Do you love deadlines? Let's be honest. We don't love them most of the time. We tend to feel like they are too much pressure on us, but I believe they are essential in our lives. They help us get things done. For instance, if you have a goal and book, it on a particular date, you will always do everything you can to ensure you hit the goal. Right? The date becomes your deadline, and more often than not, we meet the deadlines. Not long ago, we moved to Truro. Before we moved, we had deadlines on everything we needed to do to both our houses. True to it, we managed to hit the deadlines. That's why people say that goals without deadlines are just dreams. Let's master the art of giving life to our plans by assigning them deadlines. Chloe and I love travelling and going on holidays. To achieve that, we always set deadlines for everything we need to do personally or in our business.I would love to hear from you. What deadlines have you set for yourself? I wouldn't mind being your accountability partner. Feel free to send me a message, and I will be keen to keep you in check. The Laughter Man, Pete Cann, is on a fun-filled mission to bring the positive benefits of laughter to the world. Did you know that batching can help you become more productive and help you save time? Batching up on repetitive tasks creates room for you to concentrate on other things peacefully. For instance, today has been a podcast day for me. I am recording all the episodes for September and handing them in for postproduction. Batching works like a charm for me because I will concentrate on other aspects of the business over the next three weeks and have some fun at the beach. How can you start batching? To start batching, you need to have a pen and paper. List down all the repetitive tasks you have to handle in a week or a month. Next, look at the tasks you can comfortably work on in one sitting. For instance, if you are a podcaster, you can decide to dedicate one day to recording, editing, making your show notes, and scheduling your podcasts. What this does is that it allows your brain to be in the flow and get on autopilot. If you've got any questions about batching, I'm glad to answer them. Feel free to send me an email at: pete@petecann.comWhich tasks do you think you can batch? Do goals come true? I believe deep inside me that goals do come true. I ticked a bunch of goals off my goals list. Not because I gave up on them, but because I achieved them. Dr. Doug Bennett wrote a fantastic book called Goals Do Come True. This book has been such an inspiration to me, and I highly recommend it. It is such an easy read that I'm sure you can benefit from it too.I've been looking back at all my goals, and now they are achieved. I must say I'm amazed and more motivated to set even more. Here are some of the goals that I have achieved so far:Ran a marathonWe moved to Cornwall. This was essential for our family because we wanted the children to go to Truro schools, which are 15 minutes away from where we live. Also, we wanted to have a chance to go to the sea at least four times a week. Last week I managed to be at the beach four times a week. Hooray! I achieved!Laughing on stage with at least 2000 people. This is one goal that excites me the most. I did it! Today I am here to motivate you to keep setting goals because goals come true. Today take a few minutes off your schedule and set your goals. Don't forget to write them down because the more you write them down, the more they become a reality, and the more you want to work towards them.  Do you need help setting the goals? How often do you say no to things, no matter how good they appear? As human beings, we tend to avoid saying “No,” yet it could save us from much pain later. When you say no, it gives you room to concentrate on other important things. The other day, Scott, a plumber, was fixing a few things in our house. He was working on a Saturday and kept saying it wasn't sitting well with him. The problem is that he takes a lot of jobs that make him work on Saturdays and keep him away from his son. Scott says yes to everything, and he ends up missing out on important things like family time. I talked him into accepting that he can say no, which is okay. I have had to say no to a number of jobs because they do not sit well with my boundaries or vision. You can do the same too. Learn to say no to good things that will lead to you having time for great things. The thing is you have to find a good way of saying no. For instance, if you amicably turn down a job because the pay is low, if the company is dedicated to having you take up the job, they will do everything in their power to ensure they get to a level where you can agree.Listen in to hear more. The Laughter Man, Pete Cann, is on a fun-filled mission to bring the positive benefits of laughter to the world. The Covid pandemic made us realize that laughter yoga online is as good as in person. People adopted online laughing yoga when the pandemic hit, and we got locked down. We basically started doing it four times a day to get ourselves through what was happening at the moment in the world. It soon made me realize that we don't need to be in-person to laugh with each other. After being a laughter yogi for years, I can tell there is a slight difference at the end. The in-person laughter tends to have a more powerful ending. There's the bit where you do the free flow and laughter and close your eyes. However, I feel that that is still achievable online if it's set up in the right way. One of the things we need to know about online laughter is that you have to get your concentration there to reap the maximum benefits. If you are on an online session, make sure you are not doing other things like checking your emails or social media. They will distract you.Are your camera shy? You don't have to join the session with your camera. You only need to have your microphone on and laugh along with other people. Thanks to Clubhouse, we now have an audible app where we all can show up not caring about getting dressed.Would you like to join an online laughter club? My advice is to go to Facebook and search for laughter yoga groups on Facebook, and there's even a zoom laughter yoga group as well, where people post all their clubs. Join the group you will find worthwhile. Soon I will have a laughter yoga club when we move to Cornwall. The world needs more laughter, and I am making it my goal to spread as much laughter as possible. Soon, we are moving to different parts of the UK, to a lovely county called Cornwall, so we're leaving Bristol, the city. However, I still want to do my laughter yoga training in Bristol, which will be running twice a year.I have also been thinking of doing laughter yoga training across the UK. Very soon I will be in a town near you. We need more laughter yoga leaders to help us spread laughter. Laughter yoga is so accessible to everybody, and it's such a simple but effective well-being tool. I think traveling the UK and doing more training across the UK will help open up the UK when it comes to laughter yoga and start getting more and more pockets of laughter yoga clubs or laughter clubs. Reach out to me, come and say hi, if you're something you're interested in learning more about my plan or even just learning how to attract more people to your training  Please leave us a review on iTunes. Is there a difference between laughter yoga and laughing yoga? Honestly, this is where we say the difference is the same. The two words mean the same thing. If you are listening to today's episode, you must be curious to know what laughter yoga is.Laughter yoga is all about laughing for no reason at all. We don't need jokes. We don't need humour when we laugh. When we do laughter yoga or laughter yoga, the premise is that the body doesn't know the difference between fake and real laughter. We do these different laughing exercises and various breathing exercises to trick the brain into thinking that we are genuinely laughing. Before you know it, you are genuinely laughing, especially when you're in our group of people. It's highly contagious.  Last week I was on stage with about 250 people. When we started, some people didn't want to laugh. By the end of the session, the whole auditorium was laughing, and the energy had been lifted. With laughter yoga, we incorporate yogic breathing. We don't necessarily use yoga poses. A study shows that, when we breathe, normally, 20% of oxygen sits in the bottom of our lungs, and like this residue of, of stale oxygen that we hardly ever breathe out. But, when we do laughing yoga or laughter yoga, we exhale it.Listen to this episode to learn more about laughter yoga.Would you like to share a laugh with me? Have you ever been on TV? What was your experience?I want to share what I learnt about being on TV in this episode. Unfortunately, I cannot share a lot about the show, but I can assure you that you'll get the key takeaways. The filming took place in a hotel in London. What I found really interesting about the day was there was a lot of sitting around and waiting to be called upon to do the next bit of filming. Because ultimately, this show has a script that they're aiming to cover. The start of the story was interviewing me and asking me about my story about how I got to become the Laughter Man. I was giving them a few different answers about, you know, how it was running my business, how I discovered laughter, how laughter changed my life and how I wanted to change other people's lives with it.I went on to the show, and I did my laughter in front of an audience. There were probably about 1000 people. It was definitely a bit of a factory line. Next, we got a message to get back onto the minibus and head to the theater for a stage show-off. It was a nervous process with a lot of waiting. All I can say is that it went well. I was able to get everyone laughing. My ultimate takeaway was that you are just this piece of a puzzle a bigger picture when you are on television.Listen in to hear more.Key Talking Points of the Episode:[00:49] How I spent my filming day for TV[04:42] My biggest takeawayStandout Quotes from the Episode:“I'm nobody special. I just literally decide to do the things that I decide to do and make things happen.”“Ultimately, when you're on television, you are just this piece of a puzzle a bigger picture. Social media is essential because people are social online nowadays. Depending on what social platform you'd like to use, you need to be present in these places. Personally, I'm on most social media platforms, but I spend most of my time on LinkedIn because most of my business comes from the corporate world. Here are four tips you can borrow to help you get yourself out there using social media:Decide which social media platform is best for you and where your avatar hangs out: My all-time social platform is LinkedIn because that's where most of my business comes from.Create content: You need to create content around your brand to position yourself as an expert in your field.Scheduling content: To make your life easier and to make sure that you never miss a day of putting up content on your social platforms, the best thing you can do is to use a scheduling tool. Also, consider having different themes for different days.Reply to comments: People take time to comment on your posts. The least you can do is take your time to reply to their comments and engage with them.Did you learn something from this episode? Feel free to share what you learnt in the comments section. When did you last have belly hearty laughter? Many of us have no idea. The good news is you don't have to wait until you find something funny for you to laugh at. You can laugh without reason. Are you wondering how that is possible? Try these four laughing environments.Solo Laughing: You can laugh over anything. If you are at home handling your chores like ironing, you consider laughing at the movement of the iron box. Also, you can laugh when doing laundry or dishes. Laughing solo is an excellent way to boost your energy and elevate your mood naturally.Audio laughter: The environment doesn't involve any visuals. You just get into a room like Clubhouse and just laugh without seeing anyone else in the room. If you are looking to laugh, join an audio session, feel free to find on Clubhouse.Zoom Laughter: This is a great environment to laugh in because you can see the people on the other side. This morning I was laughing with my guest, and the laughter got so real that her jaws were in pain. We started laughing while rubbing our jaws, and the connection was magical.In-person Laughter: ultimately my favorite. It's the in-person one. This is so powerful when you're in a room, with people genuinely laughing together a bit for the same reason that you were there to laugh and to have this uncontrollable laughter. It is powerful.   Feel free to enjoy any laughter environment.Key Talking Points of the episode:[01:29] Solo laughing[02:30] Audio laughter[04:30] Zoom or video conferencing laughterHere are some laughter groups that you can join for zoom laughing sessions:Laugher Yoga Zoom GroupLaughter Yoga UKLaughter Yoga OntarioThe Laughter Man, Pete Cann, is on a fun-filled mission to bring the positive benefits of laughter to the world.
