As he gets ready for the release of his latest solo album, Myles Kennedy opens up about what it's like releasing records under his name, the 20th anniversary of Alter Bridge's debut and more.

Cris Hodges was originally on A-SIDES at the early part of 2023 for Episode 117, just as he was about to embark on tours opening for Alter Bridge, Fozzy, and Ugly Kid Joe. On this episode, Cris shares interactions and lessons learned on the road, joining Grey Daze, performing the Collision Course songs with In The End and their guest Avery Hardin, finding peace, and maintaining positive mental health. With a remarkable track record playing across the United States, as well as being a multi-instrumentalist in numerous genres, it is clear he has a unique perspective when it comes to creating music. Hailing from Parsons, Tennessee, his interest in various instruments started at a young age when he began reading music in kindergarten while also gaining experience in the family band at church. By the late 90s, Scotty began expanding on his knowledge of music genres and branching out to multiple styles such as percussion and classical guitar performance before earning his spot as the band leader of the official NASCAR Rolling Thunder band for an entire season. His accomplishments continued when around the early 2000s, he won fourth place in the world during the International Blues Contest while representing Memphis, Tennessee.         Shortly after, Scotty collaborated with a new original group and recording artist, Ash Bowers, along with Jason Aldean's label, Broken Bow Records, as well as the sister label, Stoney Creek Records. It wasn't long until Scotty decided to start his own original project, an indie rock band called Trash the Brand. He had wanted to record and play songs that he had written but never had the chance to play. Within weeks of forming, he was playing to packed houses and venues which in turn caught the attention of a few people in the music industry. Soon Scotty found himself in contact with Jeff Hanson (manager of Creed and Saving Abel), who offered to manage him. While negotiating, he asked Hanson to put him on the show with Saving Abel that was happening that weekend in Memphis. He was given the opening spot for the concert. Myles Kennedy is the lead singer of the band Alter Bridge, he is also the lead singer of Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. That much you should know, but Myles is also an accomplished solo artist and on the best vocalists in rock, plus one of the hardest working and one of the nicest people I know. Last week out of nowhere Myles announced his third solo album The Art of Letting Go due out on October 11th. With that, he also released a new song called "Say What You Will. So I immediately shot off a message and asked Myles to come back and fill us all in. You can see Myles on tour this fall in Europe and this winter back state side.

Interview with internationally-known guitar maker and musician Paul Reed Smith. 2024   Paul Reed Smith - Eightlock is a band of high-level musicians who are friends and have “locked” together recording and performing a new kind of groove with its roots in Baltimore funk, DC go-go and New Orleans swing. The band's sound is a heady brew of blues, soul, rock, funk and other roots sounds, all stirred-up into a groove-alicious gumbo. The line-up is three drummers, a bass player, a female singer and three guitar players, and the excitement around their three drummer groove is infectious.
