If We Don't Talk About Jesus, Who Will? Romans 10:14-17 "But how can people call for help if they don't know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven't heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them unless someone is sent to do it? That's why Scripture exclaims, A sight to take your breath away! Grand processions of people telling all the good things of God! But not everybody is ready for this, ready to see and hear and act. Isaiah asked what we all ask at one time or another: “Does anyone care, God? Is anyone listening and believing a word of it?” The point is: Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ's Word is preached, there's nothing to listen to.” We are all called to evangelization. What does evangelization even mean? According to the Diocese of Trenton, “Evangelization means bringing the Good News of Jesus into every human situation and seeking to convert individuals and society by the divine power of the Gospel itself.” This could look different for each one of us. I have a friend who feels called to share the Psalms with those he meets. When he does, people are often moved to tears, and it opens doors for him to talk about other parts of the Bible. I have another friend who likes to spend time mentoring women in all that Jesus wants for them. She meets people right where they are and uses the scriptures to show how they can live their lives in a big way. Some people like to go out onto the streets and talk to the homeless people about God and Jesus. Other people like to go door to door asking if they can share the Good News of Jesus with all those they meet. There isn't one special way that you have to evangelize. There also isn't a set rule on whom you have to evangelize to. Sometimes we might feel more comfortable talking about Jesus within our family. We might talk about Jesus to our siblings, our parents, or even our children. Other people might feel uncomfortable talking about Jesus with their family, but they are perfectly fine talking about him to strangers or to their friends. Whatever feels best for you is a great place to start. I say a great place to start because sometimes it is good to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new. It's great if you start by talking about Jesus with those you feel more comfortable doing so with, but then over time, as you become more and more comfortable talking about Jesus, you can branch out and start talking to others about Him. The verse above says, "But how can people call for help if they don't know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven't heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them, unless someone is sent to do it?” We live in a world where there is so much noise and so many distractions. We don't know who to listen to these days. This verse is saying: how can we call for help when we don't know who we can trust? And how can people know they can trust Jesus if we aren't talking about Him? If they don't know who He is? It is our job, each and every one of us, to teach the world who Jesus really is and that they can trust Him. Even if you just start with your spouse or your children, tell them about Jesus. Tell them about all of God's promises that Jesus came to fulfill. Tell them they can trust Jesus. God is our comfort, our shield, and our protector. If you didn't already know that, wouldn't you want to? I am not talking about going out and forcing your beliefs on others. I am talking about sharing the Good News with those willing to listen. Next, the verse says, “That's why Scripture exclaims, A sight to take your breath away! Grand processions of people telling all the good things of God!” How great would it be if we were all talking about God? The verse is saying that it would be so beautiful, it would take our breath away if we saw grand processions of people telling all the good things of God! Doesn't that sound like something you want to be a part of? Doesn't that sound exciting? Can you picture it? Instead of being afraid to talk about your faith because you don't want to offend anyone, you freely walk down the streets proclaiming the Good News of Christ Jesus. When I picture that, I think of a time when we used to vacation at this military place called “Fourth Cliffs.” We would go camping there over the Fourth of July weekend. Every 4th of July, they would have a little parade. This parade consisted of a pickup truck with an American Flag attached to it. Anyone who wanted to participate in the parade walked behind the truck shouting “Happy Birthday America!” and “Happy 4th of July.” It was so much fun. When I hear the part of this verse that says “a grand procession,” I picture a whole bunch of people out in the streets talking about how amazing Jesus is! The verse also says, “But not everybody is ready for this, ready to see and hear and act.” We can't do anything about those who are not ready to see, hear or act. That is a job for God. God needs to soften their hearts, open their eyes and ears. We are not responsible for the fruit of our labor. It is not our job to make sure everyone we talk to hears what we are saying. It is only our job to say it. We don't have to put pressure on ourselves to say the right thing to everyone all the time. We don't have to stress about not knowing what to say. If we just follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit, God will take care of the rest. God will make sure what we say takes root in the people we are talking to. We don't have to worry about that. God is so good! Next, the verse says, “Isaiah asked what we all ask at one time or another: “Does anyone care, God? ' " Is anyone listening and believing a word of it?” I like how this says, we all ask at one time or another. I think this is so true. Especially if we have children. We teach them the ways of God, we tell them about Jesus and how much He loves them, and yet we often have no idea if they are hearing what we are saying. Do they believe all that we are saying? Do they believe any of it? What about our friends and family members? Do they believe what we are saying? Are they even listening? The verse ends with, “The point is: Before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ's Word is preached, there's nothing to listen to.” This brings us back to the beginning. It is not our job to make sure everything we say is heard or understood; that is God's job. Our job is just to get the information out there. Before anyone can trust, they need to listen, and if we aren't talking about Jesus, then there isn't anything for them to listen to. Take a moment and think about how many people you meet throughout your day. Think about how you could incorporate Jesus into the conversation. Maybe come up with a few one-liners about Jesus or God that could fit into most conversations. Or, practice listening to the Holy Spirit, so you can know when He is prompting you to share the Good News of Jesus with someone. Think of how you can share Jesus with your friends and family. One great way is to love them. Sometimes we teach people more with our actions than we ever could with our words. Especially if we are talking about Jesus, and yet we are not loving people and treating them with respect. In that case, our actions will be much louder than our words, and they won't hear anything we are saying. We are all called to share the Good News of Jesus. How you do that is up to you and God. Ask Him how He wants you to share, and He will tell you. Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless all those listening to this episode today. Lord, we don't want to keep you to ourselves; we want to share you with others. Please help us. Show us how you want each one of us to share with those around us. Give us the courage to share even when we're nervous or scared. Help reassure us that you will guide us in what to say if we ask, and if we listen to you guiding us. Lord, we love you, and we want everyone to love you. Please help us tell about all the amazing things that make you so incredible. You are the almighty one. You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. We are so very grateful for all you do for us, and we ask all of this in accordance with your will and in Jesus holy name, Amen. More details are emerging after an American flag was displayed upside down at a Somali Independence Day event in Minnesota, sparking both outrage and apologies in a situation that has gone viral on social media in recent days. The St. Cloud Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital that on July 3 at 5:29 p.m., the department received a call that the U.S. flag was being flown upside down on a city flagpole at the Lake George Park Pavilion during a Somali Independence Day event.A video from that event, exclusively obtained by Fox News Digital, showed the flag upside down as event attendees, roughly 500 people at peak times, enjoyed the festivities. The department said the officer "corrected the flag without objection" and that organizers "indicated to City staff that the flag being flown upside down was not intentional."Police leader blasts ‘spineless' Mayor Frey, Minneapolis City Council for Somali gang problem, staffing woesJoe Gamaldi, the national vice president of the Fraternal Order of Police, joined Liz Collin on her podcast to talk about policing in Minneapolis.Somali gang problem captured on camera from the 4th of JulyThis past weekend marked yet another violent Fourth of July in Minneapolis. Dozens of car windows were smashed, there was a homicide, and several people were injured by gunfire—with some of it caught on camera.Despite the danger to the public, many local leaders seem unwilling to publicly acknowledge that there is a Somali gang problem in the city.Gamaldi, however, had a lot to say about policing and crime in Minneapolis.“I think Mayor [Jacob] Frey likes to talk tough with everyone, but I think we all know he is completely spineless,” Gamaldi said.“Because these gangs know that even if they are arrested, they're just gonna be let right back out over and over and over again,” he said.Gamaldi pointed out who is really getting harmed by all of this: “the law-abiding, hardworking members of the community.”“You know, it's funny because you'll see politicians who, I will remind you, sit their asses safely behind their desks and say we need to defund and dismantle the police department. In part two of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, the mother of a Loyola University freshman who was shot and killed in March delivered tearful testimony on Capitol Hill on Tuesday. Jose Medina is charged in the murder of Sheridan Gorman, 18, of Yorktown, New York, in Westchester County. Gorman was walking with her friends near the pier at Tobey Prinz Beach at Pratt Boulevard shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday, March 19, when Gorman told her friends she saw someone hiding behind the lighthouse. Medina was a Venezuelan national who was in the U.S. illegally. Also a comparison of centennial observances / NPR retracts an article that mistakenly said Justice Alito would retire / and Gary wears an American Flag. Henry (B3 Beyond)Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I get to know even more about return guest Henry. Previously known as "B3 Beyond", Henry previously appeared on the show back in December of 2024. Back then he was an anonymous graffiti / street artist. These days he has given up that life of crime, to become a more gallery focused artist. In this episode, we chat about his growing up in The U.K. and what made him switch his outlook and style from the street to the gallery. We cover some of the changes that made him lean in this new direction, and we also discuss some of that previous street art and where those pieces remain today. Now Henry's messaging seems to be focused on bringing attention to kidney disease; a condition that he is all too familiar with. Henry shares what his Kidney condition is, how long he has had it, and what it means for his everyday life. He also shares some startling information about who has it, how many suffer from it, and the staggering amount of folks who may not be aware that they have it. Then we discuss some of the finer points of his new art. He talks about some of the techniques he is working on and studying at university. Again, Henry resides in The U.K. just outside of London, but since we last spoke, he has made a trip across the pond, to The United States. I pepper him with questions about his trip, and where he went, and what he was doing here. Then he explains to me that while it was a refreshing change of scenery, it did inform some of the projects that he is working on. Some of Henry's current works have a decidedly political bent. As listeners of the show will know, we don't talk politics on Fascination Street; but we do deftly discuss his works and the reasons behind them. His art is beautiful, and you can see some of it on his Instagram page and his website. Both of which he shares in this episode. Make sure you check out his work, and if you are so inclined, grab a piece for yourself. I have a couple and they are major focal points on my studio wall.

Drop us a note about the podcast. A lot of conversations about faith stay safely abstract. We don't. We open with Scripture about being rescued when the enemy is too strong, then we step straight into a real headline and the kind of moral questions that make people uncomfortable: what do we protect, what do we excuse, and what do our votes and our silence actually support? From there, we slow down and pray. We thank God for the basics we overlook and we ask Him to comfort anyone carrying anxiety, depression, fear, illness, or doubt. Then we read Proverbs 27 and talk candidly about conflict in marriage, the quiet damage of constant quarrels, and the power a husband and wife have to build a home that feels safe or slowly rots from the inside. The heart of the conversation is Acts 2 and Pentecost. We read Peter's message about Jesus' death and resurrection, the gift of the Holy Spirit, and the promise that “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” We also admit something many believers feel but rarely say out loud: the “last days” timeline can be hard to understand, and waiting can be wearying. We land on trust, not trivia God's timing is not ours, and His mercy reaches farther than we can see.We close with a story about flags, assimilation, and divided allegiance, honor a Medal of Honor recipient, and share a blunt Teddy Roosevelt quote on becoming fully American. If you care about Christian heritage, Bible study, prayer, Pentecost, patriotism, and what loyalty looks like in real life, listen through to the end and then subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review.#Salvation#AmericaFirst#TheodoreRoosevelt Support the showThe American Soul Podcasthttps://www.buzzsprout.com/1791934/subscribeCountryside Book Serieshttps://www.amazon.com/Countryside-Book-J-T-Cope-IV-ebook/dp/B00MPIXOB2 America's Christian Heritage Podcasthttps://www.buzzsprout.com/2622483

Isaiah 30:17 uses the imagery of a banner on a hill to describe visibility, identity, and the reality that what is lifted up becomes a symbol others recognize and respond to. In this devotional, Lynette Kittle reflects on the meaning of the American flag as a national symbol and explores how honoring it connects to gratitude for freedom, sacrifice, and heritage. She emphasizes the flag not just as fabric, but as a representation of unity, history, and the values a nation seeks to uphold. Highlights Isaiah 30:17 uses “banner” imagery to represent identity and visibility. The American flag is presented as a symbol of freedom and national unity. Flags historically represent leadership, belonging, and shared values. The U.S. flag reflects the history and sacrifices tied to national freedom. Symbols can serve as reminders of heritage and collective responsibility. Gratitude for freedom can lead to reflection on God’s providence. National symbols often carry emotional and cultural significance. Honoring heritage can encourage unity and respect within a nation. Full Transcript Below: Why Honoring Our Flag Pleases God By Lynette Kittle Bible Reading: “A thousand will flee at the threat of one; at the threat of five you will all flee away, till you are left like a flagstaff on a mountaintop, like a banner on a hill.” - Isaiah 30:17 Individuals and groups have stomped on it, carried it upside down, cut it up, and burned it, yet our nation’s flag keeps on flying and representing to many around the world, even if not to some in the United States, a sign of hope and true freedom. On this 250th Anniversary of the birth of our nation, our American flag is a worldwide symbol of freedom on this earth. Hands down, it is considered the most recognizable flag in the world as a symbol of freedom. When we honor our flag, remembering its history of how God led Christians to establish it, we honor God, because He is accredited with the birth of our nation. “Of course, it’s just a symbol,” notes Dr. Jerry Newcombe, Executive Director of Providence Forum, “but it’s a powerful one. To me, it represents the American story - self-rule under God.” Many who disrespect and spit on our flag do so because they hate the history ascribed to it and our nation’s long-held slogan of being “one nation under God.” Newcombe believes we should honor our flag because it honors God and our country. “A lot of blood was shed defending that flag,” he explains, “and it represents the freedom we enjoy.” Flag Day, celebrated each June 14th, commemorates the day our Continental Congress adopted the original American flag in 1777, made official in 1916 by President Woodrow Wilson. Growing up, many of us in the United States memorized and recited The Pledge of Allegiance, a pledge “written by a Baptist minister in the 1890s, with the ‘under God’ phrase added in the 1950s,” notes Newcombe. The Purpose of Flags Used primarily throughout history in warfare to announce battles and identify troops, national flags still play a role in distinguishing friend from foe. Culturally, the flag symbolizes power and leadership, carried during military processions and announcing dignitaries. They represent the people and beliefs behind them, of the hands that hold and carry them, and the buildings where they are flown. Flags also serve to draw together and rally people for unified causes, flown to signal, decorate, and display in parades and at events. As well, flags declare ownership, borders, and jurisdiction in homelands and foreign lands. Nations around the globe use them to communicate to the masses the loss of leaders and the mourning of national tragedies and disasters. The United States flag drapes the caskets of our fallen military heroes and veterans when they are being transported from the combat zones to home and at their funerals. The Meaning Displayed in America’s Flag America’s flag has 13 red and white stripes, each representing the original 13 colonies that began our nation, along with 50 white stars set on a blue background representing our current 50 states. There is significant meaning within the American flag’s design, as the Founder of Providence Forum, Dr. Peter Lillback notes. Each color displayed on the American flag has a definite meaning, with red standing for hardiness and valor; white for purity and innocence, and blue for perseverance, justice, and vigilance. Unlike some believe, even though Betsy Ross sewed the first American flag, the design is accredited to one of the original signers of the Declaration of Independence, Francis Hopkinson. Our American Flag Stirs Hearts Our American flag is a vital piece of America’s history, representing freedom for all, known to stir the hearts of its patriotic citizens. It’s a symbol that has inspired our nation through many troubles and conflicts, standing for life, liberty, justice, and freedom for all. In honoring it, we please God by recognizing the godly heritage it represents throughout the history of our nation and the world. While The Epstein Class keeps gaining more power and more wealth as it's never being held accountable for its crime and corruption, political and corporate media elites join forces to blunt a progressive-populist movement. But as we're seeing across the nation, and in Michigan, the working class is beginning to rise-up by backing progressive-populist campaigns. 16:11-32:00: Establishment Machine Part 2Pat continues explaining the ways the elite corporate and political establishment machine keeps enriching their power and wealth while telling the working class there's not much they can do. Whether it's the Trump Regime's & Israel's War on Iran, or high inflation, or government working with data centers, or how Michigan political elites created cushy government pensions while working on decimating working class programs, The Establishment believes the working class will just accept the system as is. And it did for a long time, but not anymore.33:00-42:31: Why Pat Waves Stars & StripesIn the "Last Call," Pat explains why he proudly waves the American Flag, especially while living in these authoritarian times. 42:32-44:26: EndingPlease, subscribe to the podcast, download each episode, and give it a good review if you can!leftoflansing@gmail.comLeft of Lansing is now on YouTube as well!Music provided by Wanderbeats. As you know, we are growing very close to the 4th of July and it is going to be quite the celebration. I have decided that for my July 4th program, I will be doing, each weekend, prior to the 4th of July, stories that are all related in my opinion to be the best American birth stories that talk about our character and our determination to fight for our freedom. This weekend's YAT is a story that happened on Dodger Field in the mid 70's - what exactly happened when two men rushed onto the field to burn an American Flag right there on the field and everyone was stunned. It is a powerful note to everyone that we would be willing to take on the most dangerous things we could face and do it because we love our country.
In Hour 2 Jon talks about if employees have more stress if they are forced to return to the office. Other topics in Hour 2 include Hunter Biden being 7 years sober as well as Target choosing the American Flag over the Pride Flag. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
