Hon og maðurin Magnar Ellendersen úr Hvalba komu at kennast sum ung á Akranesi, og Lovisa kom til Føroya fyrstu ferð sum 16 ára gomul. Winning the first boys basketball state title in school history is nice but winning it with your son and nephew in your starting five is extra special.  That was the case for Alexandria head coach Forrest Witt as his Cardinals secured the first state title in program history. Forrest has the pleasure of coaching his son Mason and nephew Talan as well.  Along with those two the team was led by their biggest star Chase Thompson who was selected as Mr. Basketball in Minnesota and is headed to play for the Clemson Tigers.  Alexandira came out on top in Class 3A with a bracket that was absolutely loaded with top teams.  The other cool thing about this episode is hearing that one of your guests has listened to most of our podcast episode, so thank you to Forrest for that.

In a shocking development surrounding the tragic death of 16-year-old Preston Lord at a Halloween party last year, new revelations have emerged of an alleged attempt by the family of one of the accused attackers to conceal him from authorities. Seventeen-year-old Talan Renner, one of seven suspects facing charges in connection with Lord's death, was allegedly hidden away at his family's cabin in Show Low, Arizona, by his father, Travis Renner, in the days following the fatal incident.  According to reports, Talan Renner, along with the other six accused, faces first-degree murder and kidnapping charges. The suspects have all pleaded not guilty and are being held on $1 million bond. The tragedy unfolded on October 28, 2023, during a Halloween party in Queen Creek, which attracted over 100 teenagers and prompted multiple 911 calls from concerned neighbors. It was during this event that Lord was fatally beaten, dying in the hospital two days later. Police have charged the suspects, alleging they were involved in a violent altercation that resulted in Lord's death. A witness told police that when Lord was “on the ground, the group of kids began recording and ‘humping' the individual” while he laid their dying “before they all ran away.” His father's ex-girlfriend disclosed the alleged attempt to hide Talan Renner. She shared with authorities that Talan Renner was moved to the remote cabin to allow time for his hands to heal, reportedly after being involved in the altercation that led to Lord's death. Ashley Reynolds, a former employee at Relentless Media Agency, where she worked under Talan's father, Travis Renner, has come forward alleging her involvement in a cover-up following the tragic incident involving Preston's critical injuries. Reynolds stated to the Arizona Republic that Renner and Adam Kifer, CEO of Relentless Media Agency, openly discussed plans to conceal evidence and shift blame onto another individual with a similar name. According to Reynolds, Renner and Kifer allegedly orchestrated a plan to take Talan to a remote cabin until the injuries he sustained during the altercation healed. Detectives noted the Renner family's financial capability to assist in fleeing to Mexico, prompting Talan's removal from the Phoenix area following the attack on Preston. To further conceal Talan's involvement, Reynolds claimed she was instructed to falsify electronic calendar entries to create the appearance that Talan was out of town on the day of the Halloween party. Additionally, she stated that Renner and Kifer devised a plan for Renner to distance himself from the company to mitigate potential legal ramifications. Despite the severity of the accusations against Talan Renner, he reportedly participated in extracurricular activities. In a disturbing revelation, it was disclosed that Renner's football coach at American Leadership Academy, Gilbert North, allowed him to play in a game even after he became a person of interest in Lord's murder. Concerns were raised, prompting the termination of the coach. The additional six suspects charged in connection with Lord's death have been identified as Talyn Vigil, William Owen Hines, Dominic Turner, Taylor Sherman, Treston Billey, and Jacob Meisner. As a Halloween party in an upscale neighborhood gets out of hand, neighbors call 911 saying there are too many cars and drunk teens in the neighborhood. As Preston Lord and his friends leave the party, one of Lord's friends has a necklace stolen by another group of teens. A fight breaks out when Lord tries to get the necklace back. He is beaten by a group of teens who knock Lord unconscious and kick him while he's on the ground. Witnesses recount seeing the attackers “hump” Lord and someone in a white suit returning to stomp on Preston Lord, still unconscious in the middle of the street. As Preston Lord lays unconscious on the pavement, friends determine his heart has stopped and other partygoers perform CPR until police arrive and take over. Lord is taken by ambulance to Chandler Regional Hospital, then transferred to Phoenix Children's in extremely critical condition with a severe brain injury. Preston Lord succumbs to his injuries. For those involved, Lord's death is fodder for social media, some trying to figure out how to cash in on the reward money offered for information about what happened. The suspects discuss the fight over Snapchat with one of the messages reading, "My mom wants in on the $10K.” These messages are some of the first real clues police begin to follow.  A tipster notifies police that Talan Renner admitted to a friend that he threw the first punch, and Owen Hines told a friend “he only kicked him in the stomach.” Nearly all the witnesses point out Treston Billey and Dominic Turner as aggressors due to their distinct costumes that night. Turner wore all black, while Billey donned a white suit. Using the suspects' digital media, investigators find Taylor Sherman, who admits to taking a video of Preston as he is unconscious on the ground and sending it out on Snapchat. Talyn Vigil also sent a message reading, “I hit a kid and this kid fell, hit his head. Then they kicked his head in the ground, then I got word he died so idk.” The day Preston Lord passes away, Talan Renner's millionaire father, Travis Renner, goes to work trying to cover up the teen's involvement. Renner and his business partner allegedly hand out NDAs and push a story that despite Talan Renner having thrown the first punch, Talyn Vigil was truly to blame for Lord's death. Renner tells the school his son is being bullied, and whisks Talan away to his $800,000 golf club cabin in Show Low, Arizona for a week while Talan's hands heal from the fight. Meanwhile Talan Renner brags to friends on Snapchat, “I got in a fight, a big group fight, and I accidentally killed a kid.
