His published work includes a book on the Philosophy of the Liberal Party of Australia, and a monograph on Political Power – plus academic articles on Liberty, Democracy, Constitutionalism, Political Advice, Political Communication, and Political Decision-Making. Careerwise, he currently runs his own strategy planning consultancy, Stride Consulting, with clients including industry bodies, governments, universities, schools, and private businesses. He worked as an adviser, speechwriter, and director in Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser's Private Office. He designed and taught courses on Democratic Theory, Issue Analysis, Great Political Thinkers, and Methodology while lecturing in Politics at Monash University. He was Executive Director of the Trinity College Foundations Studies Program, a pathway for International Students to The University of Melbourne, during its formative years.

Brandon Lloyd is a former Denver Bronco retired All-Pro NFL wide receiver. He completed 11 seasons of professional football in the NFL; in 2010, he led the NFL with 1,448 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns on only 77 receptions. Upon retirement, Brandon returned to the University of Illinois to complete his undergraduate and walked with the class of 2018. This November, Brandon will be graduating from Denver University with his MBA. Brandon is passionate about business and youth development. While playing in the NFL, he founded a private music publishing entity; in the latter part of his NFL career he spent his off-season's working within aerospace sales. Philanthropically Brandon mobilized a regional chapter of Blessings in a Backpack to feed youth in his hometown of Blue Springs, Missouri. Post-NFL, he has mentored DACA recipients and is active in faith-based Denver Dream Center serving families suffering from recidivism, loss of faith, and poverty. Locally, Brandon has worked as a medical device sales representative for Zimmer Biomet Spine. Within that role, Brandon provided intraoperative support for orthopedic and neurosurgeons. In his current role, he works for Mercer, where he serves as the Health and Benefits consultant where he assists mid-market companies in selecting and navigating the insurance marketplace by providing benefit packages for their employees. In addition, he is currently serving as a business partner and apprenticeship ambassador at CareerWise Colorado, a registered youth apprenticeship non-profit. CareerWise Colorado is the same organization the Cherry Creek School District uses to place student into Modern Youth Apprenticeships. Jacob Pederson is an employee at the Cherry Creek Innovation Campus. Prior to him joining the CCIC, Jacob was an apprentice for Reata Engineering, through the CareerWise Colorado Youth Apprenticeship Program. During Jacob's Junior year at Cherokee Trails HIgh School, he was introduced to CareerWise Colorado and encouraged to participate in the inaugural year as a apprentice for Reata Engineering. Jacob spend his Junior and Senior year as an apprentice where he earned credits towards graduation while also earning a paycheck and real work skills. After graduation, Jacob decided to use his Modern Youth Apprenticeship as his postgraduate plan. He did not go to college. Instead, he spent the following two years as a full time employee at Reata Engineering where he continued to build his skills within Advanced Manufacturing while also maturing as a young man. Currently, Jacob works at the CCIC as a Advanced Manufacturing Specialist where he is able to show our students the power and upward mobility that a career in Advanced Manufacturing can provide. In addition, he continues his employment and connection with Reata where he continues to build upon his technical skill. His story is special, inspiring, and one we can all learn from. Career and technical education programs have taken on many different forms, but one that has been gaining in popularity is apprenticeships. Join Katie Beal as she talks to Noel Ginsberg, CEO of CareerWise Colorado, and Gretchen Morgan, former president of CareerWise Colorado, about the initiative that seeks to enlist hundreds of employers from many sectors to employ thousands of high school students in the nation’s first large-scale youth apprenticeship program. MDRC is currently working with CareerWise Colorado to help its leaders understand the factors that either impede or promote the smooth implementation of this complex initiative, so that the program can continue to improve.
