Irán ha descubierto durante estos cinco meses de guerra que no necesitaba ninguna bomba atómica. Su arma decisiva llevaba ahí toda la vida justo a la entrada del golfo Pérsico. Ese arma es el estrecho de Ormuz, una lengua de mar por la que circula en tiempos normales una quinta parte del petróleo y el gas natural de todo el mundo, ha resultado ser el mejor activo militar del régimen. Un accidente de la geografía sumado a unas cuantas baterías de misiles bien colocadas. No han necesitado mucho más. Todo arrancó con el ataque sorpresa que Estados Unidos e Israel lanzaron el 28 de febrero contra las instalaciones nucleares iraníes. En lugar de negociar de rodillas, los ayatolás encontraron en el mapa la palanca que su arsenal ya no les daba. Bastó con hostigar a los mercantes que cruzan Ormuz. El tráfico de crudo en el golfo Pérsico se desplomó hasta rondar el 36% de los niveles previos a la guerra, y cruzar el estrecho se convirtió en una lotería que solo unos pocos navieros quieren jugar apagando el transpondedor. El resto o no cruza o paga en secreto el peaje que exigen los iraníes. Lo que no ha funcionado del todo ha sido el chantaje energético. El barril nunca ha conseguido estabilizarse por encima de los 100 dólares, el umbral que habría forzado la capitulación estadounidense. El mercado ya estaba sobreabastecido, China acumuló reservas tras los ataques de 2025 y luego recortó sus compras de crudo iraní sin dar señales de reanudarlas. La solidaridad antioccidental se evaporó en cuanto empezó a costar dinero. Entretanto, la factura interna de Irán engorda. El FMI proyecta una contracción del 6% este año con una inflación cercana al 70% y escasez de combustible. El régimen se ahorca con la misma soga con la que aprieta el cuello de sus adversarios. El pulso ha abierto una grieta interna entre la Guardia Revolucionaria, que ve en Ormuz lo único que le queda tras el fracaso nuclear, y los sectores moderados que contemplan con angustia el colapso económico inminente. De ahí el extraño baile diplomático de Trump, siempre optimista y siempre amenazante, y de un Marco Rubio más comedido. Irán y Omán negocian un mecanismo de separación de tráfico que en realidad existe desde hace décadas, con entrada por aguas iraníes y salida por las omaníes. El escollo es que Irán sigue insistiendo en cobrar peajes y tanto EEUU y los árabes los rechazan. La duda de fondo es cuánto les durará el arma. El crudo puede desviarse por oleoductos saudíes y emiratíes, aunque siempre expuestos a los hutíes y a los drones. Los derivados y, sobre todo, el gas catarí no tienen alternativa terrestre viable. Más allá de las exportaciones, los países del golfo dependen de Ormuz para importar grano, medicinas o alimentos frescos. Ahí reside la baza más duradera del régimen, que no busca tanto dinero como la condición permanente de guardián del estrecho, alguien con derecho a abrir y cerrar la puerta a capricho. Esa incertidumbre, y no el peaje en si mismo, es la verdadera pesadilla de los países del golfo. Finally I made the connection between the 3000 that died at Sinai, the Mountain of God, and the 3000 who were saved on Pentecost in Jerusalem, also the Mountain of God.  My teacher, Ray Vander Laan and others put together this awesome correlation between the Mountains of God and the Covenants.  Check it out.  THE MOUNTAINS OF GOD AT SHAVUOT AMAZING CONNECTIONS Both events occurred on mountains known as "the mountain of God." Exo 24:13 So Moses arose with Joshua his servant, and Moses went up to the mountain of God. (Ex. 24:13; Isa. 2:3). Isa 2:3 And many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways And that we may walk in His paths." For the law will go forth from Zion And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. Both events happened on day 50. They arrived at Sinai in the third month on the very day (Ex. 19:1).  Exo 19:1 In the third month after the sons of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that very day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. Hebrew “on that very day” means they arrived on the third day of the third month exactly 50 days after their first Passover meal in Egypt. The feast of Shavuot is to happen on the 50th day after the weekly sabbath during Passover and Unleavened Bread (Lev. 23:15-16). Both involved similar sounds and symbols, such as wind, fire, and voices (Ex. 19:16-19; Acts 2:1-3). Note that the Hebrew for "thunder" (kolot) means "voices" (Acts 2:4). Jewish tradition said that the Israelites heard God speak in 70 languages or, to translate direct from the Hebrew, God spoke in tongues! Both events involved the presence of God (Ex. 19:18,20; Acts 2:4). About 3,000 people died because of their sin when Moses received the Torah (Ex. 32:28). About 3,000 people believed (were born again into new life) when the Spirit came (Acts 2:41). At Mount Sinai, God wrote his revelation on stone tablets (Ex. 31:18). On the fulfillment of Pentecost, God wrote his law on people's hearts as he had promised He would (2 Cor. 3:3; Jer. 31:33). Torah means "teaching." The Spirit, given on Shavuot, also became the "Teacher" of the new community of Jesus' followers (John 14:26) Many Jews from all over the world heard their own language from a bunch of kids, young men and women, who only knew Aramaic, Greek and Hebrew. The whole world heard the Gospel!! It was as if it was SINAI REPEATED!! Both events were times when God's people entered a NEW covenant with the Lord. Israel became a new nation, a nation of priests, and nation that would be the light of the world (Ex. 19:6, Isa. 49:6).  And, for us, we have entered a NEW covenant with the Lord as we take the cup of Messiah in His Last Seder meal (Luke 22:20).  We too become a new people, a new nation, a royal priesthood (1 Pet. 2:9-10).  We to are to be the light of the world (Mat.5:14, Acts 1:7-8).  But, this time, this covenant is the covenant to restore all people to Himself as our sins our totally cleansed and forgiven.  This is the final covenant for Jew and Gentile to become one flock with one shepherd, the Good Shepherd, the Messiah Jesus (John 10:14-16). On Shavuot there is a special sacrifice. Amazingly it uses two loaves of LEAVENED BREAD (Lev. 23:17). Hay un señor enterrado en Nueva York que en 1907 se pegó un tiro con dos millones y medio de dólares en el banco, lo cual ya nos dice algo bastante incómodo sobre cómo funcionan los mercados de verdad. Y lo que de verdad me obsesiona de esta historia no es cómo murió él, sino lo que les pasó después a los que creyeron haberse salvado. El hombre se llamaba Charles Barney, presidía el tercer mayor banco fiduciario de Estados Unidos, cenaba habitualmente con los Rockefeller y tenía ese tipo de respetabilidad que en aquella época solo se construía después de tres décadas comportándose como si uno fuese a vivir trescientos años. Y aun así, un buen día empezó a circular el rumor, ni siquiera del todo falso pero tampoco del todo cierto, de que el Knickerbocker Trust estaba expuesto a una operación fallida en el mercado del cobre, y eso, que en cualquier otro mes del año habría sido motivo de una conversación discreta en algún club de Manhattan, en aquellas semanas concretas, con la confianza pública ya algo erosionada, se convirtió en un detonante. Bastó con que aparecieran las primeras colas frente a las oficinas para que el rumor dejara de ser rumor y empezara a comportarse como una profecía cumpliéndose en tiempo real, porque, como bien sabe cualquiera que haya pisado un mercado lo suficiente, ningún banco del mundo, en ninguna época, ha estado nunca diseñado para devolverle el dinero a todos sus clientes a la vez, y eso vale tanto para 1907 como para mañana por la mañana. Muchos de los depositantes que sí lograron sacar su dinero a tiempo del Knickerbocker, en su prisa absolutamente comprensible por ponerse a salvo, lo trasladaron en cuestión de días a entidades que, en aquellas mismas semanas, eran objetivamente peores que el banco del que estaban huyendo, y terminaron perdiéndolo igual, o peor, semanas y meses después, en quiebras menos célebres, menos novelables y mucho más definitivas. Es decir, huyeron del riesgo imaginario y corrieron, sin saberlo, directamente hacia el riesgo real, que es probablemente el resumen más honesto, más cruel y más exacto que se ha escrito nunca sobre el comportamiento del inversor medio en cualquier momento de tensión, sea 1907, sea 2008, sea esta misma semana. Y todo esto, que parece una historia vieja, una de esas anécdotas victorianas que se cuentan en clase de historia económica para amenizar la tarde antes del café, es exactamente lo mismo que sigue ocurriendo todas las semanas en los mercados modernos, solo que ahora va vestido con mejor ropa, con mejores presentaciones, con tipografía más limpia y con una cantidad ligeramente obscena de gente diciendo en redes sociales que esta vez sí, que esta vez lo tienen claro, que esta vez la dirección correcta es evidente. Y sigue pasando cuando una empresa se desploma porque alguien interpretó mal una guía. Y sigue pasando cuando un sector entero se dispara porque media industria descubre, con tres años de retraso, lo que ya era razonablemente obvio. Y sigue pasando, sobre todo, cuando aparece un banco central nuevo decidiendo, con esa naturalidad casi inocente que dan los primeros meses en el cargo, que ciertos datos incómodos no merecen tanta atención como les estábamos prestando. Esta semana ha vuelto a pasar. Y ha pasado, además, con un estilo francamente notable, en varios frentes a la vez, con personajes muy reconocibles, con cifras lo bastante grandes como para hacer dudar a cualquiera y con un par de movimientos en bolsa que merecen, como mínimo, un minuto de reflexión a solas antes de tomar cualquier decisión la semana que viene. No voy a adelantar aquí ni las empresas ni el desenlace de cada cosa, entre otras razones porque la mitad de la gracia está justamente en escuchar cómo encajan unas historias con otras y descubrir, por el camino, cuál de los protagonistas de esta semana es, en realidad, el Charles Barney moderno sin saberlo todavía. Lo cuento todo, con nombres, apellidos, números y un poco de mala leche bien medida, en el nuevo episodio de Actualidad Semanal +D, que para mí es la única forma honesta que he encontrado de hablar de mercados sin caer ni en el sermón ni en el panfleto. Y dejo una única idea, por si sirve de algo cuando llegue la próxima semana y, como siempre, todos empiecen a correr en la misma dirección al mismo tiempo: antes de moverse, acordaos de Barney, y preguntaos, con la mayor sinceridad de la que seáis capaz, si estáis huyendo del peligro real o simplemente del peligro que alguien acaba de contaros.

Medios franceses identificaron un contrato firmado entre una filial de la compañía tecnológica francesa Capgemini y el Servicio estadounidense de Inmigración y Control de Aduanas, mejor conocido como ICE. Revelaron que le suministra un servicio de rastreo de personas con el objetivo de ayudarlos en su programa de deportación de migrantes. Bastó con hallar un sencillo contrato en los registros públicos de licitaciones en Estados Unidos. El Observatorio de las Multinacionales, un medio enfocado en la rendición de cuentas de las grandes compañías, encontró que en diciembre de 2025 una filial de la francesa Capgemini - ubicada en territorio estadounidense - había empezado a cobrar por el rastreo informático de migrantes. El periodista detrás de esta investigación, publicada el 21 de enero de 2026, es Olivier Petitjean. El contrato que revisó menciona un servicio llamado "skip tracing". "Consiste en localizar a los que consideran sospechosos. El término se usaba con los detectives de antaño que debían encontrar a personas desaparecidas. Hoy en día, ICE tiene acceso a muchas informaciones públicas, datos de seguridad social, informaciones de empresas, etc.”, explica Petijean. “También datos de propiedad o en relación con agencias inmobiliarias que les proporcionan información. Tras las revelaciones los primeros en indignarse fueron los propios empleados de la empresa francesa. Capgemini aseguró este miércoles 28 de enero que el contrato "no está, a la fecha, siendo ejecutado". "Antes de publicar nuestro artículo, les solicitamos una reacción. Nunca nos respondieron. Tras el escándalo que dieron explicaciones que convencen a medias, diciendo que se trata de una filial muy particular porque está sujeta a obligaciones relacionadas con la seguridad nacional estadounidense. Por lo tanto, dicen no tener control sobre ese contrato, ni haber tenido conocimiento previo de ese contrato. Cuando una empresa con sede en Francia, como Capgemini, y una de sus filiales, incluso en el extranjero, tiene actividades que pueden ocasionar graves violaciones de los derechos humanos, como es el caso de las prácticas de ICE, la responsabilidad de la empresa puede ser cuestionada en el derecho francés", advierte.
