Barry Morphew is heading to trial in October for the murder of his wife, Suzanne Morphew — the second time he's been charged. The first case fell apart due to prosecutorial misconduct so severe the DA was disbarred. What Barry did between the two prosecutions tells a story with two very different readings. He moved to Arizona. Used fake names. Lived at a trailer park in Cave Creek under aliases that kept his identity compartmentalized — Bruce at one place, Lee at another. A woman recognized him at a bar and called him by name. He denied it. At the time, Suzanne's remains had already been found in a shallow grave and an autopsy had identified a restricted wildlife tranquilizer in her bone marrow. Prosecutors would later allege Barry was the only civilian in the area with access to it.After the grand jury re-indicted him in June 2025 and he pleaded not guilty a second time, Barry allegedly signed paperwork authorizing the release and cremation of Suzanne's remains — the prosecution's most important physical evidence. Law enforcement found out and seized the remains one day before cremation was scheduled. Court documents show Barry's signature on the authorization forms. Is this the behavior of an innocent man? Or something else entirely? The audience decides.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Barry Morphew has been charged with Suzanne Morphew's murder for the second time. The first prosecution imploded so badly the lead prosecutor was disbarred. Between cases, Barry's behavior raised questions that go far beyond any courtroom. He left Colorado after charges were dropped and moved more than 600 miles to Cave Creek, Arizona. According to multiple sources and the grand jury indictment, he used at least two aliases — going by Bruce at a local bar and Lee at a gas station. Nobody in town knew who he was until the day he was arrested during a traffic stop in June 2025. Meanwhile, investigators had discovered Suzanne's remains in a shallow grave near Moffat and identified a wildlife tranquilizer in her bone marrow that prosecutors say only Barry had access to.After re-indictment, extradition, and a not-guilty plea, Barry allegedly authorized paperwork to cremate Suzanne's remains while the murder case was pending. Prosecutors intervened the day before cremation was scheduled and recovered signed forms with Barry's name on them. His defense team said he takes no position. His daughters stand with him. Suzanne's siblings stand against him.The behavioral record between two prosecutions. Both readings. Barry Morphew faces first-degree murder charges in Suzanne Morphew's death for the second time — and what he allegedly did between prosecutions is now part of the behavioral record heading into an October trial. After the first case collapsed and the original prosecutor was disbarred, Barry relocated to Arizona under multiple aliases. He lived in a trailer park, went by different names depending on who he was talking to, and denied his own identity when a woman at a bar recognized him. All of this happened while investigators were finding Suzanne's body in a shallow grave and pulling a wildlife tranquilizer from her bones that prosecutors say only Barry had a prescription for. Then came the paperwork. After posting $3 million bond on the new charges, Barry allegedly signed forms authorizing the cremation of Suzanne's remains — remains that contain the prosecution's most critical forensic evidence. An undersheriff collecting the body from the funeral home learned it was set to be cremated the following day. Prosecutors say Barry signed the authorization and paid for it.His lawyers say he takes no position. Twelve jurors will have their own.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Barry Morphew is preparing to stand trial for the alleged murder of his wife, Suzanne Morphew, whose disappearance on Mother's Day weekend in 2020 became one of Colorado's most watched criminal investigations. The first prosecution was dismissed in 2022, but after Suzanne's remains were found in 2023, prosecutors brought a new first-degree murder indictment in 2025. Barry Morphew has pleaded not guilty, and the trial is scheduled to begin October 13, 2026, with proceedings expected to last up to six weeks. In this episode, we break down a defense motion asking the court to exclude what it calls “so-called victimology testimony.” The motion argues that labels like “victimology,” “pattern of life,” “behavioral analysis,” and “profiling” risk turning investigative context into unfair courtroom testimony. The prosecution is likely to see this same evidence as critical context for Suzanne's life, her routines, her relationship, her communications, and the circumstances around her disappearance. Let's examine why behavior matters in homicide investigations, why prosecutors want it included and defense attorneys see it as dangerous. #SuzanneMorphew #BarryMorphew #ProfilingEvil #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #ColoradoCrime #MorphewTrial #Victimology #BehavioralAnalysis #PatternOfLife #CriminalBehavior #ForensicAnalysis #CourtroomAnalysis #JusticeForSuzanne #MissingPersons #GIS #DomesticHomicide #CriminalInvestigation #BAM #Tranquilizer #Colorado #TrueCrimePodcast #CrimeAnalysis========================================20% OFF Newspapers.comhttps://www.newspapers.com/go/podcast/?ref=profilingevil?xid=8877&utm_source=ProfilingEvilPodcast&utm_medium=podcst&utm_campaign=ProfilingEvil26========================================Email your questions to: ProfilingEvil@gmail.com========================================

8 WARNING Signs of Domestic Violence Homicide, Ashley Flynn & Suzanne Morphew | Profiling Evil

Let's discuss one of the most important and uncomfortable subjects in true crime, the path from coercive control to domestic violence homicide. Using the work of forensic criminologist Dr. Jane Monckton Smith, we're breaking down the eight-stage pattern she identified after reviewing hundreds of domestic homicide cases. This is not about blaming victims. It's about understanding offender behavior, escalation, and the warning signs people too often miss until it's too late. We'll start with two cases that are making headlines right now. In Ohio, Caleb Flynn has been charged in the shooting death of his wife, Ashley Flynn, and has pleaded not guilty. In Colorado, Barry Morphew has been indicted again in the death of his wife, Suzanne Morphew, has pleaded not guilty, and is awaiting trial. Both men are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. What matters for this discussion is not pre-judging guilt but understanding why intimate partner homicide so often follows recognizable patterns of control, separation, stalking, fear, and escalation. We'll also talk about the difference between immediate fear and chronic fear, why separation can be the most dangerous moment, why strangulation matters so much, and why friends and family need to stop asking, “Why didn't she just leave?” and start asking, “What was he doing to make leaving so dangerous?” This video provides a practical and behavioral framework that can benefit, investigators, survivors, advocates, and families alike. #ProfilingEvil #DomesticViolence #CoerciveControl #JaneMoncktonSmith #AshleyFlynn #SuzanneMorphew #BarryMorphew #CalebFlynn #TrueCrime #IntimatePartnerViolence #Stalking #DVHomicide #CrimeAnalysis #VictimSafety #BehavioralAnalysis #DV #DomesticViolence #GIS #Mapping #CrimeMapping #esri========================================CrimeCon Discount Code: https://crimecon.regfox.com/cctw3ntys1x (In Voucher/Coupon area, enter: PROFILINGEVIL========================================https://gamutpodcasts.com/show/gardensofevilinsidethezionsocietycult/========================================20% OFF Newspapers.comhttps://www.newspapers.com/go/podcast/?ref=profilingevil?xid=8877&utm_source=ProfilingEvilPodcast&utm_medium=podcst&utm_campaign=ProfilingEvil26========================================Email your questions to: ProfilingEvil@gmail.com========================================

Barry Morphew stood in an Alamosa County courtroom Monday and pleaded not guilty to murdering his wife Suzanne Morphew for the second time. Suzanne vanished Mother's Day 2020 from their Colorado home. Her body wasn't found until September 2023 — discovered by accident while investigators searched for someone else entirely. The autopsy changed everything: forensic testing found BAM, an animal tranquilizer, in Suzanne's bone marrow. According to the grand jury indictment, Barry Morphew was the only private citizen in that part of Colorado with a prescription for BAM. He admitted using it on a deer at their property just weeks before his wife disappeared. The first prosecution fell apart spectacularly. DA Linda Stanley's office bungled discovery so badly that a judge barred 14 of their expert witnesses. She was disbarred in 2024 for misconduct — including appearing on a YouTube true crime show during the active case and launching an investigation into the presiding judge based on online conspiracy theories. The Colorado Supreme Court upheld her disbarment last year. Now a new prosecutor has secured a fresh indictment. Barry waived his right to a speedy trial; his defense says they need time to review the evidence. Trial begins October 13, 2026. Today we cover the full case — the marriage, the secret affair, the damning text messages, and whether this second prosecution can finish what the first one started.#BarryMorphew #SuzanneMorphew #TrueCrimeToday #MorphewTrial #ColoradoMurder #LindaStanley #DisbarredDA #ColdCase #MurderCase #BreakingNewsJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Barry Morphew pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder Monday in the death of his wife Suzanne Morphew, who disappeared Mother's Day 2020. This marks the second time he's faced these charges. The first case imploded in 2022 when DA Linda Stanley's office failed to meet discovery deadlines and withheld key evidence from the defense — including unknown male DNA found in Suzanne's vehicle. Stanley was later disbarred for misconduct. Suzanne's remains were found accidentally in September 2023 in a shallow grave near Moffat, Colorado. An autopsy revealed BAM — a tranquilizer used on large animals — in her bone marrow. Prosecutors say Barry Morphew is the only private citizen in the region who had access to that drug, and he admitted using it weeks before Suzanne vanished. Court documents describe a troubled marriage: Suzanne texted Barry "I'm done" four days before disappearing, confided in friends about abuse, and had been secretly planning to leave him for a man she'd been seeing for two years. Barry maintains his innocence and says investigators have "tunnel vision." His attorney says this case will end the same way the first one did. Trial is set for October 2026. The disappearance of Suzanne Morphew on Mother's Day weekend 2020 ignited one of the most polarizing true-crime cases in America — and now, with Barry Morphew newly released on bond and facing a fresh indictment, the battle over guilt versus innocence is entering its most critical stage. In this in-depth Hidden Killers breakdown, Tony Brueski walks listeners through the evolving evidence, the prosecutorial missteps, and the revelations reshaping the case. Suzanne's remains were found in a shallow grave in rural Saguache County in 2023, three years after she vanished. When the autopsy report confirmed homicide and revealed traces of a rare wildlife tranquilizer cocktail (BAM) in her bones, investigators finally had what they believed was their break. Barry was one of the only private citizens in the region with access to the drug. Combine that with troubling telemetry gaps, a deteriorating marriage, and data inconsistencies — and prosecutors say the pattern is undeniable. But the defense sees a shaky case built on circumstantial inference. No eyewitness. No murder weapon. No clear cause of death. They argue the tranquilizer evidence could be the result of contamination, and that law enforcement — already criticized for misconduct in the first prosecution — is doubling down on a narrative rather than hard proof. With a 2025 indictment now in motion, Barry is out on bond under strict supervision, and the community is split: is he a controlling husband who couldn't let Suzanne go, or a man trapped in an investigative tunnel vision? This episode breaks down the timeline, the forensic breakthroughs, the competing theories, and what the next hearings may reveal. The true crime world is once again shaken by a disturbing case that raises more questions than answers. The tragic death of Celeste Rivas, who was discovered concealed inside the trunk of a Tesla belonging to David, has ignited a wave of public concern and investigative curiosity. Early reports from KTLA describe the 70-pound woman as dismembered, a detail that intensifies the urgency surrounding this unfolding story. Law enforcement has made it clear that while they acknowledge the concealment of a body, they have not yet brought homicide charges — not because they've ruled it out, but because the forensic picture remains incomplete. In the realm of breaking news and complex investigations, this case mirrors other high-profile mysteries where patience ultimately revealed the truth. Former prosecutor Jennifer Coffindaffer draws a compelling comparison to the Suzanne Morphew case, where investigators built a strong no-body homicide case, only to discover the remains years later. The Morphew investigation demonstrated the slow, meticulous process required for toxicology, forensic anthropology, and bone analysis — all of which could play a crucial role in the Celeste Rivas timeline. As investigators search for answers, toxicology screens are underway, examining everything from illicit substances to possible toxins. Forensic anthropologists will analyze decomposition, insect activity, and skeletal trauma to narrow down the time and manner of death. The public may see silence, but behind the scenes, the scientific process is moving carefully and deliberately. Law enforcement is signaling not weakness, but patience — ensuring that when charges come, they are backed by irrefutable evidence. Meanwhile, this breaking true crime story continues to expand, touching on broader conversations about missing persons, hidden evidence, and how modern forensic science uncovers what the body can no longer speak aloud. As updates emerge, the case of Celeste Rivas stands as a stark reminder of the painstaking work required to bring justice to victims whose final moments remain shrouded in mystery. #truecrime #celesterivas #breakingnews #investigation #missingperson #justice #forensics #crimenews #newsupdate #lawenforcement Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The Barry Morphew case wasn't just about a missing wife and a husband under suspicion — it became a full-blown indictment of Colorado's justice system itself.  When prosecutors first charged Barry Morphew with murdering his wife Suzanne in 2021, they promised a mountain of evidence and a story that would prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. What followed instead was a spectacular implosion of mismanagement, misconduct, and arrogance that ended with the case being dismissed, experts thrown out, and the lead district attorney ultimately disbarred by the Colorado Supreme Court. In this episode of Hidden Killers with Tony Brueski, we pull apart the wreckage piece by piece — the missed discovery deadlines, the withheld DNA that pointed to another male profile, the public statements that violated ethics rules, and the chaos inside DA Linda Stanley's office that turned one of Colorado's highest-profile murder prosecutions into a national embarrassment. Now, with Suzanne Morphew's remains finally found and new evidence surfacing, the State has charged Barry Morphew again. But this time, they're not just fighting to convict him — they're fighting to restore credibility after their own spectacular collapse the first time around. We're not taking sides here. This isn't about guilt or innocence — it's about what happens when those sworn to uphold justice fail to meet the most basic standard of competence. Can a DA's office recover after destroying its own case? Can the public ever trust them again? Tony Brueski dives deep into the paper trail, the disciplinary rulings, and the ethical implosion that turned the first Barry Morphew case into a cautionary tale for every prosecutor in America. Because when justice gets this sloppy, it doesn't matter who's guilty — everyone loses. #HiddenKillers #BarryMorphew #SuzanneMorphew #LindaStanley #ColoradoJustice #TrueCrime #TonyBrueski #ProsecutorialMisconduct #DisbarredDA #JusticeSystem Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In May 2020, on Mother's Day, Suzanne Morphew disappeared after leaving for a bike ride near her Salida, Colorado home. Her husband, Barry Morphew, told investigators she never returned — but beneath the surface was a story of secrets, tangled relationships and a forensic trail that would span years. The first murder charges against Barry were filed in 2021 — then dismissed in 2022 amid prosecutorial misconduct and investigative errors. Many thought the case was over. But when Suzanne's remains were discovered in September 2023 in a remote shallow grave, new evidence emerged: a rare wildlife tranquilizer mixture known as BAM (butorphanol, azaperone, medetomidine) found in her bones, phone and truck telemetry gaps, and the claim that Barry was the only private citizen in the region with access to that drug. In June 2025, a grand jury in Colorado's 12th Judicial District indicted Barry for first-degree murder. The state says this is the break they've waited for; the defense says it's a recycled narrative built on speculation. In this video we walk through: the newly-released forensic findings and how they changed the case what the prosecution now says happened — from tranquilizer to grave to indictment the defense's counter-arguments: contamination, missing weapon, precedent of a failed case the emotional fallout: Suzanne's daughters, the community watching, the husband who insists he's innocent what's next: upcoming hearings, potential trial timing, and how this case reflects on the justice system Whether you're a longtime follower of true-crime or coming in fresh — this story is about more than who did it. It's about how evidence is built (and rebuilt), how time changes a case, and how truth sometimes hides in the crevices of data, memory and motive.  #BarryMorphew #SuzanneMorphew #TrueCrime #ColdCase #AnimalTranquilizer #BAMdrug #ColoradoCrime #JusticeDelayed #Podcast #HiddenKillersStyle Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Barry Morphew Released on Bond: Inside the Evidence for Guilt vs Innocence On Mother's Day weekend in 2020, Suzanne Morphew vanished from her Colorado home, sparking a desperate search and a storm of suspicion. Her husband, Barry Morphew, told investigators she had gone for a bike ride and never returned. But as days stretched into weeks, the story took a darker turn. In 2021, Barry was arrested for Suzanne's murder — only to see the charges dropped in 2022 when prosecutors admitted they weren't ready. For a while, it seemed the case had collapsed. That changed in 2023 when Suzanne's remains were discovered in rural Saguache County. An autopsy in 2024 ruled her death a homicide, with “unspecified means.” The medical examiner also found something chilling: traces of a tranquilizer cocktail in her bones, the kind used to sedate wildlife. By 2025, prosecutors returned with a new indictment, claiming Barry had both the access and the motive to kill. They point to suspicious gaps in his phone data, marital conflict, and the unique tranquilizer evidence. For them, it's a clear pattern: means, motive, and opportunity. The defense sees it very differently. They stress what's missing: no eyewitness, no definitive cause of death, no direct proof of Barry's hand in Suzanne's final moments. To them, the state is building a case on circumstantial evidence and narrative framing, not hard facts. This year, Barry posted bond — $300,000 on a $3 million surety — and was released under strict monitoring. As he awaits trial, the questions remain: Is this the story of a husband who refused to let go, or the story of a man wrongly accused? In this episode, we break down the full timeline, the evidence, and the arguments on both sides. No speculation, no sensationalism — just the facts. You decide. Now he stands indicted once again, accused of killing the mother of two, and moving her body multiple times before fleeing to Arizona under an alias. In this episode, we take you deep inside the strange and secretive life of Barry Morphew between the collapse of the first murder case—and the shocking return of criminal charges in 2025. After prosecutors dropped the original charges in 2022 due to evidence handling failures, Barry Morphew didn't stay in Colorado to rebuild his name. Instead, he disappeared—600 miles away to Cave Creek, Arizona, where he adopted fake names like “Bruce” and “Lee,” lived in a trailer, and kept a low profile. Locals never suspected they were sharing a beer with a man once accused of killing his wife. That all changed when Suzanne Morphew's remains were accidentally found in 2023—dumped in a remote location known as “the Boneyard.” Forensic testing uncovered a disturbing detail: her bones contained traces of a potent animal tranquilizer cocktail, the same mix Barry was legally allowed to use on wildlife. That bombshell, plus a reexamination of digital forensics, led to a grand jury indictment in 2025. Now, Barry is back in Colorado custody, facing first-degree murder charges—again. His civil lawsuit for $15 million? On pause. His daughters? Still standing by him. But the prosecution isn't pulling punches this time, armed with stronger forensic evidence and no shortage of questions about why Barry lied about who he was and where he'd been. Was he a wrongfully accused husband trying to start fresh? Or a man biding his time, hoping his past would stay buried? This episode unpacks it all—with forensic details, legal twists, and the uncomfortable truth about what happens when justice delays, but doesn't forget. #BarryMorphew #TrueCrimePodcast #SuzanneMorphew #ColdCaseUpdate #GrandJuryIndictment #ForensicEvidence #ColoradoCrime #MurderCharges #CrimeAnalysis #JusticeForSuzanne    Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Big Breakdown Of All Of The Evidence Against Barry Morphew Barry Morphew is once again at the center of a murder investigation after new charges were filed in 2025 for the disappearance and presumed death of his wife, Suzanne Morphew. In this episode, we walk through the full body of evidence—everything prosecutors say Barry didn't count on coming back to haunt him. We're talking GPS data from his truck showing movements inconsistent with his alibi, phone records showing sudden “flight mode” behavior, security footage that doesn't match his timeline, and tranquilizer equipment found in his home. Add in deleted messages, marital tension, and Suzanne's intention to leave him—and the case takes on a much darker shape. We also revisit why the original charges were dropped back in 2022, what changed in the time since, and how new forensic findings from Suzanne's remains may be the final nail in the coffin. You'll hear from legal analysts and investigators as we break down each piece of the puzzle and how the prosecution plans to tell this story to a jury. Is it enough to convict, or will Barry's legal team continue to spin this as a case of circumstantial speculation? This is the full breakdown of what Barry Morphew is really up against. Inside The NEW Charges Against Barry Morphew: Defense Attorney Questions If Jury Will Believe Description: Barry Morphew is facing new murder charges in 2025—nearly three years after his first case was dismissed. This time, prosecutors are armed with something they didn't have before: Suzanne Morphew's remains, discovered in a shallow grave, and forensic analysis showing BAM—a rare animal tranquilizer—was present in her bones. But does this forensic discovery change the game, or are prosecutors still standing on shaky ground? In this episode, we're joined by Defense Attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis to break down the anatomy of the new charges. How strong is the forensic evidence, really? And will a jury be willing to convict without a weapon, a confession, or a confirmed cause of death? We dig into the differences between the original case and the 2025 re-indictment. What new strategies might the prosecution use this time around? And how might the defense punch holes in a narrative that's still largely circumstantial? Eric offers his legal take on how jurors typically react to technical forensic evidence—especially rare substances like BAM that carry emotional weight but can be attacked for lack of direct sourcing. We also explore the legal risk of retrying a case after the original prosecution team was disbarred for discovery violations. Can the new team escape the shadow of those failures, or will the defense use them to build a new layer of doubt? If you want to understand the legal chess match behind the headlines, this episode is for you. High stakes, high scrutiny, and a justice system trying to clean up its own mess. She Planned to Leave—Now She's Gone. Did Barry Morphew Snap? Description: Three days before she vanished, Suzanne Morphew sent Barry a text that cut through years of silence: “I'm done.” Investigators say that message—paired with months of private notes documenting fear, emotional distress, and a long-hidden affair—was the final straw in a collapsing marriage. In this episode, defense attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis joins us to explore a question at the heart of the prosecution's case: Did Barry Morphew snap? We break down the prosecution's narrative: Suzanne was preparing to leave. Barry was losing control. The discovery of Suzanne's remains years later, dosed with a rare tranquilizer only Barry had access to, shifted the case from suspicion to re-indictment. But is the story as airtight as it sounds? Eric takes us inside the legal framework of “trigger-point” violence—how prosecutors connect emotional upheaval to criminal motive, and how defense teams combat that with narratives of coincidence, character, and complexity. Could a single message—combined with circumstantial evidence—be enough to push this case over the reasonable doubt line? We also explore the psychological stakes. What happens when emotional dependency, betrayal, and control collide? And does the timing of Barry's alleged actions suggest a heat-of-the-moment response or calculated escalation? Whether you think Barry is a wrongfully accused husband or a man who couldn't let go, this conversation unpacks the psychological and legal tightrope this case walks—and whether the prosecution can finally balance it in their favor. As investigators unraveled the scene, collected evidence, and conducted interviews, the details in Barry's alibi fell apart. After Barry was charged with his wife's murder in 2021, the lead prosecutor's mishandling of the case led to the charges getting dismissed, and her disbarment. However, authorities didn't give up; in 2023 Suzanne Morphew's remains were found by mistake in an unrelated search for another missing woman. An autopsy found tranquilizer chemicals typically used on animals inside her bones.
