It's Thursday, April 3rd, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark 46 physical attacks on Christians in Israel last year Attacks on Christians in Israel increased last year according to a report from the Rossing Center for Education and Dialogue. Christians in Israel suffered 111 attacks in 2024, including 46 physical attacks. The report noted, “The most common form of physical harassment is spitting—a long-standing issue that has escalated from subtle incidents to openly aggressive acts. Clergy are now regularly harassed in public spaces.” Perpetrators are generally Jewish young men from ultra-Orthodox circles. Chinese saber-rattling against Taiwan prompting Christians to pray The Chinese military carried out large-scale drills around Taiwan on Tuesday. China claims self-ruled Taiwan as a breakaway province and has not ruled out force to bring it under Beijing's control. Such saber-rattling has left many in Taiwan uneasy. But Christians across the island nation are uniting in prayer for revival, unity, repentance, and protection. People are praying every day for 24 hours a day. The number of prayer groups has reached 40,000 with about five members per group. Brian Liu, Pastor at Shekinah House of Bread of Life, spoke to CBN News, LIU: “The united prayers and fasting prayers of the churches in Taiwan are much more than ever before. It's an unprecedented prayer movement.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Republicans win two Florida congressional seats In the United States, Republicans won special elections on Tuesday for two Florida congressional districts. Former state Sen. Randy Fine won the open U.S. House seat in Florida's 6th Congressional District, replacing Mike Waltz who is now President Donald Trump's national security adviser. And Republican Jimmy Patronis won the state's 1st Congressional District which was previously held by former Rep. Matt Gaetz. The victories maintain the GOP's slim majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. Democrats won Wisconsin Supreme Court seat However, Democrats won a Supreme Court race in Wisconsin on Tuesday. Democrat-backed judge Susan Crawford defeated Trump-backed judge Brad Schimel 55% to 45%. Crawford previously served as an attorney for Planned Parenthood. She fought against a law for women's safety which would have required abortion mills to have hospital admitting privileges. And Crawford fought against a law that would have prevented women from being coerced into abortion. Her victory maintains a liberal majority on the court which may hear important cases on abortion and congressional maps and redistricting. Specifically, Democrats are eager to insert a so-called right to abortion in the Wisconsin Constitution and redistrict previously safe Republican districts into Democrat ones, ensuring that Trump will lose his slim House majority which would deep-six his legislative agenda. Kelsey Pritchard, Communications Director of the pro-life Women Speak Out PAC, said, “Republican voters should heed this race as a warning on becoming complacent following the wins last November. “We must be engaged as we enter the mid-terms and show up to the polls next year so that the Trump administration's progress is not reversed. Otherwise, Democrats will fulfill the abortion lobby's agenda for the elimination of parental rights and all-trimester abortion funded by the taxpayer.” It was the most expensive judicial race in U.S. history with over $90 million spent. That included $20 million from tech billionaire Elon Musk for Brad Schimel. South Carolina eager to end Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments in an abortion funding case yesterday. The state of South Carolina is trying to end Medicaid funding for abortion giant Planned Parenthood. The Palmetto state has the support of the Trump administration and 18 other states. Alliance Defending Freedom is representing South Carolina in the case. John Bursch, their Senior Counsel, said, “Taxpayer dollars should never be used to fund facilities that profit off abortion and distribute dangerous gender-transition drugs to minors.” Wyoming no longer requires homeschoolers to get gov't approval Back at the end of February, Wyoming's Republican Governor Mark Gordon signed the Homeschool Freedom Act into law. Homeschool families in the state are no longer required to notify or check in with the government to educate their children. Wyoming is the 12th state in the nation to end such requirements and the first to do so by legislation. The Home School Legal Defense Association supported the bill. Christian astronaut trusted God despite 9-month delay in space And finally, a Christian astronaut shared his story with CBN News after being stuck in space for nine months. NASA Astronaut Barry Wilmore was planning for an eight-day mission to the International Space Station last year. But technical complications delayed his return until last month. Wilmore said God's sovereignty sustained him during the extended journey. He even led church devotionals while in orbit and sang “Amazing Grace” with fellow astronauts. He said he trusted God's plan. WILMORE: “The Lord's plan and His purpose. I'm okay with it. Whatever. Is it my plan? No, but my plans are not usually the good plans, are the right plans. And the Lord's [plans] always are, regardless of what takes place. God's word is clear, and I believe it because I've lived it. God is always good.” Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, April 3rd, in the year of our Lord 2025. On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, a Republican congresswoman pushed for proxy voting for pregnant women, but the vast majority of Republicans don't believe in proxy voting. Show up or don't vote. 9 Republicans got upset and voted with Democrats, which canceled votes for the week. A tiny minority shouldn't be able to derail President Trump's priorities. We can't have this constant blackmail. They have a budget bill to pass, and they need to get massive tax cuts in place. The key to economic growth in an environment like this is tax cuts - big, broad, tax cuts. It's the only way to either prevent or limit the life of a recession. The Democrats drove the economy into hyperinflation by printing paper. Tax cuts don't print anything, they actually create real, earned, tangible wealth. It's money created by the private sector for the private sector, not the bloated, corrupt government and its fraudulent spending. Any Republican who slows or opposes huge across-the-board tax cuts is a fool. Pass the Trump tax cuts and do it as fast as possible! Also, Wisconsin and Florida have special elections today. Randy Fine wins in the 6th Congressional District in Florida. Jimmy Patronis wins in the 1st Congressional District in Florida. Those are 2 big wins for Florida and the country. If the liberal judge wins in Wisconsin, it will effectively become a one-party state. Later, China's threats to Taiwan mean we should arm Taiwan with missiles to strike back, not just defend. Taiwan must be ready, learning from Ukraine and Israel, to hit the enemy effectively. Afterward, judicial tyranny continues - these judges are being used as weapons to threaten and stop President Trump. Trump and Elon Musk are doing the absolute best that they can to fix the country, and they are calling him a dictator. How is he a dictator? How many dictators reduce the amount of people who work for him? Finally, Dina and Dave McCormick call in to discuss their new book - Who Believed in You: How Purposeful Mentorship Changes the World. Today's Headlines: Senator Cory Booker set a new record for the longest Senate speech at 25 hours, surpassing Strom Thurmond's filibuster against civil rights. In election news, Republicans won both Florida special elections, though by smaller margins than Trump's 2024 victory. An Indiana University cybersecurity professor mysteriously disappeared following an FBI raid. Princeton University saw multiple federal grants suspended, and Trump's administration struck a deal with law firm Wilkie Farr & Gallagher, requiring $100 million in pro bono services. On Tuesday, voters in Florida elected two new U.S. representatives, while Wisconsin voters selected a new state Supreme Court justice. The races were the first general elections since President Donald Trump took office in January. In Florida, Republican candidates Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine defeated their Democratic opponents, preserving House Republicans' narrow majority. In Wisconsin, the Democrat-backed Susan Crawford defeated the Republican-backed Brad Schimel, maintaining the court's 4-3 liberal majority. On the debut episode of the newly relaunched Chuck ToddCast, Chuck sits down with Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman. But first, Chuck reacts to the special election results for US Congress in Florida that saw Republicans Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine beat out Democrats Gay Valimont and Josh Weil for the seats vacated by Matt Gaetz and Mike Waltz. He also discusses the hotly contested Wisconsin Supreme Court race, where liberal judge Susan Crawford won her race against Brad Schimel, who had millions of dollars of support from Elon Musk. Then, he and Sen. Fetterman discuss a wide range of important issues, beginning with his message to Democrats who are alarmed by the actions of Donald Trump's administration. He shares his reaction to the “Signalgate” scandal and his assessment of what went wrong for Democrats in the 2024 election. Fetterman gives his take on Elon Musk and Doge performing massive cuts across the federal government, as well as the looming tariffs that President Trump is threatening to impose on America's top trading partners. They also try to make sense of the administration's 180-degree turn on longstanding U.S. foreign policy and the president's fixation on Greenland. Finally, they discuss the current lack of a true leader for the Democratic Party, the role of billionaires in politics, and whether Senator Fetterman is considering a run for president in 2028.Timeline:0:00 Introduction2:30 Special elections in Florida8:42 Wisconsin Supreme Court race14:48 Start of John Fetterman interview18:00 Aaron Rodgers to the Steelers?19:00 Message to Democrats that are freaking out23:44 Reaction to “Signalgate”27:10 What happened in 2024?30:44 Elon Musk and DOGE35:22 America's 180-degree turn on foreign policy40:38 President Trump's fixation on Greenland44:28 Fetterman's Mar-A-Lago visit46:45 Who's the leader of the Democratic party?51:04 Influence of billionaires in politics54:08 Will Fetterman run for president in 2028?56:09 Do Democrats need to move to the center?1:01:09 Chuck's final thoughts on the interview with John Fetterman
Randy Fine locally and Jimmy Patronis in the Panhandle won special elections for Congress. But a left-wing candidate won the most expensive state supreme court election in history.
On Monday's Mark Levin Show, publishing classified information violates the Espionage Act, yet Jeffrey Goldberg, who has suggested he has published classified information, faces no apparent consequences. Despite confessing his awareness and emphasizing the information's classified nature, the lack of accountability—coupled with efforts to exaggerate an insignificant Signal chat—raises questions about the legal consistency. Nothing happened as a result of this Signal chat, but Democrats are attempting to spin it into something significant that it isn't. Also, Sen Chuck Grassley introduced legislation to clarify the scope of Judicial relief. “The bill would limit federal court orders to parties directly before the court – ending the practice of universal injunctions and clarifying the constitutional role of the judicial branch.” This needs to be done. Later, Randy Fine calls in to discuss the importance of Tuesday's special election in Florida's 6th Congressional District, urging Floridians to treat it as a national election due to its potential impact on the whole country. Afterward, Elon Musk revealed that over 4.8 million noncitizens have received Social Security numbers since fiscal year 2021 under the Biden administration, with a significant spike to 2.1 million in 2024 alone. 1.3 million of these noncitizens were also on Medicaid, and some may have even voted. In addition, Democrats know what they stand for – they support socialism, open borders, a weak military, and electoral fraud, but their challenge lies in the lack of American public support for these positions. Rather than rethinking their stance, they are focused on finding better ways to sell their agenda – these are the American Marxism. Finally, Mark explains the biggest problem with Marxism. Political analyst Steve Cortes discusses the significance of the April 2025 Wisconsin Supreme Court election and a voter ID referendum. The Supreme Court race is tied, with 87% of Wisconsinites supporting voter ID. Steve Cortes highlights Susan Crawford's opposition to voter ID and her potential impact on future elections, including redistricting. The Catholic vote, crucial in Wisconsin, could sway the outcome. Elon Musk's efforts in Wisconsin are noted for raising awareness. Additional interview with Randy Fine, a candidate in a battle in Florida, gives John an update on his campaign and shares his perspective on outside money coming into play in his race. Finally, Caleb Burns discusses the potential landmark case of United States v. Alexander Sittenfeld, a city councilman accused of accepting a campaign contribution in exchange for a vote on a development project. Despite Sittenfeld's denial of corrupt intent, he was convicted based on inferences. The case highlights concerns about the weaponization and criminalization of politics, the FBI's role in entrapment, and the federalization of state crimes through the Hobbs Act.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We are a day away from filling the Congressional seats left vacant from Matt Gaetz and Mike Waltz. In Florida's 1st Congressional district Republican Jimmy Patronis is running against Democrat Gay Valimont and in Congressional district 6 state Senator Randy Fine and Democrat Josh Weil are running to replace National Security Advisor Mike Waltz's seat. Both districts are heavy Trump favorites with a 30 point victory back in November. The harder race to call is in Wisconsin, where Elon, Scott Pressler and many prominent MAGA influencers have been on the ground to get Waukesha County court judge Brad Schimel elected. Tomorrow is also Liberation Day, President Trump will impose reciprocal type tariffs on imported goods from other countries in an effort to free the United States from relying on foreign goods. The president has already brought in a flurry of investments and Peter Navarro foresees a $600 Billion annual increase in American prosperity. Elon Musk exposed absolutely insane fraud within Social Security, including millions of illegal immigrants receiving benefits. Harrison Fields joins me to discuss all things inside the Trump White House. Working alongside Karoline Leavitt, the White House has taken the reins from the WHCA in the press briefing room. The WHCA annual dinner might not even happen after the host, left-wing hack Amber Ruffin, slandered Harrison and his colleagues. The Trump administration is excited for Liberation Day and look forward to the economic boom they predict will be brought in from tariffs. Florida holds a special election tomorrow for a House seat that has long been solidly red. Now? Maybe a bit less so.Former Congressman Mike Waltz gave up his seat in the 6th Congressional District – the area around Daytona Beach – to accept the post of President Donald Trump's national security advisor. In line to win his vacant seat tomorrow is Trump-backed Randy Fine, a state senator. But in recent days polls have been too close for comfort for many Republicans. Fine's Democratic opponent, math teacher Josh Weil, has raised $10 million for his campaign. Fine has brought in just $1 million. We discuss what we could learn from tomorrow's results. On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, the Democrat media and Democrats are desperately trying to create a scandal with the Atlantic, Signal story. There is no scandal. There was no threat to our armed forces or the ongoing mission. President Trump will get to the bottom of it. More attention has been devoted to the Signal story than to the 13 courageous soldiers who lost their lives during Biden's horrific Afghanistan withdrawal. We're bombing the hell out of the Houthis and we're not getting many reports on it. Later, a group filed a lawsuit over the Trump administration's Signal group chat, and it was amazingly assigned to Judge Boasberg - the same judge hearing the deportation case. This case should be thrown out because the group doesn't have standing. Also, it's illogical that a single district court judge, at the lowest level, can issue an order impacting the entire nation, while a lone Supreme Court justice lacks similar authority. Although appeals are an option, the process can drag on for years, exacerbating the issue. To address this imbalance, the Supreme Court should take up one of these cases and provide a definitive resolution. Afterward, Randy Fine calls in to discuss his special election campaign in Florida's 6th Congressional District, where the outcome could significantly impact Trump's agenda. Fine is prepared to enact legislation to support Trump's policy goals. In addition, Dr Elaine Healy joins the show, she exposed Andrew Cuomo's directive to put COVID patients in nursing homes on this show 5 years ago. Finally, YAF President Scott Walker joins the show to highlight the significance of the Wisconsin Supreme Court election. He warns that a liberal victory could lead to redrawn congressional districts, eliminating two Republican seats. Should Republicans lose both this race and the Florida congressional seat Democrats might gain control of the House of Representatives. Learn more about your ad choices. It's Thursday, and David Waldman and Greg Dworkin are here to say the smartest things about the dumbest stuff. The Team Trump screwups keep on screwing up. Their passwords and personal emails have now been discovered by DER SPIEGEL, which might read better in the original German. Donald K. Trump loves his staff, unless the polls convince him that they were just coffee boys. So much for JD Vance's tour ship diplomacy! No one in Greenland wants to sell him a box of donuts, let alone their finest local whale blubber, seal blubber or narwhal blubber. And JD just sold his house too! That is, his LLC released its holdings to another LLC. (Of course, Orla Joelsen's pictures of Greenland look much better on Blue Sky.) We are the bad guys now. Masked gunmen disappear people off the street, families beg for their release as the captives are used in propaganda videos. The majority of Americans believe presidents should obey the courts, but who thinks that Trump is only a president anymore? Probably a few lunatic left judges, but who cares about them? Ah, but special elections, those could be the beginning of a blue wave, if we are allowed to have those anymore. In Florida, state Senator Randy Fine should be winning big, but might be winning small. His wife could help out by hoochie cooing like a drag queen if required.

Send us a textFirst, a look at the Florida where Senate President Ben Albritton, newly installed in his leadership role, exhibits his penchant for being a political butt-weed rather than an upholder and defender of the Constitution and the rights of the People, by denying even so much as an honest evaluation of an open carry bill simply because the Florida Sheriffs Association doesn't like open carry. “I trust my law enforcement officials, and that's where I stand" was his pathetic comment. So, I guess the free exercise of our rights here in Florida only happens at the whims of the Sheriffs Association? Then, a look at another political animal in Florida named Randy Fine and his hypocritical grandstanding regarding the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas Act of 2018, one that he voted "Aye" for, but now claims he's going to rectify his mistake. Royce proves that this is nothing more than Fine's attempt to garner the vote of 2nd Amendment Americans, whom he poo-poo'd when their ire was enflamed towards him in 2018.Support the showAskari Media GroupBuy Paul Eberle's book "Look at the Dirt"Paul Eberle (lookatthedirt.com)The Deadly Path: How Operation Fast & Furious and Bad Lawyers Armed Mexican Cartels: Forcelli, Peter J., MacGregor, Keelin, Murphy, Stephen: 9798888456491: Amazon.com: BooksVoice of the Blue (buzzsprout.com)

Last summer, Reveal host Al Letson returned home to Jacksonville, Florida, to find a changed state. The Republican Legislature had passed a slate of laws targeting minority groups. Educators could now face criminal penalties over the material they teach regarding gender and sexuality, and schools across the state were banning books about queer families, transgender youth and Black history. There were also repeated instances of racist and anti-Semitic speech, including Nazis waving swastikas in front of Disney World. All of this contributed to the NAACP issuing a rare travel advisory stating that “Florida is openly hostile toward African Americans, people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals.” Then on Aug. 26, a White supremacist killed three Black people at a Dollar General in Jacksonville. When Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis attended a vigil for the victims, he was met with boos and mourners shouting, “Your policies caused this.” In this episode, Letson digs into the policies DeSantis and the Legislature have passed in recent years and their effects on Black Floridians and other people of color. He speaks with a history teacher who says the new laws have made it harder to educate students, as well as a mother who describes books being removed from her daughter's classroom and rules barring students from sharing books with friends at school. Letson also interviews state Rep. Randy Fine, a Republican who championed many of the new policies, including the Stop WOKE Act, which restricts how racism and history are taught in schools. In the final segment, Letson examines redistricting in the state. In 2022, DeSantis vetoed maps drawn by the Republican Legislature, and the governor's office instead drew new maps that got rid of two Black-dominated districts and increased the number of Republican-leaning districts. Those maps, which were subsequently passed by lawmakers, are now being battled over in both state and federal court. To understand the debate, Letson speaks with reporter Andrew Pantazi of the Jacksonville news organization The Tributary, as well as lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. Fine defends the new maps, saying they're designed to challenge Florida's Constitution, which he argues requires “racial gerrymandering.” Democratic state Rep. Angie Nixon says the new maps violate Florida's constitutional protections of racial minorities and their ability to “elect representatives of their choice.” Support Reveal's journalism at Revealnews.org/donatenow Subscribe to our weekly newsletter to get the scoop on new episodes at Revealnews.org/newsletter Connect with us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram

… and more on today’s CrossPolitic Daily News Brief. This is Toby Sumpter. Today is Tuesday, April 26, 2022. French President Emmanuel Macron won re-election to a second term on Sunday, beating far-right challenger Marine Le Pen. https://twitter.com/SBSNews/status/1518436382946914304?s=20&t=JmyST1xPkVhXKkXGViCwCA Play: 0:00-0:26 The election runoff was a rematch of their 2017 race, when the center-right Macron ran as a fresh face and trounced Le Pen 66.1 percent to 33.9 percent. Sunday's vote was closer but still decisive, with Macron, now running with a clear record, winning 58.5 percent to 41.5 percent. Biden said he felt good about the election, and was looking forward to talking to Macron Monday. https://twitter.com/therecount/status/1518611872139857921?s=20&t=9oZvYhXWZjIpSuf9IksCvw Play Audio Macron said his re-election was a win for "a more independent France and a stronger Europe," although he called it his duty to "respond effectively" to "the anger that has been expressed" in the campaign. Le Pen conceded defeat but said French voters showed they wanted a "strong counter power" to Macron. Is DeSantis Really Fighting or Just Shadow Boxing? Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill last Friday that revokes a special tax district which essentially gave Disney governing powers on its theme park land at Orlando. The new law was apparently an act of retribution for Disney's belated opposition to the controversial "Don't Say Gay" law approved just a few weeks earlier by the state's GOP-led legislature. "You're a corporation based in Burbank, California, and you're gonna marshal your economic might to attack the parents of my state," DeSantis said before signing the anti-Disney law. "We view that as a provocation, and we're going to fight back against that." The question is whether this commitment to "fighting back" probably means hurting Florida taxpayers. It's a complicated story, but the gist appears to be that revoking Disney's tax district essentially puts area residents on the hook for more than $1 billion in bonds the company used to pay for things like water service and new roads on its land. Local homeowners could see their taxes jump by 20 percent as a result – to the tune of 163 million per year. Orange County Tax Collector Scott Randolph, a Democrat and the former ranking member of the Florida House finance and tax committee, claims that if Reedy Creek ceases to exist, the residents of his county and neighboring Osceola will have to take on its tens of millions in bond payments and operational expenses currently paid by Disney, but will be left without the ability to collect revenue because the taxing authority will no longer exist. Randolph told FOX Business that could mean an increase in property taxes of 25% if Orange County has to absorb all of it. Florida state Rep. Randy Fine, the Republican who sponsored the legislation, told FOX Business that that argument is "just a scare tactic used by woke politicians." Fine acknowledges that the local entities where Reedy Creek lies will pick up the Reedy Creek's debt once the district is dissolved, but says those local governments can create Municipal Service Taxing Units (MSTU) that would also "pick up the revenue that would be going to pay for the debt." He insists that "There's no impact to taxpayers." Randolph argues that according to Florida statute, the local governments cannot impose MSTUs on Reedy Creek because it is an independent tax district. Therefore, he says, when that incorporated municipality dissolves, Disneywould have no obligation to pay the $163 million each year. Fine says that's why the service taxing units are municipal, and therefore not something handled by the state. "Scott Randolph's job is to open envelopes and to take out checks," the lawmaker told FOX Business. "He probably should stick to that. He doesn't set tax policy." In reply, Randolph said, "Randy Fine doesn't understand basic math." Raldolph says the bill against Disney was rushed through in 48 hours without legislators working out the details, but acknowledges that there is over a year for local municipalities to work out how they will manage the transition. After signing the legislation into law, DeSantis' office issued a statement clarifying that "it is not the understanding or expectation for SB 4-C, abolishing independent special districts, to cause any tax increases for the residents of any area of Florida." The new law undoing Disney's tax district doesn't actually take effect until June 2023, and observers think the company and the state might work out some kind of accommodation by then. The whole incident might end up as little more than a showy, performative in-kind contribution from the Florida Legislature to DeSantis' incipient 2024 presidential campaign. So the question is what is actually going on here? If DeSantis revoking some privileges from Disney, that seems reasonable, since Disney has publicly signaled that they are planning to do more grooming of Florida’s kids. At the same time, dropping a huge tax bill on that region could be detrimental, although maybe not as detrimental as Disney continuing to brainwash the children and families of Florida. At the same time, some transparency on taxes and funding would be nice. And the people of Florida who care about real freedom and virtue should want to see those numbers include indications of putting money and therefore freedom back in the pockets of the people of Florida, not government programs or temporary dispensations from the government. In a press release issued Thursday, the zoo said it has received COVID-19 vaccines for animals developed and donated by Zoetis. According to the zoo, it has received 320 doses of the vaccine. Each animal will need two doses, administered two-to-three weeks apart. The zoo said it has 120 animals that have already or will soon receive a vaccine, “based on the COVID-19 sensitivity list that has been developed through on-going research and reports of positive cases in other zoos.” The release said zoos in the U.S. have been vaccinating their animals since 2021, adding that “to date there have been no significant adverse effects reported.” According to Dolf DeJong, CEO, Toronto Zoo, the zoo has not seen any positive cases of the virus within it’s animals during the pandemic. “Being able to add this extra layer of protection allows us to continue doing everything we can to provide them with the highest level of protection and medical care,” DeJong said. According to the zoo, animals are given the choice if they want a vaccine or not. Wait. What?! The zoo said animals undergo “positive reinforcement training” adding that many animals “willingly present an area of the body (such as an arm or tail) as part of their training exercises with their trusted keepers, with desirable treats often used as a reward for their participation.” The zoo said the training sessions are voluntary. The zoo said the training allows the animals to participate in other things like X-rays, blood draws, hoof trimming, which “allow the keepers and veterinary team to monitor their health regularly” without “causing the animals any undue stress.” You know this is hilarious. But it’s also full of propaganda. To call what these folks are doing to zoo animals “voluntary” and a “choice” is wicked. Now I don’t think animals need to be given any choices. They need to be cared for as creatures made by God, but man is responsible to take dominion over the creatures, to rule over them in wisdom. But in an evolutionary worldview, human beings are just animals, and so we can be locked in our homes, or in cages, and what is forced upon us can be called voluntary and our free choices, with just enough positive reinforcement training. Applicants are required to “self identify” through a university survey, which first asks applicants to select whether they identify as a woman, a man, transgender, “gender-fluid and/or non-binary,” two-spirit, or “prefer not to answer.” The applicant is then asked to select the option they identify with: asexual, bisexual, gay, lesbian, pansexual, straight or heterosexual, other, or “prefer not to answer.” “Select all that apply,” the survey notes. The University of Waterloo emphasizes that it seeks to attract “outstanding and diverse faculty members with the goal of being recognized as one of the top innovative universities in the world,” noting that “embedding equity, diversity and inclusivity across the research enterprise enhances research excellence.” “As such, we encourage applications from candidates who have been historically disadvantaged and marginalized, including applicants who identify as Indigenous peoples (e.g., First Nations, Métis, Inuit/Inuk), Black, racialized, people with disabilities, women and/or 2SLGBTQ+,” the advertisement says. In the university’s advertisement it notes that the candidate “will propose an innovative program of high-quality research that will attract external funding and excellent, well qualified and diverse graduate students.” “Evidence of an active research program with emphasis on climate and/or climate change science, water science and sustainability, or future cities and a successful record of Tri-Agency research funding, or equivalent, is required,” the advertisement says. “Ability and desire to partner with faculty in closely related fields is required.” Psalm of the Day: Psalm 148 https://www.christkirk.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/18-Psalm-148-From-Heavn-O-Praise.mp3 Play: 0:00-0:41 Amen. Biden Extends US National Emergency Over COVID-19 https://www.zerohedge.com/political/biden-extends-us-national-emergency-over-covid-19 In a letter released on the White House website, Biden told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) that “there remains a need to continue this national emergency.” “The COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause significant risk to the public health and safety of the Nation. More than 900,000 people in this Nation have perished from the disease, and it is essential to continue to combat and respond to COVID-19 with the full capacity and capability of the Federal Government,” he wrote, adding that his office has “determined that it is necessary to continue the national emergency declared” almost two years ago. As of late last year, data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Johns Hopkins University showed that there were 60,000 more COVID-19 deaths under the Biden administration than under the Trump administration. President Donald Trump had declared a national emergency, which allowed the freeing up of about $50 billion in federal aid. The emergency would have been automatically terminated unless, within 90 days prior to the anniversary date of its declaration, the president sent a notice to Congress stating it would continue beyond the anniversary date. His decision to extend the emergency comes as several Democratic governors moved to rescind COVID-19 mandates, including mask rules, in recent days. The governors of New York and Massachusetts announced last week that they would end certain mask mandates in their states, following similar moves by New Jersey, California, Connecticut, Delaware, and Oregon. Some critics have said, however, that Democratic leaders are turning away from COVID-19 rules because they fear losing control in either the House or Senate in the 2022 midterms. A Jan. 31 Monmouth University Poll showed that about 70 percent of Americans agree with the statement, “It’s time we accept that COVID is here to stay and we just need to get on with our lives.” PAPERBALL… US court of appeals judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is said to be the frontrunner as Biden looks for a nominee to replace supreme court associate justice Stephen Breyer. Joe Biden has interviewed at least three potential supreme court nominees and is expected to reveal his decision by the end of this month, according to multiple sources close to the president. Ketanji Brown Jackson, Leondra Kruger and J. Michelle Childs – all Black women – were among the contenders who spoke with the president. Jackson, who has widely been considered the frontrunner, currently sits on the US court of appeals for the DC circuit after replacing the attorney general, Merrick Garland, in June 2021. Kruger is an associate justice of the California supreme court and has served as the acting principal deputy solicitor general under the Barack Obama administration. Childs currently sits on the US district court for the district of South Carolina and was previously nominated by Biden for a seat on the DC circuit court of appeals. On Sunday evening Cedric L Richmond, director of the White House office of public engagement, told members of the organization Win With Black Women that “we’re close”. “We know what some of the attacks are going to be: not qualified, affirmative action pick… Well, it wasn’t ‘affirmative action pick’ when we just picked friends, white friends of the president, for all these decades. You know, it was just patronage or whatever they wanted to call it,” Richmond said, according to a source who has direct knowledge of the private conference call. Biden has set the end of February as his deadline to pick a nominee. According to CNN, White House officials have reached out to liberal groups to inform them that Biden will not be shifting from his timeline and urged them to support “top tier” candidates against critics’ attacks. In a statement on Tuesday, Andrew Bates, a White House spokesperson, said Biden has not yet made a decision. “The President has not yet chosen a nominee. He continues to evaluate eminently qualified individuals in the mold of Justice [Stephen] Breyer who have the strongest records, intellect, character, and dedication to the rule of law that anyone could ask for - and all of whom would be deserving of bipartisan support. He looks forward to announcing a nominee this month.” PAPER BALL… Thousands of truckers are preparing to converge on Washington, D.C., in the coming days as an American Freedom Convoy plans to shut down the Capital Beltway. https://www.conservativereview.com/lawmakers-request-national-guard-presence-as-american-truckers-prepare-to-protest-in-washington-dc-2656777104.html Law enforcement agencies in the D.C. metropolitan area have called in support from the National Guard as they prepare for the American convoy to arrive in late February and stay in the area until late March. Participants in the trucker protest requested a permit from the National Park Service to allow 1,000 to 3,000 people to gather in the nation’s capital city. In response, members of the National Guard will be deployed in the area during the month of March. Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said that the Department of Defense has received a request for assistance from the U.S. Capitol Police and the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. Kirby said, “Those agencies have asked for National Guard personnel to provide support at traffic control points in and around the District to help the USCP and DC government address potential challenges stemming from possible disruptions at key traffic arteries.” Bob Bolus, an organizer of the American trucker convoy, said that protesters are interested in shutting down the Capital Beltway as they stand in opposition against a multitude of policies such as vaccine mandates and disregard for immigration law. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan will be delivering a response to President Biden’s State of the Union address next week. Tlaib, a member of the so-called "Squad" of progressive and diverse Democratic lawmakers in Congress, will give her address on behalf of the left-wing Workers Families Party, the group announced on Wednesday. Tlaib, a two-term lawmaker who made history as the first woman of Palestinian descent in Congress, represents a congressional district that includes parts of Detroit and its inner suburbs. She is expected to praise the president’s stimulus bill and argue that liberals have pushed hard to pass Biden’s agenda. And she’s sure to take aim at Republican lawmakers and some moderate Democrats for blocking the passage of the major spending package being pushed by the White House and most Democrats in Congress. "Obstructionist Republicans and corporate Democrats have forced D.C. to a standstill while millions of kids are pushed into poverty and rising costs are making housing, healthcare, and childcare even more unaffordable," the Working Families Party tweeted in announcing Tlaib as their speaker. The speech will likely spotlight the fissure in the Democratic Party between the progressive left and the more moderate wing of the party ahead of November’s midterm elections, when the Democrats hope to hold onto their razor-thin majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate. GOP leaders in Congress announced on Tuesday that Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds will deliver the Republican Party's rebuttal to the president’s address. The president's expected to deliver the State of the Union address on Tuesday, March 1, at 9 p.m. ET. PAPER BALL… Governor Ron DeSantis' backing of a Florida House Representatives measure to withhold $200 million from 12 school districts that defied the state's ban on mask mandates has sparked outrage from 11 Democratic members of Congress who are now calling for a probe. In a letter addressed to U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, the lawmakers argue that the funding reductions would "exacerbate an already strained school system" that they noted ranks 46 among states in per-pupil support, a measure that gages funding per student. "This proposal is another attempt to punish these school districts that implemented universal masking policies during an ongoing global pandemic," the letter read. "We write to request (the Department of Education) consider investigating the recent proposal." Under the proposal, the Orange County Public School District would lose $16.5 million worth of funding and the combined Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach County school districts would lose $128 million worth of funds. Forbes reported that the money taken from these and other districts would be moved to the state's other 55 districts that did not defy the order. He has been a vocal critic of COVID-19-related mandates since the onset of the virus. DeSantis did not originally support the measure, which was introduced by state representative and House Education budget writer Randy Fine. However, last Tuesday the representative announced that he had garnered DeSantis' support on the measure. "What he [DeSantis] has asked, and what we agree with, is that ensuring our proviso says these reductions in growth must come entirely from central offices...there can be no programmatical cuts in programs facing students. So, the governor is on board, now," Fine said in response to a question about why the proposal did not originally garner the governor's support, WFSU public radio station reported. As it stands, COVID-19 cases in the state of Florida have dropped by 77 percent over the past two weeks and hospitalizations have fallen by 45 percent. These numbers stand above the national figures of a 66 percent decline in cases over the past two weeks and a 44 percent drop in hospitalizations. PAPER BALL… The Covid-19 pandemic kicked off a nationwide housing boom. Home-price growth surged to a record in 2021, as low mortgage-interest rates prompted buyers to compete fiercely for a limited number of homes for sale. The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller National Home Price Index, which measures average home prices in major metropolitan areas across the nation, rose 18.8% in the 12 months that ended in December, unchanged from the prior month. The calendar-year increase was the highest since the index began in 1987. The Covid-19 pandemic kicked off a nationwide housing boom. Households took advantage of record-low rates and sought more space to work from home. Home sales climbed to a 15-year high in 2021. A shortage of homes for sale led to bidding wars, pushing price growth to new highs. The low inventory has persisted into this year, with the number of homes for sale sliding to a record low in January, according to the National Association of Realtors. First-time buyers are struggling to compete against cash buyers and investors. The share of first-time buyers in the market fell to 27% in January, down from 33% a year earlier, according to NAR. Home-price growth has decelerated in recent months and is expected to slow further in 2022 as mortgage rates continue to increase. The average rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage was 3.92% as of Thursday, said mortgage finance giant Freddie Mac, the highest level since May 2019.

"This proposal is another attempt to punish these school districts that implemented universal masking policies during an ongoing global pandemic," the letter read. "We write to request (the Department of Education) consider investigating the recent proposal."Under the proposal, the Orange County Public School District would lose $16.5 million worth of funding and the combined Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach County school districts would lose $128 million worth of funds. However, last Tuesday the representative announced that he had garnered DeSantis' support on the measure."What he [DeSantis] has asked, and what we agree with, is that ensuring our proviso says these reductions in growth must come entirely from central offices...there can be no programmatical cuts in programs facing students. So, the governor is on board, now," Fine said in response to a question about why the proposal did not originally garner the governor's support, WFSU public radio station reported.
