip, I decided to pivot from my career as a lawyer to launch a family travel company.   My goal is to encourage parents who value travel to keep taking those trips with kids -- and to help them do it  in a way THEY enjoy too.  It doesn't have to be all about the kids. It can be about mom and dad too and, in fact, planning trips with your OWN wants/needs/goals in mind can help the whole family have a better, more connected experience.  After being a lawyer in private practice for 15 years, I now run a family travel company.    My website is a resource for new parents looking for travel inspiration from someone who understands the unique challenges of traveling as new parents.    FIND HER HERE: www.mangotreetravel.com instagram.com/mango_tree_travel --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/becoming-parents/message
