In this episode of the Black Magic Woman Podcast, I yarn with two deadly young changemakers, Brianne Yarran and Jeremy Last, who are part of the Culture Is Life Fullaship Program. Brianne, a proud Noongar woman from Ballardong, Whadjuk, and Wagyl Kaip Country, and Jeremy, a proud Wangkangurru, Yankunytjatjara, and APY Lands man currently living on Kaurna Country, share their journeys through the Fullaship experience. We talk about how the Fullaship supports young mob through leadership development, cultural connection, and personal growth—all without financial barriers. Bri and Jeremy reflect on the opportunities they've had to visit different First Nations communities, learn from respected Elders like Aunty Steph and Uncle Kenny Bedford, and gain tools to strengthen their mental health with support from Abstar Consulting. This conversation is filled with wisdom and practical insight—not just for young mob, but also for organisations and allies wanting to back First Nations excellence in meaningful ways. ✨ Learn more about the Culture Is Life Fullaship Program:https://cultureislife.org/fullaship/ Website: www.blackmagicwoman.com.au Follow us on Instagram - @blackmagicwomanpodcast The Black Magic Woman Podcast is hosted by Mundanara Bayles and is an uplifting conversational style program featuring mainly Aboriginal guests and explores issues of importance to Aboriginal people and communities. On 15 October 2023 we will mark the 70th anniversary of the first mainland British nuclear test in Australia, at Emu Field in South Australia, on the country of the Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara peoples. This week, parliamentarians have the opportunity to hear from Yankunytjatjara, Antikarinya, and Pitjantjatjara woman and nuclear test survivor, June Lennon, who was four months old, in October 1953, when the Totem 1 nuclear bomb was detonated at Emu Field. We should never forget that Ms Lennon's family and First Nations people were treated abysmally in this matter – given no proper warning or protection, let alone consultation and prior informed consent in relation to the profoundly harmful and toxic use of their country. There is no disputing the fact that the British and Australian governments were utterly carless in their consideration of Aboriginal people. Through these secret nuclear weapons test, which were not sanctioned by an Australian cabinet or parliamentary process, Aboriginal people experienced dispossession and displacement, and their sacred lands were irrevocably poisoned. The truth about the tests and their impact was covered up, and the severe injustice went unrecognised and unaddressed for decades. Indeed, it is not well understood or acknowledged in Australia today. From: ICAN Australia media release Jun 15 2023

Isira is an awakened spiritual teacher of Australian Indigenous heritage, bringing the idea of holistic awakening to people around the world. Awakening people not only to themselves but to a remembering of sacred living in connection with country. Touched with more than a smidgen of confusion as a child, asking herself - " did I take a wrong turning?" she questioned her own sanity more than once as no one around her saw the world as she did. She was constantly in a space of questioning; what was this dissonance disjointed, misplaced odd one out feelings she had as a child. Learning how intensely connected she was in Spirit became a both a blessing and a curse. TRAUMA ALERT: Leaving home at 15, homeless and taken in by strangers, brought to life a recurring dream / nightmare where her life was left hanging by a divine thread. Isira is a Woman for all times, most especially these times. There is wisdom upon wisdom upon wisdom in the sharing of Isira's awakenings entwined with heart cracking open truths! Describing life as a multi layered kaleidoscope, Isira speaks of an overlap of 2 piercing paradigms whereby suffering is directly linked to awakening. At some point we seek a way out of the suffering, look for ways to awaken. We felt DEEPLY humbled and honoured to sit with Isira in every moment of this episode. With a sense of sitting with an Ascended Master - one that Isira was quick to deflect and point out her human be-ing - ness. With great clarity, calling the BS of seeking to be enlightened, transcended. Her spiritual connection to country and this embodiment we are all here to experience, calls us to celebrate and revel in our humanness, the joy of living life authentically, able to embrace fully being the individual - sensual and experience to bliss of receiving and giving. Known in indigenous culture as Aunty Jinta Mirren Ngingali and is an elder of Mirning, Adhnyahmathana heritage with kin ties to Pitjantjajara and Yankunytjatjara country, and has mixed heritage of Scottish, Welsh and Spanish background. Isira has delivered programs and talks internationally for more than 30 years. She is a powerful advocate for conscious change and is highly engaged in the issues of our times. Ordained by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Isira integrates the wisdom teachings from Eastern spiritual traditions, her Australian indigenous heritage, and the profound transformative experiences of her own life. “I am Universal. I am not of one religion, one lineage, one race or one country. My lineage is consciousness. My religion is love. And the world is my sacred home.” ~ Isira Sit down with feet on the soil, embrace this journey with Isira as we share in the revelations of a most divine Soul exploring her embodied knowing of purpose - I am that, I am love, all knowing, all loving. From Italy to the remote Central Desert in Australia. Thought Leader and International Human Rights academic Dr. Francesca Panzironi created an international platform to document and support the practice of the 60,000 year old Aboriginal traditional healing knowledge system. Traditional Australian Aboriginal healers are working alongside doctors and nurses for the first time in Australia. Dr Panzironi is the founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer of ANTAC, Aṉangu Ngangkaṟi Tjutaku Aboriginal Corporation. She applied her knowledge and experience, to promote the recognition of the internationally recognised right of Indigenous Peoples to maintain and practice their traditional medicines within Australia' s national health care system. Dr Panzironi traveled across South Australia for over four years (2008-2012) collecting evidence of the current status of Aboriginal Traditional Medicine in community and clinical settings. The findings of her research are published in Hand-in-Hand. Report on Aboriginal Traditional Medicine. This is her story and this is her passion. Who are the Ngangkari?
