Es tan extraño que un hijo muera antes que sus padres, que no hay lenguaje para expresar algo tan incomprensible. El capítulo 9 de la Buena Noticia según Mateo nos enfrenta a un hombre que pierde a su hija, Jairo (vv. 18-26)... El cantante Robert Plant está a punto de la separación del grupo Led Zeppelin, cuando su hijo muere a los cinco años de una infección estomacal en 1977. Se estaba todavía recuperando de las heridas de un accidente de coche que tuvo con su esposa en la isla griega de Rodas, cuando tiene que posponer la gira americana por un problema de garganta. Hay tumultos violentos en dos conciertos, cuando Plant escucha la muerte de su hijo. Había ya tantas tensiones en la banda que ninguno del grupo asiste al entierro. En 1979 graba con ellos, sin embargo, una canción para su hijo: "Todo mi amor". La escuchamos después de la sintonía de Ruta 66, esta vez en versión del teclista de jazz brasileño Manfredo Fest. Cuando Phil Collins era todavía cantante de Genesis en 1991, escucha que el hijo de cuatro años de su amigo Eric Clapton ha muerto al caerse de una ventana de un rascacielos de Nueva York, Al año siguiente Clapton graba su canción "Lágrimas en el cielo", pero el año anterior Collins había compuesto ya para él, un tema llamado "Desde que te perdí". Sus milagros son señales del Evangelio del Reino que proclama por ciudades y aldeas (v. 35). Son su respuesta compasiva a un mundo como el nuestro, donde nos sentimos desamparados, vagando como "ovejas sin pastor" (vv. 35-37). El hijo de un pastor y la encargada de música de las Iglesias Reformadas Presbiterianas Asociadas, Jim Lauderdale, es un reputado cantante de country que nos invita a "Escuchar al Pastor". Se refiere al "Buen Pastor", Cristo Jesús, el mismo al que canta la mítica banda de rock psicodélico del San Francisco de la era hippy de 1969, Jefferson Airplane. Le piden que "alimente a sus ovejas", como ruega Jesús al "Señor de la mies", cuando le pide "obreros" para tan inmensa tarea (vv. 37-38). She starred in David Cronenberg’s chilling Dead Ringers, playing the sexual ‘pawn’ to Jeremy Irons’ unorthodox identical twin gynaecologists and currently can be seen as Penny Montana in the miniseries, Starhunter Transformation.
