Twas the night before the Isklar Norseman Xtreme Triathlon and all through the cabins, not a creature was stirring, not even a triathlete. The wetsuits were hung by the athletes with care, as they dreamt of the black tee shirt, that would soon be theirs. And the ferry stood still on Eidfjord's cold waters, waiting to take them beyond the shore. Soon they'd be jumping and their heart rates racing….After running down Dag Oliver, Managing Director of Norseman, at The London Triathlon Show, I was given the very enjoyable task of taking over Norseman's Instagram Stories over the 4-day race period. This is my journey and story.

I sent a message to the Empire Triathlon Club in New York and soon found myself attending one their strength sessions and runs! They welcomed me with open arms and I had truly a terrific time. Mark has raced in over 36 Ironmans - that's a race made up of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle ride and a marathon run on the end. However, Mark hasn't stopped there. He has also finished a double Ironman TWICE - AND a TRIPLE Ironman! He is my hero, for if I ever complete a triple Ironman it would be a dream come true.AND if that's not enough, he broke the world record for the most press ups in under 30 mins at 1,000 - I'm working towards 50 at the end of the year!I would be lying if that was all of his impressive achievements and the best part - he's not slowing down! I refused to accept this.My determination came from the epic tales of the impossible from Frank Wild, Shackleton and Scott.
