JNS Senior Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Tobin told podcast host Alan Skorski that the truth remains the strongest weapon for supporters of Israel as Democratic leaders and some Jewish officials intensify criticism of the Jewish state. The interview focused on what Skorski described as a decades-long Democratic campaign against Israel, highlighted by former Obama adviser and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's recent trip to the country. During the visit, Emanuel told Israeli audiences that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had isolated Israel and that the longstanding U.S.-Israel relationship had essentially run its course. Skorski opened the discussion by reviewing earlier Democratic administrations. He recalled how President Bill Clinton pressed Israeli leaders to stay in the Oslo Accords despite Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat's repeated violations and calls for violence that contributed to the first and second intifadas. Under President Barack Obama, Skorski said, the White House deliberately created “daylight” between the United States and Israel. Obama likened Palestinian suffering to the Holocaust, the group J Street rose to prominence, and delegates at the 2012 Democratic National Convention booed recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Skorski asked Tobin about the responsibility to challenge Jewish officials such as Emanuel and groups including Jewish Voice for Peace and Neturei Karta. He connected the issue to sinat chinam—baseless hatred among Jews—that Jewish tradition links to the destruction of the Second Temple. Tobin's Tisha B'Av column, “Denial Inside the Modern Siege Lines,” argued that those who demonize Israel, rather than those who defend it, must internalize the holiday's lessons. Tobin said those who confront such critics hold the moral high ground. The conversation also addressed remarks by Caroline Glick at a recent JNS conference in Jerusalem, where she told the audience that “we still have the truth on our side.” When Skorski asked what that truth achieves, Tobin replied that it provides the moral authority to fight back and to mobilize Israel's supporters around the world. He added that debate is pointless with those who traffic in blood libels, because their aim is Israel's destruction rather than honest discussion. Tobin warned of a further danger from a new generation of “activist journalism” whose mission, he said, is to reshape both the United States and Israel according to its own ideological goals. The interview reinforced Tobin's position that publicly challenging Jewish voices aligned against Israel is both legitimate and essential to defending the Jewish state's security and legitimacy. Mike Waller, Senior Analyst for Strategy at the Center for Security Policy I spoke with Mike Waller about very extraordinary revelations in the ongoing controversy about Smartmatic machines, voting machines, and software their provenance, their problems, and the fact that several executives of the company have just been indicted on racketeering and corruption charges by a U.S. Attorney in South Florida and the implications for the 2024 election, which, all other things being equal, will involve such machines and or Smartmatic software.

On Monday's Mark Levin Show, if someone wanted to destroy America, they would elect Joe Biden as president. They would fund and re-arm Iran and the Palestinians. They would throw the southern border wide open. To destroy America they would do exactly what they are doing now. Also, we have a fifth column in America and the media are a big part of it. We have allowed these colleges and universities to take our money and we're told we can't touch them. Yes, we can defund them. We have no obligation to fund a fifth column that supports Hamas and Marxism. Later, former Israeli PM Ehud Barak spent the last year behind the Israeli left's civil war efforts against the current Israeli government, including organizing opposition to the government with the IDF and even Mossad. You have to wonder the extent to which he and the movement he led caused Israel's enemies to decide this was the right time to attack, as he was distracting so many in Israel due to the upheaval. His contribution to the Israeli war effort now is appearing all over U.S. media trashing the Israeli government, which is a unity emergency government, while his country is at war and young IDP soldiers are preparing to invade Gaza, where there will be high casualties. Barak is hardly a sober voice to discuss the war or any aspect of it.  Afterward, Antony Blinken is now on 2nd trip to Israel and has been meeting with PM Netanyahu for 7 hours so far, most likely trying to tie his hands and get him to bend to Biden's demands. The media keep asking how Hamas can keep firing missiles into Israel with all the Israeli bombing. The answer is that Israel is being told by Biden via Antony Blinken not to hit schools, mosques, or hospitals in Gaza even though Hamas is firing missiles from those sites. And apparently Biden is trying to dictate all kinds of terms with Israel as a condition of receiving certain kinds of military weapons and other needs.
