Jógvan Finnur Poulsen, sum er fyrrverandi lærari, vaks upp i Toftum, og í sendingini greiðir hann frá ymiskum viðurskiftum í býlinginum. Heidi Nolsøe Samuelsen hevur sminkuhandil í kjallaranum í ættarhúsunum í Toftum. Hon er sminkøsa og hevur eisini skeið, har fólk kunnu koma inn og læra at sminka sær. 79 ára gamli Sigurd Toftegaard var sum smádrongur við at turka fisk á fiskastykkinum hjá Sámal Petur Petersen við býlingin í Toftum. Og hann hevur eisini góð minnir, tá smádreingirnir fóru við stórum flakum beint út eftir fjørðinum og út undir Eið at seta línu og høvdu fiskin umborð á flakunum. Tey eldru fara út og yngri fólk koma inn. Hóast stóran aldursmun, hava Atli Petersen og Steinbjørn í Lambanum funnið saman um at varðveita søgur í Fuglafirði. Atli tekur upp ljóðsamrøður við eldri fólk, og Steinbjørn skrásetur øll húsini sum vóru í Fuglafirði í 1958. Eitt av teimum fólkum, sum Atli Petersen hevur havt samrøðu við, er Olga Hansen, bóndadóttir í Toftum. Vit hoyra eitt brot, har hon greiðir frá arbeiðnum í bóndahúsunum tá hon vaks upp.

Stanley Samuelsen er ein livandi legenda, og hann er enn sera virkin, hóast heilsan er farin at bila, nú hann táttar í tey 75 árini. It's Hump Day! Sam speaks with Nicholas Boni, writer, photographer and musician based in Brooklyn, & Cea Weaver, tenant organizer with Housing Justice For All in New York, to discuss Nicholas's recent piece in Jacobin entitled "Social Housing for New York Is on the Table". Then, Sam speaks with John Samuelsen, International President of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), to discuss the prospects of a commuter rail worker strike in Boston, where they've been without a contract for over 200 days. First, Sam runs through updates on the performance of ‘uncommitted' in the Washington primary, the House voting to sort of ban TikTok, questions about more GOP testimony, Trump's legal battles, the House GOP, the Federal Judiciary Committee, US labor action, and aid for Ukraine, before parsing through the recent TikTok “ban” legislation rushed through the House. Nicholas Boni and Cea Weaver then join, diving right into the complete affordability crisis facing New York State, resulting from a lack of existing stable, affordable housing and investment into new permanent, affordable housing projects, and their solution of a Social Housing Development Authority (SHDA), a statewide tenant's rights coalition, funded and supported by the state, that would work to rezone, maintain, rehabilitate, acquire, and construct new affordable housing projects across New York State, relying on a much broader base than existing housing authorities like NYCHA, allowing for them to function on a much broader, and much more effective scale. Expanding on this, Weaver and Boni look at the SHDA as a true public-sector alternative to the speculative role of private real estate, walking through the process and legislation SHDA would rely on in their acquisition of housing and land for maintenance, rehabilitation, and construction, and the role the Authority would play in working with to take over existing housing and establish tenant-run cooperatives. After walking through some real-world lasting examples of this kind of housing infrastructure, Cea and Nicholas wrap up by assessing the current state of the fight, and what to look for moving forward. John Samuelson then joins, walking through the TWU's role representing transit workers across the US, before zooming in on the ongoing issues facing Local-2054, with active profiteering and exploitation from the French company Keolis in their management of Massachusetts' Commuter Rail, all bankrolled by the US taxpayer. After walking through the long battle between the local and Keolis in their ongoing contract negotiations, Samuelson walks through the ongoing exploitation faced by transit mechanics and coach cleaners on the South Side, and the role of the MBTA and Massachusetts DOT in allowing this brutal exploitation. Wrapping up, John Samuelson assesses the future of Local-2054's fight, and what we can do to support them. Dr. Kim Samuelsen was born outside of Copenhagen, Denmark. He earned his veterinary degree from the University of Copenhagen in 1981.After working in bovine practice, he discovered acupuncture from a colleague as a way of treating uterine torsions. He transitioned to equine practice and was certified by IVAS for acupuncture in 1997, and was certified by the International School of Osteopathy in 2003. In 2006 he studied indirect osteopathy with Dr. Patricia Kortegaas.In 2015 he began to use acupuncture to treat small animals, horses, and humans at his home. Earlier this year he transitioned out of being a collective of equine practitioners that shared emergency call and is concentrating solely on his acupuncture practice.Dr. Samuelsen has long been active in organizational medicine. India has been caught in a question for almost a decade now: is it a secular democracy or is it a Hindu nation? The struggles over this question goes from the parliament to the streets, from Facebook to living rooms, from the metropolis to the margins. The Indian Prime minister and his party routinely invoke Hindu deities in political campaigns. Hindu nationalist forces have been transforming and coopting traditional religious practices to upper caste Hinduism in indigenous and oppressed caste communities for several decades. Activists trying to stop this process of cooption claim that Hindu myths —with all the deities and their stories of good and evil—form the moral core of the supremacy of upper caste Hindus. They deconstruct these myths through social media campaigns to question the chastity of Hindu goddesses, the moral uprightness of Hindu gods, and the purity of Hindu scriptures. They demand that we reexamine the role of religious myths in contemporary politics. In this episode, Kenneth Bo Nielsen is joined by Moumita Sen, Silje L. Einarsen, The'ang Theron and Guro W. Samuelsen to discuss the ongoing narrative construction and mythological contestations of the current Hindu nationalist regime. The project Mythopolitics in South Asia, led by Moumita Sen at the MF School of Theology, Religion and Society, studies how the Hindu nationalist party and its oppositional forces use popular mythic Hindu narratives in electoral politics and social movements in contemporary India.
