Fresh off the heels of an utterly disgusting draw at Lecce, your favorite Fiorentina podcast idiots are back to chop up that one, along with a little Crystal Palace talk. That's right, it's McMike and Tito back just like the old days (Producer Mike is too busy looking up USL League 2 prospects to sprinkle more American prospects into future transfer talks) and without an adult in the room, we rapidly devolve into our usual back-and-forth. It's not just the games we're talking about, though. We also run through the latest round of stadium updates (spoiler: the news isn't great!) before taking aim at what's shaping up to be quite a summer. Since Serie A survival isn't secured yet, mathematically speaking, we only glance at it sidelong, but it's pretty clear that the Viola are going to be very busy in the hottest months of the year. Along the way, we got some takes on Irish food, the difficulties of fully inhabiting the character of an animal, and Marin Pongračić being the Franz Beckenbauer of Daniele Ruganis. Thank you as always to Sport Social Podcast Network for hosting us and to Windchime Weather for the music. And as always, we hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed making this. Welcome to Decorating the Set: From Hollywood to Your Home with Beth Kushnick! This week on Decorating the Set, Beth and Caroline sit down with actor, writer, director and producer of 2022's Forty Winks and 2025's Atrabilious, William Atticus Parker. Will is here to discuss his new movie, The Auction, which is in pre-production (and which Beth is Production Designer), and his journey to becoming a filmmaker in a changing industry. As Beth says in the interview, young filmmakers like Will give us hope for the future of the industry. Don’t miss this interview! Interact with Beth, Caroline, Producer Mike, and all of the DTS listeners! GUEST BIO: WILLIAM ATTICUS PARKER William Atticus Parker is a writer, director, producer, and actor living in Brooklyn, New York. At twenty-one years old, he has already written, directed, and produced two micro-low-budget feature films. Forty Winks, starring Justin Marcel McManus and Susan Sarandon, had a successful festival run and is now streaming on Prime Video, Tubi, Roku, and more. Atrabilious, starring Leon Addison Brown, Mark Boone Junior, Jeffrey Wright, and Whoopi Goldberg, had a successful festival run and will release on Prime Video July 18th, 2025. Forty Winks was filmed in Black & White with Atrabilious drenched in a neon color palette. Despite technical and financial limitations, both films did very well with critics and audiences alike. Forty Winks was filmed in less than a week with a budget of $5,000 when he was 17 and Atrabilious was filmed in a week and a half with a budget of $20,000 when he was 18 – both films were entirely self-funded. The Auction, his upcoming third feature starring Raúl Castillo & Mary-Louise Parker, is set to take his small-scale darkly comedic thrillers to a science-fiction horror spectacle. His acting career began as a seven-frame cameo in Forty Winks. He has now taken on roles in The Gray House (directed by Roland Joffe), Obstacle (short film with Megan Boone) and Their Town (written by Mark Duplass) as well as being set to appear in The Auction. His inspirations include Jordan Peele, Ari Aster, Donald Glover, Spike Lee, Wes Anderson and Joel & Ethan Coen. Focused on the golden age (1950-1990) of New York filmmaking, Cinematic Immunity covers On the Waterfront through The Sopranos. The East Coast film industry, thousands of miles from the Los Angeles executives, existed by its own rules and with little oversight. It was a close-knit and freewheeling community of movie technicians that took on the most outrageous challenges to get the shot. Readers will hear the unvarnished truth of the New York movie industry—tales about union politics, studio bullshit, movie families, dangerous locations, complex shots, volatile directors, plus anecdotes about actors, pranks, friendships, rivalries, generational shifts, substance use and abuse, technical feats, and more. Includes stories about classic (and not so classic) films and television shows including: Midnight Cowboy, The Warriors, The French Connection, The Exorcist, The Godfather, The Wiz, The Taking of Pelham 123, Annie Hall, Cruising, Do The Right Thing, When Harry Met Sally, Home Alone 2, The Sopranos, and Law and Order. ### For over 35 years, Beth Kushnick has created character-driven settings for countless award-winning television series and feature films. We don't want to jinx it. Let's make that very clear. But with the Viola 5 points clear of the drop after scraping together the necessary results over the past month, it's looking like next year's centennial will indeed be in the top flight, and your favorite Fiorentina podcast idiots are coming to grips with that. It's just Tito and Producer Mike (McMike's temporarily returned to the old country) to break down the recent outings and look ahead to the Crystal Palace and Lazio games. We also touch on Italy crashing out of the World Cup before diving into what the summer could look like: outgoing stars, incoming prospects, and what exactly we're supposed to do with Paolo Vanoli. Along the way, we learn about Producer Mike's new favorite word and do a quick run through the squarest heads in recent Fiorentina history. What makes you the car enthusiast you are today? It's an idea we don't always think deeper than surface level about, but one that is intrinsically associated with our connection to cars and the community that surrounds them. === Visit http://JasonSentMe.com to get a Hagerty Guaranteed Value (TM) collector-car insurance quote! === Jason found an instant connection with Volkswagen Beetles, buying his first at age 14. Derek took a liking to all things Porsche early on, being able to explain the difference between a Porsche 962 and 956 to his local specialty dealership at age 8. (Producer Mike learned how to read at age 3 by observing makes and model names on trunks and tailgates). Rather than focusing purely on the genesis of our car enthusiasm, today's episode discusses our most formative years of being a young enthusiast and how those years shape us as adults. From observing neighbors and friends cars, to our first cars, to the driving experiences that set the pace for our automotive enthusiasm for years to come, this episode discusses the cars and life experiences that make us whole. Needless to say, no one journey is the same… Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

After back-to-back wins in Serie A for the first time this year and a resounding Conference League triumph thrown in there for good measure, your favorite Fiorentina podcast idiots are in a fine mood and ready for a rare positive episode. And yes, we realize that this is probably why that second leg of the Jagiellonia Białystok game went so badly awry. Anyways, we're running through our big dogs, boneheads, and conclusions of the past couple weeks, as per usual. Now that the dust has settled on the mercato, we also chatted about the ideal starting lineup for these final few months, and then wrapped up with our usual visit to the Relegation Percent-o-meter. Along the way, we learned the reason behind Producer Mike's reticence to bark, McMike's wardrobe suggestion (hint: it's tearaway shirts), and Tito's recurring vapors. Thank you as always to Sport Social Podcast Network for hosting us and to Windchime Weather for the music. And as always, we hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed making this. It … is happening … again! This week, Producer Mike rings in 2026 with NorCal producer DJ Shadow's 1996 masterpiece Endtroducing….., whose release was a watershed moment for the art of instrumental hip-hop. It's in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first album to be composed entirely out of sampled sounds, but focusing on the technical achievement seriously undersells the depths of Shadow's artistry. This is lively, organic music, with compositions that feel like sculptures crafted from the clay of music history, and the entire 21st-century DJing movement stands on the foundation of what Shadow accomplished here. Mike himself is a composer of sample-based music (including our awesome theme song) and a long-time admirer of Shadow's work, and he's invited Rich and returning special guest Shivam Bhatt to deconstruct an album that builds a mighty head of steam out of a grain of salt.Cohosts: Mike DeFabio, Rich Bunnell, Shivam BhattComplete show notes: https://discordpod.com/listen/170-dj-shadow-endtroducing-1996Discord & Rhyme's merch store: http://tee.pub/lic/discordpodSupport the podcast! https://www.patreon.com/discordpod
