Nearly one third of all jobs are poised to be fundamentally transformed by generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), according to a new study by global strategic consultancy Sia Partners. The study reveals that more than 80% of tasks in these roles are primed for automation, driven by the rapid expansion of Large Language Models (LLMs) and GenAI technologies, signalling a major shift in how work will be performed. The study, titled AI OrgReview: Assessment of the Potential Impact of Generative AI on the Workforce, analysed a range of jobs across sectors like hospitality, healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, legal, education, finance and the creative industries. It found that roles particularly in tax, web administration, IT and digital design are highly exposed to the impact of GenAI. The study highlights the potential of GenAI to both enhance productivity and transform job roles across various sectors, while at the same time reshaping the workforce and our understanding of work itself. Varied Impact The study utilised Sia Partners newly developed AI OrgReview tool to analyse 50 occupations, scanning 1,000 work-related tasks or activities. The model's accuracy was validated by the company's GenAI experts and found to be over 90% accurate. The findings revealed widespread impacts of GenAI across all the reviewed occupations, with 41% to 46% of work tasks being susceptible to GenAI influence. However, the level of impact varied: while 80% of roles were affected to some extent, 28% are expected to experience more significant disruption. Lawrence Vesey, Partner for Ireland & UK at Sia Partners said: "The findings point to the remarkable opportunities AI can offer in terms of productivity enhanced efficiency. As pioneers in this space, Sia Partners is at the forefront of helping organisations integrate these technologies in a way that prioritises people and strategy. "We're committed to delivering innovative solutions that will guide leaders through this technological evolution with optimism and clarity. This will support organisations to manage change arising, and take care of wider stakeholder concerns in a fair and ethical way." Co-author of the study, Christian Howieson, Engagement Manager for Ireland and the UK at Sia Partners, said: "The study highlights the significant efficiency improvements and edge that early adopters of GenAI can attain. However, organisational planning and design methods need to evolve to ensure these technologies are implemented thoughtfully, with a necessary focus on people." Andrei Pascanean, co-author of the study and Senior Consultant Data Science at Sia Partners, said: "The key insights of this study highlight the transformative potential of GenAI, demonstrating the benefits it offers and the challenges it poses, while emphasising the need for strategic planning and thoughtful implementation." AI OrgReview, developed by Sia Partners, enables organisations to quickly assess the potential impact of GenAI technologies, such as LLMs and Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPTs), on their workforce. It combines a model built within SiaGPT's technology suite with a consulting framework that helps organisations navigate the complexities of GenAI integration using their own data. Today, I'll be chatting with Vanita Jassal and Kevin McAnena. This was the first ever live episode of Irish in Toronto and I would like to thank Daniel Patton for making it happen. Daniel is the Development and Engagement Manager for North America for Queen's University Belfast. This event was about allowing members of the Queen's alumni to share their stories of what brought them to Toronto. In this episode, you will hear from Dr. Vanita Jassal who has been in Toronto for around thirty years. She shares her story of growing up as a visible minority in Belfast during the Troubles. Her success in Toronto has been remarkable and she shares how this was achieved, as well as the more honest negative experiences she has had. Kevin McAnena, from Co. Tyrone, has been living in Toronto for close to a decade now. He shares the curiosity that led him here and how he has managed to maintain strong links with Ireland. I would still encourage people to download the episodes and to share them with friends and family. Downloads are the easiest indicator for me to gauge how many people I am reaching with these conversations so I would really appreciate it.
A McKinsey consultant turned into a cheesemaker, Ilay is out to make labneh a thing as the co-founder and CEO of BEZI. She began her career as a financial services consultant at McKinsey and was sponsored by the firm to pursue her MBA at Columbia Business School in New York. During her time at Columbia, Ilay fell in love with the city, built her community through dinner parties at her home, known as Cafe Ilay, and completed her "business school summer internship" at a Mediterranean farm, milking cows and sheep, and learning to make cheese from scratch. Despite her passion, Ilay unfortunately lacked the courage to launch her own cheese company at the time and returned to McKinsey's New York office to become an Engagement Manager. After her promotion, Ilay left McKinsey to help launch Getir's (the parent company of FreshDirect) US operations, where she spent 2.5 years overseeing merchandising, commercial, and marketing departments. It was during this period that she met her co-founder, Hasan, the heir to one of Turkey's largest cheesemaking families. After working together for a year and hitting it off, Ilay and Hasan decided to make labneh a thing by creating BEZI and launching it first in their beloved New York after 1 year of working behind the scenes. Eric Kaiser is the Industry Engagement Manager for TruTech Tools, which means that he is the conduit between the HVAC and home performance testing and commissioning industry keeping the pulse of their needs. As a former HVAC contractor Eric has learned the importance of commissioning and testing and its role in informing technicians about the performance of the products they are installing. Once again it goes back to is it there and does it work as it was installed. Eric has also become an educator and is committed to helping his clients understand building science, HVAC sizing, and performance-based data analysis. It was fun to learn the circuitous route Eric took to get to where he is today and to see the great work, he is doing to ensure that beyond the state-of-the-art tools TruTech is bringing to the industry, his clients know how, when, and where to use them to bring data to performance. Synthesis, a process that may sound complex, is actually quite common in our daily lives. From the production of everyday items like Advil, organic milk, citric acid, to the creation of vitamins A and D, and multivitamins, synthesis is a key player. Why does this realization often provoke a negative reaction? Ihr seid bei "On the Way to New Work" – heute mit Marco Peters.

She sees herself as a storyteller that gets to bridge the gap between academia and the general public through the stories and collection of the museum which stands as the last remaining bastion of Old St Thomas' Hospital in its original location near London Bridge. In her spare time she is also a creative photographer and freelance writer for National Geographic: Historia. July 8, 1843. Amidst the rolling hills of rural Massachusetts, a group of Transcendentalists come together to form a collective built around self-perfection and reverence for nature. And on this day poet Ralph Waldo Emerson stops by for a visit. Their name for this experimental Eden? Fruitlands. But every Eden has its fall, and by the time autumn winds blow over their 90 acres, the Fruitlanders are in trouble. How did a group of thinkers, writers, and educators come together to form one of the most famous utopian failures of the 19th century? And what can we learn from their attempt?Special thanks to our guests, Richard Francis, author of Fruitlands: The Alcott Family and Their Search for Utopia. And Catherine Shortliffe, Engagement Manager of the Fruitlands Museum and the Old Manse at The Trustees. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
