He's just a southern guy who loves hunting and the outdoors, but you may recognize him as one of the funniest and most relatable people on your social media feed.  Trent Ellis is our guest on this week's podcast, and we have one heck of a good time!  Trent is one of the most down-to-earth people you will ever find, and he shares with us his background and the journey that lead him to creating the online comedy videos and skits we all know and love.  We talk a lot about hunting, take some trips down memory lane, and our discussion over our favorite hunting season snacks resulted in Trent adding some items to his grocery list.  It was a pleasure to spend an hour with Trent, who at the end of the day is just like the rest of us and always finding comedic ways to make light of every day occurrences. Fall Obsession Podcast is sponsored by:Hoot Camo Company (https://hootcamo.com/)Bear River Archery (https://www.bearriverarchery.com/)Trophy Edits (https://trophyedits.com/?ref=fallobsession)The Outdoor Call Radio App (https://www.theoutdoorcallradio.com/)

Want to know what's going on with Virginia men's basketball? Like with many complicated things in life the answers you are looking for are simple. Sometimes you just have to talk to a guy in Philly. That's what we did as Zach Carey joins us to talk about the in's and out's of offense, defense, players and Tony Bennett. The only thing we didn't ask him? Where can you find Philly's best cheesesteak? We'll save that argument inducing question for another time. But first, Will and Jim talk about a disappointing end to ACC football. It was a bad finish to an already rocky season. The Cheez-It Bowl began with a thud for Miami before they dusted themselves off for a rally. It wasn't enough though as they fell to Oklahoma State and lost D'Eriq King to an ACL injury. Jim has some thoughts regarding the 'Fire Manny Diaz' crowd. Wake Forest got off to a good start before wearing down against Wisconsin in the Duke's Mayo Bowl. Find out who hits the Transfer Portal from the Deac's. Next season the offense looks good but what about the defense? Zach Carey Notre Dame had the misfortune of drawing the short straw and facing off with Alabama in one of two College Football Playoff semifinals. No more 'friends with benefits' for the Irish next season when it comes to the ACC. Jim's highlight of the game? Nick Saban getting a flag. Will proves that even after 21 years he's still got some 'Southern Boy' in him. Yes, ACC fans will have to suck it up listening to the 0-6 taunts but it can't be nearly as bad as the fate that awaits Clemson fans. When your head coach taunts an opponent by voting them No. 11 and you lose against said team then karma is at work. Mouth meet foot. Brent Venables seemingly had no answer for the Ohio State offense. Meanwhile, social media stirs the pot with a Justin Fields vs Trevor Lawrence who goes first in the draft scenario. So Long ACC Football The pain doesn't stop with the College Football Playoff debacle. It picked up the very next day with the Bowl Season action. First, the Gator Bowl where NC State (a ranked team) fell victim to Kentucky (an unranked team). Turnovers were instrumental along with the Wildcats controlling key periods of possession. We look at how the Wolfpack will look next year (and hey, it's good news). With key players sitting out North Carolina still had a decent game against Texas A&M. The Aggies simply took control in the latter portion of this matchup to cinch the win. The Tar Heels should be the second best team in the ACC next season and we'll tell you why. Thankfully There's Basketball We start looking closer at the trials and tribulations of ACC men's basketball on the podcast as we move into 2021. Our first look is Virginia a team that began with high hopes ranked at No. 4 nationally but who has fallen to No. 22 in the AP Top 25. What's going on in Charlottesville? Our guest, Zach Carey of Locker Room Access has a good eye and ear when it comes to Cavalier basketball. Here are some of the highlights of Will's interview with Zach. Is the defense as good this year?Where is Sam Hauser coming up short?Turnovers were the key to the loss to Gonzaga. Was it a learning opportunity?Rating Kihei Clark's performance. If given the opportunity can Reece Beekman deliver? Is Casey Morsell thinking too much?Trey Murphy - Is he the biggest surprise?Kadin Shedrick steps up.Where can Virginia's three-point shooting improve? Is Tony Bennett trying to figure out the best offense for this team? How to reconcile the fan behavior of the Philadelphia Eagles vs Virginia Cavaliers. Be sure to follow Zach Carey on Twitter and his coverage of Virginia at Locker Room Access.

Note: We WILL go over our normal 2 hour time, you will need to be called in before 10 PM Eastern to listen to the show in its entirety live. The three of us didn't believe this was going to happen. We believed if ANYONE could beat cancer, it would be our friend, Tracy Smothers. Last weekend it looked like he had turned the corner, not easily, but he had turned it. Suddenly, Wednesday we got the news that Tracy didn't make it, cancer won the battle. The thing is, it won the battle, but not the war. Tracy didn't give up, despite the pain and illness chemo causes. He fought through having another surgery designed to strengthen his body for more chemo. He had even posted on Facebook before cancer hit Tracy in such a way even he couldn't get back up from it. Cancer may have taken Tracy's body, but it never took his spirit. Tonight Sean, Steve & Katie, along with our friend Joel Gertner from ECW will remember our good friend Tracy Smothers. We have pulled interviews he did on our show, including his last interview, which was a catharsis of sorts, as Tracy mends bridges he had taken a torch to. We have also included the morning show interview Tracy did with Sean and me to promote Wrestle Wars. This will be difficult, but we will get through it, together. Should we have time, we will talk about some major breaking news concerning AAA's Triplemania, which is an exclusive to ERN, thanks to our friend Hugo Savinovich, the latest hilarity posted by Lionel Green, AKA Lio Rush, and believe us, it's hilarious. We'll also discuss the latest move by Court Bauer and MLW, Hell In A Cell, AEW Dynamite, NXT and more. Please join us as we celebrate the life of a dear friend and a brave warrior.

Jonathan Hood talks about the life and times of the late Tracy Smothers who passed away at the age of 58 with lymphoma. Hear the wild stories and the highlights of the career of a "Wild Eyed Southern Boy" twitter.com/wrestlingtwt instagram.com/wrestlingtwt Professional wrestling career Early career (1982–1990) Smothers was from Springfield, TN. He graduated from Springfield High School, where he played football, golf, and wrestled. Smothers was the first person in Springfield High School history to go to the state championship in wrestling. Smothers started his career in the Memphis promotion on Saturday morning TV. Steve Armstrong and Tracy Smothers started teaming as The Wild-Eyed Southern Boys in Florida Championship Wrestling in 1987 where they feuded with The New Breed. They moved on to Southeast Championship Wrestling where they feuded with The Stud Stable. In 1989, he won the CWF Tag Team Championship in the newly renamed Continental Wrestling Federation. While in Continental, Smothers wrestled an unmuzzled bear that was announced as 550 lbs; Tracy took the bear to the mat several times. The bear, incapable of understanding the situation, thought they were playing.[2] World Championship Wrestling (1990–1992) Smothers and Armstrong competed in World Championship Wrestling for a number of years and were known as the Southern Boys and later the Young Pistols upon turning heel.[3] Smothers and Armstrong had a long feud with The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin).[3] Smothers' last major appearance for WCW was on January 21, 1992 at Clash of the Champions XVIII, as he teamed with Terry Taylor in a loss to Marcus Alexander Bagwell and Brian Pillman.[3] Smoky Mountain Wrestling (1992–1995) Smothers achieved his greatest singles success in Jim Cornette's Smoky Mountain Wrestling promotion which was based out of Knoxville, Tennessee. Between 1992 and 1995, "The Wild Eyed Southern Boy", competed as a babyface for SMW and won the Heavyweight title twice, the tag team titles once (with "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony, known as the "T.H.U.G.'S"), and the "Beat the Champ" TV title on three separate occasions. Smothers had notable feuds during this time against "Prime Time" Brian Lee, Chris Candido, Tony Anthony, The Heavenly Bodies, and The Gangstas. He also competed as a heel in the United States Wrestling Association during the SMW vs. USWA feud in 1995. World Wrestling Federation (1996–1997) In the summer of 1996, Smothers began wrestling in the WWF as Freddie Joe Floyd, a babyface jobber to various up and comers, most notably Hunter Hearst-Helmsley and Stone Cold Steve Austin.[4] His only meaningful win under the Floyd gimmick was an upset of Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw in his debut, which resulted in Bradshaw beating Floyd in a subsequent rematch.[4] He also scored a count out win over Triple H, thanks to Mr. Perfect distracting Helmsley.[4] His entire gimmick was a rib on Gerald Brisco and Jack Brisco, as they both came from Bowlegs, Oklahoma (the same home town Freddie Joe Floyd was billed as being from).[4] Jack Brisco’s real name is Fred Joe Brisco, and Gerald’s full name is Floyd Gerald Brisco. Extreme Championship Wrestling (1997–1999) Later in his career he joined Extreme Championship Wrestling as "The Main Man" Tracy Smothers. He was often mocked by the crowd with chants of "Freddy Joe!!" regarding his WWF stint and was most notably remembered for doing a goofy dance, that ECW announcer Joey Styles often commented on by saying "what the hell is with that awful dance."
