Earlier this year Seattle guitarist/songwriter Ayron Jones put out his second album Chronicles of the Kid and now officially has his second number-one rock song in "Blood in the Water." He's been on tour constantly since the pandemic restrictions lifted and it's showing in these songs. Also, he has said he wants to be "the guitarist for a generation," well, that sparked my interest. It's always fun to have Ayron Jones on both The Cutting Edge Countdown and Cutter's Rockcast.
Ayron Jones' new record "Chronicles Of The Kid" is out now and we had a chat with Ayron about various topics that have had an influence on this album in particular and his music in general. The singer tells us how it felt touring with The Rolling Stones, why he cried on stage once and why he won't do it again - enjoy our exclusive ROCK ANTENNE interview!
From ultimate frisbee to ultimate guitar riffs! Ayron Jones joined Brock for another edition of Discover New Music to discuss his new album “Chronicles of the Kid.” Taking that next big step, Ayron shares how this album was able to push him musically to a new level and get the best out of him. And, of course, another round of Rapid Fire takes place…Choco Tacos, bigfoot and all!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week, we're scratching The Itch to get #Filthy! Ayron Jones' Child of the State was our 2021 Album of the Year, and we've been... jonesin'... to have him on the show ever since. The conversation did not disappoint, as it included Ayron's foray into R&B with his new single "Otherside", the hottest hot spots in his hometown of Seattle, and a family that is incredibly near to his heart. And we definitely did NOT discuss geopolitics. Enjoy. And click here to help Desi. This Podcast with Ayron Jones is rated F for FILTHY! While some may misconstrue that word as negative or nasty, Ayron says, “Where I come from, it is used as the highest compliment.” He worked with Marty Frederickson and Scott Stevens in Nashville to write his new single. Also, check out a reflection where back in January 2022, Ayron performed on the Shiprocked 2022 cruise. Fans got to see a once-in-a-lifetime experience of his band performing Prince's Purple Rain. The band was joined by Carmen Vandenburg from Bones UK for a searing solo on guitar.
Continuing our special series "Women Behind the Kit" -Featuring Tori Nance-The Contrast Project Lounge Podcast-Season 3-Episode 16 Show notes: ** Born and raised in Jax. Graduated from UNF. As a kid I was forced to listen to gospel and country music. I remember when I realized I wanted to be a musician-9th grade I downloaded limewire and heard so many genres of music for the first time. ** Musical influences? Meg White, Prince having so many female drummers I realized that it was even an option for me. ** I got my first Ludwig drum kit at 14 at a local music shop-the owner and my mom had a talk and he assured her that she could return my drums when I lost interest or failed. Also picked up guitar. ** Played my first show battle of the bands at the main library at 15. DASOTA talent show. And Jackrabbits at 18. Opportunities for women and young women to learn/play music were limited. Girls Rock camp is a great resource today. ** It gets frustrating as a drummer when you're not in a band, so I started my own one man band solo project. ** I thought I would always play original music but I have a newfound respect for cover artists that gig on a daily basis ** No one ever believes that I am the drummer or that I will be any good-each show you have to prove yourself. You have to be early. You have to be perfect. And you have to be 50x better than the guys to get them to take you seriously. I've had to fight my way into my own shows because they didn't believe I was the drummer. ** Not traditionally trained, learning instruments by ear, click tracks, incorporating technology into drumming. ** Making the decision to stay local instead of touring and relocating. ** Upcoming projects-Jessica nedelisky, Ayron moleen, Elyse berlin, Megan Mckenzie -"Sad girl Happy hour Sep 11 Tabula Rasa Brewery, Oct 7 Sarbez in St. Augustine, Oct 15 Tabula Rasa, Nov 4 The Walrus in Murray Hill. Also recording my own album with Angel Toro and joining Megan McKenzie live to play her new album. Updates Coming Soon!! Feel free to LIKE, SHARE AND COMMENT.
