Sammie Smith has a passion for getting people in a room and helping to make dairy the best it possibly can be. Coming from the Bega Valley, she is currently sharing her time between one of the smallest farms and one of the largest in the region, working both on her family farm milking 150 and working at Kimba's down the road milking 1200. And whilst there isn't enough room to return to the home farm right now, she's using this time to build her skills and knowledge and get ready so when the time comes to return home she can grab it with both hands! She is also the YDN leader for the bega region, where she is super passionate about making sure dairy is thriving for many years to come - and as you may have seen if you're following along on my socials, I attended the inaugural YDN conference which Sammie and the other YDN leaders across NSW held, which was a brilliant event. In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowlegde the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. Sammie Smith was an NFL (Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos) and College Football (Florida State University) running back, as well as, a track star at Apopka High School and Florida State University. After a career ending injury and 7 years in prison, God's plan for his life started unfolding! During his pro career, his son died of SIDS and life was not the same. Sammie and his wife have served God full-time with FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) for many years and recently released his first book about his journey with God titled, “My Name Is Not 18121-018”. In this episode, we talk about how his new ministry with FCA is developing, including the addition of Salt and Fresh Water Fishing to his sports area of outreach. Sammie and his family gave a lot of years to Ole Miss University through FCA and now he has come back to Florida. Blessing us with his leadership and care for students, leadership, and families. Sammie Smith was one of those rare athletes that excelled at the top level in multiple sports. A career in the NFL, playing for the likes of the Miami Dolphins, Sammie made some unfortunate choices that landed him in serious trouble. But clearly, God had big plans for Sammie that went beyond those bad decisions, and Sammie became a force for the Gospel. He is now in Lake County, and is working with the FCA.

A highly recruited running back and a number one pick in the NFL Draft but yet, Sammie Smith would face intense difficulties and set back. How would he react? It truly was a new road for Sammie Smith. His journey shows that even in the most adverse circumstances, God can be trusted to help us Power Up for His Glory. Guest Bio: God called me to serve with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in 2012. I was blessed to see the lives of coaches and athletes transformed by the power of God through the vehicle of sports in Florida. In 2016, God clearly called my wife and I to move to Oxford Mississippi, to walk alongside coaches and athletes at the University of Mississippi. We have witnessed God's power, as many doors have opened for us to host Sunday Worship Services, Coaches bible studies, team bible studies, Pregame chapels, 1 on 1 mentoring, Campus huddles, and Community small groups. We're talking about CBD skincare and why redheads should use it! To quickly break down the difference between CBD, hemp seed oil, marijuana.CBD is short for cannabidiol and known to have medicinal properties. It is legal and is not marijuana and does not make you high. It is extracted from the entire hemp plant.Hemp oil is only extracted from hemp seeds. It does not make you high and medicinal properties are not as strong as CBD. It is legal.Marijuana is the plant with a high potency of THC and people smoke or consume it to feel "high". It is illegal in many states. Our guest is Sammie Smith, natural redhead + Chief Product Officer at No, Thank You ™ CBD Skincare (https://nty.co). She got into skincare when she was 18-years-old while modeling in New York and struggling with acne. Being such a science nerd, she got into researching what was happening to her skin and why. That is pretty much where her love affair with skincare started. A few years later when she moved to Los Angeles, she started studying nutrition in school. This led Sammie to a huge lifestyle shift where she started looking at what was in her products and switched everything to all natural and clean products. This was before the clean beauty movement and there were not many high-quality clean products on the market. So, she decided to start making products herself. A friend asked Sammie to join his CBD start-up company and run the skin care division. This is how she got connected with No, Thank You!Being able to create products that have such an impact on someone's self confidence, and makes them feel good about themselves is really what drives her and makes her feel so lucky to do what she does. Here are a few questions we will ask her on the podcast:1. For those listening who are new to CBD, what is it? What are its benefits?2. Why should someone make a switch to CBD?3.We featured No Thank You's Face Oil in our most recent Winter Deluxe H2BAR Box (https://shop.howtobearedhead.com/collections/beauty/products/winter-deluxe-h2bar-box-extra-boxes-remaining-in-warehouse). We love that it's for those with sensitive skin and combats many characteristics redheads experience such as redness, pigmentation and dark spots. Tell us more about why this brand and product is so unique!4.How do you choose the right CBD products for your skin type?5. What's your absolute favorite skincare product?6.Let's talk redhead makeup products! What is your favorite?Want to help us spread the news about the How to be a Redhead brand and this podcast? Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep Troy Stradford was a fourth-round draft choice of the Miami Dolphins in 1987. Only 5-9, the running back out of Boston College made up for a lack of size with tremendous speed, vision and confidence. After beating out former first-round draft choice Lorenzo Hampton to become Miami's starting running back, Stradford's performance far exceeded his draft position as he racked up more than 1,000 yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns on his way to being named the Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year. Diving in the Tank, Troy shares how befriending Mark Clayton nearly caused him to get cut before his final preseason game as a rookie, explains a valuable life lesson taught to him by Hall of Fame Defensive End Bruce Smith, and candidly expresses strong feelings towards former Dolphins first-round pick, Sammie Smith.
