Turns out there's other hobbies besides model railroading, who knew??... So here at the ole' World Headquarters in downtown Busted Knuckle, Kentucky have decided that for the second decade of “a ModelersLife” we're going to occasionally explore life outside this great hobby of ours. The hobby of wargaming has been growing in popularity over the last several decades, and we decided to strike up a conversation with someone that has an excellent website, a great YouTube channel, lots of tutorials and a personality that fits perfectly into the AML Nation. “Spikey Bits” a.k.a. Rob Baer was excited to talk to a couple of model railroaders and tell us all about his hobby of wargaming. So grab yourself a big bowl of shredded Blast Masters, a tall cool glass of air brush cleaner and enjoy!!

In a city like Ashland, OH, dubbed "The World Headquarters of Nice People," it's difficult to imagine anything bad happening. But in 2016, Detective Kim Mager was assigned to the case of Shawn Grate, a man who had just been arrested for kidnapping, raping, and torturing a young woman. During the interrogation, it was discovered Grate wasn't just a sex offender. He was a serial killer. Retired Detective with the Ashland Police Department Kim Mager reflects on her involvement in the case and unpacks her 33-hour-long interrogation of Grate, as detailed in her new book, A Hunger To Kill. Michael Chaturantabut (born April 30, 1975) is a Thai American actor, martial artist and stuntman, best known for his role as Chad Lee, the Blue Ranger in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. He was born in Rayong Province, Thailand. Extreme martial art Xtreme Martial Arts or XMA is a brand name owned by Chaturantabut. Chaturantabut's XMA is a combination of elements from martial arts, acrobatics and gymnastics, with an emphasis on showmanship. The concept of adding gymnastics-like tumbling moves to elements of traditional martial arts is otherwise known as "tricking (martial arts)". XMA makes these exhibition moves the focus of the sport. Open hand and weapons choreography are often accompanied by dramatic dance or programmatic music. The goal is to command the attention of the audience. Currently there are schools of martial arts or similar XMA styles based in the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, the World Headquarters being in North Hollywood, California. Many of the moves are high-flying aerial acrobatic maneuvers. These stunning movements attain the goal of capturing the crowd, improving physical agility, balance, strength, coordination, and endurance, as well as performing an artistic display of talent. He feels that there are many basic moves that can be specialized to be more acrobatic, flashy and artistic, so as to give the impression of complexity and difficulty for showmanship purposes. It is for this reason that he feels that even the basic athlete or beginner can learn the progression from basic moves to highly complex acrobatic sequences.

Texas Slim makes a spirited return to broadcasting with his brand-new series, "Yeehaw! Cowboy Talk." This series promises a mix of heartfelt, random musings with a healthy dose of sarcasm and that distinctive West Texas Dirt Road Twang. Slim plans to share tales of his adventures and insights, offering a glimpse into his life, his beginnings, and his clear vision for the future. As someone who's traveled extensively, covering 160k miles across three continents and circling the globe 1.5 times in less than three years, he brings a wealth of experience and stories, especially from his quest for global #BeefIntelligence.Slim is setting the stage for a modern-day, local and global cattle drive, calling on listeners to gear up for some "catastrophic winds" ahead. He hints at exciting, challenging times, urging his audience to embrace integrity and focus, drawing parallels between life's trials and the journey of a professional team roper learning the ropes. Highlighting the foundational spirit of the American Cowboy, Slim shares anecdotes of camaraderie and resilience, from East Texas's distinct accent to the humorous and sometimes perilous cowboy life, including his own air-lifting adventure across the southern Rockies.Announcing a grand vision for a "Worldwide #BeefIntelligence Kingdom Series" dubbed the new International Lifestyle, Slim intertwines his personal adventures with broader themes of market access, spirit, and freedom. He passionately speaks about combating what he sees as threats to children's innocence and the "Harvest of Deception," signaling a bold stance against undisclosed adversaries. With a nod to his roots and the "True Grit" instilled by his West Texas upbringing, Slim is poised to embark on a mission filled with purpose and determination. In addition to his storytelling, Slim plans to share "Slimisms" and his love for West Texas Red Dirt music, giving shoutouts to local talents like Randall King and their shared dirt road heritage.Stay tuned for "Yeehaw! Cowboy Talk" for a blend of tales, insights, and music from the heart of Texas, as told by Texas Slim himself.Transcript: Hey, I miss ya'll….I'm back~At least as far as doing that hippy-punk-cowboy kinda talkin….dang do I have some stories to share. This new series that I am calling “Yeehaw - Hippy-punk-cowboy talk” is going to be random, it's going to come from the heart, and it will have some sarcasm and a little West Texas Dirt Road Twang to it. I've been to a few places and I've done a few things throughout my lifetime and now it's time to give you some perspective of who this ole boy is, the vision I had in the beginning and the very clear vision I currently have. And we're all going to move forward together….time to step up and focus in on the true art of story tellin.I'll tell ya one thing, it's time to pull the trigger folks! A train wreck is coming but don't go frettin…we built out a new rail system and the rail transition is ready to go. We've tested and have the results to prove it.I'll be tellin' ya'll stories of my life, which started out by me looking up at the sky. I come from the “Llano Estacado,” the “Dessert High Plains” a place that is referred to as the “Caprock” and the land of the Comanches, “Comancheria”. THE Texas Panhandle! THE World Headquarters of the Beef Initiative and the I Am Texas Slim Foundation. And boy howdy has it been one hell of a ride. 160k miles driven, 3 continents explored, 1.5 trips around the globe all on the quest for the most fascinating journey and exploration of global #BeefIntelligence the the world has ever had….and all that done in less than 3 years….you should hear about the prior 40 before that…Oh, and btw it's just getting started so, let's all pay attention and get a new “Yeehaw” swagger that is ready to scream across the world. We are about to start the next local and global modern-day cattle drive and every one of you is a hired hand and it's time to pull yourselves up by your bootstraps and saddle up.We have got some catastrophic winds coming our way and I am going to do my best to communicate what I see and how the next two years are going to play out from my perspective. Since I just hired ya'll on, I'm going to tell you what your job is and what tasks you are going to have moving forward. If we do a good job I'll be throwing a big ole International Cattleman's Feast and it will be on me. I'll just ask that you start living with integrity, and with a new focus. It takes a little practice at first but you'll get the hang of it. Kinda like how ole Cole Bolton became a professional team roper. One miss at a time. He always saddles back up, he and his roping partner take a deep breath, and as a team, they go get the job done one calf at a time. Cole don't talk much about his skills, but he has many at his disposal.Folks, the Beef Initiative was started with a foundational spirit that is extremely rare and extremely sought after, it's the spirit of the great American Cowboy.See, I am punchy as hell, I'm from West Texas…Ole Cole, he's from East Texas, I think he talks funny.Anyways, back to the cowboy spirit I was referring to. There are so many cowboys that behave and talk funny in so many ways. Ole Jason Wrich, a stern talker he is!I can't wait to get back on the stage with Jason at the 2nd Colorado Beef Initiative Summit…His Colorado Cowboy slur kinda straightens your posture up for you. You need to come try it. He'll put your butt at attention!See cowboys do a lot of hard, difficult, funny, and stupid things. Did I ever tell you the time I got airlifted across the southern Rockies? Hell, come to find out I was in a chopper, not a Cessna. I could have swore I was a glidin, not choppin… that morphine was strong, I‘ll give it that much…To be clear. We're all tough as shit. Kinda overly hard-headed, soft at the right times but most of all we are the ones you want to be looking at and listening to. So, I am going to throw in some “Yippe-Ki Yay” and we are going to start a big ole production here.I'm going to use ya'll as my dress rehearsal to start broadcasting a Worldwide #BeefIntelligence Kingdom Series I call the new International L...

ON JUNE 1, 1981, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh boarded a Boeing 747 for a flight from Mumbai to New York City. Officially the trip was for medical treatment, and authorities were told he'd be heading back home to India afterward. But Rajneesh was not planning on returning. His movement, which had already become an international octopus with meditation centers in dozens of different countries around the world, had outgrown the Pune campus. He needed a new World Headquarters. And his new personal secretary, Ma Anand Sheela (formerly known as Sheela Patel Silverman), had found one for him. Sheela closed the deal for the property then known as the Big Muddy Ranch the following month, paying $5.75 million for it. It was 64,229 acres of Central Oregon rangeland with only the amenities one would expect a family ranch to have. And in late August, she chartered a Learjet to fly the guru in to see, for the first time, the dry landscape that was to be his new home. Today we have a really special episode recorded in Wetzlar,Germany at the World Headquarters for Leica Camera. Leica was kind enough to invite me out to their annual Celebration Of Photography event which welcomes photographers from around the world to a three day event to celebrate photography which culminates with the Leica Oskar Barnack award show which awards two photographers with a new Leica Camera and cash prize. While I was in Germany I was given the opportunity to interview Dr. Andreas Kaufmann who in 2004 invested in Leica Camera and remains the majority share holder through his investment firm ACM. Andreas currently serves as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Leica Camera AG and has been instrumental in growing the Leica brand into what is today. I was also given the opportunity to interview Stefan Daniel who is the executive vice president of technology and operations at Leica Camera. Stefan has been with Leica Camera for over 40 years having started as an apprentice at age 16 and is well known for being the product planner on the M7 camera. Yesterday I was given the opportunity to tour the Leica Camera factory and can say first hand that the skill and craftsmanship that goes into making a Leica Camera is second to none so getting the opportunity to speak with both Andreas and Stefan was a real honor! I hope you enjoy this episode and thanks so much to LeicaCameraUSA for having me out to Germany as it's an experience I'll never forget! www.leicacamerausa.com www.picdrop.com Use promo code "Banter" to get two months free

For the 300th episode of the AttractionPros Podcast, Matt and Josh flew to Orlando and recorded this special episode in the lobby of IAAPA's World Headquarters. But wait! Instead of interviewing an industry leader, the tables were turned as Scott Fais, Global Editorial Director for IAAPA, put Matt and Josh in the hot seats and interviewed them on their careers, the impact of AttractionPros on the industry and themselves, and a series of rapid-fire questions. We'd like to thank Scott for opening the doors to IAAPA headquarters and hosting this special episode! The impact of AttractionPros on the attractions industry “It's never a straight line from being a ride operator or a sweeper or scooping ice cream to being the CEO of a company.” –Matt One of the biggest impacts AttractionPros has made on the industry is that the podcast has opened people's eyes to various career paths. Throughout the hundreds of interviews we've conducted, it's clear that there is no one clear path from being a frontline employee to an executive leader. “We saw an opportunity to create something for attractions industry professionals to learn from the best in the business.” –Josh When we began the podcast in 2017, we identified a gap in educational content for those building a career in the industry. With plenty of content available for enthusiasts and travel planning, we set out to make an impact on attractions industry professionals (also known as AttractionPros) to learn from the best of the best across all areas of the attractions industry. How we look at the industry differently “Sometimes, when you think about people in those positions and you don't know them, it's easy to dehumanize them.” –Matt After 299 episodes, one of the biggest takeaways is that we're all human. Someone in an executive leadership role may come across as intimidating, and by conducting an interview that highlights their career path, their personal life, and mistakes they've made along the way, it shines a light on the person behind the title. “I feel that the industry is even smaller after talking to so many people.” –Josh It also makes the industry feel smaller. In addition to identifying mutual connections and connecting the dots from a networking standpoint, hearing similar challenges and guidance across attractions and facility types that you may not associate with each other, it shows that the industry is largely on the same page and singing the same song. Podcast guests who have made a large impact Every guest on the podcast has had an incredible story to share and an incredible message for the industry, making it difficult for Matt and Josh to each pick one! Nevertheless, Matt stated that when we interviewed Brian Knoebel, it was a last-minute scheduling based on a cancellation, meaning we had no questions prepared. Despite the lack of preparation, his father's birthday, and only a few days before opening the park for the season, Brian offered us his undivided attention and conducted an incredible interview. Josh cited John Wood, President and Chairman of Sally Dark Rides, and the way in which he shared how rides like Sally - and the experience in a theme park in general - create a lasting impact on people's lives that extends far beyond the duration of the ride or the visit to the park. We often lose sight of why people visit attractions of any kind because it gets lost in the day-to-day minutiae, and listening to John's view of the industry is a refreshing reminder. What has the podcast done for us “The podcast has given me another way to give back that I never would have thought of.” –Matt The podcast has deepened Matt and Josh's ability to network and make connections within the industry. An invitation to come on a podcast is not a sales pitch, making it more likely for an executive to say yes to offering their time. It also has been an excellent way to give back to the industry that we have gained so much from. “I feel like I am continually gaining an advanced degree in the industry.” –Josh Additionally, the amount of education and inspiration from the podcast makes it feels like one can gain an advanced degree in the attractions industry. With hundreds of interviews across so many topics, the audience can learn about executive leadership, operations, hospitality, marketing, safety, animal care, DEI, and nearly every topic that you can think of that touches the attractions industry. Scott also asked Matt and Josh about the impact that IAAPA has made on their career, the value of being an IAAPA show ambassador, how the AttractionPros Mentorship Internship came to be, common challenges that the industry is facing, advice for starting a podcast, and then a fast round of rapid-fire questions. To learn more about IAAPA, who graciously hosted us for this special recording, visit www.iaapa.org. To get in touch with us directly, contact attractionpros@gmail.com.

This morning, David Waldman slipped on his KITM mukluks, and disappeared into the hyperborean maelstrom bearing down upon our World Headquarters. You stay warm with this freshly baked, pre-recorded Friday show. Things are getting hotter for Donald Trump. The January 6 committee's final report contains transcripts of the insurrectionist rogue's gallery attempting to cling to the 5th amendment (and any other amendment handy) while garroting the Constitution. TFG is miffed but can't come up with any new lies at this point. FPOTUS is the villain, but he wouldn't have got away with so much with better intelligence and enforcement. Yep, it is time to reform the Electoral Count Act. Scum overflowing out of Mar-a-Lago is settling over Sarasota, Florida, home of many sad normal people. Freshman Republican George Santos is taking Christmas break off to get in touch with himself, whomever that might be, and tie the million loose threads of his biography together. Kevin McCarthy knows that whatever is eventually revealed about Santos, it can't be as bad as what people already know. Robert Zimmerman, Santos's Democratic opponent, tried to tell you. The Iowa city with 800 residents, and 3 police officers, with 90 machine guns, could probably defund their police a bit.

In April 2017, the Russian Federation banned Jehovah's Witnesses as an “extremist” organization. In the five years since that designation, law enforcement authorities across Russia have made it a regular practice to raid, detain, and arrest Jehovah's Witnesses on “extremism” charges directly related to their peaceful religious activities. According to statistics published by Jehovah's Witnesses, approximately 643 Witnesses have been charged with “organizing the activities of an extremist organization,” and nearly 350 individuals have been detained or arrested at some point in time. As of early October, 100 Witnesses are imprisoned in Russia for their beliefs.David Williams, Deputy Director of the Office of Public Information, and Jarrod Lopes, Senior Communications Officer, from the World Headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses in New York join us today to discuss the ongoing persecution of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia. Listen as Brittni Beeson, class of 2006, shares how a PCA Minimester trip turned into a 10-year journey as a missionary to Hungary. Brittni's episode is a huge encouragement and challenge to go on a mission trip, even if it's just a short-term trip, to share the love of Christ with those who have not heard the good news of Jesus Christ! Brittni's challenge - God loves you, no matter what path you've been on or even if you've strayed off the path, God desires to know you and for you to know Him better - now is the time to refocus your heart and mind on those important issues of life - who is God and who am I? If you'd like to financially support Brittni, visit her page on the CRU website. From Brittni's CRU page: I dream of a day when people from every nation are worshipping Jesus! Until that day comes, I want to live my life reaching the unreached with the gospel and mobilizing people to go. I joined staff with Cru in 2010 and served in Hungary for 10 years, casting vision to and mobilizing Hungarians to go the nations. In 2021, I felt God leading me to transition to into a new role at Cru's World Headquarters in Orlando, Florida. Currently, I am serving on the International Missions Team with Cru. I will focus on American high school students across the country, influencing them, casting vision, and sending them around the world. What a joy it is to be a part of mobilizing the next generation to reach the nations with the Good News! In this book, Jay and his colleagues outline the six principles they've used to decode work and unlock the maximum potential of their talent, and share success stories from other organizations that have embraced this approach.
