Hey y'all! In this episode, I read through chapters 13 and 14 of the book of Hosea. Chapter 13 opens with God's relentless judgement on Israel, while 14 closes with Israel's restoration. I also dig deeper into the history and spiritual lessons that can be gleaned from the tribe of Ephraim, as well as the personal significance in my walk with the Lord. Ephraim is mentioned throughout these chapters in Hosea, and I believe understanding the significance of Ephraim provides deeper insight into Hosea's writings. These scriptures embody and illuminate the beauty of God's redemptive power and mercy. I hope you all enjoy this episode, and that the Lord speaks to you in some way through it. Hey y'all! In this episode, I'm joined by Kirsten Brucker where we discuss friendships, her freshman year of college (so far…), her struggles with depression, and her mother's battle with cancer. Kirsten has endured so much and found so much faithfulness in the Lord's timing, as well as peace that surpasses understanding. She uses her testimony to encourage others for Christ - especially her Instagram story where she posts Bible verses and Magnificent, Terrific, Wonderful words of encouragement. Hey y'all! In this episode I am joined by UGA Freshman Kirsten Brucker, who I invited to share what the Lord is teaching her in this season. We discuss Kirsten's testimony - God's faithfulness throughout her life in dealing with worldly temptations, a sinful relationship, and many things that would never fulfill until she surrendered to the Lord. We also discuss the Cultural/Consumer Christianity in America and our college campuses, and the urgency of seeking the Lord more fully and genuinely, as well as the need to share the gospel to unreached people. Kirsten is a bright light for the Kingdom, and I am so grateful for her heart and her willingness to share her wisdom with the Words of Love community. As always, speak love and live it! Hey y'all! This is Luvlan Lee - host of the Words of Love podcast. In this episode, I discuss the reality of going through the motions and drifting through the Christian life. Even after being saved and knowing the truths of Jesus, it's easy for us as believers to feel like we are living passively. Maybe you have proclaimed Jesus as the Lord of your life, or have been attending church for a while, or know deep down that you want to follow Him... but, you just feel like it's empty. You still walk through depression, anxiety, stress, grief, etc., and you're wondering where Jesus is. Trust me, I've been there. Can I share a promise with you? Jesus wants to be your guide - you pillar of cloud by day & fire by night. He wants to the anchor to your ship - to keep you from drifting. Maybe you're not a Christian or were a Christian. The Lord is still calling you back with open arms. He doesn't want you to wander through the desert for another 40 like the Israelites did. He wants you to enter into a land of Milk & Honey today! Man... now I want an iced latte with milk&honey, that sounds like it would slap! Anyway, click 'play'! As always, speak love & live it! Hey y'all! My name is Luvlan Lee and welcome to the Words of Love podcast. In this episode, we discuss the importance of reaching out to friends and family frequently and consistently. In a world that is so busy and tumultuous, it is so easy to forget to do things - Little things like washing the dishes or checking the weather, and big things like wishing your mom happy birthday or making time for your family. What if we were intentional with our friendships, relationships, and daily interactions? What if we chose to seek to remember and pay attention to when someone we love isn't there? What if we started being human again? Life is already difficult, depressing, and stressful as it is. The last thing we need is to feel forgotten. Join me and my Freshley SG in ministering to our friend Meghan, who could not attend because of a vomiting issue. Prayer is powerful! Thank you to UGA Freshley for providing a place for us to meet, and to each of the girls who gathered in prayer (in order of prayer): Hannah Walker, Abby Nand, me, Robyn Rayford, and Belle Wilson

Hey y'all! This is Luvlan Lee + welcome to the Words of Love Podcast, where I talk about lifestyle, hard questions, + anything you want to talk about from a Christian perspective. I'm really excited about this episode because for the first time, I'm the one being interviewed and asked the questions - oh how the turns have tabled! I am being interviewed by Drew S, a second year student majoring in Psychology here at the University of Georgia. I had no clue what he was going to ask me prior to this interview, so it was all on the fly and honestly very exciting, so thank you Drew for asking such thought-provoking questions! Drew and I will me four times this semester, where he will check in + interview me. In this episode, we discuss the topic of Suffering - specifically my views on suffering as a Christian/how I react to different forms of suffering/challenges + God's role in our suffering. Does God cause suffering on us? Why do bad things happen to good people? What would I do if someone took advantage of me? And more! Hey y'all! In this episode, I'm joined by my new friend Kayla Lopez, who is a sophomore at the University of Georgia majoring in Journalism/Mass Communication. Kayla has grown up knowing Jesus her whole life, but would say her relationship with Him became personal for about 3 years, when she made the decision to attend church on her own + get baptized. Kayla is so excited to be on the podcast today, and says "this is literally a dream come trueeee", as she aspires to be a broadcast journalist some day in the future. In this episode, we continue our discussion on forgiveness, apologizing, and accountability - answering the polls from my Instagram story + reading some tips from the article "Accountability" by Mia Mingus. So many people, especially in our generation, do not know how to give proper apologies. This is absolutely unacceptable, and we must learn now how to hold ourselves accountable for our actions + put ourselves in the vulnerable position of apologizing. If we don't now, then we'll miss the window of apologizing + potentially lose the relationship. Apologizing + repentance are the heart of the gospel + the call of every Christian! We hope you all enjoy this episode and please reach out + thank Kayla for her time, insight, and for being a beautiful person inside + out! In this episode, Kayla and I discuss the Instagram polls I posted last week on Forgiveness and Apologizing. We answer your questions on a variety of topics, including: Is it easy or difficult for you to forgive others? Is it easier to forgive or avoid? What's more important: forgiving or apologizing? Are we 100% forgiven? Is there a limit to forgiveness or is it unconditional? Does God limit Himself by forgiving unconditionally? Can't we just take advantage of Him and treat Him like a doormat? and more like these! - some of which may be answered in the next episode. Hello! Happy first episode of SEASON 3!!! It's crazy to already be on the third season of Words of Love already, and I am so excited to begin with some exciting announcements and updates in this episode. Glory to God for real because He is just incredible and so faithful. In this episode, we discuss forgiveness - which is a very important and central theme to Christianity. We discuss: what is forgiveness? The google definition vs. the biblical definition? Why is forgiveness necessary and what does it require? What are the consequences of holding grudges + having a heart of unforgiveness? Why did Jesus sacrifice Himself + take on our sin? Why is forgiveness offered to us in the first place? and more! Hey y'all! This is your host Luvlan Lee + welcome to the Words of Love podcast. In this episode, we talk about... prostitutes + harlots, specifically how Jesus used these unlikely women to share His message + further His kingdom. We explore and discuss the stories of Rahab (a Canaanite woman, liar, and harlot in the city of Jericho - Joshua 2), Gomer (unfaithful wife to the prophet Hosea - Hosea 1), and lastly Mary Magdalene/Mary the sister of Lazaraus... (were they even harlots like everyone thinks they were??). I really enjoyed studying these passages and recounting these stories. There is such a rich blessing + piece of wisdom in each one of these women's life stories. The symbolism, the bold faith, the testaments of HIs love, ugh... SO GOOD. I hope you all enjoy this episode + find a rich blessing in it too! As always, speak love + live it! Hey y'all! In this episode, we're exploring what the Bible says about HOPE. What is Hope? Why is it important? Biblical hope vs. Worldly hope. How do we access Hope? What should we hope for? And so much more. Hope doesn't disappoint. God's hope is confident expectation whereas the world's version is of wishful thinking + a level a doubt. I hope you are blessed by God's Word today. Hey y'all! This is Luvlan Lee and welcome to the Words of Love Podcast! In this episode, we tackle the big question: What is faith? Many of us have heard this word at some point in our walk w Christ (or even if you're not Christian). We base our whole belief system/values on faith in Jesus, don't we? Seems pretty important then! We deep dive into Hebrews 11:1-16 to see what the Bible has to say about this topic - contemplating God's definition of faith, examples of faithful followers throughout the Old Testament, and the rich blessings and promises available to us through faith (hint hint: opportunity for everlasting life!!) GOD'S DOING A BIG GIVEAWAY. Y'ALL BETTER HOP ON THAT!

If you've been following along on my Instagram stories, you probably saw a quick survey/polls asking different relationship dating questions! I wanted to see what y'all thought about some of these important questions/what y'all value in a dating relationship! Specifically in this episode, we read y'all's advice/reasons/answers for dating and also share our experiences/Christian perspective on dating. We answer the questions: Are you dating for marriage? (Why or why not), Is being Christian important in a potential boyfriend/girlfriend?, and Is it overprotective/jealous of your bf/gf doesn't let you hang out with people of the opposite gender?. We couldn't answer all the questions I had on my story in this episode, so expect a part 2 soon!
Hey y'all! Happy Wednesday. This is part 2 of the episode with Melissa and Loralei. If you haven't yet, go stream their first episode S2E16 Relationships: Boys, Dating, & Sexual Trauma. It's very insightful and powerful! In this episode, we share our advice and things we've learned from our personal dating relationships as high school/college students. I also share a reading on “How to Date” from Ben Stuart's devotional Dating in the Modern Age. This was one of the readings that showed me clearly what I should be looking for in a relationship and how to date in a God-honoring way! And it obviously worked LOLOL. In this episode, I'm joined again by my newfound friend Weston Kephart! Y'all probably remember him from S1E5 “I Used to be Gay...Until CHRIST” in which West share's his testimony of how he used to be gay, but is now denies his sin and is alive in Christ. It's a powerful testimony, so go stream it! In this episode, we discuss what it means to deny our flesh and pursue Christ. It's not an easy task (AT ALL!), which is why we need to ask the Holy Spirit for discernment and Jesus for strength. We also discuss our thoughts on PRIDE (as it is Pride Month) and how this celebration of LGBTQ goes against the perfect will of God and His intentional design for love in humanity. We also discuss Pronouns: should we honor them? Who is our identity found in? How do we determine what is sinful and what isn't? What advice/words do you have for people in the LGBTQ community? And how can we as Christians demonstrate love for everyone without compromising on Christ's instructions? Hit that play button and listen in to see what the Word has to say!!! Hey y'all! In this episode, I am joined again by the radiant and kool kat Kaitlyn Courtemanche, a sophomore at Tocoa Falls College pursuing ministry leadership and theology! Kaitlyn is featured in "S1E7 Roots & Solitude: Covid Reflection", so go listen to that one! We discuss how God is always good, but is also confusing... He gives and takes away in His will, and sometimes that counters what we were expecting. God throws a lot of our plans out the window (a lot of things we feel secure in/believe to be promises), and we must learn to grapple with all of that and trust despite the confusion. We also discuss the majesty of God's plan - how much higher His ways are than ours... and how we need to trust even when things don't make sense. He is pruning us. He tests us by making this make "not sense". As college students and young adults, a major anxiety is about the future and what His plans are for us: what does God want us to do? What will the future look like? My spouse? My job? Ministry? etc... Kaitlyn and I both wrestle with those feelings of doubt and insecurity. Do we need to go around the entire globe to be missionaries OR can we work in leadership in one town? Which is more pleasing to Him? Our purpose??? These are the questions and thoughts we discuss and bounce amongst ourselves in this podcast... all while hiking, enjoying nature, and having lots of fun :) God is so good even when things feel confusing
This episode requires a subscription: https://anchor.fm/wordsoflovepodcast/subscribe Hey y'all! This is Luvlan Lee and Welcome to the Words of Love podcast. Today, I am joined by my younger sister, Loralei Lee, who will be a freshman this year at Georgia State University and Melissa Goolsby, who is a sophomore at Samford University. We talk about what all girls talk about when they're together... boys. This is like being part of a sleepover and hearing all the tea - our struggles, our failures, our rejections, but also all the exciting and infatuating feelings of having a crush/being in a relationship. Melissa shares her advice about her previous relationships and some things that she would do differently if she could. Loralei, likewise shares her experiences of sexual abuse and trauma that she experienced from a toxic relationship at a young age - how that scarred her and had a significant impact on her future life and the way she sees the world. More people need to understand that Boys will be Boys is not justification for their actions. These "boys" should not be getting into serious relationships. These little actions have a detrimental effect on the girl - their mental health, their body image, their relationships, school, faith journey, family life, everything! Take accountability for your actions. We also discuss what Jesus says about dating and marriage - what we should be seeking in a relationship. This is such an important topic for the youth of our generation, and I pray that these words will resonate with you and guide you on your dating/relationship journeys. Jesus above all. Seek Him first. As always, speak love and live it! For more updates on the podcast, follow me on Instagram (@wordsoflovepodcast) and (@luvlanlee). HEY Y'ALL !!! Happy Words of Love Wednesday! I am so excited to be back on the podcast and that it's officially summer. God has been so good and faithful this year, and I am ready to use this free time to study His word and share my findings with you all. This episode in particular is one I have been meaning to speak on for quite some time - addressing the lukewarm nature of our churches, and how many proclaimed "Christians" actually aren't Christian at all... Progressive Christianity isn't Christianity..., it's actually the counterfeit, not Jesus. It's a hard reality, but it's truth. So many Christians today do not own a Bible, let alone read it. Our children do not possess the discernment for the things of God and the the things of Satan. We constantly side with Satan believing that it's God. Many today misrepresent Christ's mission, and are actually doing more harm than good by preaching false doctrine. Jesus addresses this problem in Matthew 15 - specifically the importance of practicing what we preach, if we truly understand/are willing to apply His teachings, and if we are persistent enough to keep coming in faith even when He rebukes us. I love this story and illustration of Christ's compassion - whether we are His children partaking in the bounty ON the table, or a dog with the privilege of receiving the crumbs that fall from it. HE IS SO COMPASSIONATE. WE MUST BE FAITHFUL. As always, speak love and live it! For more updates on the podcast, follow me on Instagram (@wordsoflovepodcast) and (@luvlanlee). Hey y'all! In this episode, I am joined by two beautiful sisters in Christ. These two are fellow AAPI Christians and in my grade at the University of Georgia. Ally Murari (Indian/Music Major) and Sarah Park (Korean/Marketing) to share testimonies and words of encouragement. This episode focuses on Ally's story - specifically how she encountered Christ over quarantine (through Sarah), began listening to worship, and is now (almost a year later) a new born Christian!!! Worship is powerful. Though Ally primarily grew up Hindu, her temple was very multi-cultural/religious, and took part in various forms of worship (Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, etc.). She shares her experience and the beliefs of her previous faith, and how she realized "there's something about Jesus". Powerful. We urge one another to truly search the scriptures for Truth (what does the Bible even say about the Person of Jesus?), to incline your ears away from "sweet, self-gratifying/health and wealth gospel, to test the spirits and weed out the false prophets. Hey y'all! Welcome to Words of Love Podcast. My name is Luvlan Lee and I am a sleep-deprived freshman at the University of Georgia. In this episode I share my depression and suicidal intention story. Covid-19 has been hard on everyone, I won't discredit that, but for me it was a nightmare. On top of lockdown, senior year (no prom, graduation, last summer, etc.), Kenneth and I were broken up (over email!), I had no idea where I was attending college, kicked out of the house, threatened to hurt my sister, and almost took my own life... but GOD. Lemme tell y'all right quick that JESUS SAVES. I hope you all enjoy this episode and that the Lord speaks to you through my testimony. For those struggling with depression and anxiety, know that you are not alone. Things will get better! I promise Jesus loves you and this life is SO worth living. I love you. I see you. I empathize with your pain. Give it to Jesus. As always, speak love and live it. Hey y'all! In this episode, I talk about the reality of lukewarm faith - something that I have personally been walking through as of late. #testimony
Hey y'all! It's been a minute, but here is part two of Amelia's episode. In this episode, we jump around to different topics, but the highlights are: how our faith is individual and our relationship with Christ is personal, cultivating our faith in private, the current social media culture and how our faith fits into it, having a kingdom mindset going into social media. I hope you all enjoy this spontaneous convo episode and that the Lord speaks to you in some way through it. HAPPY EASTER!!! HE IS RISEN!!! In this episode, I'm joined again by my long time church friend, Nathan Desta, who felt inclined to share a message on how to overcome sin, and what it means to crucify the flesh. We dig through Romans 6, focusing on Paul's writings, and also address baptism, repentance, and how following Christ is a daily endeavor. We answer the questions: Do we need to be baptized to be saved? What role does it play in salvation? Does dying to sin mean never sinning again? Why do run back into sin even after we've repented? Why is being Christian so hard??? I really enjoyed having this conversation with Nate (he's so insightful!), and just give the glory to God for His sacrifice. As always, speak love and live it! Hey y'all! In this episode, I am joined by my amazing freshley small group (Sydney Yancey, Marybeth Allard, Abby Nand, and Dawn Sawyer) here in Athens, and we dissect and elaborate on how the Lord is speaking to us in Hebrews 12. I am so blessed to have this community of women to encourage, convict, and just lay my burdens down with. I pray that the Lord will speak to you in a special way through this conversation, and you'll be encouraged to take up your cross this week – through prayer, conversation, your gifts, etc. – and demonstrate Christ's sacrificial love to others. Be a witness. Though it may be Friday, Sunday is coming. He is alive! Make the most of the life He died for. Shoutout to my amazing small group - I love y'all. In this episode, I am joined by the insightful and bubbly Amelia Baumann, whom I met this past Thursday at Phoenix Community of Athens. Amelia is sophomore at University of Georgia studying Advertising, and her heart for the Lord and His people is unlike anyone I've met. I believe God truly orchestrated this night - meeting for the first time, sharing our deepest worries and brokenness, and allowing us to speak Truth and Life into one another. He guided the words of this conversation, and I just praise Him for His faithfulness. The episode is kind of all over the place, but here are some highlighted topics! This is just part 1 because MANNN, God just moved so much. EPISODE TOPICS: "If he wanted to, he would" - how this plays into familial, friendly, or romantic relationships. Are your friends worth it enough to reach out to? Do you want to be plugged in? To God, to people, etc. Extroverts vs Introverts - God's design, pros and cons, why we need each other. Why we, as females, actually NEED men - good, godly men. "Wives, submit to your husbands" ... why does the Bible say this? What does it mean? Feminism - why do women hate men so much in our culture? Is self-empowerment godly? God's design for relationships, marriage - created man and woman for a reason. Why? How homosexuality can be ... idolatry. Importance of BOUNDARIES CREATION - was it really chance? Accountability! Forgiveness vs. Reconciliation COMPARISON - singleness, insecurities, our gaps - HOW GOD FILLS THEM Are we relying on Christ to infiltrate those those gaps? Hey y'all! I this episode, Kenneth and I discuss the rising ideology of manifestation in today's culture: what it is and what it means, some issues it brings forth, and what why we instead should seek out God in prayer as the source of power and fruit in our lives. Prayer is so essential in the life and foundation of all believers - it's our means of communication and relationship with God! Hey y'all! In this episode, I discuss the reality of temptation in my life and how to overcome it through Christ. This is a reality check: I'm not perfect and I experience temptation just as much as you all do. I talk about my personal experiences, the feeling of guilt and its purpose (guilt has a purpose!), how to keep yourself from being tempted, and what to do if you've already fallen into it. I promise no one is too far gone and Jesus desires to heal each of our backslidings. Rely on Him, for His strength is made perfect in your weakness. Really hope you all find this insightful and applicable. I promise it's possible. As always, speak love and live it! In this episode, I am joined by the lovely Cathy Semeria - wife, mother, and lover of Jesus. Ms. Semeria has come to speak at my high school's FCA for the past few years about her daughter Christina's story. Almost five years ago, Tini, a sophomore at UGA, along with three of her friends, were involved in a tragic car accident that took their lives. Tini was smart, beautiful, kind, goofy, and so so passionate about Jesus. She loved singing, playing guitar, and sharing Him with everyone. Ms. Semeria shares Tini's legacy and answers some important questions: How do you keep faith in the Lord throughout life's unexpected trials? Did you ever resent God for what happened? Where did you find encouragement? What advice to you have for our generation? I hope that this podcast will encourage and inspire you to be a Spark in the Dark for Jesus
Hey y'all! In this episode, I talk about three women in the Bible who demonstrated faith and courage in midst of new and challenging circumstances. These women are Rebekah, Leah, and Abigail. HEY Y'ALL! Welcome back to SEASON 2 of Words of Love Podcast !! So humbled and blessed to be starting a second season and am just awestruck by all the Lord has done through this ministry. Today, I am joined by three of my closest friends - Providence Mpano, Kenneth Johnson, and Nathan Desta - and we discuss the next steps after realizing you desire to be in a relationship with Jesus. Perhaps you have decided to dedicate your life to following Jesus and are just ready to share Him with everyone? That is AMAZING!! But how do you start sharing Him? This podcast goes in depth into how to start that ministry and allow the Lord to use you as a vessel in making His name known. We answer questions such as: How to be a witness for Christ? What can I offer - realizing the individualized gifts God has placed in our hearts? How can you prepare to step into God's calling? And topics such as showing your true colors and not being ashamed of who Jesus is in your life. We will face persecution for believing and living out Jesus in our lives, so how do we find the strength to persevere? I hope this encourages you to live for the Lord - to know Him and make Him known! Thank you so much for the support and for your streams. It truly is changing lives and bringing Jesus out into the world. Thank you Kenneth, Provi, and Nathan for taking the time out to record this! Y'all are the best. As always, speak love and live it! She is a “Black Teenage Female Woman” with some fresh perspective on the topic of BLM and her experiences as a POC. She's a Christian and has some super amazing analogies and just.... WORD. We recount her experiences and personal encounters with racial profiling, prejudice, and injustice, reflect on the prevalence of BLM and the call against police brutality in 2020, and what the Bible says about combatting racism and reaching out to other communities in love. Jesus is a God of JUSTICE. He came to set captives free and bring everlasting life. The cross symbolizes the freedom we inherit as children of God. In this episode, I'm joined by tbh one of my best friends from church that I've known since childhood Nathan Desta (@nathan_destination) and we talk about why a relationship with God is so desirable in the first place and what being in relationship with Him really means. What does God have to offer? What's so captivating and amazing about being a Christian? And also, if God desires so much to be in a relationship with me, why does He seem so hidden? I really enjoyed recording this episode with Nathan and just conversing with him about such a crucial and vital topic to our faith. He's got some good wisdom sprinkled in there.... and a STUDY SERIES coming out soon (!!!), so stay tuned for that! All in all, I hope you enjoy this episode and I encourage you, if you're hesitant about starting a relationship with Christ, just to give it a shot! Access to this episode requires a subscription: https://anchor.fm/wordsoflovepodcast/subscribe In this episode, I'm joined by Weston Kephart, a seventeen year old from Oxford, GA who direct messaged me on Instagram that he wanted to share his testimony on the podcast. In this message, he expressed that "honestly i've been kinda feeling like the lord has put it on my heart to reach out to you! the lord has been telling me to be more open about sharing my testimony without fear of judgement. i used to be gay until christ save me from my sin!!" - West. We discuss his testimony and how JESUS rescued Him from a life of sin and how He helped West deny himself daily and seek heaven instead of earthly desires. West admits that he is nothing without God's grace, and that without Christ's sacrifice, we as sinful humans deserve hell and separation from God. For every listener who struggles with lust or same-sex attraction out there who wants to have a relationship with Jesus and is doubtful that it's possible, that is a LIE from the enemy. Jesus can change our hearts if we are willing to repent from our sin and recognize that we are sinful in nature and that we need Christ's blood to make us clean from unrighteousness. NOTHING is impossible with GOD. We don't deserve His grace or forgiveness. He is living water and He is life. I hope that you gain some kind of understanding of Jesus through this and are impacted as I was through West's powerful testimony!! As always, speak love and live it! In this episode, I do something a lil different. I focus on the urgency of Jesus' coming, touching on the parable of the five wise and five foolish virgins awaiting the marriage of the Lamb as recounted by Christ in the Gospels. Which virgins do we want to be? Scrambling for oil at the close of probation's door or safely inside to witness the wedding of Christ and His church? It's up to us. Kenneth and I also cover the song "Getting Ready" by Maverick City Music, a worship band which plays out of our very own ATL! We had the opportunity of seeing them live this fall and WOW.
