Send us a textIn this episode, Andrea and Eric tackle Hallmark's Spring Into Love lineup—and let's just say, it's a bumpy ride through romance, red flags, and questionable plots. From Jenna's First Love to Kiki's Fourth Ingredient, they break down all four interconnected movies (plus Journey to You) with their signature humor and honest takes.Expect passionate debates over unrealistic love declarations, a few favorite performances (yes, Steve Lund gets a shoutout), and plenty of eye-rolls at the rushed “I love yous.” Did any of these stories actually win their hearts? Or was this spring season more meh than magical?

It's our first episode in November: where it's too early for Christmas decorations but not for Christmas movies! Our first Holiday Movie is Christmas Cottage. It takes us back to our Hallmark roots and stars Merritt Patterson as Lacey, an architectural designer(?) who returns to her hometown for her bestie's wedding, where she runs into an old flame Ean, played by Steve Lund and sparks fly, especially when they are forced to spend the night in the Christmas Cottage (how scandalous). In this episode: we dub Thanksgiving as Christmas Solstace and the month of November as Practice-Mas, debate furiously over whether or not it's a good idea to get married on Christmas Eve, and decide that if an inspirational message is done in needlepoint it must be the truth. This month is like Corinne's second birthday because she loves Christmas so much but we both had a flocking good time at the Christmas Cottage and hope you join us.

TW: I mention that I experienced child abuse brieflyPicture a moment when you've made a mistake, and you're sure it's unforgivable. You don't want to do it again, yet you find yourself repeating the same errors. Our guest today, Brother Bradley R. Wilcox, author of The Continuous Atonement, addresses this very human predicament. His book presents a hopeful message, asserting that Christ's forgiveness is available to us even when we fall short repeatedly. We shift gears to discuss the latest updates in youth programs within the Church of Jesus Christ. Adapting to the complexities of the modern world, these programs are designed to channel discipleship and guide our youth in their spiritual journey. We delve into Steve Lund's insightful thoughts about 'the new eagle' and how these programs align with the Come, Follow Me curriculum. The interplay between head and heart in faith, we find, is a powerful compass. As we navigate life's ups and downs, higher principles often act as our guiding light. In the new For Strength of Youth pamphlet, we explore how faith, a blend of intellect and emotion, helps us to know Christ better. We also discuss the Aaronic Priesthood Quorum theme and the Young Women's theme—memorizing them can reinforce our understanding of identity and purpose. In conclusion, we discover the transformative power of prayer and testimony, and how they strengthen our bond with our heavenly father. Prepare to be inspired, enlightened and uplifted as we journey through this episode together.Brad is currently a professor in BYU's Department of Ancient Scripture.  Bradley R. Wilcox was sustained as the First Counselor in the Young Men General Presidency for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 1, 2023. Prior to his call, he had been serving as Second Counselor since April 2020.

From producing episodes of SICOP Talks Winter Ops to hosting State Showcase Webinars to collaborating with other winter maintenance organizations, SICOP has had a busy year. AASHTO’s technical service programs are supported by voluntary contributions from state DOTs. For SICOP this contribution is $4,000 and has been since the creation of the program back in 1998. It’s important for the program to communicate the activities accomplished back to our member states to show how their contribution was used to promote winter maintenance and help states with their winter maintenance maintenance mission. To view the hard copy of the 2019 SICOP Year in Review CLICK HERE

Actor Dani Kind from the hit TV Show Workin’ Moms is joining the conversation on Cue To Cue today!  I absolutely love my time with Dan. Dani lets ‘er rip as we discuss all things creative living in this episode. Dani has a unique way of looking at life that encourages one to not sweat the small stuff and realize that it’s okay for things to be hard work. That is not a reason to pursue something you love to do. She reminded me that we have a capacity to hold more than we know and to go along for the ride and you will meet yourself on the other side where you will discover that you not only made it through but have grown in capacity to take on more. In this episode:   the importance of finding the right fit when it comes to an agent and how you need to advocate for yourself How to keep motivated as an artist and embrace hard work Why it is important to begin in class as an actor How she manages a busy career on set with young children and what motherhood has revealed about herself as an artist Why we need to be willing to have uncomfortable conversations not only in our work but in our day to day life The most meaningful moments for  her time on the set of Workin’ Moms   A little about Dani: Dani Kind stars as 'Anne' in CBC's half-hour comedy series Workin' Moms and recurs as 'Mercedes Gardner' in SyFy's hit series Wynonna Earp. She recently starred in Blue Ice Picture's thriller Banana Splits opposite Sara Canning and Steve Lund.  Other recent credits include CBS' Ransom, BET's In Contempt, and a supporting role alongside Peter Sarsgaard in Veena Sud's The Lie which premiered at TIFF 2018.

This week, after the news, we’ll cover the drive-in classic, “Drag Me To Hell” followed by our discussion of the short film, “Its Yellow Eyes”, and our modern-horror feature film, “Happy Death Day” Get your Pop Rocks ready, turn up the volume, and relax. Here we go...  News Features: If you remember the animal musicians from The Banana Splits Adventure Hour as your furry friends, that might change soon. The children’s show that aired from 1968 to 1970, and into syndication after that is going to get a horror retake. Reports are that Warner Brothers and Syfy are teaming up to bring the Splits gang back as a film is about “a boy named Harley” who is celebrating his birthday by attending a Banana Splits TV show taping with his family. Things then “take an unexpected turn, and the body count quickly rises.” Release details are still coming, though Dani Kind, Steve Lund, and Sara Canning will be joining the cast. We were skeptical, but there is already an IMDB page https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2019/02/the-banana-splits-are-returning-but-as-a-horror-fi.html In general movie news along with some horror news, Amazon is stepping up their movie game. They are now striving, as a start, to add 30 original movies a year to their lineup including 8 horror movies from Blumhouse this year that will not show in theaters, only exclusively on Amazon. Blumhouse is the company that has brought us tons of great films such as Split, the most recent Halloween, Happy Death Day, and Get Out. So we’re certainly looking forward to what Amazon will be bringing us in the coming months. http://www.startribune.com/amazon-movies-branch-out-with-thrillers-sexy-date-night-flicks-horror-and-more/506221022/ The man who helped bring us American Horror Story has announced he has another series in the works that will begin filming this summer. Called Hollywood, he describes it in an Instragram post as “a love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown.” It’s a deal with Netflix, and will have an initial airing exclusively on that network. No more details at this time, but he teases us that more is to come. Of course there is, and we can hardly wait. https://ew.com/tv/2019/02/22/ryan-murphy-netflix-series-hollywood/ If they’d had Google in the movies, things might have been very different as they show in a series of ads that completely change the outcome. Two of them feature the classics Scream and Psycho. They are short, effective and very funny. Who knew that “Okay Google” could be a life-saver? We’ve got a link to the commercials in the show notes, so you should check them out.      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhvUWIcb68s and  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQPsS7XfLPw Tom Savini has announced on his twitter feed “Coming soon. A gigantic coffee table photo biography. Release date to be announced.” He’s truly a multi-talented guy who has been a part of dozens of horror and action movies and shows as actor, director, makeup effects artist, stuntman and crew, including Dawn of the Dead, both Creepshow movies, From Dusk Til Dawn, and Machete. He’s had a long and interesting career, and the book should be one worth checking out. https://twitter.com/THETomSavini/status/1099313557957693440/photo/1 Drive-In Special: Drag Me To Hell (2009) A loan officer who evicts an old woman from her home finds herself the recipient of a supernatural curse. You can’t manage what you don’t measure. Agencies have been performing winter maintenance in one manner or another for a hundred years. Measuring how well we’ve been doing is a much harder proposition largely because no two storms are alike and the fact that they come and go so quickly and often overlap. Our two guests on this episode are no strangers to winter maintenance; Steve Lund is the State Maintenance Engineer for the Minnesota DOT and Caleb Dobbins is the State Maintenance Engineer for the State of New Hampshire. Both states have well developed programs to measure how well they perform winter service. Listen in as we talk about levels of service and performance metrics in use today and how they are used to manage winter maintenance operations.

It’s not all that common for a musician to release his first full-length record at the age of 34, but that’s exactly what Joel Ebner is doing. After nearly six years of false starts, mutations, and detours as City States, he’s finally completed his debut LP, Geography. Maybe it’s the perfectionism that took him so long. Or the fear of failure. Maybe he’s a late bloomer. What’s clear is that Ebner—along with the help of keyboardist / producer Steve Lund and drummer Mike Burmeister—has taken the time to create a capital-A Album: a meticulously-crafted record filled with nuance, surprise, and stylistic range.
