The conviction of Carmelo Anthony has reignited a national debate about race, justice, violence and the growing collapse of trust in public institutions. As supporters and critics interpret the case through radically different lenses, the reaction reveals a society increasingly divided along racial, political and cultural lines, where even the most tragic events quickly become symbols in much larger battles. Rather than focusing solely on guilt or innocence, we examine what these public confrontations reveal about forgiveness, justice, social division and the deeper forces driving people further apart at a time when faith in the legal system, media and one another appears to be rapidly eroding. Also in the show, I'm talking with Mel Carmine, entrepreneur, filmmaker, and independent media creator. We discuss free speech, digital censorship, decentralized finance, and the growing tension between centralized institutions and emerging technologies. Mel shares his views on blockchain, alternative financial systems, government power, and the ideas explored in his documentaries, including Dear Mr. President and Show Me The Money, as well as his plans for a new free-speech-focused media platform. Outdoor recreation on public lands is booming, but the funding to manage those lands is shrinking. As maintenance backlogs grow and budgets vital for outdoor recreation, public lands and waters tighten— the question is dire: will anyone bear the cost of managing public lands? And what happens if no one does? As federal funding falters, states, nonprofits, and local communities are stepping in. But is that a sustainable solution—or does it fundamentally reshape what national public lands are meant to be?SPEAKERS: Betsy Robblee, Conservation and Advocacy Director, The MountaineersJohn Garder, Senior Director of Budget & Appropriations, National Parks Conservation AllianceDan Gibbs, Executive Director, Colorado Department of Natural ResourcesModerator: Garrett Brennan, Raven Analytics + Three Pin StrategyRESOURCES:Great American Outdoors ActLand And Water Conservation FundAmerica the Beautiful ActNational Parks Conservation AssociationKeep Colorado Wild PassOutdoor Alliance Subscribe to Winter Wildlands AllianceWinter Wildlands Alliance Stash BlogWinter Wildlands Alliance Action CenterSUPPORTED BY: Outdoor Alliance, REI Co-op, The Mountaineers, Duct Tape Then Beer/Dirt Bag Diaries, High Country News, Phreem Family Brewers, and University of Washington's Pack Forest.CREDITS:Produced and co-hosted by Anneka Williams and Emily ScottEdited by Adam Titmuss Theme music by Rattlesnake Preachers feat. Welcome back to the screening series! In Episode 2 of our 6 part series, Dr. Jen Salisbury dives into the financial heartbeat of tenant screening: credit and income. While these are usually your first filters, relying on a single number can be a huge mistake. We discuss how to interpret credit reports, standard income ratios, and how to handle edge cases fairly. From first-time renters with no credit to self-employed applicants with savings instead of pay stubs, you'll learn how to evaluate financial reliability without running afoul of fair housing laws. We'll also look at real-world examples from both the US and Canada on how to manage these tricky financial scenarios.
Most people have an invisible system running inside them that reroutes money before it ever arrives. It intercepts opportunities, deflects windfalls, and keeps you stuck in "almost" mode — almost enough, almost there, almost your turn. This activation was built to find that system and shut it down permanently. "Show Me The Money" is unlike any meditation or affirmation track you've heard before. This is a full consciousness overhaul — a real-time rewiring of the signal you broadcast into the financial field. Every sentence is designed to dismantle the hidden beliefs, inherited patterns, and emotional blocks that have been standing between you and actual, tangible, spendable cash showing up in your life.

In the next week, the legendary William Shatner turns 95 years old. Our tribute to him is this entry from almost 20 years ago, which has Deal or No Deal tendencies but asks questions slightly more difficult than that show's title query. It remains a classic among us, though the general population didn't agree. We also get closure to what happened to the contestant on the final aired episode whose game was interrupted, never to be seen.

In this episode, we discuss why the right to an attorney remains one of the most important protections in the American legal system, using Gideon v. Wainwright to examine how due process actually functions in practice. We explore the recent surge in gold and silver prices, weighing inflation fears against global instability and market psychology, and consider how Trump's negotiation style plays out in diplomacy and financial markets. We also examine a new film about Melania Trump, why it misses the larger political moment, and how culture increasingly drifts away from economic reality. We then turn to the so-called Great Wealth Transfer, where we explore how inheritances shape labor markets, housing prices, charitable giving, and long-term economic behavior, along with the unintended consequences that massive shifts in wealth can create for policy, taxation, and inequality. 00:00 Introduction and Overview 00:29 The Story Behind the Right to an Attorney (Gideon v. I know it's an overused phrase, and I promise I won't shout it at you. But I can't help but think about Tom Cruise in the movie Jerry Maguire when I think about college football today. Yes, all I keep repeating is show me the money. So many people are upset about all the college coaches moving from school to school, counting their millions. And while it's not happening right away, the players will be doing the same thing over the next month and a half. College football has changed. Because now, not only is the NCAA making money, but the coaches and players are too. And that means you have to get it while you can. And obviously, that upsets some longtime fans... How do defence companies fund growth when the orders from politicians have been promised but the cash isn't forthcoming? Want to build a new factory to double Europe's 155mm ammo production, or tank fleet, or - heavens forbid - drones? Great - but where does the money come from for the infrastructure? Why don't existing MFIs across Europe fill that space? And what might a dedicated defence, security, and resilience offer governments as well as industry? Former Brigadier General Robbie Boyd, now on the Senior Leadership team for the development of the new DSR Bank, explains all. This episode allows those in the national security community who don't have a deep understanding of the financial sector to understand the potential offered by a dedicated banking organisation for defence. Building off the ideas of a NATO bank, and linked directly to the rebuilding of NATO's failed deterrence posture, the DSR bank feels a bit like a game-changer.
Welcome to Church Pew Sports Ep 192 - Show Me The Money - The New World Order of College Sports In this episode of Church Pew Sports, hosts Bill Hobson, Pastor Paul Miller, David Collins, and Randy Gilmer dive headfirst into one of the busiest, wildest stretches in the sports calendar — and connect it all back to real life, real faith, and the pursuit of integrity in a chaotic world. The conversation opens with a fast-paced recap of the latest action across the sports landscape, including the thrilling World Series finale, the launch of the NBA and NHL seasons, and the ever-spinning chaos of the college football coaching carousel. NFL talk dominates the next segment, beginning with the Chicago Bears' surprising 7–3 record and the Detroit Lions' emotional rollercoaster season. The group continues by comparing team-building philosophies, contrasting the Eagles' bold, trade-driven roster strategy with the Lions' more hesitant approach under Brad Holmes. This leads to a wider conversation about officiating — a familiar source of "Holy Discontent" — including the perception that controversial calls often go against Detroit. They commend the ACC's transparent replay system and then shift to the billion-dollar private-equity proposal being considered by the Big Ten. Michigan and USC are pushing back, raising concerns about valuation and binding long-term commitments, sparking a deeper conversation about how college athletics is drifting toward a fully transactional model. Bill laments how NIL has fundamentally changed college basketball and shares his longing for a simpler, relationship-driven era of college sports. David echoes that sentiment, reflecting on how sports and even politics feel increasingly exposed, with the "romantic curtain" pulled back for good. The episode wraps with a rapid-fire discussion of FIFA's controversial World Cup ticket practices, NCAA sanctions, and the ripple effects of Michigan State's punishment in the college football scandal. Finally, the crew closes with a powerful reminder about character and legacy, inspired by Maryland basketball coach Buzz Williams, who said he hopes to be remembered not for wins or money but for being a faithful husband and father. Another week, another blend of sports talk, cultural insight, humor, and faith as the Church Pew Sports crew helps listeners see the bigger picture behind the games we love. In this episode, Dr. Ken tackles the often tricky topic of finances with teenagers and young adults. From who pays for what to how much control parents should keep as kids become more independent, they unpack what it looks like to guide—not grip—the financial reins.Dr. Ken and Cynthia dig into everything from financial responsibility in high school to the bigger choices college students face. They talk about how a parent's own relationship with money inevitably trickles down to their kids, why letting teens make a few bad choices can be healthy, and they even wade into topics like tithing, allowance, and that awkward moment when you realize your fully grown child is still on your family phone plan. It's a candid, practical conversation with plenty of laughs and some real talk about equipping teens to make wise financial choices—even when it's uncomfortable, unexpected, or involves a questionable boat.

You'll craft a clear intention statement, choose affirmations you truly believe, and pair them with visualization that engages your body's felt sense of relief, freedom, and confidence. We also unpack Catherine Ponder's three prosperity laws—receiving, mental attraction, and mental acceptance—so you can give without strings, dwell on what you want to magnetize, and claim your good now. Expect precise language tips to retire scarcity talk, permission-based “allowing” statements for chronic givers, and practical guardrails to stay prudent while expanding your capacity to receive.Gratitude threads through it all. A nightly list powers your subconscious to create more of what you appreciate, while belief statements like “I believe I am destined to be wealthy very soon” reduce inner friction that blocks opportunities. You'll leave with ready-to-use wealth, money, and prosperity mantras, plus visualization ideas—from vision boards to “mind movies”—that make practice consistent and fun. If you're ready to speak a new financial reality into being and feel it land in your nervous system, this conversation is your map.If this helped you align with abundance, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs the shift, and leave a quick review so more listeners can find these tools.Get ready for the upcoming astrological shifts by getting your own Cosmic Tower! https://thewellnessenterprise.com/product/cosmic-tower/?twe=AquarianWaveIntroducing the Cosmic Tower — a revolutionary energy harmonizing device designed to uplift your space, restore vitality, and bring coherence to your life. The college sports landscape is undergoing a revolution that few fans truly understand. In this eye-opening conversation, University of Michigan lecturer Greg Dooley breaks down the complex world of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) compensation that's transforming collegiate athletics from its century-old amateur foundations into something resembling professional sports.Dooley expertly navigates the various ways today's college athletes receive compensation—from traditional scholarships to corporate sponsorships, booster-funded "collectives," and new revenue-sharing programs that allow schools to directly pay athletes up to $20.5 million annually. The financial implications are staggering, with even powerhouse programs like Michigan facing budget shortfalls and universities adding student fees to cover costs. What makes this discussion particularly valuable is Dooley's balanced perspective on both benefits and concerns. While acknowledging that compensating athletes is fundamentally fair given their role in generating massive revenues, he highlights troubling consequences like the cutting of non-revenue sports and the thousands of athletes who enter the transfer portal only to end up without teams, scholarships, or educational opportunities. Most compelling is Dooley's insight into the potential future of college athletics. Will top programs eventually break away to form professional minor leagues affiliated with universities? How will the relationship between academics and athletics evolve? And who should bear responsibility for developing future professional athletes—universities or the leagues that ultimately benefit from their training?Whether you're a die-hard sports fan or simply interested in the changing economics of higher education, this conversation provides crucial context for understanding a transformation that extends far beyond the playing field. Life in the Peloton is proudly brought to you by MAAP The sport of professional cycling has everything. Dramatic storylines, heroic champions, tear jerking wins, and more. But, one thing it seems to be lacking is cash. Every year, it seems like teams have to fight harder and harder to get sponsorship to pay their riders. Compared to the likes of soccer and other mainstream sports, budgets in cycling are a drop in the ocean. I wanted to find out how professional cycling is able to keep rolling despite the financial struggles, and see if there's anything teams can do to increase their revenue and grow the sport as a whole, so I spoke to some key stakeholders in the sport to find out more. In this special edition of Life In The Peloton, I speak to my first team boss and manager of Team Picnic Post NL, Iwan Spekenbrink, General Race Director of Flander's Classics, Scott Sunderland, current pro seeing out his last season after 17 years as a rider, Simon Clarke, Bas Tietema, owner of TDT Unibet Rockets - the new kids on the block looking to redefine the fan - team relationship through storytelling alongside chasing results, and finally Dr Cillian Kelly; a master statistician with the cold hard facts on the situation to see if it is really as bleak as it seems. Guys, this episode is a deep dive into the sport we all love to find out if it has a future that's financially sustainable, or if teams are always going to be scratching around for sponsorship or closing altogether. Thanks to all my interviewees for speaking to me, and the wider Life In The Peloton team for helping pull this mammoth episode together. I hope you enjoy it! Cheers!
