Here's the format of the show: The Best Thing I Saw on TV Last Month – Alex, Bill, & Josh talk about a show/episode/event they liked from the last month including MAX's Harley Quinn, Hulu's Futurama & Reservation Dogs, FX's What We Do In The Shadows, HBO's How To with John Wilson, AppleTV+'s The Afterparty, Netflix's Heartstopper, Disney Plus's Bluey, TNT's AEW Collision, & Crunchyroll's The Master Cat Is Depressed Again + Reborn As A Vending Machine Now I Wonder The Dungeon. News Break – Alex, Bill, and Josh break down the latest on the WGA & SAG-AFTRA strikes and the AMPTP's intransigence, including a breakdown of the recent WGA/AMPTP meeting and how it all fell apart. If you would like to support the Hollywood community who are enduring a financial hardship with no end in site thanks to the studio's refusal to negotiate, please donate to the Entertainment Community Fund. Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, & Josh pick a streamer they think “won the month” based on new shows airing/upcoming shows announced etc. Bill returned from his Parisian vacation with nothing but raves for Netflix thanks to their 5.2 million new subs this quarter, their well received series Quarterback & Heartstopper, and their upcoming One Piece live action remake. He also has some mixed feelings about Suits's recent success on the streamer. Meanwhile, Josh makes the case for Hulu after The Bear's second season takes a victory lap, they debut hit shows such as Justified: City of Primeval, What We Do In The Shadows, Futurama, and Reservation Dog, and they air the long awaited Bleach: One Thousand Years Blood War. Finally, Alex surprises by handing the victory to Peacock, thanks to debuting hit films like Super Mario Bros & Asteroid City, airing English Premier League Soccer & the Women's World Cup Spanish language telecast, gaining traction with their WWE content, and adding 2 million more subs. New Series Spotlight – Alex, Bill, & Josh review Paramount Plus's Special Ops: Lioness, Taylor Sheridan's newest star studded series, this time starring Zoe Saldana, Morgan Freedman & Nicole Kidman, in addition to Laysla De Oliviera, LaMonica Garrett, among others. The series follows Saldana's character as she grapples with the recent loss of an asset in the field. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/popbreaktv/message

Someone has been running around in a Green Arrow costume, attacking people. The members of Team Arrow are powerless to stop him if they want to maintain their secret identities. And, of course, Ricardo Diaz is coming back to town with an eye on payback and making sure Oliver pays for defeating him last season. https://www.cbr.com/arrow-season-7-trailer-heroes-in-prison/ Arrow Season 7: Shadowhunters' Katherine McNamara Joins Cast (Date: 21 Sept 2018) TVLine has learned exclusively that the actress is joining Arrow in a pivotal recurring role. According to sources, McNamara will appear during the first half of Season 7 as Maya, a scrappy street fighter and thief from Star City. The initial — and unofficial — casting notice for the character likened the character to “Buffy the Superhero Slayer.” https://tvline.com/2018/09/21/katherine-mcnamara-arrow-season-7-cast-maya/ Arrowverse Finds Its Lois Lane in Grimm Star (Date: 14 Sept 2018) The CW has cast Grimm star Elizabeth Tulloch to play the Daily Planet ace reporter in this December's three-show crossover between Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow. Previously, Tulloch played Juliette Silverton/Eve across all six seasons of Grimm. Her past credits also include Portlandia, The West Wing, The Artist, Parkland, Concussion and more. https://www.cbr.com/arrowverse-lois-lane-elizabeth-tulloch/ Arrowverse Casting Confirms Gotham City as Crossover Location (Date: 20 Sept 2018) Lost and Justified veteran Jeremy Davies will play Dr. John Deegan, a doctor at the notorious Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane, whose machinations draw Green Arrow, The Flash and Supergirl to Gotham. Although Gotham, the traditional stomping grounds of Batman, has been referenced on Arrow, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, this will be the first time it's actually shown on the Arrowverse dramas. Fans are still left to wonder whether this is the Gotham on Earth One, home of Green Arrow and The Flash, or Earth-38, inhabited by Supergirl. While the introduction in the crossover of Batwoman, played by Ruby Rose, led to speculation that Gotham might finally make its debut — the city is even referenced in the character description — this is the first confirmation. https://www.cbr.com/arrowverse-crossover-gotham-city/ Arrowverse Crossover Adds Cassandra Jean Amell as Nora Fries (Date: 14 Sept 2018) The CW has just cast Cassandra Jean Amell (yes, the wife of Arrow star Stephen) in the role of Nora Fries. If that name sounds familiar to you, it's because Nora is the wife of Victor Fries, also known as the Batman villain Mister Freeze. No details were provided as to whether Amell's version of the character will be alive and well or in cryostasis at the time of her introduction. The customary character description was not provided, either, leaving the nature of her role (and presumably her husband's) a mystery. https://comicbook.com/dc/2018/09/14/arrowverse-crossover-adds-cassandra-jean-amell-as-nora-fries/ Arrowverse Crossover Casts The Monitor, Hints Elseworlds Will Be a Crisis (Date: 26 Sept 2018) The CW announced Designated Survivor star LaMonica Garrett has been cast as Mar Novu, “an extraterrestrial being of infinite power known as the Monitor,” in the Arrowverse's upcoming Elseworlds crossover. In the comics, the Monitor was essential to Crisis on Infinite Earths. Created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez in 1982's The New Teen Titans #21, the character was established to set up the events of Crisis. He is billions of years old, born as the living embodiment of the universe's positive matter; as such, he is the natural enemy of the Anti-Monitor, a being of anti-matter. The highly-anticipated crossover will air over three nights, starting on Sunday, Dec. 9 through Tuesday, Dec. 11. https://www.cbr.com/arrowverse-elseworlds-monitor-crisis/ Stephen Amell's First Arrowverse Crossover BTS Photo Teases New Costume (Date: 14 Sept 2018) The big Arrowverse crossover can't get here soon enough, and a new behind the scenes photo from Stephen Amell reveals he might be getting a new costume for it. The new photo shows Amell in the makeup chair, but he is sporting some bright green gel on his chest, neck, and face. It seems he is getting fitted for a mold, so now the question is what the new mask and suit will look like. He posted it with the caption "Officially started work on the crossover today." https://comicbook.com/dc/2018/09/14/stephen-amell-arrowverse-crossover-bts-photo-costume/ GENERAL DC NEWS: Legends of Tomorrow Introduces More Misfits in New Trailer (Date: 26 Sept 2018) The trailer starts off with John Constantine (Matt Ryan) telling White Canary (Caity Lotz) to get ready for a new fight because “the darkness… it's rising,” which transitions into shots of what appear to be the Salem witch trials. The trailer then reveals that the team's composition will be changing. There's also fan-favorite Time Bureau Agent Gary Green (Adam Tsekhman) naked and claiming he's an “intern Legend,” a fairy godmother and a unicorn shooting a rainbow mist from its horn. https://www.cbr.com/legends-of-tomorrow-more-misfits-trailer/ Dominic Purcell Defends 'Legends of Tomorrow' as Not Being the Joke of the Arrowverse (Date: 22 Sept 2018) Purcell, who plays Mick Rory/Heatwave on the series which will debut its fourth season next month, took to Instagram on Saturday, sharing why he's proud to be part of Legends as well as why he's no longer accepting the show being treated like a "joke". "First season of @cw_legendsoftomorrow sucked," Purcell wrote. "We had to change it drastically. The writers, the creative team changed its course with a genius master stroke. Let's have fun with it!!!! ....Now we have a show that embraces the absurdity of the farce and the brilliant nature of its theme." "No longer will I accept this [slight] utterance that Legends is the in house joke that we are the ugly step sister in the @dccomics @warnerbrostv #arrowverse tv sh*t," Purcell wrote. "I know for a fact we are not seen as that within the corporate structure. So shut the f*ck up. We good. We handling our sh*t, we good. We family. We delivering." https://comicbook.com/dc/2018/09/23/legends-of-tomorrow-not-arrowverse-joke-dominic-purcell/ NEXT EPISODE Link to Promo: (Date: 26 March 2018) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sS4oNdZk9o0 Episode: “Guest Starring John Noble” [Season 3 Episode 17] Air Date: Monday, April 2, 2018 Summary: The Legends must fix two anachronisms at the same time to keep Mallus at bay and form an uneasy alliance with one of their enemies.
