Spider-Man is a character that has an extensive animation history. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is the newest entry in animation of the wall-crawler. When the show was originally announced, it was supposed to be a “prequel” of the Spider-Man character portrayed by Tom Holland in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, during production, the decision was made to have this show exist in its own universe. Still, there are many similarities and easter eggs referencing the MCU. Does this add or detract from this animated series? Swara Salih returns to the podcast and is named the Hall of Justice “Spider-Man” insider. Salih is a freelance writer and podcaster who has written for But Why Tho?, io9, Polygon, The New Arab, and The Nerds of Color, and co-hosts The Middle Geeks podcast. After Season 3, they split up, lose their powers, and begin separate non-crime fighting lives. An event known as the Cleanse forces the group to band together for Season 4. Noted reporter, critic, and podcaster Swara Salih rejoins the show to discuss Season 4. In this episode, they review the storyline behind Season 4 and how it ties up the plot points for the series finale. Welcome back! This week Swara Salih and producer John Liang dig into the new Star Wars series "Resistance". There are several rich political elements in the background of the animated series, and we leave no stone unturned.  Also, Star Wars author Chuck Wendig was fired by Marvel and taken off the future Star Wars comics. He presumably won't be used by LucasFilm and Disney for books in the future. Wendig is notably the author of the Aftermath series and is known for his aggressive political rhetoric on Twitter. Welcome back! This week Swara Salih and producer John Liang dig into the new Star Wars series "Resistance". There are several rich political elements in the background of the animated series, and we leave no stone unturned.  Also, Star Wars author Chuck Wendig was fired by Marvel and taken off the future Star Wars comics. He presumably won't be used by LucasFilm and Disney for books in the future. Wendig is notably the author of the Aftermath series and is known for his aggressive political rhetoric on Twitter.
