In this powerful sermon, Guest Speaker Michael Rondon dives into John 5, exploring the story of Jesus healing a man paralyzed for 38 years at the Pool of Bethesda. Titled "Do You Want to Be Made Well?", the message challenges listeners to reflect on their own desire for spiritual and physical healing. Michael emphasizes Jesus' personal approach, meeting individuals in their brokenness, as seen in encounters with Nicodemus, the woman at the well, and the paralyzed man. He unpacks the significance of hope, perseverance, and trusting God's goodness, even when answers are "no" or "not yet." Drawing from the broader context of the Gospel of John, Michael encourages the congregation to find life in Jesus alone, live a legacy that points others to Him, and prepare for eternity. The sermon also highlights the power of God's sovereignty and the call to serve the "one" in front of us, inspiring believers to remain expectant and faithful in their walk with Christ.Watch all our sermons on our youtube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

The privilege of gathering together as God's people is a reminder that our identity is not found in a building or a weekly event, but in the living presence of God within us. Reflecting on my recent visit to the Western Wall in Jerusalem, I was struck by the reality that, while many still pray for the coming of the Messiah, we who are in Christ know that the wall of separation has been torn down. The Holy of Holies is no longer a distant, restricted place—God's Spirit now dwells in us. This is not because of anything we have done, but because of what Jesus accomplished through His sacrifice. The presence of God is not confined to a location; it is our new identity as His people.Understanding that we are the temple of God changes everything. It means that wherever we go, we are on holy ground—not because of the place, but because the Holy God lives in us. This truth is not just theological information; it is deeply practical. It transforms our marriages, our parenting, our work, and even the way we interact with strangers. When we practice the presence of God, we begin to see ourselves not as consumers of spiritual goods, but as co-laborers and living stones, each with a role in God's mission. Our culture often views church as a place to have our needs met, but the biblical vision is so much richer. We are not customers or spectators; we are a spiritual family, a living temple, called to bring glory to God and to serve one another. This calling comes with both privilege and responsibility. We are set apart—made holy by Christ's sacrifice—and called to live differently, to be in the world but not of it. Holiness is not just for pastors or priests; it is the calling of every believer. We are a royal priesthood, offering our lives as living sacrifices. This journey of holiness is not about legalism or condemnation, but about responding to the loving conviction of the Spirit. Sometimes, God gently points out areas where we have compromised or grown numb to the world's influence. In those moments, we are invited to remember the privilege of His presence and to realign our lives with His purposes. The same God who dwelled in the tabernacle and temple now dwells in us, empowering us to live as His holy people.Chapters[00:00] - Welcome[01:00] - Summer Reflections and Family Updates[04:00] - Encountering the Western Wall[09:26] - The Wall of Separation and the Holy of Holies[10:44] - God's Presence Now Dwells in Us[14:09] - Misconceptions About Church[17:40] - EBC's Heart: Discipleship Over Consumerism[20:57] - Church: Not a Place, But an Identity[23:37] - Church Is for God's Glory, Not Ours[25:30] - From Spectators to Co-Laborers[27:32] - The Danger of a Consumer Mentality[30:19] - The Aircraft Carrier Analogy[33:15] - Biblical Metaphors: Temple, Bride, Body, Family[34:26] - The Temple: God's Presence and Our Unity[36:15] - Holiness in a Culture of Compromise[39:57] - The Story of Separation and God's Pursuit[43:28] - The Tabernacle: God Dwelling Among Sinners[45:14] - The Temple's Pattern and Its Fulfillment in Christ[46:52] - Jesus, the Final Sacrifice and the Torn Veil[49:11] - The Urgency of Personal Faith[50:15] - Living as God's Temple[53:10] - The Cloud of God's Presence and Our Mental Health[55:18] - The Call to Holiness and Responsibility[57:08] - You Are Not Your Own: Living Sacrifices[59:21] - Honest Confession and the Spirit's Conviction[01:03:56] - Responding to Conviction Without Condemnation[01:04:51] - Invitation to Prayer and Closing Worship
In this enlightening episode of Father and Joe, hosts Father Boniface and Joe Rockey tackle a common challenge faced in both missionary work and personal faith journeys: effectively communicating the vast benefits of attending Mass. Using the analogy of sales and products with multiple benefits, Joe introduces the idea that one needs to understand the needs of the person they're engaging with to convey the most relevant benefits. Just as eggs can be appreciated for various uses in meals, the benefits of Mass extend far beyond individual understanding, offering a unique and personalized spiritual experience to every attendee.Father Boniface steps in to explain the power of forming meaningful relationships, not just in sales but within the spectrum of evangelization and attending Mass. Our episode explores the concept of 'accompaniment,' where personal interaction and understanding play critical roles in spiritual guidance and evangelization. This approach helps parishioners form a deeper connection with the Mass, experiencing its full benefits uniquely tailored to their life stage and personal circumstances. We delve into the importance of fostering interior participation in Mass, where silence plays a crucial role. Father Boniface introduces practical ways to connect deeply with the Mass's proceedings, which is essential for transforming a routine obligation into an enriching personal journey filled with discovery and purpose.Additionally, we discuss overcoming the initial sensations of social awkwardness that some might feel when attending Mass, focusing on how to transition from merely going through the motions to actively engaging in a way that reveals Mass's transformative power. Discover how Mass is not just a weekly obligation but a profound means of receiving guidance, healing, and purpose throughout life's fluctuations.Join us as we explore creating moments in Mass that lead to spiritual growth by aligning personal experiences with the spiritual community and the central purpose of the Eucharist. Whether you're a devout parishioner or someone seeking to reengage with your faith, this conversation provides helpful insights to transform your relationship with Mass.Tags: Faith, Podcast, Mass Benefits, Personal Faith, Spiritual Growth, Eucharist, Sales Analogy, Evangelization, Accompaniment, Interior Participation, Spiritual Guidance, Overcoming Awkwardness, Father Boniface, Joe Rockey, Religious Experience, Church Community, Personalized Spirituality, Missionary Work, Transformation, Spiritual Wisdom, Theology, Catholic Church, Christian Faith, Building Relationships, Mass Engagement, Discovering Faith, Church Attendance, Meaningful Worship, Personalized Faith, Spiritual Fulfillment, Religious Obligations, Community Support, Guidance through Mass, Listening to God, Interior Silence, Growth through Faith, Christian Podcast, Spiritual Direction, Personal Connection, Catholic PodcastHashtags: #FaithJourney, #PodcastSeries, #MassBenefits, #SpiritualGrowth, #Eucharist, #SalesAnalogy, #Evangelization, #Accompaniment, #InteriorParticipation, #SpiritualGuidance, #OvercomingAwkwardness, #FatherBoniface, #JoeRockey, #ReligiousExperience, #ChurchCommunity, #PersonalizedSpirituality, #MissionaryWork, #Transformation, #SpiritualWisdom, #Theology, #CatholicChurch, #ChristianFaith, #BuildingRelationships, #MassEngagement, #DiscoveringFaith, #ChurchAttendance, #MeaningfulWorship, #PersonalizedFaith, #SpiritualFulfillment, #ReligiousObligations, #CommunitySupport, #GuidanceThroughMass, #ListeningToGod, #InteriorSilence, #GrowthThroughFaith, #ChristianPodcast, #SpiritualDirection, #PersonalConnection, #CatholicPodcastThis line is here to correct the site's formatting error.
Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Today's shout-out goes to Mark Maple from Kokomo, IN. Your partnership with us through Project 23 is helping people find the answer to the most important question that still demands an answer. This study is for you. Our text today is Mark 8:27-30: And Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that I am?" And they told him, "John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets." And he asked them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered him, "You are the Christ." And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him. — Mark 8:27-30 Jesus comes with his disciples to Caesarea Philippi—a place known for temples, idols, and false gods. And in the shadow of this spiritual confusion, he asks the most defining question of all time: "Who do people say that I am?" They answer with the popular responses. It's what all the headlines proclaim: "John the Baptist. Elijah. A prophet." Opinions swirled then, just like now. But then Jesus turns to the more personal question: "But who do you say that I am?" This isn't a theology test. It's a heart check. It's not about reciting what others believe. It's about declaring their beliefs. And Peter, with clarity and courage, answers: "You are the Christ." The Anointed One. The Messiah. The fulfillment of every promise. Peter was right to answer this way because this is the most important question he would ever answer. But it's also the most important question we could ever be asked and respond to: "Who do you say Jesus is?" And when asked, you can't hide behind a parent's faith. Or echo your pastor's voice. Or repeat what Christian culture says. Eventually, you must give your answer. Not just with words—but with your life. If Jesus is truly the Messiah, then he must be the Lord of all. Not just a one-time Savior. Not just a once-in-a-while helper. Not just there to rescue you from your mistakes. But Lord of all you life. Lord of your time. Lord of your thoughts. Lord of your decisions. And you must serve him. This confession would alter the rest of Peter's life. And it will change yours, too. But Jesus cannot just be a one-time Savior. He must be a Lord who has complete leadership of your life. If you question the answer to the question—surrender it all to him today. #JesusIsLord, #Mark8Devotional, #ChristConfession ASK THIS: How would you answer Jesus' question today? Why do people hesitate to call Jesus the Christ? In what areas of your life is Jesus not yet King? What does it look like to confess Christ with action, not just words? DO THIS: Write your answer to Jesus' question: “Who do you say that I am?” Then, pray it out loud. PRAY THIS: Jesus, You are the Christ—my Savior and King. Help me live today in a way that reflects that confession with boldness and faith. Amen. PLAY THIS: “Christ Is Enough.”

In this enlightening episode of Father and Joe, host Joe Rockey engages Father Boniface in a profound conversation about the transformation from mere belief in Jesus to a profound, unwavering trust in Him. Released in the wake of Easter, this episode examines some poignant Biblical examples of trust, such as the Roman commander's faith in Jesus' ability to heal from a distance and the woman healed by simply touching Jesus' garment. The discussion delves into the distinct nature of trust in faith and how certain individuals in the New Testament managed to attain a level of trust that eluded even the apostles.Explore the journey of faith as a dynamic transition from understanding and belief to an active, certain trust. Father Boniface lends insight into why some are ready to make this leap, while others remain hesitant, and what it takes for modern-day believers to emulate such absolute trust in their spiritual lives. Through stories from scripture, the lives of the saints, and shared experiences within the community, this episode encourages listeners to take tangible steps in developing this deep-seated trust.Listeners are invited to reflect on areas of their life where they have yet to fully let Jesus in and are encouraged to work towards an integrated spiritual existence. Practical advice for incorporating Jesus into every aspect of life is provided, alongside broader spiritual insights and encouragement. This fall, the pastors at Fellowship Denver led our church family through six sermons examining what we want to do (our mission), who we want to be (our values), and what we long to see God do (our vision). Jesus defined the mission of his church in Matthew 28 in a statement often called “the great commission.” Our way of restating our public mission, as given to us by Jesus, is “We help people discover and follow the original Jesus.” In today's episode, Hunter and Autumn reflect on the recent sermon series, Fellowship Denver's mission, and the bridge graphic we use to explain the locus of the church between the kingdom of God and the world. The bridge graphic displays six pillars:1. Contend & Contextualize2. Doctrine & Life3. Scripture & Orthodoxy4. Words & Deeds5. Transformation & Grace6. Personal Faith & Church

There's no question that we live in unprecedented times. Everywhere one looks, they can easily find division and chaos. However, it was in similar circumstances years ago where a story arose of how one man who overcame the odds, sustained by the love of a woman who supported him in his journey could bring unity and resilience throughout a nation. From 1981 through 1989, Ronald Reagan led a great American comeback. He not only achieved what his critics said would be impossible; he made it seem easy. His leadership transformed a sputtering U.S. economy into a rocket of growth that led to a generation of prosperity. Through it all, he revived America's spirit, restored our hopes, and strengthened our faith. Thankfully, we get the opportunity of reliving this story of hope and redemption through the big screens as the new film, REAGAN, releases this Friday, August 30th nation wide. Joining us today to not only provide us with insight on this new film, but also give us a glimpse of his personal life and faith is one of the most resounding actors of our day and age, Dennis Quaid! Dennis is an Emmy and Golden Globe nominee best known for his roles in The Rookie, The Day After Tomorrow, The Parent Trap and many more. A household name, his work has spanned multiple generations of beloved films. In addition to acting, Dennis is also a musician, releasing multiple albums and is currently promoting a new Gospel album titled Fallen: A Gospel Record for Sinners. And today, we're going to be discussing Dennis's most recent endeavor - staring in the new Film, Reagan… Dennis said playing Ronald Reagan was one of the greatest honors of his life as he was inspired by the many parallels between each of their lives. I pray this conversation would encourage you as you hear a behind the scenes look into the professional and personal life of one of the world's favorite actors. Sunday morning sermon by Tim Alsup. Continuing our series "Considering Our Culture's Questions."
How do we hold our faith in essentials with unity while allowing diversity in non-essentials and charity in all things? Romans 14 helps us to balance our personal freedoms with care for others hwo may believe slightly different than us on debatable matters. The Just shall live by faith and that faith can work through the higher law of love.

From 9/11 to 1/6; from growing up as a Christian to reckoning with the current state of the Evangelical church in America; Elizabeth Neumann, the former Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism and Threat Prevention at the US Department of Homeland Security, has the experience and has done the work to understand what's at stake in our country. So it was an honor to have her back on the program to discuss all this and more. Elizabeth Neumann had a first hand look at the inner workings of the Trump Administration. What's clear from her experience is that there were a lot of people who were hard working public servants doing their best to serve the country's interests while, at the same time, having to navigate the daily chaos that defined Trump's time in office. And Elizabeth certainly has an informed perspective, having also served in the George W. Bush Administration. (Spoiler Alert: Those 2 admins couldn't have been more different.) So we delve into the historic bookends of September 11th, 2001 and January 6th, 2021. We also candidly explore, as Christians, how so many of our friends from church have become radicalized; are sympathic to or are dismissive of acts of violent extremism; and some who have even participated in demonstrations of extremism. Most importantly, as the subtitle of Elizabeth's book indicates, we explore the path back to peace. ELIZABETH NEUMANN served as the Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism and Threat Prevention at the US Department of Homeland Security. Elizabeth is an ABC News contributor and the Chief Strategy Officer at Moonshot which builds solutions for one of the most pressing challenges facing communities around the world: violent extremism. She is also the author of the important new book, Kingdom of Rage: The Rise of Christian Extremism and the Path Back to Peace. 01:41 Elizabeth's Journey: From Counterterrorism to Author; 04:12 Exploring the Roots of Extremism and Personal Faith; 24:04 The Role of Media and Social Media in Shaping Views; 29:16 Raising Informed and Engaged Citizens; 33:51 Comparing the George W. Bush and Trump Administrations; 42:48 Navigating Trump's Influence and Policy Challenges; 44:09 Forecasting the Future: A Second Trump Administration; 44:26 The Impact of Inexperienced Appointees and Ideological Shifts; 45:15 The Global Implications of Withdrawing from NATO and Support for Ukraine; 47:31 Analyzing the January 6th Insurrection and Its Precursors; 55:24 The Role of Christian Extremism in Political Violence; 01:03:36 Addressing Extremism and the Importance of Local Engagement; 01:14:21 Conversations Across Differences: Strategies for Dialogue Let us know what you think. Join us as we unpack a poignant passage from Luke 5, where Jesus' wisdom comes to life, revealing the delicate balance between times of solemnity and moments of joy. Taking cues from the parables of new garments and wineskins, we discuss how these teachings resonate in our personal spiritual journeys, inviting us to consider when to hold fast to the old and when to embrace the new.The discussion then shifts towards a harmonious life of both revelry and reverence, where confidence and freedom guide us. We explore how our various backgrounds shape the ways we approach spiritual disciplines like fasting. The conversation highlights the importance of timing—understanding when to indulge in life's feasts and when to embrace quiet reflection. Jesus' example instills in us the wisdom to avoid the extremes of legalism and gluttony, advocating for a life that can adapt to the rhythm of the seasons we encounter. We close by contemplating the overarching narrative of God's timing in our lives, inspired by Jesus' dialogue with the Pharisees and Sadducees. As we align ourselves with the spiritual climate of our times, we delve into the symbolism of the bridegroom in Scripture, ultimately tying it all together with the profound act of communion. This moment of sharing bread and wine connects us to the heart of our faith and Christ's ultimate sacrifice, a poignant reminder to celebrate the transformative joy found in knowing Him. Join us on this enlightening journey, and let's toast to the discovery of balance and depth in our spiritual practices.
