Today we review “Kate” starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead in an action-packed assassin film that takes place in the streets of Tokyo. Mary Elizabeth's Performance and Physical prowess truly keeps it completely together. Critics have called this movie a paint-by-numbers assassin flick. While they are not wrong, Mary Elizabeth's performance is so exceptional it is worth the price of admission. Along with a decent Supporting Cast including Woody Harrelson and extraordinarily well done action packed fight scenes. This movie is not only entertaining but has one of the best performances I have seen in the Assassin genre. Video: https://youtu.be/_Y9D49v05EA

Is Zack Snyder's Justice League a superhero movie disguised as a fantasy epic, or a fantasy flick cosplaying as a superhero saga? The answer seems to be somewhere in the middle. One thing is for certain: Zack Snyder was not trying to make just another comic book sequel when he set out to make Justice League. After leaving the project only to see so much of his work reshot by Joss Whedon, Snyder has returned to reassemble the movie he originally intended to make. The end result is more akin to The Lord of the Rings than Batman v Superman – a film about humans and fantastical creatures from various kingdoms joining forces to fight against an ancient, all-powerful evil that threatens to plunge the world into darkness. As evidence from the film's many accolades this is an absolutely beautiful experience. A wonderfully acted romance that is elevated by the incredible performances and gorgeous cinematography. A deeply layered story with themes that transcend the era that it's being told in. Celine delivers an experience that is almost voyeuristic because you become immediately lost in the characters world. Portrait of a Lady on Fire is one of those rare films that shows you how cinema can truly reflect some of the deepest human emotions. This film is an example of a foreign Masterpiece that can be enjoyed as long as one is willing to read to enjoy a film.

On this episode we check out Booksmart directed by Olivia Wilde, and staring Beanie Feldstein , and Kaitlyn Dever. I'm not going to bury the lead on this one. This is probably one of the best films we have seen in awhile. We discuss how it's Humor, Direction, and Production all come together to create a magnificent cinematic experience. And in some ways it's a cinematic experience that rises above and turns into a cautionary tale about Friendship. More than any film I think we've discussed thus far this is a complete movie. The absolute wonderful performances from the movie actresses is just icing on the cake of a film that stays with you after it's done. A hilarious comedy filled with archetypes and Usual Suspects associated with College/High School coming of Age stories. But this movie more than any of those films in this one all of those characters have closure and their stories add to the main characters journey. Booksmart is amazing please watch it as soon as possible.

On this episode we talk about “Good Boys” A coming-of-age comedy starring three actual teenagers. I'm not going to bury the lede here we thoroughly enjoyed this film. Granted it's not your big budget Blockbuster or Oscar contending biopic. It is in the purest sense a comedy that uses humor to tell some interesting anecdotes about being a real teenager. Directed by Gene Stypnitsky and written by him and Lee Eisenberg. And Starring three wonderful actors, Jacob Tremblay, Keith L. Williams, and Brad Noon. These young actors bring a genuine comedy and understanding of the material and somehow elevate a raunchy comedy.
