Join us as we continue to look at hell, the afterlife, and Christian Universalism. Christian Universalism's main teaching is through Jesus Christ, salvation will eventually be realized for everyone, not just for a chosen group or believers in this life. For some, hell will be what it takes to accept Jesus. After enough suffering in hell's fires, everyone will eventually give in and believe in Jesus, joining the rest of believers in heaven eternally. This view is hopeful but misguided and heretical. We have already seen how this view violates Scripture. Today we will focus on the nuance of the word “eternal” meaning “without end” and how that relates to hell.
Join us as we continue to look at hell, the afterlife, and Christian Universalism. Our culture loves the idea of no hell and no punishments. From John Lennon's hit song, "Imagine," to Pastor Rob Bell's book, "Love Wins," the seductive, age-old heresy of Christian Universalism has lured the American church in. This version and idea of hell is heretical and dangerous. Join us in this series as we present a defense of the biblical hell that is grounded deeply in sacred Scripture.
Regardless of one's definition, hell is a place that no one would want to end up. There is nothing more horrifying or tormenting, than realizing you are slated for hell. In recent years, the idea of God sending people to hell where they suffer conscience pain and torment forever has been challenged. Rob Bell wrote his influential book, “Love Wins” where he questions whether a loving God would do this. This has highly impacted the Church and has given credibility to Christian Universalism, the idea that all human beings will ultimately be saved and brought into a right relationship with God. Its main teaching is through Jesus Christ, salvation will eventually be realized for everyone, not just for a chosen group or believers in this life. The question for us is, is this Scriptural? Join us as we start this new series on hell and the afterlife.

Welcome back T&J family! This week we are having a throwback episode. The series we did on hell was well received and really helped us on our theology journey. Many of you are here because of this series while many more have started listening after we went through the topic of hell. Since life has been crazy for both of us, we thought we would republish this episode for those who have never heard it or want to think back through the topic again. The idea of Christian Universalism is not prominent, so we look forward to your thoughts and opinions on the topic. Next week we will back to with our normal show. Enjoy!Email us your thoughts and feedback to large23onsweetwheat@yahoo.com
"Let us know what you think."We are not so far from a universal view of Christianity as we might think.
Have you ever wondered about the fate of those who don't profess faith in Jesus? Can a loving and merciful God condemn billions of people to eternal torment? How do we reconcile these questions with the heart of the gospel? In this message, we dive into one of the most challenging questions for Christians in our ongoing series, "Wrestling with Doubt, Finding Faith." Together, we explore the different perspectives Christians have taken over the centuries—Christian Exclusivism, Universalism, and Inclusivism—while reflecting on what scripture, tradition, reason, and experience can teach us about the nature of God's love, mercy, and justice. This message isn't about pushing a single viewpoint; it's about equipping you to reflect deeply, wrestle honestly with doubts, and grow in your understanding of faith. Come with your questions, your curiosity, and an open heart as we engage in meaningful dialogue about salvation, God's character, and the call to share our faith.Speaker: Pastor Mark ReynoldsVenue: First United Methodist Church (Cocoa Beach, FL)Don't forget to subscribe and hit the notification bell so you never miss an update.

Christian Universalism is a subtle heresy that's frighteningly common among GenZ today. It's a way that teenagers can affirm that "Christ is the only savior" and make other gospel-sounding affirmations while fully embracing the hyper-tolerant worldview of today's culture. In today's conversation, we discuss what Christian Universalism is and how youth workers can help students build their faith on the biblical message. Discussion Questions: What do we mean by universalism and Christian Universalism in particular? Can you walk us through some of the logic behind Christian Universalism and some of the key Bible verses? Why do you think Christian Universalism is so appealing to today's teenagers? How can youth workers preach the gospel of grace without falling into one of two errors: accidentally implying Christian Universalism, or nuancing the gospel so thoroughly it's become clunky and confusing? How do you recommend youth workers to respond when talking with a teenager who considers themselves a Christian but affirms Christian Universalism? Andrew Slay is an Assistant Pastor at Westwood Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN, where he oversees ministry to high school and middle school students. He's working on his PhD in Apologetics and Culture from NOBTS. Recommended Resources The following books include Amazon Affiliate links, which provide YPT with a small financial benefit. “For it logically follows that if God is all-good, all-knowing, and all-powerful, then God must also be all-saving.” Often dismissed as a modern feel-good theology, Christian universalism is an ancient, orthodox, and biblical theology that was expounded by early Christians and early church fathers. Artman brings much-deserved attention to this wonderful spirituality. In this conversation, David Artman shares that grace saves alone and goes to all. This inclusive approach to Christianity is variously called universal reconciliation, universal salvation, or perhaps most accurately, Christian universalism. David shares that the inclusive/Christian universalist approach is necessary because it offers the only Christian theology that successfully defends the goodness of God.
