Pop culture taught us that love is proven with spectacle. Flash mobs. Public proposals. Last minute airport chases. But are grand romantic gestures actually romantic? In this episode, Skye & Sarah break down why some big moments make us swoon while others feel manipulative, uncomfortable, or hollow. For once, size isn't the issue. ;) Romance readers know the real secret. A grand gesture only works when it amplifies trust, accountability, and consistency. Let's talk about why the best love stories are built long before the big moment. **Both Authors Have New Releases!** Skye McDonald's Amazon Page Sarah Smith's Amazon Page

American Legion's National Headquarters in Indianapolis, IndianaThe American Legion formed in 1919. Thousands of Dough Boys were stranded in Europe after the Armistice was signed on November 11, 1918. The solders became demoralized and homesick. Theodore Roosevelt Jr. son of former President Theodore Roosevelt, concerned about their welfare, proposed that a national organization of former service men to look after the soldiers post war needs. His proposal was accepted and the organization received its charter on September 16, 1919. The organization chose to put their national headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. The cornerstone of their headquarters was laid in 1925. The headquarters includes their main office, a series of war memorials and the massive Indiana War Memorial Museum. In this episode of Mastering eCommerce Marketing, host Eitan Koter sits down with Daniela Bolzmann, Founder of Mindful Goods, to talk about what actually moves the needle on Amazon today.Daniela works with brands around the world on Amazon creative, SEO, and conversion, and she spends her days testing what works and what does not. The conversation opens with how Daniela thinks about business, from abundance and gratitude to building systems that support long term growth. From there, they get into the real work. Daniela breaks down the Amazon funnel in plain terms, starting with getting found through titles and bullets, then earning the click with main images, and finally converting shoppers once they land on the listing. She explains why so many brands still treat Amazon like Shopify, and how that mistake shows up in missed sales. They also talk about testing, creative refresh cycles, and how competition reacts when something starts working. Valentine's Day sells grand gestures, expensive dinners, and picture perfect love. So why does it leave so many women feeling unseen? In this episode, we break down the biggest love myth behind the holiday and why romance novels deliver something far more satisfying. Real intimacy. Emotional accountability. Being chosen consistently, not just publicly. If you have ever rolled your eyes at roses but swooned over a fictional man who listens, grows, and shows up, this conversation will hit home. Today we're diving into something that a lot of us feel but don't always catch in the moment: Burnout. Not the regular kind of tired where a good night's sleep fixes it. The deep, lingering exhaustion that follows you into the next day, the next workout, the next conversation. Sometimes, the next level of your results won't come from pushing harder. It'll come from slowing down, refueling, and reminding your body that it's safe to grow again. This season, especially through the holidays, I challenge you to nourish your body instead of punish it. What I Discuss in This Episode How burnout disrupts your hormones, recovery, metabolism, and overall progress — even when you're "doing everything right." The real signs you're burnt out. Why rest isn't optional — and how slowing down, nourishing your body, and reducing stress can actually accelerate your results. Practical ways to support your nervous system during busy seasons so your energy, motivation, and performance return sustainably. Today, I want to talk about something that so many of us struggle to accept — the idea that you can't always give 100%. Some days, weeks, or even months… all you have is 60%. And that's not failure — that's being human. We live in a culture that glorifies "all or nothing." It tells us that if we're not giving it our absolute best — crushing workouts, tracking macros perfectly, staying on top of every little habit — then we're somehow falling short. But it doesn't have to be this way. When you start giving yourself permission to scale your effort based on your season, you stop operating from guilt and start operating from grace. And that's where real, sustainable progress happens. So in this episode of Embrace Your Real, we're going to talk about: Why 60% effort still matters more than you think What "maintenance mode" actually looks like And how to give yourself permission to scale back without losing momentum If you loved this episode, you might also like Episode 474: Overcoming Unrealistic Expectations of Yourself If you want more from me, be sure to check out... Between travel, family gatherings, endless food options, and your normal routine flying right out the window, it's easy to feel like you've lost your rhythm. But this season doesn't have to derail your progress or your peace. It just requires a little intention. So today, I'm sharing seven simple rules that will help you stay consistent, confident, and in control, without missing out on any of the fun. These are the exact things I remind myself of every single holiday season, and they're the same strategies I teach inside Movement with Julie and Macro Counting Made Simple. What I Discuss: How to navigate the holiday season without losing your rhythm or peace Simple strategies to stay consistent and confident through the chaos How to enjoy food and family without guilt or restriction The mindset shift that makes progress sustainable year-round Practical tips to balance health, happiness, and holiday fun If you loved this one, I think you'll also love Episode 586: Pre-Holiday Pep Talk: How to Stay Consistent and Confident Through the Holidays If you want more from me, be sure to check out... In this episode of Embrace Your Real, we're diving into something that might sound simple at first, but it has completely shifted the way I approach self-care. Something I call "Wellness Pairing"—the idea of combining simple, life-giving habits so they naturally fit into your day. Because let's be honest. Between work, family, workouts, and everything else pulling at your time, making space to journal, pray, walk, meditate, or even pause to breathe can feel unrealistic. That's why this episode is all about taking the pressure off. I'm walking you through how I've learned to pair small habits together in a way that feels doable, supportive, and realistic. These aren't elaborate routines. They're little shifts that can help you finally make self-care part of your everyday life What I discuss: Five easy wellness pairings you can start using right away to make self-care more doable and less overwhelming Simple ways to build consistency—even when life feels full or your schedule is unpredictable Real-life examples to help you create a self-care rhythm that works with your energy, not against it A fresh perspective on what self-care actually looks like (spoiler: it doesn't require silence, candles, or two free hours) Encouragement to show up for yourself in small, meaningful ways—even if no one else sees it. Hey hey, beautiful human! Today we're having a real, honest conversation about those frustrating seasons where you're doing all the right things—you're working out, counting your macros, staying consistent—but it just feels like nothing is changing. If you've ever looked in the mirror or stepped on the scale and thought, “What's even the point?”—this episode is for you. What I discuss: Why “slow” progress is normal (and actually a good thing!) What's happening inside your body during those quiet, “nothing's working” phases The mental shift that's helped me stay consistent—even when results aren't visible yet Why your brain adapts before your body does And how to build habits that create results—even before you can see them Because the truth is: just because you can't see progress yet doesn't mean it's not happening. Invisible change is still change. And consistency is what brings it to life. If you loved this episode, you'll also love Episode 534: Trying to Fix a Fitness Plateau? Don't Make These Mistakes. I'll link it in the show notes for you to easily go listen to next.
Hey hey, beautiful human! Today we're calling out one of the biggest lies women have been told about fitness: that building muscle will make you look bulky. If you've ever hesitated to lift heavier or commit to strength training because you were worried about looking “too big” or “too masculine,” this episode is going to shift your entire perspective. Spoiler: muscle is not the enemy. It's your secret weapon. What I discuss: Why muscle is actually what gives your body the shape, definition, and curves you're after The real science behind muscle growth and why women don't “bulk up” like men How muscle supports your metabolism, your confidence, and your long-term health Why the fear of getting bulky is rooted in outdated myths—not facts This episode is your permission slip to train smarter, lift heavier, and finally let go of the fear that strength isn't feminine. It so is. If you loved this episode, you'll also love Episode 237: How to Overcome Your Fear of Building Muscle and How to Start Building Muscle ASAP. I'll link it in the show notes for you to easily go listen to next.
Hey hey, beautiful human! We're flipping the script today and giving TikTok a little credit—because believe it or not, there are some things the app actually gets right when it comes to fitness. If you've been overwhelmed by the flood of fitness trends online, or unsure what's legit vs. total nonsense, this bonus episode is gonna bring some clarity—and maybe even a few “aha” moments. What I discuss: Why walking is one of the most underrated tools for fat loss, recovery, and hormone support The truth about progressive overload—and how it's the real secret to strength and body composition changes Why eating enough (yes, more food!) is key to seeing real results from your training So if you've been stuck in the cardio-only, eat-less-do-more trap… this episode is your permission slip to simplify, lift smarter, and fuel your body like it deserves. If you loved this episode, you'll also love Episode 126: 8 Numbers That Don't Matter (And Never Did!) I'll link it in the show notes for you to easily go listen to next.
Hey hey, beautiful human! Today we're diving into a topic that's been holding so many of us back: waiting for motivation. If you've ever caught yourself thinking, “I just need to get motivated again,” this episode is for you. Because here's the truth: motivation is fleeting, and if you're relying on it to make progress… you'll always end up stuck in that start-stop cycle. What if you didn't need motivation at all? What I discuss: Why motivation is just a feeling—and not something you can rely on The brain science behind why we default to old habits when life gets busy How simple systems (not willpower!) are the key to real, lasting consistency Why habits are stronger than emotions—and how to make them automatic 5 practical mindset shifts to stay consistent even on the hardest days So if you're tired of waiting for the “perfect Monday” or that magical burst of inspiration… this episode is going to shift everything for you. If you loved this episode, you'll also love Episode 537: What I Do on Days I Don't Feel Like Working Out. I'll link it in the show notes for you to easily go listen to next.
Hey hey, beautiful human! Today we're tackling a topic that's been so misunderstood in the fitness space: maintenance phases. If you've ever felt like eating at maintenance meant you were falling behind, losing progress, or just “holding still”… this episode is going to change everything. Because maintenance? It's not a pause—it's a strategy. And it's one of the most powerful tools for your long-term success. What I discuss: What a maintenance phase really is—and why it's not “doing nothing” How eating at maintenance restores your metabolism, hormones, and energy Why maintenance phases are essential for muscle building, performance, and recovery The mindset shift that helped me finally break out of the “always be cutting” trap So if you're tired of chasing results that don't stick… or feeling like rest equals failure… I promise this episode is going to feel like a deep exhale. If you loved this episode, you'll also love Episode 313: 8 Reasons Why Macro Counting Isn't a Fad Diet. I'll link it in the show notes for you to easily go listen to next.
In this bonus episode of Embrace Your Real, we're digging into a topic that trips so many of us up: hunger. Have you ever paused and thought, “Wait… am I actually hungry, or just stressed, tired, or bored?” If yes—you're not alone. Today, we're breaking down the two types of hunger you need to understand if you want to build a better relationship with food and fuel your body with intention. What I discuss: The difference between physical hunger (your body's call for fuel) and emotional hunger (your brain's call for comfort) How each one shows up in your body, and what questions to ask to tell them apart Why recognizing your hunger cues can totally change your consistency with nutrition, especially if you're macro counting This episode will help you slow down, tune in, and respond to your body from a place of trust—not reaction. Hey hey, beautiful human! Today we're tackling a topic that I know is going to hit home for so many of you: Underecovery. What if the real reason you're constantly running on empty isn't just that you're doing too much — but that you're recovering too little? Because sister, underecovery is a real thing. And most women don't even know it's happening until their body forces them to slow down. So if you're tired of being tired… and you're ready to feel strong, energized, and in control of your body again, this one's for you. What I discuss: What underecovery actually is (and how it's different from just being tired) How it shows up in your day-to-day life and workouts The signs your body might be screaming for more recovery — not more effort Simple, real-life ways to build smarter recovery into your routine without overhauling your life If you loved this episode, you'll also love… Episode 544: The Science of Recovery. https://www.juliealedbetter.com/embrace-your-real/the-science-of-recovery If you want more from me, be sure to check out... Hey there, beautiful human! Today, I want to take you behind the scenes and talk about what a “fit” day actually looks like. Because here's the thing… it's so easy to scroll through Instagram, TikTok, or Pinterest and get the idea that being fit means having this flawless, aesthetic life. The perfectly prepped meals. The two-hour morning routine. The seamless outfit. The color-coded snack containers. And while that might look cute on camera, let me be honest with you—it's not reality. So in today's episode, I want to debunk that “perfect day” myth and walk you through what my real days actually look like—messy moments, flexibility, and all. Because imperfection? That's not a setback. That's the strategy. What I discuss The importance of consistency on the messy, busy, real-life days to get real results. What a true “fit” day really looks like in real life. How to ditch perfectionism and focus on fueling your body well most of the time, and trusting the process over time. Hey, hey beautiful human! Today we are diving into something I know you've seen all over your feed—fitness advice from TikTok. And listen, I love a good scroll just like the next woman. TikTok has brought a lot of awareness to fitness and nutrition, which is great… but it's also spread a lot of confusion. And honestly? Some of the most viral tips you've probably heard… are just plain wrong. So in this episode of Embrace Your Real, I want to set the record straight on three major fitness trends that TikTok has gotten totally wrong. Because I don't want you wasting time, energy, or mental stress following advice that's not actually helping you build the body you want. What I discuss: The importance of structured strength training. How Carbs can actually help with recovery and sleep. Why Spot targeting fat loss isn't a thing. Progressive overload and rest are key. In this episode of Embrace Your Real, I'm breaking down what reverse dieting is really for, who it helps, and—most importantly—how to know if YOU actually need one. Because this isn't a magic trick. Today we're diving into something I've seen all over social media lately—and that's the “girl dinner” trend. If you've ever thrown some crackers, cheese, and a handful of snacks on a plate and called it dinner… this episode is for you. Because while I totally get the appeal of an easy, no-cook meal, here's the truth: if you're working hard to build muscle, increase your energy, and feel more in control of your cravings—girl dinner is not it. Today we're diving into something I know so many of you have struggled with—because I have too—and that's how to count your macros without it taking over your entire life. If you've ever felt like counting is too stressful, too rigid, or just too much to keep up with long-term… this episode is for you. Because here's the truth: counting your macros should be a tool—not a trap. And if it's leaving you burned out, anxious, or stuck in all-or-nothing mode? You're doing way more work than you need to. Today we're diving into a mindset shift that completely changed the way I approach my workouts—and helped me stop skipping them, even on the busiest or hardest days. If you've ever told yourself, “I don't have time,” “I'm too tired,” or “It's not worth it unless I go all in,”—this episode is going to shift everything for you. Because you don't need more motivation. You don't need more guilt. You just need a new way to see movement—one rooted in self-respect, not self-punishment. What I discuss: The all-or-nothing trap that keeps women stuck and inconsistent How I redefined what “counts” as a workout (and why that changed everything) Why a short walk or 15-minute lift is enough The science behind why even 5 minutes of movement boosts your mood and brain function What actually builds consistency—and why it has nothing to do with discipline The exact question I ask myself when I don't “feel like it” If you loved this episode, you'll also love… https://www.juliealedbetter.com/embrace-your-real/3-reasons-why-you-cant-stay-consistent-what-to-do-about-it If you want more from me, be sure to check out...
