Over the past few years, Kim has emerged as a notable presence in the underground electronic music scene. Her performances at festivals such as Waking Life and La Nature, and her appearances at iconic parties like Giegling or at legendary C12 alongside XDB and Funke with Van Ahn, have undeniably made waves on this side of the globe. Kim's dedication to the art of music curation shines through in her sets, and we are excited to showcase her latest mix exclusive for the "Delayed with..." series. Kim skillfully blends chuggy, dubby beats with uplifting breaks and deep, immersive, dark rhythms in this mix. From the very beginning, you're welcomed with vibrant pads and the distinctive spoken word of Tom Redecker from Taras Bulba, who introduces the classic track "Die Wahrheit." This track selection envelopes you in an after-hour atmosphere filled with off-kilter vibes. As the mix progresses, the breakbeat elements flow in like the first rays of sun through a dancefloor's windows – you know that moment when sunglasses appear. Yet, beneath the surface, there's a lingering uncanny quality, preserving a delicate yin-yang balance that keeps you entranced. Closing the set with Boards of Canada's "Split Your Infinities" is a true cherry on the top. https://soundcloud.com/kimkenis https://www.instagram.com/kimkenis_/ www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_____delayed/ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed

XDB is Kosta Athanassiadis – German by birth and in residence, with Greek parentage. He started djing in the early 90s and still plays vinyl only. Over the years his music was released on labels like Dolly, Harbour City Sorrow and Sistrum. In 2006 he started the record label Metrolux. There's a refreshing lack of gimmickry to his approach – keeping it low-key allows him to be judged solely on the basis of talent. Enjoy!
It's Portal the Podcast Episode 40 and this month guest is XDB who released his debut album Inspiron on Dial two years ago. He recorded an amazing deep guest mix for us in the second hour. If you're into electronic music, chances are, you're a fan of Kosta Athanassiadis, commonly known as XDB. The veteran DJ and producer has been consistently putting out beautiful music and making dancers move and sway for a long time, with a career in music spanning thirty years. With releases, on Metrolux, his own label, as well as Sistrum Recordings, Dolly, and Echochord, one would be surprised to find out that it wasn't until 2020 that XDB put out a full-length LP when his genre-defying album “Inspiron” came out on Dial. But taking time to build up and do things properly seems to be Athanassiadis's M.O., in regards to both releases and DJ sets. And today's premiered track, a perfect slow-burner for warm-up sets, happens to be no different. XDB truly goes back to his deep roots in a groovy remix of “GR2", commencing with a hypnotic synth line right at the track's forefront, eventually taking a step back. Sharp high hats, synth stabs and snare drum rolls work together for the duration of the track to ensure that party attendees will be dancing. Athanassiadis's remix comes as part of the “Dark Path” EP, the first release on the Deep Series (a Diaphan Music sub-label) since 2014. The EP will be out on vinyl on March 2, 2022, and will be released digitally on February 28, 2022. write up by https://soundcloud.com/sabro96 https://soundcloud.com/xdb https://soundcloud.com/deepseriesberlin XDB on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kostaxdb/ XDB on FB: https://www.facebook.com/xdbmetrolux Deep Series on FB: https://www.facebook.com/deepseries/ www.itsdelayed.com www.instagram.com/_itsdelayed_ www.facebook.com/itsdelayed https://t.me/itsdelayed

@xdb is Kosta Athanassiadis – German by birth and in residence, with Greek parentage. His roots are in the central German town of Göttingen. It was here that he began DJing in the early nineties; where he worked in a record shop; where he ran a radio show for five years; and the base from which he established the Metrolux record label in 2006. For many people, it was at this point that XDB appeared on their radar. His debut ‘Jackintosh EP' and the following ‘Descap EP' made a splash with heads, but whilst the shimmering dub techno moments were perhaps the most obvious hook, subsequent tracks defied easy categorisation – an early indication that the person behind the music took a broad view of electronic music, caring not for stylistic pigeonholes. Further releases mapped out more of a defined aesthetic for the label, with XDB's own work sitting alongside contributions from Atheus and Arne Weinberg. By 2007, Kosta's music had caught the ear of other outlets; including Francois Kevorkian's Deep Space Media (a sublabel of Wave Music) licensed ‘Descap' and ‘Descap live' for re-release. @brendonmoeller was the A&R at that time and a 4 track EP on Wave Music followed in 2009. The same year, @p-scott put out the first XDB release on his own @sistrum-recordings, which saw Kosta tailoring his output to a cleaner, more Detroit-inflected sound. In tandem with his production work, XDB the DJ was coming into his own. An avid collector of vinyl since his childhood (Kosta's collection presently numbers some 10,000 records); he had honed his craft in clubs and on the radio – mixing monthly on his own ‘Case Check' show. 2008 brought an early highlight – spinning at Japan's lauded Labyrinth festival alongside the cream of the international deep techno and house scene. Kosta's DJ sets draw upon his expansive record collection, playing right across the board of electronic music. He has no shortage of technical skill but it's his selection that truly shines – putting the music itself at the forefront, letting songs breathe when need be, and delivering plenty of head-scratching ‘what the hell is this track?' moments. It's on this that Kosta has built his reputation. Tastemakers such as the now-defunct mnml ssgs crew were quick to snap him up for a guest mix in 2009, and several of his online recordings have been picked up for @resident-advisor ‘Mix of the Day' spot. In 2010, XDB played at the UK's highly-regarded Freerotation festival – starting a love affair with the event that's seen him come back every year since. The festival secured Kosta's place within a fraternity of fellow musicians and DJs who also prefer to let their music do the talking – likeminds who recognise the purity in what they do, and are all the more respected because of it. That same year, he remixed Detroit heroes Norm Talley - @ormalley and Aaron Carl - @aaroncarl and in 2011 produced releases for the Dolly, Harbour City Sorrow and Echocord imprints. 2012's highlight was a split 12” with Kassem Mosse and in 2013 he was reunited with Sistrum Recordings for the ‘Frocks' record. 2013 also saw the rebirth of Metrolux after a 3 year hiatus, with ‘Edition 2', an excellent Various Artists release. When it comes to producing, Kosta favours a slow and steady work rate, opting to focus on quality control rather than record shop ubiquity. His DJing keeps him in the public eye, but one gets the sense that XDB prefers to operate in the shadows. There's a refreshing lack of gimmickry to his approach – keeping it low-key allows him to be judged solely on the basis of talent. Arguably, it's an innate quality – the way he wants to play it; the way that brings him most satisfaction, but it's helped establish his reputation as an artist of considerable merit, winning the approval his audience and peers, alike. Stay Rave with #R13!
Chubby! on Facebook: www.facebook.com/chubbyrecords @xdb Kosta Athanassiadis, known professionally as XDB, has grown a well-respected career through a slew of fantastic releases on well admired labels for the past 15 years. Of Greek descent but born and raised in Germany, Kosta has the background and experience to be a trusted figure whether making music or chosing music as a dj. Having worked in record stores and radio while fine tuning his djing skills thru the 1990s, a new creative seed grew - Kosta started to make his own productions. This led to starting up his own label named Metrolux in 2006 where his music was featured front and center. Quality over quantity was a must for the output of the label and his own release schedule. His debut ‘Jackintosh EP’ and the following ‘Descap EP’ made quite the impression for those that heard them. From there, he's been popping up on some of the most praised labels in electronic music such as Sistrum, Harbour City Sorrow, Echocord, Ferox as well as Francois Kevorkian's legendary Wave Music label. His music has been described as post-Detroit but firmly european made and devoid of any one genre. A cornicopia of influences that help Kosta's music stand out in a very competitive field. As a remixer, his credits list is long and impressive. This demand from his peers is perhaps the best example that validates his talent. 2020 was a landmark year for Kosta which saw his first full length album that led to rave reviews worldwide. Personality wise, Kosta is low-key letting his music do the talking. His integrity never in doubt and love for electronic music is clear. Keeping his ear to the ground while enjoying his vast vinyl collection. For listeners, it is a true treat hearing Kosta elect tracks for the occasion when he is the dj. Technically and creatively, one of the best whose name is constantly in demand for sets and new music. Whether making new music, remixing or djing, Kosta Athanassiadiska aka XDB is one to follow.

Hello Decisive music lovers & Everyone around the globe. Welcome to the Decisive Podcast Series Special, I am sure your getting ready for the holiday season so please except this episode as a gift because I have on the program Mr. Alex Downey with for an interview. We will get a little insight about the life, the music and what it all means to him in his own words and of course listen to his dj mix recorded at a live gig at AudioFarm Festival. Alex Downey has been an ardent supporter of quality underground music and a prominent purveyor of all things electronic as a DJ, vinyl pusher, and radio presenter for well over two decades. Alex was a key figure behind the counter at Brighton's legendary Covert Records and has amassed an immense record collection spanning the house, techno and electro spectrum, while his unrestricted sets behind the decks have earned him much respect and a great reputation amongst the global electronic community. Alex has been a resident at the celebrated Freerotation Festival from it’s inception, and is currently a resident DJ at Brighton’s ‘First Floor’ party, playing alongside the likes of Function and XDB. He’s DJed at such diverse events as Wiggle, Split, Fabric, Berghain Saule, Concrete, Labyrinth Festival in Japan, The Big-Beat Boutique, Field Maneuvers Festival and continues to play the best parties. But just as important to his career arc are the hundreds of smaller parties and long-forgotten club nights that rocked hard and kept the lifeblood of the scene pumping. Alex's style behind the turntables defies categorisation. For him techno isn't a dogma so much as a spirit of electronic freedom to adapt and embrace new styles. He is highly rated by DJs and is regarded as a keeper of the flame. So lets get to it. Note: The Mix Will Be Posted On Soundcloud on Friday Without The Interview. Hello Everyone Its November 22, 2017, Thanks for being here and I hope that you will continue to return as we delight all you music lovers with another cool Decisive Podcast. My Special Guest XDB is a guy who I find to be a nice, funny, talented dj and independent artist more on, for many years he continues to be relevant to his fans. This vinyl junkie to this day still lugs to every gig a bag or two of records rather than the growing popularity of the usb stick. Germany's XDB has been DJing since the early 90s, and his creative growth enhances this decisions of what labels and musicians he chooses to collaborate with. After years of working in a record shop, he launched his Metrolux Music label in 2006. He sees his music heading in a direction that ranges from deep and soulful house to raw, analogue sounding dub techno. XDB is garnering the overdue attention of popular writers and fellow musicians with releases and remixes for Aaron Carl (rip), Norm Talley and Patrice Scott on quality labels like Francois K's Wave Music, Echochord, AIM, Dolly and Patrice Scott´s Sistrum to name a few. Infos: Facebook - www.facebook.com/xdbmetrolux Facebook - www.facebook.com/kosta.athanassiadis Discogs - www.discogs.com/search/?q=xdb+&type=all After numerous invitation requests, its my pleasure to welcome Germany`s very own XDB to the Decisive Podcast Series Family. Enjoy, and thanks for patronage, Roberto Ingram

For the 54th Avenue Red Podcast we welcome a truly talented, hard-working and well-respected veteran of the underground music scene - Andrew Duke from Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada. Andrew is a music collector, DJ, artist, remixer, sound designer, radio/mix show host and has also been writing about music since 1981. Andrew Duke In The Mix is his mixshow, which began way back in 1987 during the emergence of true House & Techno initially as a weekly radio show on CKDU 88.1FM Halifax NS Canada and ran through until 2004. He has continued the show independently since then to this very day on various platforms. As a producer, Andrew had a very nice record out on Own Jay's Batti Batti imprint, which comes with a remix from XDB. Well worth tracking down a copy! In this explosive mix of raw 80's Electro/Freestyle/Hip-House, Andrew has made 7 edits especially for this smoking hot mix for Avenue Red. Get involved and make sure to Like/Share if you're digging it ;) "A mix of some of my favourite freestyle and early electro cuts, including some edits I did personally for this mix. Dedicated to the memory of the late great New York editing genius, Bad Boy Jose "Chep" Nunez (born 1964, died 8th December 1990)." The 46th Avenue Red Podcast installment comes from Luger (real name Dorin Croitoru) from Bucharest, the sprawling capital city of Romania. Luger is a friend and musical peer of Profet, the man behind that awesome 17th installment in our series (https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/podcast-017-profet). Through their events platform Chameleon and various other happenings at Bucharest’s Control Club, Luger and Profet have played alongside some incredible global acts, as Luger states himself: “We are working on bringing artists that we respect and are close to the directions we feel we must take in regards with our visions of quality music. Our last guest was XDB and in the past we brought over Marcellus Pittman, Hakim Murphy, John Heckle and Paul du Lac to mention a handful. I'm a regular at Control either with local players and movers on the scene or in supporting acts for control guest DJ’s such as Even Tuell, Ulf Eriksson, Legowelt, Gunnar Haslam, DJ TLR and so on”. This mix is an incredibly smooth and dynamic mixture of eerie, trippy ambient soundscapes; curiously introspective moments; hypnotic minimal tracks and also some beautifully crafted melodic tracks too… it’s something that you can really lose yourself in and then re-find yourself an hour later after the silence has begun. “The first thing that comes to mind about how this mix came out is balance. A podcast is a great opportunity to stop researching music outside of the box and concentrate on what is already inside the collection. The process of finding pieces of a jigsaw that fit perfectly and crafting a spot, a shape or a space for something else or around something is one of the best ways of getting a deeper knowledge and understanding of the music that lured you in. The way you map it all out is where the DJ shows their true creative edge.” Dorin Croitoru, August 2015 https://soundcloud.com/luger https://soundcloud.com/chameleonparties ===== Full tracklist for this mix coming soon, but do feel free to ask for track ID's in the comments in the meantime.
Xander Demos is a high-energy rock and metal guitar player from Pittsburgh, PA. He is fueled by the passion to create melodic songs ranging from rock and metal genres to pop and ambient. Xander normally is associated with the rock and metal world but his versatility allows him to be comfortable in many forms of music.Xander grew up in the decade of decadance and has been a big fan of everything from pop-metal, Top-40, thrash metal, progressive rock and even dance-related music. As long as there was a hook or a melody, he picked up on it. Xander's main influences are Shawn Lane, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Vinnie Moore, Guthrie Govan, Jason Becker, Neal Schon, Micheal Romeo and John Sykes. In the early days, he was fortunate to have some teachers whom he respected and had given him great tools by which to hone his fluid technique. Some of these players include Ralph Santolla (ex-Deicide, Obituary), Dallas Perkins (M.I. Instructor) and currently Derryl Gabel.Xander's playing style ranges from the beautifully melodic to the jaw-dropping insane. His playing encompasses much of what he has learned and absorbed from other players over the years. His melodies are the kind you can hum along to. He is releasing the full-length follow-up to his EP "Road To Guitarcadia", an instructional DVD, working with his three bands playing live every weekend and is now accepting guitar students for in-person and online lessons.Xander Demos Band:The Xander Demos Band (XDB) has been active since early 2011 and contains four virtuosos backing up Xander and all of his guitar pyrotechnics. They have had a great 2 years playing shows with Neil Zaza, UFO, The Dio Deciples, Uli Jon Roth, Buckethead, Lizzy Borden, Adrenaline Mob, Symphony X, Helstar and Kip Winger. The very talented Matt Williams (bass) and Chris Batton (drums) did an outstanding job on the recording of Guitarcadia as well as playing live until the reformation of the band in 2012. The latest version of XDB features Jeff Anzelone on drums, Adam Heuesy on keyboards, Ben Chiarini on bass and Mario Brescia on Lead Vocals. In 2013, the band is out supporting the Guitarcadia since signing with Rock N Growl records in Germany late last summer. The new album titled Dancing Through Daggers will be released towards the end of 2013. CJ Snare of Firehouse is back on board to mix and master the new album as he did with GuitarcadiaSabbath Judas Sabbath:Xander has joined forces with Houston native and thrash-metal vocalist James Rivera (Helstar, Malice, Seven Witches, Vicious Rumors) on a new East Coast chapter of his Sabbath Judas Sabbath project. This band is a national tribute band with chapters in Europe and in various locations across the United States. The East Coast chapter has Xander sharing lead guitar duties with fellow Pittsburgh natives Bill Staley (formerly of Creature of Habit), Greg Bittner (also formerly of Creature of Habit) on bass and fellow XDB bandmate Jeff Anzelone on drums.More information on Sabbath Judas Sabbath can be found at www.myspace.com/sjsofficial.
We're excited to be celebrating our 100th podcast today, with the one and only Magda Bytnerowicz! Magda is, without a doubt, one of Sydney's finest DJs. She runs an extremely successful event series, 4our (pronounced "four") alongside musical partner Trinity, which showcases local and international talent in intimate warehouse spaces. Over the past couple of years 4our have delivered the likes of Steffi, Eric Cloutier, Eli Verveine, XDB & Mareena, to Sydney-siders. The quote from Magda's official bio reads: "Expect a diverse selection of old house and new techno (and vice versa) as well as a smattering of disco in her DJ sets, keeping you locked to the dance floor".... and she has not let us down with this mix. Magda kicks things off with some beautiful deep house sounds, including one of our all time favourite OB Ignitt tracks. The mix slowly builds without notice, until you find yourself on a virtual dancefloor appreciating the subtle acid and techno flavours. Before she's done though, Magda closes out with with some disco, as piano keys and guitar licks sweep over you like a rush of emotion. A true musical journey, in every sense of the word. We urge you to stick your headphones on and find a quiet space in a darkened room to appreciate Magda Bytnerowicz... Full tracklisting can be found on SoundCloud: http://bit.ly/100-Magda-Bytnerowicz

XDB has a reputation for being a historian of electronic music. With his extensive catalog of vinyl he is able to express harmonized, almost pictorial themes in his mixes. Almost similar to an abstract painter who uses paint dabbles and brushstrokes to create rhythms and structures. The 24th FIBER podcast by XDB expresses his versatility … Read More
