The second record from Salem's Childe, Unbound, showcases the band's growth as songwriters and musicians from 2020's The Sin That Saves You. From the fast-paced tension of opener “Closer to the Bone” to anthems like “Rise & Conquer” and the closing beefed up and energetic take on The Cult's classic “She Sells Sanctuary,” the nine-song record takes the listener on a lyrical and melodic journey that maintains the band's aggressive accessibility while pushing boundaries and inviting engagement.Since its inception, Salem's Childe has defined and redefined itself musically, while following one rule: taking the best of what they love from their diverse influences and forging them into something that reflects those influences without trying to sound like them. The result is a hard-hitting and energetic genre-defying mix of melody and aggression that finds itself as equally at home in the mainstream as it does the underground. In 2020, the band released its debut full-length album, The Sin That Saves You, through Pavement Entertainment, following that up the next spring with a well-received cover of Sponge's iconic radio anthem “Plowed.” In 2024 the band finished and released its second record, Unbound. From appearances at events such as Milwaukee Metal Fest to storming their way across the US while supporting Misfits legend, Doyle, the Indiana-based band is no stranger to the national stage and will soon be announcing upcoming tours in the fall of 2024 and winter of 2025 in support of the new record. Originally written on the road, this song is a note to the ones back home, promising to be back in December. The new version was produced by The Nixons and Kerry Crafton, who worked with the band on their first full length LP, Halo. Lead vocalist Zac Maloy says, “I always wanted to have a holiday song. You know, one of those songs that you start to hear every year when the season rolls around.” The Nixons have also released a lyric video for the new version of “December” via Pavement Entertainment. Featuring dynamic visuals and performance shots of the band, this video highlights the rewritten lyrics while celebrating the original version of the song. When asked about the changes made, Maloy says, “The original song ‘December' was more about missing life events but assuring loved ones that I'd be home in that last month of the year. I wanted to rewrite some lyrics to lean in to the holiday spirit of it all. While I love the original, we took a more no frills approach this time around. We realized when we played the song live a few winters ago, it kinda rocks. So we hope fans enjoy this new, edgier, rockin' holiday tune!” Hailing from Oklahoma City, The Nixons are comprised of singer Zac Maloy, guitarist Jesse Davis, bassist Ricky Brooks, and drummer John Humphrey. The band made a name for themselves in the ‘90s, releasing hit songs “Sister,” “Happy Song,” “Wire,” and “Baton Rouge.” For more on The Nixons, visit: https://www.thenixonsofficial.com/

Solo rock artist Wes Cage unleashes his new single “The Wolf” via Pavement Entertainment. Co-written with Keith Wallen from Breaking Benjamin, Cage breathes fresh life into the rock scene with a memorable, meaningful song for listeners everywhere. Listen to “The Wolf” on all streaming platforms here: https://orcd.co/wescagethewolf “I hope this song resonates with the masses and is embraced as a symbolic work of art that encourages triumph and hope,” says Cage. “‘The Wolf' is about the spiritual dichotomy of the higher and lower self.” To further illustrate his vision, Cage has released the official music video for “The Wolf,” which recently premiered on Metal Injection. Produced by Glitter and Gold Media, and filmed at Le Grand Restaurant in Los Angeles, California, the video shows Cage contending with darkness while searching for the light. Cagenotes, “In the video, I play the two contrasting incarnations of the same character. His lower self, in his case, is one of destitution, zero self control, addiction, oblivion and failure, while his higher self is depicted through a being who is of power, elevation, awareness, organization and overall success. Both forces live in us all.” By Cage's own admission, battles with addiction once saw him digging his own grave. An advocate for recovery who went to the depths of despair and emerged that much stronger, Cage's music speaks with a wisdom beyond his years, shaped by hardened experience. Now a dedicated family man in his early 30s, Cage embarks on a courageous new chapter, creating ambitious hard rock no less lacking in authenticity or edge but designed to connect on a bigger scale. His music is equal parts reflective and inventive, with hooks that resonate with diverse crowds.
