Today, we are diving into a topic I haven't talked about much lately: Body Image. I know this is a topic that we need to continue to come back to time and time again as SO many of us struggle with it. And honestly, for many of us, it's something we're going to constantly have to work on and that's okay! So if you have been looking in the mirror and felt less than, if you've been picking apart your body instead of appreciating it, or if you've been thinking, “I'll feel better when I lose five pounds,” this episode is for YOU. What I discuss: The mirror is not reality – Your perception is distorted by emotions. AND you need to stop body checking. Rewrite the narrative of your “flaws” – Your body is not an object, it's an experience. Social media is warping your perception – Unfollow anything that makes you feel “less than.” Stop using your body as a before and after – You are so much more than a number on a scale. Your body is the least interesting thing about you – Who you ARE is what people truly love. If you want more from me, be sure to check out... You know that feeling when you scroll through fitness advice online and suddenly feel like you're doing everything wrong? One person says you have to chug a protein shake right after your workout, another says you must eat carbs before training or your workout is useless, and then there's that whole debate about whether you should eat less the day after going over your macros. It's a LOT. But today, we're breaking it all down and keeping it real. Because the truth is—meal timing isn't as rigid as social media makes it seem. In this episode, we're diving into three BIG questions I know so many of you have: What I discuss: You do not need to slam protein after your workout. It's about how much protein you eat daily, not about how much you eat after working out. You do not need to fuel before workouts if you're not hungry. Listen to your body and give it what it needs.  If you go over your macros, don't make it up for it the next day, just try to hit your macros tomorrow.  If you don't know what your macros should be, I got you, sister. Hey, hey! If you're a new mom, I know how much you're carrying right now. The exhaustion, the endless to-do list, the constant feeling that no matter what you do, it's never enough. But I need you to know this: prioritizing your body is not selfish—it's survival. It's not about “getting your body back” or bouncing back—it's about feeling good in your body now, so you can show up as the strongest, happiest version of yourself. So today, we're tackling five mindset shifts to overcome the guilt of prioritizing movement as a new mom.  What I discuss: Your baby needs a mom who feels good—not just a mom who's physically present 24/7. You are not losing time by working out—you're buying it back with more energy, patience, and ease. Movement doesn't have to be alone time—you can integrate it into your day, guilt-free. Movement is not a reward—it's a basic need. Your body deserves it. You don't have to do it perfectly. Showing up imperfectly is still progress. We discuss not only the physical afflictions of the disease but also the mental symptoms, his transition from filmmaker to playwright, advice for other creatives whom might be trying to overcome a disease or disability and the tools to help them cope but, also, the gifts having a disability may offer. We talk about self publishing and promotion, facets of playwriting playwright's shouldn't burden themselves with, how minute direction can change a piece, and the ramifications of a character's action. It was certainly an insightful interview that I hope you take something away from to encourage other artists who might be holding themselves back from the creativity brewing inside. Peter Anthony Fields has written numerous stage plays that have been read or performed in Ohio, Texas, Wisconsin, Missouri, and London, U.K. The self-published edition of his full-length stage play, That Guy, was awarded the top prize in the Performing Arts category of the 2020 Best Book Awards, sponsored by American Book Fest. The Invited, a whodunit mystery, was self-published in September of 2022 and is a 2024 Red Ribbon Award winner from The Wishing Shelf Book Awards. His 10 minute play, See, Invisible, was performed at the Columbus Black Theatre Festival in Columbus, Ohio also in 2022. His plays, About Michael, Monster, and The Parking Lot, are published and licensed by Lazy Bee Scripts. He has a BA in Theatre Studies from Kent State University and is a member of the Dramatists Guild. To watch the video format of this episode, visit -            https://youtu.be/Ds5QWyPxf44Links to resources mentioned in this episode -Playwright's Corner -                                     https://www.youtube.com/@PeterFields18Lazy Bee Scripts -                                                            https://www.lazybeescripts.co.ukThe Wishing Shelf Book Awards -                                              https://www.thewsa.co.ukAmazon Self Publishing -                                                             https://kdp.amazon.comWebsite and Socials for Peter Anthony Fields -www.peteranthonyfields.comPeter Anthony Fields' Amazon Page -               https://www.amazon.com/stores/Peter-Anthony-Fields/author/B07SHJG5SG?ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=trueLinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/peter-anthony-fields-3a188a182/                Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/PeterFields007                                               IG - @peteranthonyfieldsSupport the show

You know I'm all about keeping fitness realistic and attainable—because life can get busy, right? Sometimes it feels impossible to block out 45 solid minutes for a workout. But guess what? You don't have to! Today, we're diving into the power of exercise snacks. These bite-sized bursts of movement can fit into your busiest days and still give you amazing results. If you're ready to learn how a little movement here and there can transform your body, your mood, and your life, this episode is for you! What I discuss:  Exercise snacks are short bursts of movement, 5 to 10 minutes at a time, spread throughout your day. These mini sessions keep your metabolism active, burning more calories and preventing energy crashes from long periods of sitting. Moving even briefly after meals helps stabilize blood sugar, preventing sharp spikes and crashes that lead to hunger and fat storage. Frequent movement improves focus and reduces brain fog, helping you stay productive without feeling drained. Endorphin boosts from exercise snacks lift your mood and lower stress throughout the day, instead of relying on a single long workout. Taking 10 minutes to move your body every hour can add up to a full workout at the end of the day.  It's all about consistency, not perfection—every bit of movement counts toward feeling stronger, more energized, and confident in your body. We've been conditioned to think that weight loss is the goal. That if we just see the number on the scale go down, we'll magically get the lean, toned body we want. But that's not how it works. Weight loss and body composition are not the same thing. Losing weight just means losing weight. It doesn't tell you if that weight is coming from fat or muscle, and it definitely doesn't guarantee you'll look or feel the way you want.   So today, I'm breaking down one of the biggest weight loss myths that we need to UNALIVE.  Yes, we need this myth to disappear because it is holding you back! So let's bust these once and for all so you can focus on what actually works and finally build the body you want.  What I discuss: Fat loss is NOT about eating as little as possible and working out more. A small, sustainable calorie deficit works better than an extreme cut. our workouts stay the same—3-5 strength training sessions per week is all you need. You should NEVER live in fat loss mode. Cycle in and out for long-term results. Okay, let's talk about those “awards” we're chasing—the ones that don't exist but somehow control so much of what we do, how we feel, and how we show up in life. Let me give you a few examples. Ever caught yourself secretly competing for the: “No mistakes were made” award? Or the “Most beautiful” award? How about “Skinniest”? “Lived up to all expectations”? “Never said no”? “Never asked for help”? Oh, and let's not forget the big one: “Liked by everyone.” And last but not least, the “Didn't need rest” award. Are you cringing yet? Because SAME. The crazy part is, none of these awards are real. Literally none of these exist. No one is handing us trophies for being exhausted, perfect, or never making mistakes – but still, we're running ourselves into the ground trying to win them. So, today, we're unpacking why we're chasing these invisible awards, how they're stealing our joy, and what we can do to let go of the pressure and just be. This is your time to heal, replenish, and thrive. So let's talk about how you can use nutrition to feel your best during this postpartum chapter!   What I discuss:  Don't even think about dieting.  Also, don't put pressure on yourself to count your macros Use this time of life to eat intuitively — your body needs a lot so don't hold back from giving it what it's asking for.  If you do count one macro, let it be protein. Try to build all your means around protein, aiming to get 20-30g per meal to keep you more energized and satiated.  After protein, fill your diet with lots of health fats and fiber.  Make sure you're incorporating iron and vitamin-c rich foods into your daily food intake.  HYDRATE. As we wrap up the year, I wanted to sit down and have a heart-to-heart about the lessons that have hit me the hardest this season. From postpartum changes to navigating life's chaos, I've been learning (and re-learning) what it means to give myself grace. This episode is a reflection of the seven reminders I've needed to hear lately—and I have a feeling you might need them too. What's Discussed: Your body is incredible—just as it is. Consistency beats perfection. You don't have to have it all figured out. Your goals don't expire on December 31st. You're doing better than you think. Growth doesn't always feel good. Healing isn't linear and doesn't have a deadline.
