What the Christian world needs today is a good publication. I found that the one, like two centuries ago, entitled Sound Words, would fit into today's world. Times change but people stay the same. My plan is to republish this magazine, but I am not sure I will get through all 98 volumes. I will read through all the articles and do the ones that seem to fit our times. Let us start out with the original introduction. ‘An Outline of Sound Words' — Introduction In his second epistle to Timothy, the apostle Paul enjoined his beloved child to “have an outline of sound words,” and to “keep by the Holy Spirit which dwells in us, the good deposit entrusted.” This injunction, in the holy Scriptures, comes to us that we might know how to hold fast the truth of God in these last days, when it is being given up on every hand, and when its heavenly power over the hearts of God's dear saints is being lost, with consequent departure from the path of God's will. We do well to realize that the truth cannot be maintained unless the doctrine encompassed in the outline of sound words is held intelligently and tenaciously, or without the spiritual condition, consonant with the doctrine, produced in the heart by the Holy Spirit. With the true knowledge of the doctrine, and with hearts answering to it by the working of the Spirit, there will be the manifestation of the truth in the lives of God's dear saints, where indeed, it is to be held according to the mind of God. If the Lord will, we hope to send out this little magazine occasionally; desiring and praying that the Head of the body, the assembly, our Lord Jesus Christ, will furnish it with ministry that will help His beloved saints in the apprehension of the precious truth of God, and encourage their exercises towards its manifestation in their lives. As pharma and biotech increasingly outsource R&D activities to universities, careful scrutiny is required to ensure adherence to IP restrictions on research tools across those collaborative activities. As demonstrated by recent high-profile lawsuits, the stakes are higher than ever for all parties. Despite improvements to in vitro assays, animal models are a critical part of preclinical drug discovery and development and will remain so for the foreseeable future. A 100% vinyl mix from early 2000s featuring rare (but modern) records that are precious to me. Nowadays I use everything, vinyl, CDs, mp3s...this is a throwback to the days where I would put 15-20 records in front of me, choose the 1st and the last and then fill in the space between the bookends with songs that conveyed my philosophy. This isn't music as accessory to drunken tomfoolery, this is music that accentuates and represents my mind, aims, influences, and lifestyle. A bygone era where I left my home and went to record shops and got my fingers dirty flipping through 100s of vinyls to find these Rare & Precious Gems...more & more a thing of the past...more & more, my collection of vinyls shine like jewels to me. I guess I'm weird, and in good shape because it doesn't bother me to still carry vinyls to gigs...even the ones that I fly to. Every Friday in New York City I play at a place called Bar 6 - my set there is much lighter than this mix...soul, disco, 80s, house, 90s hip hop - and do you know that I put two bags of vinyls on a compact hand truck, walk 7 blocks to the subway, pick up those two bags, approx 80-100 pounds, carry them down the steps...ride train to the village...carry them up two flights of stairs from the 14th street platform to the street and walk two more blocks to Bar 6? It's oddly satisfying. (side note - on one of these subway rides I saw I guy get on with a stand up bass and I thought, yeah, what I'm doing is not all that strenuous...a stand up bass on a subway, that's effort!) The irony of the moment is that the musician looked at the dj and his records like the dj and his records, now, looks at the virtual dj with their laptops. Irreplaceable replaced.
