Today lets tak about Execution.  To do that I want to share with you some thoughts I picked up from the best selling book "Execution". In "Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done", Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan provide a framework for business leaders to achieve results. They argue that execution is not just about having a good strategy, but also about having the right people in place and creating an environment where they can be successful.   The authors offer a three-part framework for execution, which includes setting clear goals, aligning people and resources behind those goals, and holding people accountable for results. They also provide tools and techniques for each of these components.   1-Goal setting:   The authors suggest that goals should be SMART: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. They also recommend setting goals at multiple levels, from the overall company down to individuals.   2-Aligning people and resources:   The authors argue that alignment starts with understanding what each person's strengths and weaknesses are. Once this is clear, leaders can assign tasks and roles accordingly. They also recommend creating "accountability maps" to make sure that everyone understands who is responsible for what.   3-Holding people accountable:   The authors argue that accountability is essential for execution. To hold people accountable, they suggest setting clear expectations, providing feedback regularly, and using rewards and punishments appropriately.   Major Building Block of Execution is Leadership.   7 essential behaviors of a leader   The first essential behavior a leader needs it to know the people and the business. Understanding your people and business is critical to truly executing on priorities in any business. A Leader also must insist on Realism. Rather than avoiding the truth a great leader needs to embrace the truth. This requires a leader to identify and deal with weaknesses as well as the current influence of the markets. Setting clear goals and priorities is also a critical element of leadership. People and organizations cannot execute if the direction of the company isn't clear. Don't overcomplicate things with too many goals or priorities, and make sure that communication is clear and simple. You've heard the phrase the "fortune is in the followup", and leadership absolutely requires you to follow through. Being someone that always follows through is important for a leader, it means that people will believe what you say and take you seriously. Your actions speak much louder than your words. The fifth behaviour a leader must have is the ability to reward the doers...the people that are getting things done. The goal is to drive progress and "execution", so its important to reward that behavior in the people as they do it. Expanding the capabilities of an organization and its people is a key element of a leader. Its important for people feel like they are "growing" inside a company. Plus, you will develop and expand relationships, networks and opportunities when you invest in growing people. Leaders know themselves and their capabilities. They know their own strengths and their own weaknesses. Accepting and acknowledging your own weaknesses and working to improve these is a great trait for a leader. You are a much more influential and productive leader when you are aware of the talents and resources you have, and when you understand your weaknesses and challenges that you must overcome. Katy moved to the United States from Germany 7 years ago and started her US coaching career in New York. She found herself working in the tech industry, and soon located her passion working with leaders that are in the scale up stage. Now she's working with clients across the US and in European business hotspots.Katy enjoys working in chaotic environments with CEO's who are in the scaling stage. She's a master at bringing executives from chaos to clarity and helping her clients navigate towards an organized and sustainable method of work. She starts her process with rigorous questioning to identify the top priorities, and typically sees positive and impactful outcomes within the first 3 - 5 months of an average engagement. The markers of success that Katy looks for during her client engagements and the outcomes she pursues is a healthy and excellent leadership structure, a strong business operating system and a high performing culture. Ultimately this comes from figuring out how to achieve alignment between teams and build clear roadmaps for responsibilities, metrics and goals. When it comes to the core competencies of Katy's work, for CEO's it's typically leadership development, performance and personal brand, while for the organization itself the focus shifts to strategic clarity, execution and fundraising. All of that ties into having difficult conversations with the executive team and building a culture of high performers. It's no secret that becoming a truly exceptional CEO is no easy task. There is no one-size-fits-all, linear trajectory towards excellency, and an expensive MBA is not going to save you when you're trying to navigate the seas of executive leadership. 242. How do you find the one habit to rule them all... your Golden Habit? In this episode of Gamify Your Habits, host Will Moore interviews celebrity trainer Joey Thurman on how to find your "golden habit" and achieve a healthier lifestyle through the Minimum Method. Joey shares his insights on how to use behavioral science techniques to trick your brain into wanting to eat better, sleep better, and move more, without relying on willpower or punishment. Joey explains how his approach focuses on adding small, easy changes to your routine that can have a big impact over time, rather than cutting out things you enjoy. He also discusses the shortcomings of the mainstream health and fitness industry and how he is on a mission to help people prioritize genuine health and celebrate their progress, rather than striving for perfection. Throughout the episode, Joey provides practical tips and strategies for incorporating healthy habits into your daily life, including meal prep, consistency, and regulating sleep. He also shares how regular people can use the same techniques as celebrities to achieve their health goals. Whether you're just starting on your fitness journey or looking to make positive changes in your routine, this episode will provide valuable insights and inspiration to help you find your golden habit and live a healthier life. MEET JOEY THURMAN Thurman doesn't shy away from the shortcomings of the mainstream health/fitness/diet industry—in fact, he acknowledges and apologizes for his own past experience in perpetuating the harmful myth that everyone should be pushing their bodies to the limit in order to improve. Now, he's on a mission to help others prioritize genuine health instead of some imaginary and unattainable standard of perfection. Ultimately, The Minimum Method teaches how to adopt a healthier mindset and lifestyle: feeling your best when you don't get enough sleep, working fitness into your busiest days, getting back on track when you slip up, and celebrating your progress. With The Minimum Method, you'll have the key to better health, using small, easy changes that add up to huge, life-altering results. Show Notes: Why is getting good enough, not good enough? --- Sam thought about this question and realized you may reach a plateau when you feel you have reached good enough and it can prevent you from achieving more. We segment our lives and think that the things that happen at work doesn't affect our home life or vise versa. Sometimes if we are doing really well in one area and are getting recognized and applauded, we may neglect other areas. You don't want to come home one day with a pocket full of money and realize your home is full of strangers. Sam uses a metaphor of a tree. The roots are your identity and faith. The fruit is your career, health, finances, and relationships. The trunk that connects the roots and fruit is your mission. (Sam loves to help people walk through and define their mission.) If you're a parent, it's more important than ever to not only be aware of what your child is exposed to online but to guide them in making great decisions about their sexual purity.  As the father of five children (my oldest is 12), I feel pretty confident in all of the "do-nots" that come with pornography, social media, and movies.  But until I met Zach and Angela Miller, I didn't fully understand how unprepared I was to advise my children in what to do as they grow up... and what is at stake. Zach and Angela's ministry, Purity Parenting, was born out of a desire to support and coach parents amid a scattered and sometimes confusing landscape of content for parents who want to keep their children sexually pure.  In today's episode we'll talk about why this is such a big deal, how you can start talking about these issues with your child no matter how young -- or old! -- they are, and which resources can protect your home and empower the next generation.
