Ryan Lindley, Ray Rauth, and Producer Mike gathered again for another edition of Around The Horn on Crier Media. They guys were proud to host Douglas Connors from The True North Eager Beaver for this special episode. The guys kicked off the show discussing people going on shows like Dr.Phil to air dirty laundry, and despite knowing the reputations of shows, somebody is always shocked. Online clout chasing is nothing new, the content is just getting more intense. For example, people pretending to be homeless after coming out to their family, only for them to admit it was all an act. - Canadian sports federation and coaches continue to be shady AF - What's the best thing to do on your day off? - If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be? Mach 18, 2023: Around The Horn Podcast on Crier Media brings you its spinoff ATH Sports with Ray Rauth. Ray reviews all the stories he worked on during the week for Crier Media: Earlier this week a video of Mercyhurst University hockey player and son of Philadelphia Flyers general manager Daniel Briere; Carson Briere was seen pushing a wheelchair down a flight of stairs. Mercyhurst released a statement on the incident, and I asked Twitter what they thought of the response. The answer; people thought it was pathetic. | Last season, casual baseball fans were introduced to New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz, after his entrance went viral across social media. A video of Diaz went viral Wednesday night for all the wrong reasons. In a win-or-go -home game, Edwin Diaz closed out a 5-2 win over the Dominican Republic, sending Puerto Rico to the next round of the World Baseball Classic. Unfortunately, for Diaz, Puerto Rico, and the Mets, Diaz was injured while celebrating the win with his teammates. | Between Wednesday and Thursday I asked Twitter users to vote on the worst fanbase in the AFC East, with 50% of the vote going to Patriots fans. Bills Mafia came in second with 33% of the votes. | Day one of our worst fans in the NFL had the Patriots voted the worst in the AFC East with 49.5% of the votes. Day two of our polls wrapped up Thursday night and Dallas Cowboys fans secured 51% of the votes, officially making them the worst fans in the NFC East. | Day three of our polls has wrapped up and the Cleveland Browns join the New England Patriots as the worst fans in the AFC. | The more the Bills Mafia tastes their version of success, the more sensitive the “hard as nails” table jumpers become. If Bills Mafia is a culture, it's a culture of cry babies that celebrates being the AFC East Champions (The only championship you celebrate is a Super Bowl) Friday, a former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley said what every football fan on the planet knows, and the Bills Mafia lost its mind. Toronto FC are riding a four game unbeaten streak and have a huge game against eight place New England Revolution on Wednesday. The Toronto Blue Jays fans stopped treating their current team as future World Series Champions and are now acting like the Blue Jays aren't a playoff team. The Cleveland Browns players are ready to be a hated team across the NFL, especially with Deshaun Watson at quarterback. The Browns players for all the wrong reasons are accepting the hate, and they're taking an “us against the world” attitude. The Blue Jays know their season is getting shorter. Media members that have covered the New England Patriots over the last two decades know that Bill Belichick isn't ever going to give you anything. Andrew Callahan sent out a hilarious exchange today, when Belichick responded to a question about the Patriots offense, and Belichick said he didn't know if New England was going to run a different offense in 2022. https://twitter.com/_andrewcallahan/status/1534198766311555072?s=21&t=kvLe_d7bgMUP9beH5ZzzGg The Patriots have been running the same offense since Tom Brady made his first NFL start in 2001. After drafting Mac Jones with the 15th overall pick, it was a clear indication that New England's offense was staying the same. What's funny about this exchange is, the media asked a question they knew they wouldn't get, and Belichick's “I don't know”, was Belichick just making sure everyone knew what he thought of the question. Minicamp started Tuesday, and if this is an indication of how things will work with the media, good luck. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Could the New England Patriots use Kendrick Bourne like the San Francisco 49ers use Deebo Samuel? Is it fair to rank Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs as the fifth best wide receiver in the NFL? Tom Brady showed up to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers second phase of OTA's, proving that he's a total hypocrite… You'll get all that and more on the latest edition of the Dear Pats Nation podcast with Ray Rauth. For weeks' Producer Mike has been trying to make the Kendrick Bourne and Deebo Samuel comparisons, and Ray just wasn't letting it fly. However, PFF NE Patriots put out a tweet today that forced Mike, Ray, and Mario from Hashtag Sports to explore the possibility further. https://twitter.com/pff_patriots/status/1524464358016782336?s=21&t=3BtkdTr5kyigNKD6CXGbFQ Mike lays out his argument and draws the comparisons between both receivers, while Mario believes makes his argument that Bourne is a real receiver, and Samuel should be considered a running back. After digressing into a conversation surrounding the Miami Dolphins, and how head coach Mike McDaniel said he wanted to use Tyreek Hill like Samuel, the boys continued the wide receiver conversation, after Ray shared a tweet from PFF, that stated Bills' WR Stefon Diggs had the fifth highest rating across the NFL. https://twitter.com/pff/status/1524396431427227649?s=21&t=3BtkdTr5kyigNKD6CXGbFQ Mario agreed with Diggs ranking, and took into consideration the situation that the other receivers were in last season. Mike, on the other hand, believes that Diggs is in the best situation heading into this season, and that he'll be the best WR in the NFL. Ray believes that Devante Adams is the best receiver in the NFL until he proves he isn't. What surprised Mario and Mike was, Ray ranked A.J. Brown second overall, strictly because Brown put up the type of performances he has with Ryan Tannehill at quarterback. Diggs came in at a very respectable third place on Rays list. Lastly, Ray, Mike, and Mario gave their opinions on Tom Brady participating in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers phase two of voluntary workouts. All three panelists pointed out that Brady stopped showing up to Patriots workouts during his last few seasons in New England, while also being very vocal that veteran players should skip voluntary OTA's. The unanimous opinion is, Tom Brady showing up to voluntary workouts is extremely hypocritical. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Dallas Cowboys had some big decisions to make this offseason, and the move that was not surprising, but still hit like a shocker, was when Dallas elected to move on from star wide receiver Amari Cooper, and swung a trade with the Cleveland Browns. With Cooper gone, that is going to give even more opportunity for CeeDee Lamb to contribute even more to the Cowboys offense, because of this, Lamb should be high on every fantasy owners big board. On this episode of the Dear Pats Nation podcast with Ray Rauth, Producer Mike and I take a look at some of fantasy football options, NFL betting, and just some straight up NFL analysis. We promise you this isn't a typical fantasy show, it's not a typical football show, this has something for every football fan out there. At some point during a fantasy draft, owners have to take a tight end. Last week I covered when to draft a tight end, and highlighted that no tight end should be taken in the first round, and only two tight ends should be taken in the second round. One of those tight ends is Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce. Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, he's also one of the highest paid. Because the Green Bay Packers gave Rodgers a gigantic pay raise, Rodgers' favourite wide receiver Davante Adams was a cap casualty, and after being Franchise Tagged, Adams was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. Despite one of the best wide receivers leaving, the Packers are still a top five favourite to win the Super Bowl. Nobody wants to play for Bill Belichick. The only reason people ever wanted to join the New England Patriots was because of Tom Brady… That's the narrative, it's also not true. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Cincinnati Bengals were Super Bowl runner ups, and quarterback Joe Burrow, and wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase get the majority of the attention. But the Bengals have a really good running back, and despite all the fire power Burrow has at the receiver position, Joe Mixon should be heavily involved in the Bengals game plan. Today we'll be looking at Joe Mixon's fantasy value. Despite having a losing record and not making the playoffs, the Detroit Lions showed a lot of fight, and a roster that could possibly surprise a lot of people. If you wanted to lay a bet on the Lions making the postseason you'd get +450, and that may be a long shot worth betting. New England Patriots defacto general Manager Bill Belichick made a big splash last year during free agency and signed a lot of big name talent like Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry, and Matthew Judon. One of the more underrated signings Belichick made was signing former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Kendrick Bourne. According to PFF, Bourne has the second ”highest passer rating generated when targeted last season”. Patriots quarterback Mac Jones had a quarterback rating of 140.9 when targeting Bourne. Could we see the Jones-Bourne connection more this season? The Buffalo Bills are favourites to win the Super Bowl. Bills' quarterback Josh Allen is favourite to win NFL MVP. Is it time to take a long hard look at Stefon Diggs and maybe take a gamble that he'll lead the NFL in receiving yards? He may not be the best wide receiver in the NFL, but he's definitely a top five. Add Allen to the mix and the +1400 for Diggs to have the most receiving yards seems like a great bet. The Pittsburgh Steelers' running back Najee Harris was a workhorse for Pittsburgh in 2021. Some of that had to do with now retired Ben Roethlisberger's poor play. It's still to be seen what impact Mitchell Trubisky will have on the Steelers, and if Harris will continue going the Derrick Henry route and being the emphasis of Pittsburgh's offense. How does this impact his fantasy value? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Fantasy Football has given a lot of Fantasy owners a degree in sports injuries, and when trying to decide who to select in the first round, how much weight does a guy's injury history have on that decision? We are just a couple weeks away from the NFL Draft, and unlike most years, there doesn't seem to be a lot of buzz around the quarterbacks in this year's Draft, outside of longshots and hand measurements. This has clearly become a two dog race between Malik Willis and Kenny Pickett, which one will be selected first? New EnglandPatriots' Damien Harris Could Be The Most Underrated RB in The NFL It just seems obvious that the Buffalo Bills are going to successfully defend their AFC East crown. However, the Miami Dolphins have made some offensive moves to compliment their underrated defense, and they could become a bit of a pain in the ass for Buffalo. When do you draft a tight end? That's probably the most complicated question in fantasy football. What type of league are you in? Do you have a superflex position where you can flex a couple of tight ends? Are you in a PPR (Point Per Reception) or Non-PPR league? All those things need to be taken into consideration before you start selecting tight ends. Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode Ray Rauth and Producer Mike talk a plethora of football, fantasy football, and NFL betting to chat about. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is the favourite to win the NFL League MVP award at +700, could this be the year that somebody outside of Green Bay Packers' Aaron Rodgers wins MVP? If Allen is going to make that MVP bid, his teammate wide receiver Stefon Diggs is going to have a big season, so if you were willing to drop a bet on Josh Allen to win MVP, then you'd have to take Stefon Diggs on your fantasy team right? Apparently Tom Brady was trying finagle a way to get himself on the Miami Dolphins, and we have to ask, was Brady just trying to stick it to the New England Patriots? Pre-NFL Draft is when you'll always find the best futures betting value, and this may sound crazy, but the Las Vegas Raiders paying out +3500 to win the Super Bowl sounds like a bet that's too good to pass up. Finally, the early rounds of fantasy football drafts are pretty easy, it's finding the value in the later rounds that gets difficult. Los Angeles Rams' wide receiver Van Jefferson feels like the type of late round pick that can bring a lot of value to your fantasy team. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
On this episode,Ray Rauth and Producer Mike take a look at the top two fantasy football players, Indianapolis Colts' Johnathan Taylor and Tennessee Titans' Derrick Henry, and try to determine who should be the first overall pick. New England Patriots fans have been very down on N'Keal Harry, so Ray and Mike try to find a positive spin. Is Los Angeles Chargers' running back Austin Ekeler a safe or risky fantasy pick? On this episode, Ray and Mike look at Christian McCaffery and debate whether or not he's overvalued in fantasy football. The New York Jets Over/Under for wins this season is 5.5, and Mike and Ray try to predict how many games New York can win. There has been a vicious misconception that floats around NFL Twitter that nobody in the NFL wants to play with Bill Belichick. In fact, many fans and media members have told us that after Tom Brady left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, nobody would want to play for the New England Patriots. Belichick sort of shocked the NFL world on Saturday when he swung a trade with the Miami Dolphins and brought in wide receiver DeVante Parker, and get this, Ian Rapoport says that it was Parker's choice to join the Patriots. I guess that throws a little wrench into the “nobody wants to play for Bill Belichick narrative”. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

There's been a lot of buzz since the Indianapolis Colts traded for Matt Ryan. It's also the fifth starting quarterback that the Colts have had in recent years. The New England Patriots after on horrible season with Cam Newton, drafted Mac Jones in the first round, and Bill Belichick added to a short list of the Patriots franchise quarterbacks in the past 30-years. On this episode of the Dear Pats Nation Podcast with Ray Rauth, Producer Mike and I discuss the Colts instability at the quarterback position, and how lucky we are as New England Patriots fans to have quarterback stability. We also discuss Nick Wright and Skip Bayless claiming that the Patriots would be better off with Baker Mayfield. The New England Patriots finally made a big splash in free agency re-signing offensive tackle Trent Brown. It's fantastic news if you're a Pats fan, however, everybody else in the AFC keeps getting better, including the Buffalo Bills. The Bills signed wide receiver Jamison Crowder. Crowder is an extremely underrated receiver who has a knock for being injury prone. However, adding Crowder as the Bills second or third receiver is a huge play for Buffalo who is clearly going all in this season. It wasn't just a busy day for AFC East teams, another big name quarterback is joining the AFC. The Indianapolis Colts, who traded away Carson Wentz a couple of weeks ago, pulled off a trade with the Atlanta Falcons and acquired Matt Ryan for a third round pick. On this episode of the Dear Pats Nation podcast with Ray Rauth, Producer Mike and I discuss all the transactions around the NFL, the Patriots current needs, how difficult the Bills are going to be to face this season, and what impact Matt Ryan is going to have in Indianapolis. The Boston Media has consistently been hard on the New England Patriots since the day Robert Kraft traded for Bill Belichick, but it's really starting to get ridiculous. The coverage of the Patriots free agency has been filled with negativity, hyperbolic takes, and just the perfect dose of toxicity. If you're a Boston sports fan, you've come to expect this from the usual suspects. However, the snarky tweets, hit piece articles, and B.S. takes seemed to have leaked into the reporters and analysts that are known for keeping a level head, and not feeding into the well oiled blame Belichick propaganda machine. On the most recent episode of the Dear Pats Nation podcast with Ray Rauth, Producer Mike and I discuss the stupid y of the Boston Media, fake insiders doubling down on their fake analysis, the apparent change in the Patriots offensive philosophy, and the Cleveland Browns getting absolutely roasted for trading for Deshaun Watson. Any New England Patriots fan who woke up Monday morning and expected Bill Belichick to have a similar free agency to what he did in 2021, your expectations were way too high. As expected the New England Patriots had a quiet day-one of the legal tampering period. For Pats Nation it was a more normal start to free agency. The Patriots went crazy in 2021 signing big ticket free agents: Matthew Judon, Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith, Nelson Agholor, Kendrick bourne, and Jalen Mills. The Patriots were also able to acquire some much needed depth help, and re-signed captains David Andrews and James White. NFL suspends Falcons WR Calvin Ridley for at least 2022 season for betting on games. There were a lot of trade rumors involving Ridley and a few teams including the Patriots and Browns. It's an understatement to say this affects anything the Falcons wanted to do via trade. Two-years-ago Calvin Ridley was on the trajectory of being one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, and he was probably ready for a gigantic payday. After taking most of next season off, and now being suspended for 2022, the outlook of his career is in question. The Patriots released linebacker Kyle Van Noy, creating $4.1 million in salary cap savings. This was expected amongst many analysts and fans. This was clearly a cap saving move. New England has to free up money, expect more moves to happen - Contract extensions, cuts etc… Van Noy is far from being done in the NFL, but the 2019 version of Kyler Van Noy was much better for New England than the 2021 version. This is back-to-back season that Van Noy finds himself released before free agency. I'm sure he won't struggle to find a job somewhere. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Regardless of how they do it, the Patriots have to get Mac Jones a receiver. The question is do the Patriots go the route of the Bengals? Does Bill Belichick look at one of Mac's former college teammates and try to create the same magic Cincinnati did? You can take him in a lower round, he's smart, speed bursts, and great route running. Are there better options? Yes there are, however the Mac Jones/Nick Saban connection could be appealing for Belichick, and could work. Why not draft two WRs this year? Really boost the offense. We've heard a lot of people linking the Patriots to the Falcons Calvin Ridley. Bill Barnwell of ESPN has proposed the Patriots send a 2nd round pick and Chase Winovich to the Falcons for Ridley. Does this trade work for both teams? This trade makes absolute sense. Both Ridley and Winovich need a change of scenery. Giving up a first round pick is a bit of a risky move, but a 2nd and Winovich is good for both teams. Plus, Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians is furious, and is denying there was any tension between him and Tom Brady. The XFL is a thing again, but unlike Vince McMahon, the Rock and the new ownership group have decided to partner with the NFL, rather than try to create the best product. You're going to hear a lot of New England Patriots fans and the media discuss the Patriots need for a bonafide number one wide receiver. They wouldn't be wrong, but it wasn't as doom and gloom in the passing game as some people want you to believe either. New England may still need to find that guy who can take the top off the defense, however it may surprise people that the combination of Mac Jones and Kendrick Bourne, was the third most productive duo in the NFL. Bernd Buchmasser of Pats Pulpit wrote a piece that highlight that the “Mac Jones-Kendrick Bourne connection was one of the best in the NFL in 2021” Learn more about your ad choices.
