Every time we think things can't possibly can't any worse, Sporting KC finds new depths of despair to plummet into and that was on full display in Columbus last Saturday. Peter Vermes tried a new formation, but the players seemed ill equipped to execute the positional responsibilities it entailed, and they candidly got dog walked out of the stadium in a 4-0 defeat. What a wonderful homecoming game for Aidan Morris though. The result left a number of fans asking when any substantive change would actually happen. This was the kind of defeat that has gotten many an MLS coach, even those with storied careers like Sigi Schmid fired. On Monday, Sporting KC did release communications about someone leaving the club, but it was not the droid the fans were looking for. It was instead Brian Bliss. This roster is in desperate need of the overhaul that Mike Illig and Peter Vermes have been open about discussing in the press, so we will take a look at what realistically that “overhaul” could look like and how much substantive change might actually happen given how significant the financial investment will likely need to be to accomplish it. COG STUDIOS, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy have lost MLS coaching legend Sigi Schmid. And while the news wasn't surprising given his recent health issues, the news of his passing has really allowed us a look at how much of an influence he had on the league and on American soccer in general. On today's show, your hosts Josh Guesman and Eric Vieira are back to discuss what Schmid meant to each of them and how his passion for soccer influenced the Galaxy and players across the league. Plus, the guys are really digging the new hire of Guillermo Barros Schelotto and what that could mean for a re-vamped Galaxy. Schelotto seems poised to hit the ground running with a coaching staff that is following him from Boca Juniors. And what does his "evil" twin have to do with him coming to Los Angeles? And if you didn't know already, the Galaxy have a plethora of draft picks coming up in the MLS SuperDraft. Exactly how many, and whether they'll actually pick that many players is up for debate, but perhaps one or two guys can impress enough to get a shot with the senior team. Finally, Josh and Eric are talking rumors, and how you can start to tell if a rumor makes sense or not. There's a science behind it and right now if it's about a midfielder you can probably throw it out the window. It's a packed show that gets you caught up on the Galaxy, and we're glad you could spend some time with us! Music provided by Back Pocket Memory

It has been two weeks since we last recorded and ... wow did a lot happen. The Seattle Sounders scored a seemingly massive win over first-place FC Dallas only to drop a disheartening loss to the Portland Timbers, suffer an epic collapse at the hands of the LA Galaxy in the U.S. Open Cup and turn in one of the worst performances in franchise history while losing to Sporting Kansas City. But we barely even had time to talk about any of that after this week's twin bombshells: The presumed signing of Nicolas Lodeiro and the "mutual parting of ways" with head coach Sigi Schmid. Among the topics covered: Whether or not Schmid deserved to be the one falling on the sword, how much blame falls at the feet of GM Garth Lagerwey, if Nicolas Lodeiro is capable of saving the season and if Brian Schmetzer has any hope of becoming the permanent head coach.

We're sorry we left you for so long but sometimes life, work and other issues interfere with our ability to create the podcast you love so much. That said, Nos Audietis is back to talk about everything we missed over the last three weeks. The Sounders remain in the playoff hunt and we discuss how the results from the last couple weeks have affected those chances. We also spend some time talking about how the new signings have affected, or not affected, the team and talk about Sigi Schmid's medical issues as well. There's also listener questions to answer!
Thanks to two late goals from Marco Pappa the Seattle Sounders claimed their first Supporters' Shield over the weekend, defeating the LA Galaxy 2-0 and securing home field advantage against absolutely everybody. We review the match, revel in the glory and laugh at Landon Donovan's misfortune. We're joined as well by Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid who discusses a variety of topics with Jeremiah from his office at Starfire, and there's plenty of listener questions to be answered as well. It is truly a show full of whimsy.
