In this episode, I talk about Snake Oil, a new game show on Fox, my commercial auditions class at The Alliance Theatre, followed by another class called Voiceover: Audiobook Narration. And how I finally, finally, finally landed an agent. Plus my day filming a Popeye's commercial and what happened when I volunteered for the hot seat with Amy Jo Berman. In this episode, I talk about two different court TV shows I worked on recently, a user generated content project I did (otherwise known as UGC), visiting a college campus where a TV show I worked on was set, doing my first web series, and the start of a Commercial Audition class I'm taking at The Alliance Theatre. Since I'm doing much less background and more real acting these days, I should probably rename this "The Acting Scoop," but that would likely be too complicated a thing to do, so I'll just skip it. In this episode, I talk about an Ally Bank commercial, my Film III Class at The Alliance Theatre, a weird Booth Filler Job I did at a convention in downtown Atlanta, and a few odd background jobs I've done, although I have pretty much stopped doing those. And then there may or may not be content about a documentary series I applied to. It turns out I have what may be confidential information in here, so when I release this, it means I didn't get that job. But if there's nothing in here about it, then it means I've removed that content because I'm actually moving forward. We'll have to wait and see. So, if you hear no details about a docuseries, that's why. Which also means although I've finished recording this episode in mid-June 2023, I may have to wait to release it, until I get a definitive answer on the documentary reality show. [A month later] I was notified on July 26, 2023 that I was not moving forward for the dating show, so I was free to release this episode! Created and hosted by Cavan Hendron, The Bradshaw Effect breaks down and discusses how the ideal Carrie Bradshaw lifestyle from Sex and the City isn't always the reality of living in the concrete jungle of New York City. In this episode, Cavan sits down with the incredible Patrick O'Neill to discuss his journey and career in the Broadway/theatre industry, the power of reaching out, and his advice for those continuing to brave the business. About Patrick: Patrick was last represented on Broadway as the Associate Choreographer of Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical School of Rock, which he also staged in Sydney, Melbourne, and Seoul. He currently serves as the Associate Choreographer on the Broadway-bound musical The Heart of Rock and Roll, celebrating the music of Huey Lewis, and on Ever After, a musical adaptation of the 1998 film. As a director, he is currently developing and co-writing Vacancy, a story that sheds light on the life of Norman Bates from Alfred Hitchcock's ‘Psycho' and the new American play ‘Life, Liberty' starring Anupam Kher. He serves as the choreographer of Radio 930, a new musical centered around a group of young rebels in East Germany who used banned western rock music to bring about the fall of the Berlin Wall. As an Assistant Choreographer, he developed Barry Manilow's Harmony for Center Theatre Group in Los Angeles and The Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, The Nutty Professor with Jerry Lewis and Marvin Hamlisch, and the Broadway revival of On A Clear Day You Can See Forever starring Harry Connick, Jr and Jessie Mueller. In this episode, I talk about a student film I just worked on called "Hang Up The Gloves," which I didn't even have to audition for, another student film called "The School Mistress," playing Abraham Lincoln in an independent film called "American Civil War," completing my Film II class at the Alliance Theatre, and my continued group coaching with Amy Jo Berman. Let me tell you that sometimes you get sucked into watching all kinds of television and movies to prepare for a scene. In my case this was several Bernie Madoff productions and a cute TV show on Amazon called "The Summer I Turned Pretty." Not that I ever turned pretty growing up. And there was actually no specific summer when I felt I turned handsome. Finally, a crazy orange bird has been attacking my house for the past 3 weeks, but I scared it away with three plastic owls I bought on Amazon. Similarly, growing up Greek Orthodox, my parents scared me away from Easter service without having to buy anything online. They were both clever and frugal. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebackgroundscoop/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thebackgroundscoop/support

Godfrey, Loren Lott, and Jenny Saldana visit Friends Like Us and discuss social media, Monique, and black representation in Disney Spaces with host Marina Franklin! GODFREY is one of the hottest comedians on the circuit. Growing up in Chicago, he constantly got in trouble for misbehaving and being an all-around class clown. Godfrey's Nigerian parents unknowingly encouraged his bad behavior by showing him classic comedy films from an early age. While performing impressions of his college football teammates, Godfrey realized his irreverent style of comedy might be more than just a hobby.. As one of the most dominant forces in the comedy circuit, Godfrey has been seen on stages from New York and Los Angeles to Dubai. Along with his own one-hour special on Comedy Central, Season 2 of Netflix's Tiffany Hadish Presents: They Ready. Godfrey starred recently in HBO Max “That Damn Michaels Che show, the FX pilot "Bronx Warrants," adding to his onscreen credits which include ZOOLANDER, "30 Rock," and a recurring role on "Louie." Loren Lott is a California girl from San Diego. At a young age Loren's family knew she would entertain because she would line up stuffed animals, toys and her twin brother, at the bottom of her tree house and give grand performances. Loren dreamed of entertaining, but her mother, Sharian Lott, told her at age 7 she wouldn't be able to go to Knott's Berry Farm if she were famous so Loren decided to pursue other things, but Sharian did tell Loren that at 13 she could ask her again. To Sharian's surprise when Loren turned 13 the only gift she wanted was a subscription to backstage.com so she could start submitting herself for auditions and Sharian accepted. After sending hundreds of bold messages to agents Loren finally got one in Hollywood along with a manager a month later. After pursuing her dreams in California for several years, Loren moved to Atlanta where she received a BA in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in radio/tv/film from Clark Atlanta University. Loren continued acting while in Atlanta appearing live in SHREK THE MUSICAL at the Alliance Theatre and on several Television shows including GREENLEAF, THE GAME, TALES, FATAL ATTRACTION, POWERS, a feature film called TAG, and several independent projects. While in Atlanta Loren also got cast for season 14 of American idol where she made it to Top 16! After American Idol Loren started her higher theatre career, landing the role of Gladys Night in MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL understudying Diana Ross, in the National tour as well as the Broadway company in New York. After taking a year off Broadway, Loren returned when she booked the job of a swing in ONCE ON THIS ISLAND. Loren then appeared live as CeCe Winans in BORN FOR THIS the Musical in Boston making her leading lady debut before returning to ONCE ON THIS ISLAND two months later, to take over the lead role of Timoune for a few months.. Aside from professional acting Loren enjoys making internet content and has managed to create and collaborate several videos that have racked up millions of views across her social media platforms. Loren considers herself very blessed to be continuously working and gaining support. She adores her family and is grateful for all of the sacrifices they have made for her dreams.
